Valentin Perla Blanca Paraiso: Would recommend

The resort was pretty nice, beach was amazing, Pools were amazing, staff was pleasant, bars and drinks were great.. food was crappy but that's Cuba.. lots of mosquitoes while we were there, so bring bugspray.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great Resort

Although we only got to enjoy 5 and a half days due to Cubana air flight delay the resort was great. The food was more than adequate, lots of choice. A la cartes service was ok but the food served did not reflect the menu. The bar servers were courteous and very efficient.(Thank you Yireni) Our room was clean and comfortable. (Thank You Georje in Privilege building #9) Good entertainment, many activities by the pool. Massage therapy not worth the money. Beach has beautiful sand not enough shad [... read more]e and no bathrooms close by. No attendant available to rent scooters or cars.(Hit and miss) The grounds were well maintained. We happened to be at the resort when the mosquitoes were at their peak. Smogging during the day seemed ineffective and a health concern. We would rate this resort a 3.5 star.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Wonderful resort

The staff were amazing, the beach and pool were unbelievable and the hotel room was impeccable. Overall such a wonderful experience. Even the food was impressive- so much choice and you could tell the effort put into each and every dish.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Best resort so far in Cuba

Hotel was beautiful, the beaches are the best we have seen and the food was excellent. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy. They had quality liquor at the lobby bar and made a variety of coffee that were all excellent.

Memories Paraiso: Memories Paraiso Resort, Cayo Santa Maria, CUBA

Just returned from this resort. Memories paraiso and Azul doesn't exist - Resort was divided into 3 sections, the low end is called 'Memories Paraiso Resort' (only). RESORT - Grounds/lobby/buffet area is clean - bungalows need minor repairs, rooms were clean, however, bathrooms need to be renovated and oval toilets installed (room and public washrooms had square toilets with oval seats) FOOD - not much of a selection, very similar choices lunch/dinner every, however, they did have freshly gri [... read more]lled fish, chicken and beef every day. Morning breakfast was good, omelets/eggs every morning. Tried the Mexican a-la-carte, very tasty except the tortilla was actually a crepe. - Pool grill - not worth going to ENTERTAINMENT - was poor, they didn't advertise is well, 2 nights was guest participation, 1 night there was nothing because the entertainment was at a market on the other side of the resort which they never advertised - poor entertainment was never advertised, we just happened to show up around 4pm and there was something, 3 days there was nothing and I never experienced the foam party, they showed a picture on their enterainment board but it never happened. Some servers were friendly and worked for their tip but most never smiled and only came around once - I tipped at the end not at the beginning. BARs - guys never smiled, they all seemed to hate their jobs or something or perhaps I needed to flirt and show them some pesos. BEACH - was nice, cabanas/beach walkway need serious repair. Water was fabulous. I had a good time, my kids and I made the best of it - but I won't be returning to this place, not worth the money, shouldn't cost no more then $900/person(high season) - I would rate this resort a 3.5*.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Large resort, some improvements could be made

The resort is quite large and at first glance lovely. I did find that the resort could use a good cleaning. There seemed to be many people around to do the cleaning but the job didn't seem to be done well. The food was also an issue. I'm not a fussy person but there were days I struggled to find something to eat.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great vacation!

After reading some mixed reviews I was nervous with what to expect, but our stay was great, this resort met our expectations. Food was as good as expected, having been to Cuba before. The grounds (landscaping) needs some work but the beach is beautiful and that's why we go! All in all, we have no real complaints. This was a typical Cuban 4 star resort.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice resort

The grounds were beautiful lots of flowers gardeners were all ways working hard rooms were have nice and clean showers great lots of water pressure and always hot could use a little more night life but overall nice resort would return

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Very Nice Cuban Resort

I have no real complaints about the resort. I'll go one by one. ROOM... Nice room, the bed was harder than I prefer but that is me. The AIR conditioning kept the room cold the water was warm(not hot) and the bar fridge was full. POOLS...All were clean, side pools are in good shape, Main pool needs more tiles replaced. BEACH...Most beautiful clear water and whitest sands I have seen. Not a lot of sand, but enough.Only complaint is the same at all resorts and that is people "reserving" chairs an [... read more]d then not being there for hours. I do not believe in this practice. KIDS CLUB...People were very good, my daughter liked it and wanted to go. But even though there were kids on the resort almost no kids went to the club. FOOD...Eat at the Asian restaurant, it was excellent. The buffet was good especially for Cuba. Did not find the Itailiab as good as I hoped. HELP...Very good nice people everywhere. Overall I would definitely go back. Which I can not say for the other 2 stays I have had in Holgiun and Cato Coco.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Average experience

This hotel appears to be modern in design but disappointing on cleanliness and needs a lot of TLC. The pool sizes are great and there is plenty of seating but again needs to be cleaned. Always empty glasses everywhere and needs many minor repairs. The beach are is beautiful but very narrow and rocky. The food was average. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Exceeded expectations

Great experience would recommend this resort. The service and accommodations were excellent. We loved the beautiful beach. We enjoyed excellent snorkelling and saw hundreds of fish just a short distance from shore. The workers are friendly and very helpful. We hope to go back to this resort in the future as it exceeded expectations.

