Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Awesome Time

It was a beautiful resort. The pools are kept well and clean. The staff were energetic and fun. They engaged everyone during the evening shows. The food wasn't bad. There was something for everyone. Excellent place to bring kids. I would definitely go back again.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Amazing resort :)

We had a fantastic vacation at Iberostar Playa Pilar. The grounds were in fantastic condition, and our rooms were always well-cleaned every day. We had no trouble getting water from the housekeepers, or at the bar/restaurant. The pool was amazingly clean (grimy/dirty pools would be a deal-breaker for me) -- sometimes a bit chilly, but that could have been more from the wind than the actual temp of the pool. We especially liked the pizza, the omelette grill, the fresh-made pancakes, and all of the ice cream. There is also an ice cream and churro bar near the main pool, which was awesome. The staff were also very liberal with the coffee, which was very appreciated. The only drawback is that there is a charge if you lose your towel. I understand why, because with people going on excursions and stuff, they must have been losing a tonne of them. So if you're someone who doesn't keep track of things, maybe bring your own towels. Finally, the staff were AMAZING!!!! I cannot say enough good things about them. They were energetic and attentive, and so, so much fun. My kids (9&6) felt so special because they paid special attention to them :)

Hotel was awesome very good shows and staff good entertainment food was great deffinetly reccommend tryp over any other resort good for family or couples of singles nothing bad to say about this resort

Hotel Vigia: Substandard resort

Recently I have visited this resort but problems started from the beginning! We reached there at about 12 pm and the send us to Room 119. We had ocean view room booking with higher price but this room was with faulty lock and the bell boy failed to open it. We returned to the reception. They kept us waiting till 3pm and then sent us to Room 1011 but it was not a ocean view room! The next day the gave us a ocean view room at 3 pm. There was no tissue paper in the room and they didn’t changed  [... read more]towels even when it was thrown into the floor. Balcony door is so hard to open! There are 3 washrooms in the lobby for men. One is usable, 2nd is not and the 3rd has no commode cover! No toilet paper in the washroom for 2 days. There is a soap dispense in hand wash are but no soap during my stay. Hand dryer is not working and no paper towel as well. Only the beach is GOOD and that is not their credit!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great and family friendly.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the staff made us feel welcome and were very accommodating. This was my 2nd time staying there. The rooms and common areas were always clean. The staff is warm and friendly. The beach and the pool was the best part. Daily activities at both kept my family entertained at all times. The food was good and had many options to choose from. The nightly show was always nothing but sheer talent

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Under the Orion‘s belt

Hi my stay at resort was great loved the people. Food was ok however the safety devices are all destroyed which need to be replaced. Example if you were to throw somebody this donut in the water and they cut themselves on it while you’re trying to save their life they will probably turn around and sue you because they got cut. You’re saving the life tools should be top notch at all times. Including a response time of medical help. Both treadmills in the gym didn’t work for a Beautiful [... read more] little gym. The Gardner could use new tools to work with. Over all your resort is great and clean and the employees are very friendly Yanisey in customer service was very helpful and went beyond to help us when things went wrong. Tryp Cayo Coco: Great staff

The hotel was not the prettiest to the eye and the rooms were very dated (definitely could use an upgrade). The AC had one setting (super cold or hot) and ran 24/7 because there really isn’t any insulation keeping cold in and hot out. The food was very limited in the buffet and had a very hard time finding anything, breakfast and dinner were doable lunch was challenging. Mosquitos were killer so bring bug spray! The staff made your stay and when you’re paying such a low price it’s the value you receive. There was never a time I couldn’t get a drink or a pool/ beach chair. The resort is attractive moreso to singles/ couples/ more of a party scene. I had an amazing time, but it was not very kid friendly. The kids pool had a wire in it and wasn’t up kept in my opinion, very very slippery stones all around the children’s pool where my son slipped and fell multiple times. The kids entertainment was very minimal and night time kids show was just too late compared to other Cuban resorts I have attended. I don’t recommend this as a great family resort but more of a resort for relaxing drinks and no expectations. Although the stay was great I wouldn’t recommend the hotel from all the hotels I’ve stayed in within Cuba just because I’ve stayed in much better accommodations for similar price in different areas (holguin, Cayo Santa Maria and even Santa Lucia). If you can get over the food and the dated rooms and If you’re not travelling with little ones, it’s a great party resort and a great time.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Good Resort

It is a good resort, nice landscape and a beautiful beach. Food in bar and and restaurants is OK. Beach used for Caribe is too crowded with customers, hard to find chairs and spot to put them on the beach. Our room was nice and clean. My cellphone was stolen and I think (90%) it was stolen by people from the hotel crew, most likely by one of the artists performing on stage. It happened during "White Party".

