Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Must go!

My husband and I decided to have a quick getaway from the cold Montreal weather and we are so happy we did! We were not dissapointed at all! Jenn Black made it so easy to communicate with her, all the arrangements were made prior to our arrival and it was honestly such a stress free week. The hotel was clean, the staff is amazing and there are plenty of accessible ruins near the hotel. Thanks for a great week!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Getting dated

Hotel is getting dated many rooms smell very molded ask to be change to a different room on the 3rd day they try to putting a air freshers in the ac vent to stop the smell of mold. Went to lunch to fine hamburger buns have KKK BURN INTO THE BUNS. ON FRIDAY TO SUNDAY THEY WOULD FILL UP THE RESORT with locals. Buffet was same food everyday and most food stations were empty monday to Friday but on the weekends they would make sure to have all kinds of food for the locals. Transit rep in the coba was no help and if you ask when would they be at the coba we were told they only come there if anyone checks in other wise they were at the other two hotels tulum or the other hotel. They jam you in vans with no concerns for covid.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Renovated and Beautiful!

I changed my booking shortly after I booked at Tulum to Akumal because some friends were staying there but I regret not keeping my booking at Tulum! Tulum has been renovated and looks beautiful! Big bright signs all over the resort make it easier to navigate and find places like lobbies, restaurants and other amenities. The buildings themselves look newer as well as the balcony and doors. However, the beach is not as nice as it is near Akumal and therefore it is a bit far if you are looking for  [... read more]a good swimmable beach. BRING water shoes! the rocks on the ocean floor are sharp and everywhere. The food is really good and lots of different variety. The hotel staff are all great, friendly and really helpful. If you have friends staying at Coba, they won't be able to use get drinks at Tulum, which was not the case before. We went in September and the resort was mainly empty except for weekends.

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: Incredible resort

This is probably the best resort I have ever been to. The staff are incredibly knowledge, cheerful, attentive, and kind. The food is delicious, the grounds are beautifully maintained and landscaped. The artwork, design of the buildings and rooms, is top-notch. The included access to various Xcaret group parks and excursions is an incredible value and well worth it, I also recommend purchasing the photo packages so you don't have to use your own phone. The measures in place for COVID-19 included indoor masking, which was also encouraged while walking around the resort, temperature checks when entering buses and restaurants as well as contact tracing. Hand sanitizer stations were common and regularly provided when interacting with staff indoors.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Amazing resort!

Just stayed here for seven days, everything was perfect! Friendly staff nice rooms everything was clean food was amazing lots of options to choose from being a vegetarian, definitely would go back! Couldn’t ask for anything better

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Excellent resort for the value

This was my second time there and most times your second time turns out to be not as good as the first but it was the opposite great time and the workers from the door men to bar tenders to the entertainment girls and guys they were great and amazing respect for me and other guests at the hotel. There are no complaints on food every place l went was excellent. Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful latge property.

The food is top of the line- rspecially the Brazilian, Italian and French a la cartes. Only food complsint is that like all most Mexican resorts there is only milk rather than cream for coffee:( the resort is very latge so condider that if you jave monility issurs- buses run from different barcelo lobbies but not from the buildings that house rooms to lobby, restaurants etc. Do not waste money on the upgrade- to premium level. Beach is rocky and sandy but beautiful with sea turtles and natural life in the water.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Absolute luxury and top notch service!

This was hands down the most amazing resort vacation my husband and I did. We are already talking about going back! The resort its self is so stunning and modern. All the staff went above and beyond to provide the best experience possible. We loved the Mexican and taco bar restaurants the most- very authentic and so delicious. I never felt like I had to get close to people and always felt very comfortable. We never saw any staff without a mask and everything was suer clean. We really felt taken care of and pampered. Catalonia Playa Maroma: Safe to travel again

