The Sens Riviera: Very good

Very good hotel for this price. Very good beach, grounds, food good, the rooms are good but second and third floors no balconies. Service very good. Entertainment normal. For me very nice that almost no insects.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Not what we expected

Too crowded and TOO noisy, a lot of drunk people misbehaved in the halls after 10 PM. Dirty beaches: seaweed all over the place and wastewater from mangrove forests that prevented us from swimming in the last two days. The crew was generally welcome, helpful and professional. Good food despite the covid restrictions. Great gym. Basically, it's one big hotel with lots of pools and good entertainment. Nonetheless, I would not go there ever again and hence would not recommend it to others.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Beautiful resort - so so food

The room was beautiful with a comfortable kingsize bed. Bathroom huge with jacuzzi bath and shower room. Drinks were fine but the meals were hit and miss. I felt we overpaid for this resort. Would not recommend it.

TRS Yucatan: Great resort, just not what we were looking for at all!

This was a beautiful resort, just totally not what we wanted. We enjoy a pool with water aerobics, and beach right there in front of us. At the TRS Yucatan, it was a 4 kilometer ride to the beach. We tried to get moved as we have asked to do a few times in the past and had a lot of push back and waiting. Sunwing then wanted to charge us 1700. to move! The supervisor of TRS, Betty was informed we were not satisfied and did everything in her power to make us happy. I am grateful for her, she [... read more] did her best but this resort was way to big for our liking. I feel very disappointed in Trip Central and Sunwing. The first full three days were a nightmare trying to get moved. No service outside of poor Betty who really couldn't change the situation. I sent the following email in response. "In the past 20 years, we have had 2 situations where we were unhappy with our choice and were moved within 24 hours with a charge of approximately $100.00 for both, or each of us. We are totally disgusted with the slow and useless service offered on behalf of Sunwing and will never deal with Sunwing Vacations again. After spending over $4000.00, the service you offered was useless, giving us an option late on day 3 ( which did not land in my email until day 4 AM) and saying we would have to pay an additional $1700.00. Really poor customer service!! Tripcentral was not much better, however apparently out of the hands of our apologetic agent. Perhaps you can work on that too. We even had to choose options, if we do all of the prework, what are you (Sunwing) there for? If you cannot trust the hotels you work with, how is that our problem? This was never a problem before, in fact we were given options. On a positive note, TRS had a supervisor contact us and Betty was amazing. I wanted to make it clear to Betty, her resort was beautiful, just not what we enjoy. We made it clear we do not like large resorts, we were told TRS was a small part of a large resort, the beach was " right next to resort" , when in fact the TRS beach was over 3.5 kilometers away, an 8 minute trolley ride. Betty tried to upgrade us, made reservations for us twice, contacted us daily to make sure we were okay. Betty was the true picture of customer service. Finally, I want to suggest making these things clear, adult property with a beautiful beach 3 to 4 kilometers away (or 1 kilometer away if you want kids on your adult trip)."

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: A very relaxing vacation at Valentin Imperial

I am satisfied with the meals (different restaurants and breakfast buffet), the room, the beach, the pool, and staffs’ service. I enjoyed my vacation and it was a very good experience to stay in this resort.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Home sweet home

The Barcelo in the Mayan Riviera, is a wonderful place to go to and the reason we, along with others, keep going back (9 years). 1. The staff is wonderful (front desk, servers, maids, activity staff). 2. Grounds are immaculate. 3. Rooms are great. 4. The food is varied and one can always find options. 5. One feels safe on the resort. If there is one wish is that the shows at night be updated (same overall for the last 9 years). Barcelo Maya Caribe: One of the best we ever been so far

