Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Another great time at Labranda Varadero

We are repeat guests at Labranda Varadero and plan to go back again in the spring. The location, beach and grounds are well complimented by an amazing staff in all categories from food servers to bartenders, from grounds keepers to cleaners. There are a lot of renovations going on, including a large new restaurant. We highly recommend the Labranda Varadero.

Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing resort

Rooms were clean, food was the best I've had in Cuba, the staff took a bit to get warmed up to new people but once they did they were fantastic , sandra in the buffet was fantastic and Darlay in the main lobby bar made the best drinks

Playa Vista Azul: Great beaches and wonderful people

The Ocean Vista Azul is a beautiful all-inclusive Cuban 5-star resort. The beaches are magnificent (some of the best we've seen) with good animation and services. We were there in early December which is a good time to visit (not too busy and very nice weather). The resort itself is clean but needs better maintenance as some things require more regular attention. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were comfortable and well maintained although sparsely stocked (towels, soap, [... read more] etc.). The basics are there and replenished daily, sometimes a reminder is necessary (tipping assures good service). There was a good variety of food at the resort, particularly at the buffet restaurant. The "a la carte" restaurants were disappointing. We did not opt for the Privilege status and didn't find it made our stay any less satisfying. The nightly shows were standard resort fare (nothing extravagant). The local musicians who played throughout the resort were very good and entertaining. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Melia Las Americas: Love cuba

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent variety of good food, many swimming pools, beautiful clean beach. Excellent night entertainment. Close to a gorgeous golf club. Their sunset is breath taken. Very friendly service.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: It was a Amazing resort

Everything was perfect. Location was awesome! Food was great and a lot of choices! I would recommend this to everyone and enjoy their stay there! Service was on point and last but not least we enjoyed our stay

Club Kawama: Lub Kawama

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Comfortable and nice resort

Just came back from this resort. What we liked the most - was the beach and the ocean . Room was spacious, beds comfortable. Food very average, poor selection, quality even poorer. A la cart restaurants , specially International and Asian - big disappointment. But this is Cuba. Another disappointment - evening entertainment. We were expecting much much better. Overall - we enjoyed our week in this resort.

Barcelo Solymar: Solymar : 4 stars in 1970

Disappointing with all. From service to rooms. Yes rooms I had to change 3 times. First room no ac and no handle at the balcony door. Second no hot water. Third bearable. Not clean and with a strange smell. Avoid at all cost

Club Tropical: Will not put on weight

Food available was inedible. Really, I was there. Keeping in mind Cuba does not have much to work with as far as variety & quality. One will not starve as there is lots of restaurants all in walking distance. Drinks were very good. Service & staff wonderful. We were there for week of Dec. 7th Nice small hotel on the beach. Clean. Great location. Been there 3 times. Will be trying an other hotel next year only for the food factor.

Club Kawama: Small, not too busy, and nice beach

Overall good for price and season we went in. Travelled with my parents, wife and 2 year old. Food can be a bit cold. Beach is beautiful and property well maintained. Rooms are not the best but equipped with fridge and air conditioning. Servers and management was great.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Million Dollar Beach

I loved the layout and size of the resort. Everything was reasonably close by. The staff was friendly and extremely hard-working. All the facilities were in good repair and the lighting was exceptional at night. Food was okay. We were able to book 4 a la carte restaurants. At lunch we had access to the main buffet, a BBQ buffet near the beach, the snack bar or an a la carte Italian/pizza restaurant. We were close enough to walk to the nearby marina where there were restaurants, shops and an [... read more] artisan market. My 3 complaints would be: beach chairs are in need of replacement (most are sagging and cracked), no mint or lime and the wheelchair accessible door to the main buffet was blocked by a table (there were guests in wheelchairs and with walkers). Overall a wonderful holiday.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Quiet

