Melia Peninsula Varadero: great beach

Not that impressed. Resort is older, there is ongoing renovation. Main buffet not welcoming. Food not the best, lacking variety and taste. Ala cart restaurants good. Staff curtious. Entertainment pretty good.

Melia Marina Varadero: It was wonderful

Not exactly like the picture above .. my stay was very good , enjoyed it .. although I can’t compare it to others much ( I have not traveled a lot ) all and all it was good ! :) would def. return to this resort

Paradisus Rio De Oro: The resort does not live up to a 5 star rating

Excellent food, service but the resort is aging and needs and update and maintenance overhaul to rate equally with other 5 star resorts we have stayed at in Cuba. However the pool, and beach were excellent as well as the meals in the buffet and 4 a la cartes.Although the entertainment was good, there could have been more variety.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good location, very quiet (adult only)

Very clean, well-maintained grounds. The room had no washcloths, the bathroom sink did not have a strainer (almost lost an earring), the AC was too noisy to leave on at night so discomfort. Perhaps they should think of having screens for their patio doors. The pillows were too thin. The food in restaurants was acceptable except for the Mediterranean one (Miramar); the food at the buffet did not have enough variety or appeal, the pasta line was too long, desserts were good.

Hotel Vigia: Trip to Sol Cayo Guillermo was cancelled as Air Canada cold not accommodate our flight - Re-booked with Air Transat to Melia Cayo Coco, Cuba with Rick Lockhart

Melia Cayo Coco, Cuba was excellent as usual. The hotel has come a long way of recovering from Irma. The beach restaurant and bar took them 3 months to re-build and it is amazing how nice it is. The rooms in the lagoon are very very nice. The a la carte restaurants are very good. The pool is nice and kept clean. The Cubans are very nice at this resort and they make you feel welcome. The grounds are very nice and the gardners keeping the grounds beautiful. There is not a bad thing my husb [... read more]and and I could say about this resort, the Melia Cayo Coco in Cuba. The food is bland which it is always in Cuba but good. We have been at this resort about 5 times now and it is #1 in our books. Thank you Rick for booking this trip for us at the Melia Cayo Coco. Melia Jardines del Rey: One of the best we have been to!

The beach is unbeatable. Very long walkable stretch of near perfect sand and easily swim able waters and a uniquely fun sand bar. Lots of activities such as catamarans, kayaks and snorkelling. Beach front bar and staff are fun and fast. All hotel staff were excellent and went the extra mile with a smile. One of the larger lobbies we've seen and lots of fun evening entertainment. Even the pools were fun with games and activities to engage guests. Rooms are minimalistic but considering the small a [... read more]mount of time spent there we were fine and the cleaning staff are also very friendly. Lastly, the food wasn't nearly as bad as we prepared for. Fresh grilled fish everyday was delicious and if you ask for popular opinion you can try some nice a la cartes. All in all we were thrilled all week long and actually intend to go back this year !

Melia Jardines del Rey: The resort was great!

The resort was beautiful and the service was great! The staff was friendly and always around if you needed anything! The beach and pools were phenomenal and the weather couldn't have been better! Would definitely go again!

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful Place

As much as I loved the staff, there was only one elevator working all week during our stay and the tiles on the floors needs to be changed. Had to take the stairs with my bad knees. Staff was very friendly and courteous. The food in the buffet holders was cold.

Melia Marina Varadero: Come for the beach, don't stay for the food

Incredible beach / water. The hotel is extremely dated for a 4 year old property. Some staff are great - others, appear disinterested in providing any level of service. Food is not great - but hey it's Cuba.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Wouldn’t go back

We had regular expectations for Cuba. We are not travel snobs and have been to other places in Cuba..This resort was nice and beach is amazing however the food wasn’t great. We lived off hotdogs ice cream and French fries all week. Our rooms were not cleaned properly. The maid did not wipe down sink or countertops or clean the bathtub. She didn’t even change our sheets when we asked for it to be changed. The pirate ship playgrown that was advertised to us when we initially booked (we have tw [... read more]o small kids), was closed. It looked like it was underconstructuon for a while and no one was working on it.. this really disappointed me because my son was really excited about it when we booked our trip. Also make sure you have the correct amount of towels they give you and if security takes them off the lounging chair go report it missing because they will make you pay $15 per towel when you check out. Because we didn’t report our missing towels they made us pay. And threatened to let us not leave the resort... so overall we will not be returning to this resort.