Melia Jardines del Rey: Totally Recommend

For the price point, this resort is a great choice. The food is good, there is something for everyone, specially in the buffet. Rooms are basic, and very clean. The grounds are massive. And although you can still see the efects of the huricane (Irma 2017) they have rebuilt and cleaned up beautifully. Cant waiut to see how it will look when all the new palm trees grow back. Given the loaction, this is a perfect choice if you just want to come down for some R&R. We will definately come back!!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Nice.

Spent 7 days in December 2018. Very friendly staff, good food. Weather was not so nice. Nice beach. Warm ocean. Quiet place. Not too busy. Relaxing time. Hard to book dinners though. Changed rooms a few times, no problems. Regards Peter

Melia Cayo Coco: Good resort

It is much better than any other hotel I have been in in Cuba. Food was good, staff was friendly, rooms were adequate. A bit of a smell when the air conditioner is off. Drinks were good. Not enough staff to make them or deliver them as you waited almost 20 minutes to get a drink or coffee when there is hardly anyone in the lobby. That is the problem too there is no one to serve around the pool if there is it is only 1 person. That could be the time of year. Hotel Playa Paraiso: Amazing time away r&r

Great value. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great experience for the value. Would definately return. Felt extremely safe and valued by staff during my stay. Met several people who frequent cuba and have stayed in multiple places. They all consistently recommended Pestana and they where right. It exceeded my expectations!

Hotel Camino del Mar: A Great Value

A small friendly resort. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful beach The pier is a fantastic bonus. Food is good and available 24 hrs. Hotel is older, and shows it a little. Very clean. Amazing shape considering the hurricane damage of 2 yrs ago Price can’t be beat for the quality experience that you receive

Melia Costa Rey: Awesome resort!

We visited the Pullman Cayo Coco from Dec 9-16. We absolutely loved it. The staff are friendly and the service was great. Very clean rooms and resort grounds. Beach is spectacular. We will definitely be back.

Hotel Vigia: Best resort

We love SCG! Been there 15 times and it feels like going home. Staff are wonderful, beach is wonderful. Rooms are CUBA so don’t expect amazing accommodations but how much time do you spend in the room anyway? Always a selection of food that anyone can choose lots from!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: WONDERFUL FAMILY VACAY!

What a GEM for a Family Resort! Stunning beach, great staff from gardeners to Bartenders. Lots of fun activities, good food and warm sun. Travelled with 3 boys aged 6,10 & 15 and they all had a BLAST! We would definitely go back to this resort! Say hi to Aris at the pool bar for us if you go - and ask him for a surprise!

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Wouldn't rate it as a 4 star

Beach - really isn't one.....if you like to sit on the beach and have the ability to walk into the water to cool down then back to your chair, that isn't possible here. There is a beach and a lot of chairs but you have to walk on a pier and then down stairs to go for a swim. This is because the shore line is all rock. Rooms - are all very nice and they all face the ocean which was a plus. Food - boring. we have been to Cuba 10 times and this was probably the most disappointing for buffet.  [... read more]It wasn't even very warm and it didn't change much in the 4 days we were there. The cook stations were all very good and the staff were great. We went Dec 7-10 for a quick weekend get away, this was the first time we have done that as we normally stay 2 weeks. I am really glad this was a short stay. We were told this is part of their low season so they had fewer staff, this may explain the lack of drink variety and food. We would not visit this resort again.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Good Value

This hotel is about a 3.5 star hotel, very friendly staff, nice pool, great beach, and for Cuba even the food was pretty good. Quiet rooms, helpful front desk, not much to criticize. It used to be quite colourful then they painted it all white to try and look modern but it looks a bit like a low security prison, but that's a minor complaint.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Like going home to family

We have been guests over 10 times. Hotel never fails to amaze us with improvements and plans for the future. Can't wait to go back and see what Manager Carlos has improved on next. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