I'm not sure if it was the time of year (first week in December) or the resort itself. Although the resort has potential to be good, there was not much going on. There was no problem getting a chair on the beach or at the pool because no one was there. The snack bar was rarely open and there was a beautiful open air restaurant that was only open for lunch twice during our stay. We heard that there were managers around that day. Entertainment didn't start until 9:30 and most of it consisted  [... read more]of the audience dancing on stage (at least the 2 times that we did actually go). Its a good thing I like spaghetti but I will not be eating it any time soon. I've had my fill. The swim up bar was in a great location but not stocked to my liking. Again, its a good thing I like beer. The lobby bar did have a better selection. I only found 3 locations to go the the washroom on the whole resort. Maybe there is more? Be prepared for a cold butt if you are a lady. I will say that the maid did a great job with our room. I'm really not complaining because we booked this vacation last minute and the price was right. What was I expecting.

Melia Las Antillas: Peaceful Cuba Vacation

Hotel and grounds beautiful. Nice layout. Don't forget to make a la carte reservations. Stayed for 5 days. Cannot wait to go again. Amazing hotel staff. Hotel is a little older but very clean. Great stay and great service.

Melia Marina Varadero: Wonderful staff

Pros- staff are the best thing about this resort.....everyone works hard to make your vacation enjoyable -unlimited a la carted -the lobby bar is a popular gathering spot with good nightly entertainment -rooms very clean -nice boardwalk area with restaurants and shops next door at the marina Cons- we have travelled to Cuba on a number of occasions and have a realistic expectation regarding the food however this was our biggest disappointment.....many foods are the frozen variety and fresh i [... read more]tems are scarce -the supply of beverages was also hit and miss in that they often ran out of items in various locations on the resort ie) wine

Roc Barlovento: Very good hotel

Grounds are very well kept & food was decent for a 3.5 star in Cuba lots of variety.pool & beach we;re excellent. Wait Staff was also very good with excellent service & always friendly greetings.Cons:Staff in general on the Front Desk we;re not very helpful on getting 2 smaller problems with room resolved . Went to front desk 3 times for these items but no luck.This is an area that could use some improvement. Overall very happy with the resort & definitely will return.Kudos to the management.

Roc Barlovento: Nice Resort

Enjoyed our stay at Barlovento, great location, very good service at the bars and dining room. We did not like the Mexican & Fusion restaurants, service was poor and food was cold. Great beach makes up for the small flaws.

Roc Barlovento: Very nice Clean Resort

We thought overall it was very good, the beach and ocean was excellent although the swimming pools were on the cold side. The beds were comfortable but the room itself had an oily smell sometimes, they said it was from the oil refinery and it all depended on which way the wind was blowing. The staff were very friendly and the entertainment was excellent. As for the food, my wife and I did have a problem, but the couple we travelled with did not.

Playa Vista Azul: Great Value

They are working hard to bring this hotel from a 4 star up the ladder and it shows. The staff was warm, friendly and very accommodating. The food, although not gourmet, was pretty good and a few of the lunches were stellar....trays and trays of lobster tails, cleaned and cooked to perfection. The grounds and common areas were always clean and tidy and our rooms, including the bathroom was sparkling every day. Gran Caribe Sun Beach: You have what you pay for

It is not for sure 3 star hotel They have problems with basic service like having ice , ,drinks ,spices, snacks,Small stuff which can be eazy fixed .If you ask they ignore you or tell you they will do it later.Never happen

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Not what we expected!

This resort is certainly not a 4 star.While the beach and water were amazing, the service was non existent. The room was clean, but missing towels, the balcony door didn't have a latch to close/ lock, also we didn't have power in the outlets and it got fixed after several calls and a trip to reception. ( door was not fixed while we stayed) The food was the absolute same every day, not many options, and if you went to eat half hour after the buffet opened, the counters were almost empty. No one [... read more] comes to the tables to offer water or coffee unless you ask for it. The only place we enjoyed in terms of food was the grill by the beach, and the young gentleman was doing a great job making it. The beach bar opens at 11am and its out of drinks by 12.30 They were cleaning the pools by the main buffet and there was a stench for days, from dead fish. The live entertainment in the lobby was one of the few things we really enjoyed. The one highlight of our trip here was a trip to Havana we booked privately and absolutely enjoyed.