First of all I want to make this clear that we been travelling for a number of years with our boys who are 17 and 15 now and this resort we can say that is definitely one of the best so far. This resort was "Perfect for our family". A couple of downfall that I thing they should maybe reconsider and after speaking to several people on the resort we mostly all felt the same. Here is what I think they could easily modify or change and this would make this resort even more awesome. -We  [... read more]are in 2020 and we all know that internet is a big part of our lives, I don't understand why we still need to pay for internet. I know that there was free WIFI from 10 to 5 at the mall however what an inconvenience when you are sitting at the beach and you know you have to get dress to go up do just do your daily check up. -The need to have a parent to sign off to have access to basketball, ping pong, tennis racket etc. I understands that they need some kind of control however maybe the age of this could be reviewed. Every time they wanted to play a sport we had to walk over with them to sign off. - No enough bar close to the beach. We had brought a little cooler and we would fill it up with ice and put the beer we had in our rooms in it so for us that worked but I know some people they don't drink beer so I know that was another downfall of this resort. Those are just a couples of things that we feel if it would change this would honestly would push this resort another notched. The beach is one of the most beautiful I've seen so far in Mexico. One of our best experience was swimming with turtle at the Palace Beach. WOW what a great experience that was and I honestly can say this was one of the biggest highlight of our trip. We would definitely recommend this resort and I've already did recommended this to a few of our friends and they are actually looking to book this resort for next year. Would we go back just my husband and I no because it's very kids oriented and we prefer smaller resort. However I would definitely go again if my kids

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great resort

We enjoyed our stay very much: the rooms were VERY spacey (we had 2 bedroom suite and with 3 kids we had lots of space), a bit dated but still OK. The food was great in all the restaurants, the staff was great too. The beach was OK, nothing special but serviceable. One thing that we missed was a playground for our youngest son, he didn't like the kids club much (which was certainly OK).

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Great buffet

We stayed last week in the family section. Nice large room and double sink bathroom. It’s about an 11 minute walk to the beach or you can take a cart. The path is lined with beautiful gardens and trees. The family area has a nice pool with a swim up bar. There is music but it’s more chill than the pool down at the beach. The family area is also close to the nice breakfast buffet at El Gaucho. The small buffet at the beach is great for lunch and you sit outside with a view of the ocean. I would make myself a fresh taco salad with their amazing guacamole. The dinner buffet had a lot of variety, grilled meat and a pasta bar. I like that the pasta bar sautéed toppings like vegetables. The beach was amazing, I enjoyed walking far out on the sand bar. There are lots of chairs and some shade. Note the sun is very strong there. The burritos at the Mexican place Chitya (sp?) were also nice. The cupcake cafe was great for an early morning latte. Great place to walk around and see coatis, iguana or the resort cats. Sorry cat lovers some of the cats are shy but one let me rub their belly. Service was always good. I enjoyed water aerobics with Judith in the infinity pool. She made it fun. We took the cab ride over to Sandos Caracalla. It has a nice gentle snorkeling adventure. Nice vide in the lobby, I like how it has the open bar area.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: very pleasant resort, fairly modern and spacious

very clean grounds, spacious-very nice rooms, workers very pleasant, beautiful landscaped grounds, great suppers at Rodeo Grill and very good at other restaurants, made lots friends only bad! experience at fondue restaurant no-serv! the beach (too rocky!) but overall very happy to have spendt 7-days, hope go back and stay longer!

We were a party of 4 adults who stayed in the Adults section of the resort! The food was really good, the grounds were beautiful and well kept! The grounds keepers work very hard to keep it looking nice! The sand on the beach was raked and cleaned of grass and seaweed daily! Would like to mention how hard Jemmima works taking drink orders and delivering them none stop! This lady is incredible! also Wilbur at the pool bar makes wonderful drinks, and works none stop! Bahia Principe Explore Coba: 4/5

The grounds were really well kept, as were the rooms. Initially we got dropped off at the wrong lobby hotel which was slightly irritating but amazing trip overall. Buffet had lots of variety. Italian and gourmet restaurant were excellent!

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Your home away from home!

