Barcelo Maya Caribe: Stunning resort

My husband and I had never been to an all inclusive before and we absolutely loved it from: the room - it was clean, spacious, with the right amenities the grounds - they were beautiful, well kept, and relaxing to walk about in the food - we enjoyed trying different buffets, the variety of food and the fun generated in the special restaurants the beach and pool - both were well kept, an abundance of sun cots so you always had somewhere to sit and lie and one felt very safe, we really enjoyed the [... read more] sand and water at the beach the service - was good, all questions were answered, the waiters and waitresses were friendly and on the last day we appreciated having somewhere to store our clothes, have a shower and get ready for our later departure therefore enjoying a few more hours of sunshine It was a wonderful experience and we felt relaxed and well taken care of for our time there. Definitely going back to a Barcelo property again. Thank you for your attention to the details

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful Resort

Really well kept grounds and clean resort. Beautiful white sand beach and sea very good for swimming. Staff mostly friendly but many spoke no English or only little. Any side trips were very expensive and we ended not taking any of them. Not a friendly location for non-smokers. Restaurants were smoke free but cigar and cigarette smokers were allowed to smoke inside all the buildings and spoiled the air for non-smokers. Barcelo Bavaro Beach: One resort that delivers...

We were 2 mature couples who traveled the world including a few inclusive/adult resorts, with more than high expectations. The location "Punta Cana" was outstanding; the resort "spotless"; the entertainment and food better than average; the staff from the booking to the shuttle, the Hotel and cleaning was more than accommodating. It was a relaxed and smooth vacation in spite of the size of the complex (adult and family-over 1000 rooms) although separate from each other shared restaurants. The co [... read more]mplex spread along the beach made for wonderful walks but also offered constant shuttle trains as alternative. Of course there might be dishes that were not to our likes, neighbors with total luck of consideration (noisy/smokers/w/sense of entitlement: reserving chairs). The way I see it, these individuals make their presence in any type of resort, no fault to the complex. One thing that could be improved? make wifi available and free even if in lobby only.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great Resort for the Price

Just arrived back from the resort, rested, tanned and a few pounds heavier thanks to the great food. AirTransat personnel was great for fixing quickly issues or concerns. Busy place but relaxing. Booking a King bed doesn't mean you get one, at least right away if you don't mind switching rooms later. Otherwise you are stuck with two double beds. Drinks are very generous. Suggest you bring your insulated travel mugs (Big Bubba's are ideal). Adults side, things shut down at midnight with food stopping at 10:30pm. Otherwise you have to go to the Deluxe side where families are to get 24h food and beverage. No swim up bar on the adults side which is different but no one seemed to mind. You never wait long for your drinks from the friendly staff. Grounds are well maintained and cleaned including the beach front. Excursions being offered are quite pricey given they are in US dollars ($100US avg per person) Some excursions like the sailing adventure we wouldn't recommend. It's $115US /person. and it's 4 hrs on a boat that simply passes by the front of the hotel and stops just down the beach. The place is busy with the beach stretching down a line of resorts. All the excursions pass in front of the hotel so there are lots of boats with music pumping up and down running up and down the beach. Also, the helicopters…average of 4-5 of them buzzing overhead that felt like you were at a military base. With all that aside, we did enjoy ourselves, met some great people and did relax with some great weather. Don't be afraid to try this place, you won't be disappointed.

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Just amazing

Great food and hotel has great amenities including sushi bar and sky bar. Can easily walk to grocery store or nearby bars. Just an amazing vacation. People who complain about wait times or other minor inconveniences need to relax. If you want to be near all the clubs in Los cabos stay in the other side of town - it is a $45 US cab ride.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: very clean and enough to do.

Hotel is spread out,would like to know where your room is going to be.ground floor or higher.Rooms are clean and toilet and showers excellent.Meals in special location are great.Buffet lot of food.No free wi-fi in loby is nuisance.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Fabulous resort

Amazing room, property and food. Especially loved the French restaurant at the Palace. The staff were friendly and the food amazing. The beach was huge and the water warm. The evening shows were fun and they did a huge spread for Superbowl Sunday!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Golf Paradise

Very modern and clean. Lots to do for children and adults. Good food and service. Golfing is good but $70 per person for the golf cart. Everything was well thought out when built. Shows are even entertaining. No complaints. Would certainly return here.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: excellent resort

The Barcelo resort was fantastic! Overall experience was definitely a positive one! The Barcelo allowed us to engage in a variety of activities and helped us have a much needed relaxing vacation. I would definitely recommend is this resort to everyone!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Exceptional value and top class resort

Iliana did a tremendous job setting up this booking - the resort was fantastic - two storey rooms ( we had deluxe) were perfect for the sets of golfers in pairs in our group, the resort was large and never crowded, the food and restaurants were anything that you would like (including the buffet - reccomend the snapper or tuna and perfectly acceptable wine lists with nice variety), the beer was always ice cold, the Pete Dye course was a delight and the golf attendants were top notch, the weather  [... read more]was perfect with the typical Carribean shower at two o'clock, the beach, ocean view and pool were top class, the casino was great fun, not too big, no smoking downstairs but had upstairs for the cigar lovers, (and we won) and most of all the staff were very friendly and attentive and never stopped smiling. We are thinking of going back there already - we didn't do 1/2 of the activities available ( we were there for golf) Don't think twice about this one! At the price we paid it was a steal.