We just returned from our trip to Mexico. All in all it was a great getaway. The hotel was good. We don't really have any major complaints. Guessing things aren't perfect cause of the current situation (covid). They don't have all their staff due to the pandemic and the hotel not being fully booked. We found more people then we were anticipating. Our only disappointment was the a la cartes. You can't make reservations which was a huge disappointment cause the buffet got boring night after night. [... read more] We did manage to get to 2 a la cartes and they didn't have enough staff to handle the volume. The workers were running their tails off. We actually left 1 in particular cause after waiting over an hour after already seated our food came out cold. We could appreciate the wait with being under staffed but then to have it come cold was disheartening. We feel for the workers cause they were working so hard. The girls at the front seating for the a la cartes get stuck telling people they can't serve them or it's an hour wait. We have been to a Catalonia hotel in Mexico before and they took reservations. Seems like such a simple way to keep people happy. The dinner buffet really needs to add more variety or change it up more often

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Gorgeous resort , entertainment is non existant

This was our second time staying at this beautiful property Barcelo Maya Riviera. The grounds are beautiful, the hotel is spacious clean and gorgeous. The a la carte restaurants on site can be a problem with the reservation list and trying to get in so book them as soon as you get there with guest services. There are 5 other hotels you can go to eat at and you can book the a la carte restaurants there as well which is a good thing. The hotel entertainment is a problem at this resort. The  [... read more]first time we stayed there we thought oh , it is new they will get it organized in time. Two years later the entertainment at the resort is still a problem. The entertainment seems to be mostly Mexican themed and ends at 11pm totally shut down. When you speak with other guests it is the topic of conversation. The music at the outside bar is electronic mostly, very loud and if you are not a fan it is annoying all day. Hope they get this sorted out for it is a major problem. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing resort

However I had an incident, one of the staff who clean and makes the room, opened my room door to another guest and my brand new shoes that I purchased 3 weeks prior to my trip went missing. customer service employee came to my room and told me this employee has done and he has been fired unaceptable

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Awesome Experience!!!

I had an awesome experience at the barcelo maya colonial. The service was exceptional. If you've been thinking about that vacation, this place is a must try. Enjoyed a great lunch at the steakhouse.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Covid 19

The n site staff were awesome, the food was the best or any resort I've been to. Big call out to @Berto @Sergio for providing fun and being so accommodating all the time they truly were a joy to spend time with. A call out to all the staff that work tirelessly to make sure the grounds inside and outside are clean and kept healthy for everyone. Definitely a repeat customer here.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Disappointment

This resort is a COUPLE RESORT. 85% of the travellers will be couples. Therefore, the activities offered are for couples. POSITIVE : The thing i loved about the most about the hotel was the crew, they were very friendly. There is a restaurant called Bruchetta and Tao who tastes really good. Also, Book a swimout to have access to the party pool, you will have direct access to the fun. NEGATIVE : I hated everything else. Let’s start with the smell. The smell is everywhere in the ho [... read more]tel, even in your bathroom. It comes from the sea water swap right next to the beach which BTW IS FULL OF SEAWEED THAT IS NEVER CLEANED. There is also ants on the sands of the beach and they CRAWL ON YOU. Therefore, you’ve been warned. Regarding the food, if you are a picky eater, you won’t like the buffet. Also, you will never see the room service. For water, you need to go to room service to receive a bottle of water and wait 45min to receive it which is a but long. This is an honest review from 2 girls who spend 1 week in this hotel and wants you to have the best vacay possible.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: We Had a Great Time

I came here with my partner for a week and we had a fantastic time. All of the staff were incredibly friendly. Our room was clean and well air-conditioned, which was important because there were some really hot days during our stay. The buffets were awesome, as well as the a la carte restaurants. The buffet to the left of the adult pool had all our favouite foods. The shuttle service around the other parts of the resort was efficient and frequent. The beaches were very nice and well maintained. Seaweed wasn't an issue either. Overall, we had an awesome time and met some great people. We thank the staff for facilitating and participating in that!

Ocean Maya Royale: Nice stay!

Not fresh hotel but they trying to maintain it in good level. Beach can be improved with more sand and cleaning in time from seaweed.Poool is clean and beautiful. Food choice: satisfying,good selection of salads,fruits but main foods are limited by staff distribution. No direct access to the food. Constant temperature control before entrance to the restaurant, mask,gloves protocol in place.