Spent 10 days at Panama Jack Resort Playa del Carmen and wish we would have booked longer. From the moment we arrived everyone welcomed us like we were family. A special thanks to Oscar, chef Crescensio, chef Armando in the dining room for our special last supper. What an awesome touch! Nightly entertainment was great, thanks Sergio. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Would not call it amazing

Heard great reviews but This resort was highly disappointing. From the time you enter, sales staff on your case. To the pool chair rules, to the LONG wait for restaurants. Couldn’t even get into one of the restaurants we wanted to try. Food was not great The constant loud music at night. Would not recommend this resort.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Wow! Beautiful Hotel and gorgeous location.

The Barcelo Riviera Maya was stunning! Modern, extremely clean and very spacious. It has only been opened a few months and it is well on it’s way of getting everything just right. Definitely upgrade to the Oceanfront Rooms. However unless you plan to party late in to the hours request a room that is further away from the Music Bar and Front Lobby. Although it was almost soundproof when we closed the sliding door the rhythm of the music seemed to pound in the room a bit. We couldn’t sit out o [... read more]n our balcony and have a conversation. The Breakfast and Lunch Buffets were amazing offering anything you can imagine presented beautifully and was delicious! Staff was very attentive but at times were not quick with simple requests like tea when the self serve area was closed. There were 4 a la carte Restaurants for dinner dining, French, Mexican, Italian and Japanese. In order to not repeat we ventured to the Barcelo Restaurants in the 5 other Hotels and found the Barcelo Palace Brassiere Restaurant to be nice but noisy with a lot of young children. Did not like any of the others. The drinks served at the bars were great; you had several brand choices of each liquor. Disappointing was the wine selection with only one very poor quality Spanish wine being offered. Additional selections were available at a cost of approximately $100.US per bottle, at an all inclusive? Three times we were told that a complimentary bottle of wine was going to be sent to our room for various inconvenience situations we encountered and never did they show up. The drive from the Airport was long and some complimentary refreshments should have been served on the ride to the Hotel. In fact the same should have applied on the plane. All inclusive should be just that!! It is a Conference Hotel so it does lack that true tropical feel but once you see the ocean and the palm tree setting of the beach you know you are in Paradise!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Awesome stay

This is my 4th stay and it did not disappoint! The room, junior suite was great and the king size bed was very comfortable. Our housekeeper did a super job. A few issues with the room, TV and air conditioning but they were addressed immediately and there was always a follow up call . My hat goes off to all the staff who are efficient while being extremely pleasant at the same time. The buffet, is great as all the a la carte restaurants we visited, the Alux being my favorite. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Lovely visit, again

We visited the Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an again, 3rd time. It's a lovely place, small enough that you actually get to know staff and other guests a little. The pool areas can be busy but we always found a chair. Buffet is good. Rooms are nice, beds are comfortable. We had a couple of small issues (minibar not filled one day, A/c broke), but response was prompt, courteous and the desk followed up right away to ensure our satisfaction. You really can't ask for more than that. My sole critici [... read more]sm is the wait for trolleys. In previous years, it seemed trolleys were arriving all the time, very little wait. This has changed somewhat with what appears to be fewer trolleys. More people waiting for each trolley as well, due to the increasing number of residential properties being built and occupied. They will need to watch this, as it can become an issue. We have previously had no issue with the commute to the beach, but if the wait time for trolleys continues to increase, we might need to reconsider location. that said, it would take a lot to change our mind, the property, staff and overall experience are top notch.

Great resort layout everything is close for walking. Elevators available if need. Grounds well kept.junior suite adult section could use updating.Beach was great and beach service was also great the service and all staff are very attentive to anything you need or want .cant say anything about butler service didn't use. All the ala carte restaurant food was great, buffet could use more variety for lunch and dinner. Had no issues getting loungers at beach ,cant say about pools didn't use.could  [... read more]use more beer selection only dos x and dos x lite sol dos x dark . Some coors and corona would be nice.Over all resort for us was a perfect layout great service and food ,no complaints.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Great resort!

Resort was immaculate and not overly busy while we were there. There was no fighting for chairs either at the pool or beach. Great staff. Food was fantastic! Could have used some more upbeat music at the Music Bar earlier than 3:00pm but other than that no complaints!
