Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Very very happy with this resort.

Amazing resort! The food was great. Loved the pools and beach. With a new resort there are always a few bugs to work out but I think they are in the process of doing that. Was fun to to visit the family side for the entertainment.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Amazing food!

Loved this hotel! Clean, easy to access everything. Staff were friendly and helpful. Gym is huge and well equipped and the food at the buffet was like nothing I have ever seen. Great place for families.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great for families!

The property is beautiful and very well kept. Our rooms were large. Housekeeping was good but not always consistent when it came to renewing coffee accessories. Excellent, friendly staff but disappointed with Concierge who wasn't much help., possibly because she had too many people to handle. Disappointed in entertainment, especially the lack of anything special on New Year's Eve, just a singer and not the party advertised. The property is not really accessible for the disabled. I had a w [... read more]alker with me and would not have been able to mount stairs to buffets without help as there were no handrails. Good variety of food. Great for families but a bit overcrowded. Difficult to get chairs by pools and beach as other residents had claimed them by leaving their towels on them really early in the morning and then left them empty while they went off somewhere else leaving other residents searching for somewhere to sit. Overall, a good experience. Weather was certainly lovely!

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Great quaint adults only resort

It was our first time at this resort and found it very nice, quiet and relaxing. It's a small resort where everything is easy and quick to get to. Our room was 3301 which is right by the buffet, lobby and lobby bar. The room was a newer room and it was one of the best rooms we've ever had in all our years of traveling (23 yrs). The beach was very nice, the water was not calm at all that week (like in some pics we've seen online where the water was very calm and clear). There were som [... read more]e crazy waves which made it fun but you always had to be on guard or you'd get hit and knocked over and in no time you'd be under water so there was no relaxing in the water. It has a great beach to walk long distance on. It rained 4 days out of the full 6 days we were there and our last 2 full days, my husband got sick from the food. His second day being sick he went to the medical center on the resort. They hooked him up to IV fluids with meds, did blood work, urine and fecal tests to make sure he was ok to fly back home. All tests came back negative so they figured it was something he ate. We believe it was the Caesar salad from one of the a-la-carte restaurants we ate at the night before he got sick. We ate the same food except for that. The medical staff were awesome and very knowledgeable. They would come to our room and check on the IV, change it and give him more meds (thank you Dr. Ana Santos and nurse Luisa). The food is so-so, you don't go hungry and neither do the cats. If you don't like animals around you when eating, this place may not be for you. The buffet and the one outdoor a-la-carte restaurant has cats that hang out around the tables. We are not pool people so can't really comment about the pool. We would most likely return to this resort at some point.

Ocean El Faro: Frequent washroom runs

The grounds were great, the beach rocky and secluded and the entertainment ok. However the biggest issue we had was diarrhea. We had constant runs to the bathroom. We witnessed staff cleaning cups with water alone, no soap. Would not recommend it to others.

Riu Bambu: Great staff and customer service

Great staff providing service in room cleaning, beach towel, animation: morning program including stretching, zumba, dance classes, restaurants. Food was in good in quantity not so much in quality and presentation. Entertainment shows had great dancers. The sound and stage background was mediocre.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Another Great Stay

My husband and I traveled to the Bahia Luxury Bouganville, Adults Only, La Romana Dec 10-20/23. We booked it through Trip Central.ca and they were fantastic to work with- quick response and very customer focused. We love the Bahia Principe brand as we know what to expect and it consistently delivers on all fronts. The package we bought was also incredible value for money. Here are some of the key points: excellent location, beautiful grounds and buildings, exceptionally clean, excellent food and [... read more] beverage option (buffet is exceptional and specialty restaurants, bars were all very good) and with tons of selection, large comfortable rooms with balcony and ocean view, plenty of lounge chairs with multiple locations to choose from (party pool, quiet pool, spa pool, lovely beach), for the most part the staff were friendly and service was great, entertainment/activities were available if you wanted it and guaranteed good weather. We went to unwind, decompress, reconnect and not do much of anything other that rest, relax, eat and drink. We would highly recommend it and will continue to book Bahia for this kind of "all inclusive" vacation. Doesn't get any better that this.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Exceeded my expectations!

I loved my stay at Emotions. Loved the food! A lot of selection! The rooms were very nice, no hot water but not horrible! Difficult to book an a la cartes unless you bribe with $$$. Everything was close together and easy to walk to. First time I would say I would return to a resort! The cleaning lady did not lock sliding door twice to our ground floor room which was not great!

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Viva Tangerine was quite nice!

A beautiful resort right on the ocean. Multiple pools with ample lounge chairs/sunbeds/table seating. Lots of loungers on the beach in a beautiful semi-shaded palm grove too. Great buffet & a variety a la carte options . Tennis/beach v-ball/table tennis/ foosball/board games all available. Drawbacks? Good Wifi, but limited to common areas/pool deck. Nothing in rooms. Not a lot of hot water. Shower early in the day. Only one main bar continuously open. Line-ups occurred at peak times in the day.  [... read more]Bring your own Yeti to fill. Excellence Punta Cana: Great Resort!

