Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Fantastic Family Vacation

Family of 3 (mom, 8 yo, and 4 yo) had a fantastic week in the sun. The kids loved all the water slides and the beach. We spent our entire days outside swimming and exploring. The Kids Club (child minding) was a wonderful break for parents and fun social activities for the kids. The food was bland but we always found something for everyone to enjoy (including lots of ice cream!). This was a repeat visit for us (we went 5 years ago). Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Stay away!

Terrible (slow) service, run down and unsafe. Took 3 hours to check in and buffets were dirty and had bugs. They ran out of alcohol (tequila and rum) mid stay. We will not be returning and felt as though we paid for a 5 star but went to a 2 star max

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Great Small Resort

We had a fabulous time. The weather was great, the beach was busy but beautiful. It is the kite surfing beach. The rooms were dated but for the purpose of sleep, they were just right. The buffet and al a cart were okay. The Mexican and Italian were fantastic. The buffet had regular local foods but it was also Americanized. The pool was well maintained and the grounds were clean. So this did get a little busy at certain times of the day. Overall I would recommend if you like small resorts.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Good resort

Everything was excellent at the resort. Very clean ! Only thing I can complain about was the wifi not in rooms and not many areas. Staff was amazing and very helpful. Walked the beach for miles. Walked streets for blocks we were in a gated areas that had like 5resorts .

Occidental Caribe: Acceptable for the price

Hotel installations were quite dated, a lot of maintenance is required around the hotel. Bathrooms in the rooms need to be improved. Staff is very friendly though. Beach and location are both amazing. No service on the beach, nor pool area. Enough food diversity, options to please anyone. Difficult to get cutlery and coffee and beverages during peek buffet hours… Restaurants a la carte aren’t amazing, difficult to reserve too. If you can get a good deal and are not too pi [... read more]cky I’d recommend. The hotel to me is more like a 3.5 star and not a 4 star hotel. We still enjoyed ourselves, but this review is a heads up for people that are picky for the elements mentioned above.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Exceptional

Wonderful spot for families and couples. We went as Grandparents to meet up with our children and grand-daughter and had all the fun we hoped for. Our room had a great view and wonderfully stocked up and clean. Service, food and entertainment were great. Checking in late after a long flight on New year's eve was disappointing though, as we were tired and just wanted to get to our room to rest. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Beautiful resort. Would definitely go there again

Amazing resort, beautiful beaches and friendly staff. Stayed in the adult only section and it was great . Would recommend this resort to friends and family. Lots of entertainment and food 24hrs a day

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Nice Resort

Sunscape Puerto Plata is a small resort that may show signs of aging, but it is meticulously maintained. The staff is exceptional, always ready to assist when needed. The three on-site restaurants are decent, nothing over the top, but nobody went hungry. It's advisable to arrive early to avoid the long waits as they do not take reservations. The beach was very nice, although a bit of seaweed was always in front of the resort. If you venture further down, the water was exceptionally clear. Despite an abundance of loungers, shade is limited, with only one row of chairs beneath trees. While Sunscape Puerto Plata lacks a few amenities found in other resorts I've visited, our week there was still very enjoyable and provided a relaxing experience.

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful Resort

The hotel is very nice and the pools are well maintained and crystal clear the rooms are large and so is the decks What I didn’t like was the resort is in total darkness at night so if you need to leave your room it is quite scary

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful resort, great value!

For the price we paid we were really happy with this resort! Service was fantastic, Brazilian steakhouse was the best restaurant, beach was calm and beautiful! Thank you to front desk for making sure we got a reservation on our first night (Dec 31), and to the buffet servers for being so quick! If you're looking for a beautiful place to spend a week and don't mind the limitations of the breakfast/lunch buffet selection, then this resort is a very reasonable price! VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Average Resort

Small resort with very average facilities and entertainment. The main bar area really has limited seating and is more like a pool bar than the 'main' gathering bar. Junior suite room floor was very dirty when we arrived, only one mirror in the room which was the bathroom and for the size of the room they could have a dresser for more storage and another mirror! One of us lived out of the suitcase. Wifi in room was slow but worked once you unplugged the router a few times. Food average. Tabl [... read more]es in the open air buffet area were not that clean, the ones we sat at were sticky. There were lots of bees around you while eating. We only got one booking for the Italian restaurant. The lady was not too friendly when booking and said there were no other bookings available for us. The beach there is beautiful. It was nice to be able to walk a few min to a little shopping area. The public washrooms in the resort (by the pool and stage) were really hard to get into they are so small and I am not a really big person. I would not return so I would not recommend this to any of my friends but if someone got this for a very good price then you would likely be happy.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great time