Riu Palace Mexico: They take covid seriously

Beautiful hotel, well maintained rooms and grounds kept clean. Lots of covid precautions in place with sanitary gel at entry to hotel and restaurants and masks mandatory except when swimming, drinking or eating. temp checks also done before entering restaurants. You feel confident they are taking necessary steps to ensure safety of guests. Front desk was very helpful in arranging PCR test for return to Canada. Test conducted in your room and results come via email next day.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Not worth it. Dirty outdated resort.

Very bland. Extremely poorly kept and rooms, facilities and general areas are dirty and outdated. I would not recommend this resort. Stayed there with two children and rooms were dirty, bad ac, poorly serviced everything. Bland if not bad food.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: A surpisingly wonderful trip!

To preface, my family and I are big supporters of the Royalton chain of resorts so we were visiting Iberostar with much skepticism. HOWEVER, from the minute we walked onto the grounds we were instantly persuaded to think differently! My family landed super late as we took a late afternoon train from Canada, so everything at the resort was closed by the time we got checked in. The resort was much bigger than we have experienced before (at Royaltons) but with the frequent buggy carts and beautifully landscaped grounds, it did not feel that big at all! Strolling to the 'Mall' area from the beach for crepes and tacos was an enjoyable scenic walk that you wouldn't necessarily get from smaller resorts. Everything was spaced out elegantly and had enough 'breathing' room between buildings and facilities (it felt HUGE but small at the same time!). We absolutely LOVED the themeatic decor of the different mini resorts (Lindo, Grand, Playa & Beach), and the more we explored the more impressive it all became! A+ for beauty and design! Beds and rooms were clean and comfortable - we did not have any special diamond/premium level subscriptions but I did not notice anything lacking from our experience. Cleaning staff was always respectful and friendly and we very much appreciated the constant tidying up and straightening (something about coming to a cool, clean room after a day in the sun that is just so amazing!). No smell or weird stains anywhere - A+ for rooms and cleanliness. Bars and lounge spaces: I picked this resort due to their access to International Liquors (I prefer American bourbon). Not to seem pretentious, but I've noticed the quality of the resort directly depends on the quality of liquor they have readily available... Every bartender was fast, responsive and generally friendly! With such a big resort, we never stayed at any particular bar/area to make anyone stand out but all the spaces that we visited had wonderful staff and a welcoming area to hang out and have some drinks - A+ Beach area: Busy resort = busy beach, BIG resort = even busier beach! Factoring that variable, the beaches were great! Limited shade spaces at BEACH front, but a little further back there were enough natural trees to sit under that still have sand under your feet. Sand was cleaned and didn't notice any seaweed whenever we went. At Lindo there was a beach volleyball court (behind the main beach area), a beach snack/drink stand and some good space for entertainment activities. We LOOOVE going to the beach, and even though we often never got any loungers by the time we arrived, there was no complaints. NOTE: although there were not many loungers available, there were 2 STELLAR groundskeepers that went out of their way (almost daily) to pull up some chairs for us - without being asked!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Suffered Resort

Only Tulum and Akumal sites were stayed open with about less than 50% of occupancy. All levels of hotel staffs felt this difficulty time and provide extremely friendly services. The A La Carte restaurants are improved greatly comparing with many past visits in recent years. The Buffer is not consistent as usual with less choice (due the less visits?). A lot more natives stayed in resort for a short stay and Christmas dinner seems opened to public with many locals to fill in. However, the local  [... read more]language speakers had advantages with the services in the food court as the servers in the kitchen area speaks little English. Much more drunks talked loud and played the music in the public areas through the mid of the night 1:30am to 5pm almost every night except the strong windy night. It was the biggest suffer for us despite we requested a quiet room. More young people played loud music with their own portable speaker in the quiet all adult area. There were no staffs ever interference with these activities. All COVID preventions were understandable and reasonable. The Akumal is remains as four-star resort.