Barcelo Maya Palace: good and bad

rooms, grounds, pools, staff, all top notch. A bit windy for most of the week so ocean swimming was poor (red flags) Plenty of fish to swim with, and a turtle or three. Not much in the way of "Mexican" food. And what was there, was rather bland. Buffet food was good, but rather repetitive after a week. I did not like being "nickle and dimed" Room service was "free" but you had to pay for delivery. Had to pay to use "Bali" beds. Barcelo Solymar: Great resort, great time!

We stayed at Barcelo Solymar for 10 days beginning January 24, 2016. There are many options for the type of accomadations you would like, we chose a superior room. It was large and very clean. Our maid was excellent and the fridge was kept stocked with water, soda and beer. It is a great place for couples, families or singles as the clientele is a very mixed crowd and the resort is large enough for everyone. The staff at the resort were always friendly and helpful . The resort is also within walking distance to downtown flea markets and shopping, Of course the beach is fantastic, well kept and lots of seating areas in both sun or shade. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Fantastic Vacation!

This was our first all inclusive vacation in years, and it was great. We had been booked into the Colonial, however when we arrived, they were overbooked and we were moved to the Palace. Little did we know when we booked, there was a country music festival on the grounds (the other end of the resort past the Caribe/Beach), and the 5 resorts were at capacity. Speaking of the buffets, the food was quite good - both selection, flavour and quality. Also, the staff in the restaurants were fantastic. In fact, we would always seek out one specific waiter - Yhashua. What a lovely young man. He is taking schooling on his days off for hotel management, and when we return in a few years, we hope to see him in a supervisory position! Also, whoever put Luis in charge of the 2pm pool entertainment was a genius - he was hilarious. Loved playing bingo with him, and my husband played pickup volleyball with him as well. The pools were very nice. I had the lap pool all to myself in the mornings. There were 2 gyms, 1 in the Palace and one near the beach by the Colonial/Caribe. That gym was far nicer and bigger than most gyms I've see here in Canada. It was obviously new, and the equipment was top notch. The room itself was also very nice... but we didn't spend much time in it. We did 3 excursions - Xel-ha, Rio Secreto and Ek Balam/Cenote - all of which I would recommend. We also snorkeled in the ocean right off the beach. There were lots of fish, and large sea turtles. Definitely bring your snorkel gear if you have some! We ate at 3 of the specialty restaurants - the Italian in the mall, the Brazilian in the Palace, and the French in the Palace. By far, the best was the French! If you get the chance, definitely eat there. We didn't think it would be for us, but everything there was amazingly delicious, and the staff were fabulous! All in all, great vacation, and we would return again! Now that we've experienced the Palace, it would be the resort of choice on our return trip.

Barcelo Karmina: Awesome

Had no complaints about this resort. This is the first resort we really enjoyed since our 15 years of travellling. Food and service was very good. Very clean! We would go back and we recommended this resort to our friends.

Barcelo Huatulco: Nice trip

Older, smaller hotel that makes a big effort too make it's guest feel welcome. Weather was nice and hot. 2 good days on the beach. Drop off is very steep into the ocean. Would stay in the pools if you aren't a strong swimmer.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Amazing, relaxing vacation

Beautiful resort....well maintained and amazing staff. Large resort but easy to get around to the Palace or golf course and found walking to be faster than waiting for the train. Food was good and very consistent from day to day at the buffet restaurants. Sante Fe steakhouse at the Palace was our favourite a la carte and reservations were never a problem. Adult side is quiet and low key and rooms are older then the palace but everything worked and bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended for couples and golfers...staff at the course were great and 19th hole restaurant was awesome

Barcelo Huatulco: Mexico's Hidden Jewel

Hotel Just a nice size, not too big. Noticed Barcelo a great Family Resort Rooms All updated and very clean. Modern bathrooms, toiletries & hairdryers available along with ironing boards and irons. Stocked bar fridges in room with water, soft drinks and beer and peanuts. Beds usually 2 queens in a room and very comfortable!! Staff Excellent! Go out of their way to please you. Hats off to Edgar for helping our daughter with her gluten free allergy made special food for her!! Great selection of food. Hot dogs, hamburgers & ice cream cones for the kids. Activities & Money Kayaking, catamaran sailing and sea doo's free of charge. Excursions available at a price or take a cab into town. 40 peco's for 4 of us to share a cab. $1 U.S. = 15 peco's I coke = 8 peco's. Very safe to take a cab and walk around town. Pool bar, adult pool and children's pool. Kept ver clean. Beach, steps away from hotel on site. Long beautiful beach. Just watch for under tow. You can't beat this place for the money! Barcelo Huatulco: Very clean and comfortable

Very clean. Staff was amazing, Friendly, looked after your every need. Nice beach, the water was a little rough. They say this is the safest area in Mexico and I believe that. Food was better than some places I've been to.

Barcelo Tambor: Beautiful resort and beach!

Our vacation was pretty much perfect. Nothing but sunshine and blue sky. Resort was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. Lots of birds and other wildlife around. Very natural setting. Not commercialized like so many other places we have been to. It is a long trip to get there though if you go by bus and ferry. I would recommend to go by small air plane from San Jose to the resort. It is only a 30 minute ride compared to 5 hours by ferry. I would go ho [... read more]me by ferry though because you do get to see a lot of the country and stop to shop in a small town on the way back. But either way it is a great place to vacation.

Barcelo Karmina: great place to rest and recharge

well kept resort, lots of positive people helping out, food was good, an excellent place for us to enjoy sun and warmth. we would go back and enjoy again. Good pools and gym. Nice balcony to enjoy morning sun as well.