Valentin Perla Blanca: What you would expect!

The resort itself was fairly nice. The rooms and hotel/pool area were very relaxin and comfortable. Only complaint about this resort is lack of decent food which is what I expected when booking to Cuba. It seems to be the trend with most Cuban resorts so it wasn't a make or break for the trip. After a couple days you get accustomed on what to eat or not so don't let that hinder your decision on going!

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Not worth the money

I've been to Santa Maria before and it is my favorite part of Cuba, but Starfish Cayo Santa Maria was much older then my previous resort. The rooms were not very nice and there were a lot of bugs such as cockroaches. The food was not great, the snack bar served the best food including the a la cartes. The beach is amazing but there is limited shade and I found this frustrating.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Nice Beach

Room was great with a nice big walk-in shower. It's a newish resort so things are not fully grown yet. When walkways and hard surfaces are wet they are very slippery. Pools are nice with plenty of lounge chairs and shade. The beach was long and narrow with lots of chairs and palapas. The problem is the food and restaurants. There is no reservations for à la carte restaurants which makes for long line ups. The buffet does not open untill 6:30pm for supper and there was a line up for that too [... read more], and often the food was cold.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Fantastic resort

The valentine perla blanca is a fantastic getaway for adults. The grounds are kept prestin and the level of service is 5 star for sure.there is always something to do never a boring day there.the food is fantastic for Cuba. I wI'll be returning to the resort loved it.is highly recommend upgrading to the privilege package. It gives you more al la carte dinners and a private breakfast area also a private lounge and late checkout

Roc Lagunas del Mar: worth the money!

the grounds were absolutely beautiful.the service was excellent and the beach had something for everyone including the great snackbars.we have travelled to cuba 15 times and next to the Pullman in cayo coco this was our favourite.the negative reviews were unwarranted or they have fixed their issues.a person shouldn't complain about a long ride from the airport when they know about this up front.thanks warwick

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Phenomenal resort!

This is our second visit to this resort in Cuba and did a 10 day all inclusive this time. The staff are so warm and friendly, the grounds beautifully landscaped and the beach is breathtaking. The food offers many options from the crepe bar in the buffet, the snack bar with great burgers and unique yummy pizza, the beach BBQ chicken and calamari is additive and succulent lobster in the French a la carte. Oh and I can't forget the "to die for ice cream."

Roc Lagunas del Mar: So so week

A few things need we didn't like about the resort , The pools we never cleaned all week while we there so we never go in them . The Catamaran excursion we took was more then disappointing as we went back to the same spot twice to go Snorkeling .There was a bay of water we only coasted around in for most of the trip. It seemed like they was trying to kill as much time as they could . the resort staff was great ,food was ok, rooms were great. Not a bad week but wouldn't go back .

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Paradise!!

I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with Dhawa! The hotel was stunning, so clean and fresh. Everything was brand new. The staff was amazing, I have never felt so spoiled in my whole life, honestly I was waited on hand and foot. One day after I had too much sun my lovely room attendant showed up with soothing lotion for my burn. How incredibly sweet was that?! It was very quiet during our stay, we never had to wait on anything, there were never any lines. The food was decent and plent [... read more]iful as were the drinks. The beach was clean and quiet and I never had to leave my spot for food or drinks. There were fish in the water that came right up and swan around us. They are still in there soft open so there were a few very small things that they are still working on. For example the food in the buffet had no signage which was difficult for me as I have a serious food allergy. Overall the whole week was amazing and I would go back in a heart beat!

Memories Paraiso: First time the buffet tables in a Cuban resort are actually hot!

Travelled Apr 26. All round good value for the money considering we got a reduced rate.I wouldn't pay full price for this place, the long bus ride is a drawback. Santa Maria is 1.75 to 2 hours from the airport . Sunwing should get a 2 for this part of the package.Out of 6 bus trips to Santa Maria we have not had one with a washroom. It should be a must for a long bus ride.Our group of 8 was split up on 2 buses and our luggage was going to stay on the first bus when we got moved to a second bus  [... read more]because of a lack of seats. NOT! If you have a large group traveling together make arrangements with the bus tour guide who is checking your names off a list to reserve enough seats for your group. Check in was OK , rooms were clean and things worked well except several rooms phones were not working. Resort was only one quarter full. That was great for most services as the Buffet was uncrowded and facilities were easily kept clean. I have to give them points for the buffet. It is the first resort I've seen for a lot of years that the hot tables in the buffet were turned on and all the food being served from them was hot.Food was a bit repetitive and not a lot of extras. Didn't see any lobster served.They did not have a crepes/pancake station for breakfast. Staff was very pleasant and helpful probably because there weren't as many guests so they could be more attentive and have less understaffed problems to deal with. Most complaints I read sounds like times when the place is full and staff can't keep up with cleaning and repairs.