Melia Las Americas: Resort was very nice!

The resort is very large and well located to the golf course. Just a 2-4 minute walk depending on where you are staying in the resort. We found the staff very friendly and courteous. There was always something going on to keep you occupied. We found the food bland and average but better than most Cuban resorts. The only other complaint was that we found the pool water temperature quite cold considering the hot weather. Overall, I give it a 4 star rating.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great resort.

While the rooms are a little dated, they were clean and everything (AC, fridge, shower) all worked. The staff at this resort are amazing and extremely friendly. Can not say enough about the beautiful beach. The scenery around the hotel, and during the bus trip from the airport is spectacular.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort!

This hotel is great value for the money. The entertainment, food, accommodations and people were great. The grounds were very well maintained. The large pool was spotless. A couple of the bathrooms were in need of some maintenance, but otherwise the resort is fine. You can't go wrong with this resort. After all, this is a Melia, would you expect anything else!!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Amazing beach.

The hotel was dated can't really say it's a four star even for Cuban standards. The staff was nothing but friendly and helpful. The food was not very good most of it at the buffet was cold. For a Melia resort we were a little disappointed. The weather was sunny all week but so windy couldn't sit on the beach a few days without getting sandblasted.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Excellent Resort!

All areas were very clean. Large beach area. Typical early mornings in order to get a palapa. Food was very good, great service. Would definitely go back. Not a large resort and on the quite side which I was looking for......I`ll be back!!!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic resort!

Very small and walkable. Staff feel like family and they are over generous and go above and beyond. Buffet was amazing, thanks to Chi Chi, eyelash boy, Ariel, Daniel, Betsy and many more. Juan at the lobby bar was so speedy and efficient and Nestor and his staff at the beach bar were so much fun! Loungers were dragged down the beach for us by the life guards and the beach was like a picture from the cover of a magazine. The grounds were immaculate and the rooms were huge. Water, pop and beer was [... read more] stocked in your room fridge everyday and the maids did a good job cleaning the rooms. A la cartes were good, with the Japanese one putting on a fabulous show. Great stay over all and will definitely return.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely resort

Grounds: Beautifully taken care of. The staff working day and night at times to keep it looking neat and clean. Rooms: our room was okay. Not the most comfortable bed, but how much time are you really spending in your room? The only thing that I had an issue with was the musky smell that stuck around. We kept our bathroom door closed, that helped a bit. Food: I loved the selection at the buffet. Breakfast was my fave. Fresh buns, cheese and meat. Pancake station, with caramel and vanilla syru [... read more]p. Mmm. A la carte restaurants were okay as well. Japanese, French Mediterranean and TexMex were the choices. The beach snack bar opened from 1pm -330pm I believe. You gotta have the bbqed blood sausage. Delish!! And their salad and the bean rice. Mmm. Staff: Everyone was wonderful. Friendly, hard working and always willing to help. Hint: get to know them, make conversation and appreciate them. And you will have no issues. Beach: BEAUTIFUL and clean. Go and reserve your seats. If no luck ask the guards for help, they will help. Entertainment: this could've been a little better. I liked the shows, but I myself loooove dancing. There wasn't much for a disco. There was a disco nearby the resort but nothing on site. When they played the music, it was shortly after the show and didn't last for long. The retro/rock show was the absolute best. Overall experience: I will definitely be going back.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great Resort!

We really enjoyed our stay at Melia Marina. The service was excellent and there was plenty of entertainment. The food was also great and the beach was beautiful. We stayed in the studio apartment and found that it was clean, comfortable and really luxurious. The only con to this resort is that the hotel staff don't speak English very well and it can be super hard to communicate, additionally the wifi is horrible and also not free. Other than that, great stay and we would recommend it.

Hotel Vigia: Great holiday!

Once again we enjoyed a week vacation at this resort. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the musicians who played in the lobby, and dining room. Very talented! Cuban Tuesday was fun. This small resort is so easy to get around for a senior. Hopefully, we will be back again.

The whole resort and service was truly a five star. The resort was clean ,the rooms was beautiful ,the food was good and loved the shows. We would go there again . Loved the beach. Met lots of friend who said they have come back many of times .The al la carte restaurants was very good .The rooms had everything you needed.