Had a great time and thank you Tracey for the help booking a great new years trip. Staff were friendly, beach was great .. food was good everyone was happy and welcoming from day 1. Thank you for making new years a memorable one

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: not the same

Second visit. First was in 2017 when the hotel was new. We loved it on first visit but disappointed this time. The beach is still fantastic and the food was great but the rooms have been neglected and the hotel became noisy with all the evening entertainment. Service is random and chaotic. I would agree with 4-star rating six years ago but now is rather 3-star.

Whala Boca Chica: Terrible

Terrible resort from food too the empty water coolers rooms were decent so was the service pool towels were hard too get and pool was dirty the beach was good but the resturants around were top dollar when the seen u was from gringo land

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Beautiful Resort

The grounds and the resort was beautiful as it is brand new. Rooms are very spacious, comfortable beds and are well lit. We had a ground floor room that had our own swim out pool which was very nice to have and I would book that again. There are 2 sides to this resort a family side and then the adult only side. We just returned a couple days ago from the adult only side and I will say that it is an extremely quiet resort if you are looking for rest and relaxation. I was however disappointed that [... read more] the sports bar and all the daily & nightly entertainment all took place on the family side though as it would have been nice to have some entertainment throughout the day. The resort was like a ghost town come 9pm at night with a few people sitting on their balconies and that's it, super quiet at night. If you are a sun lounger and love to be up early and have a few day drinks, lay by the pool or beach and read a book and then go to bed early then this is a perfect resort for that cause nothing goes on at night. Beach was beautiful, nice turquoise clear water and you could walk out forever and only be up to the chest. Very little seaweed and no rocks. Food was good, but again not a lot of choices on the adult only side. The Mediterranean & Italian were both on the Family side so the only choice for special dining was the Steak House and the Asian and you could choose between an a la carte menu or the Hibachi dining at the Asian and the Breseria at the SteakHouse which was amazing and the best meal ever!! They bring around a selection of meats and seafood that they cut off of a large skewer onto your plate so you get a variety to try (beef, chicken, shrimp, sausage, bacon wrapped chicken, pork loin, whole roasted pineapples) and it's all timed nicely so it ends up being a nice relaxing dinner not rushed. They also serve a bunch of different sides to the table for sharing as well (French fries, baked potato, vegetables, mushrooms, and different meat sauces) Amazing variety!! The Buffet was always different though and offered a nice variety so you aren't eating the same foods daily. I would still go back to this resort again as I loved the relaxation and quiet but it would be nice to see a few more activities and entertainment happening on the adult side too!!

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Great resort!

Clean, well kept but too many cats roaming around. Need more chairs at the beach. Can't walk the beach but waves are awesome. Butler was overrated, he didn't do much for us. Food was great. Felt safe. We would definitely go back.

Emotions by Hodelpa Juan Dolio: Very Good Value with a family

Hotel accomodation great but needs upgrades with appliances such as fridge had to replace room fridge 3 times. Room service needed more towels exchange had to ask everyday to supply us with fresh towels. Dining room buffet in this case was great lots of variety of different foods and choices. bonus was omellette and pasta bars always available.Staff were great always giving us excellent service. Booking "a la carte" restaurants was a our biggest challenge trying to book reservations for a la [... read more]rge group was difficult. We could not book online because having three diffferent rooms the reservation could not be processed for our group. Pools and Bars on site were great. Staff were amazing! Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Marien Puerto Plata

At first, we (6 of us) did not get the rooms (3 rooms) we purchased. The rooms were awful, damp and humid with a disgusting oudour, one of them without AC. We all wanted to go home immediaterly. Very stressfull. Eventually, after a lot of complaining, the satff did make it right and gave us good rooms. Thank you Marlen and Jordan. The food at the buffet was ok but little selection and very repeative. The food and service at the restaurents was good. Most (not all) were disgrunteld, not very freindly, and certainly not happy. They seemed to resent us for vacationing there. Also things were very pricey on the resot and we felt we were being gouged.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Jewel Punta Cana

The grounds were very well kept and very clean. There was always someone cleaning up leaves. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The rooms were very clean but in need up an update. I did hear that the resort is closing at the end of the month for the update. The buffet always had lots of variety and the servers were very friendly.