We stayed in the Club Section which was close to the pools and the ocean. The room was great-we chose the Ocean View Junior Suite. Concierge service was always available if we needed anything Mini bar was always stocked and we could ask for our preferences. Hendriks at the Club Pool was amazing. Good pool service for drinks. High-quality alcohol at all bars. Crown Royal, was requested for our room and we got it. The wonderful staff is happy to help and not soliciting tips but we were generous wi [... read more]th them. Fantastic New Year's Eve Celebration and meal. Paella at the pool was great! Musical Entertainment from 6 to 9 every evening was pleasant. Some of the shows were not high quality except for the magic show and the circus show. Michael Jackson's show never happened for the 2 weeks we were there although it was announced each week. Texas Hold 'em every day was fun. Great variety of restaurants Chez Isabel was my favourite but the service seemed rushed and not as elegant as I would have assumed for a French restaurant. Lots of activities, if you want them Comfortable beds at the pool and the beach and lots of them available Ocean a bit rough and not for everyone. We will return- this was our first trip to this hotel

Resort was good value considering what we paid. The food seemed to be a common complaint in other reviews. It was mediocre and repetitive, but it had taste and we never went hungry. Management of food service could be improved for greater consistency. There were vegetarian and vegan options at each meal, but the options became repetitive. The resort it's self was very nice. We were there at the peek in the last 1.5 weeks of December. It was busy but never felt overly crowded. The location  [... read more]is a ~1.75 hour drive from PUJ, so be ready for the long drive if you are flying into that airport. On the plus side the somewhat remote location meant there was only one resort in the area and the streets around this resort felt more local and authentic. The beach was also pretty quiet. The gym was very well equipped with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, dumbbells, and various weight stations. Drinks at the bars were somewhat limited. We aren't big drinkers and were ok with the selection. Staff were very friendly and present. Many of them didn't speak English but customer service did, and they all seemed to know enough English words that we never had issues communicating. The resort had excellent WiFi throughout. We stayed in the Deluxe room. It was large and comfortably housed 4 people, however it was one room with no dividers. Overall, we would book again given the opportunity.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Totally mediocre resort with a beautiful beach

We did have a good trip, the weather and beach were beautiful but the resort itself meh. The food isn't great, breakfast is by far the best meal as you can order eggs and omelettes and there's always fresh fruit. Other than that the food is pretty terrible even at the restaurants which are a pain to book. You have to wait in a line in the lobby which can take several hours and they only book certain days at a time, so chances are you'll have to wait in the line more than once. That said, the res [... read more]taurants are better than the buffet so worth the wait. The best drinks, coffee and service are in the lobby bar. Linarda greeted us every morning with a smile which we appreciated, she was attentive and super friendly. You have to specify that they make your coffee with the espresso machine otherwise they'll go out back and serve you lattes or whatever out of an automatic machine which are disgusting. We took our own towels which we were grateful for as they ran out sometimes.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great Christmas Holiday !!!

We just spent 7 days at the Grand Aquamarine in Punta Cana. I have been to many all inclusives over the years, and the Aquamarine (adults only) ranks as one of the best. The grounds are great. The room (after an upgrade to poolview) was fabulous. The quiet end of the pool where we hung out was chill. The food was good, however, a bit of a challenge as my wife and I are vegan. We could manage to find choices in the buffet and did alright at the restaurants. The language barrier (we don't speak  [... read more]spanish) made it a challenge to ensure that what we were served was in fact vegan. But that is the struggle of a vegan and it is not in anyway a bad mark on the resort. The staff at all levels was friendly and very helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back for another week.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Had a good time

The hotel has a lot of amenities, restaurants pool beaches, and they are very close to one another. You don't have to walk too much to get around. The food is good, lots of variety. I liked the French restaurant.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Very Enjoyable Vacation!

Beach was great, clean and gets top marks. Resort is one of several bunched together and busy during peak times. Best choice is to go adult only. Restaurant staff are great in Portofina and Rodizio. Aquamarine needs to improve on more English-speaking staff in key places - like front desk. One staff member to definitely single out is assistant manager Kevin Mars - professional, caring and treats you like family. Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great water,beach

Playa dorada is a great mature area. Beautiful gardens and mature trees. Sun scape is friendly and clean. Some amenities were not available at our time for some reason. We expected a little more as was described but had a great time away from work and hustle bustle.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Terrible service, terrible rooms, don't waste your time and money

Unless you wave wads of cash around, don't expect any service from anyone. Also, never go here expecting a good room, or if you have a toddler or younger. Our room had a glass door leading to the bathroom, and another glass sliding door next to the bed, that led to the shower. That leaked water into the main area everytime someone showered, which meant that we had to put a towel on the floor next to the bed. The room's phone didn't work because its battery had leaked and destroyed the contact [... read more]s. Rather than replace it, some random guy took the phone from the adjoining room and swapped it. From then on, any number we called thought that we were calling from that room, and we had to correct them every time. Also some lights didn't work, and the asking for cleaning, didn't mean that we got fresh towels, so we had to make another call just for that. Unlimited drinks is a joke, because the bartender will literally ignore you most of the time, or say that they don't make drink x or y, or just give a drink with nothing but ice in it. The app doesn't work to reserve restaurants (something even the staff told us) and you will need to find the one desk in the resort where they can help reserve for you. But then again, the restaurants don't provide good food or service, so you might as well just go to the buffets. General theme: Terrible service unless you pre-tip the right people or wave around a wad of USD to get someone's attention.

HM Alma De Bayahibe Hotel: Very nice resort

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The resort is kept very clean and the pools are cleaned and beautiful. I would recommend this resort and would go back in a minute.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Excellent Resort

The accommodations were excellent. Top notch. The food was beautifully presented and delicious in all of the restaurants. The service was fabulous. The coffee bar was a real treat. The beach was wonderful. Our only complaint is that the music was too loud every where and overlapped from the pool to the restaurants. It was difficult to have a conversation and became very tiresome and annoying. Overall, beautiful place and would highly recommend.

Secrets Cap Cana: Excellent Vacation at Secrets Cap Cana, DR

We loved our holiday this December at Secrets, Cap Cana. The resort was stunning. Our room was beautifully decorated and well air conditioned with all the amenities. The service was the best I’ve ever had. Activities were sent to our phones every day. There was a lot to do: aquabics, zhumba, biking, waterpolo, volleyball, archery. Yoga…There was always food available. I would highly recommend this resort!!!
