Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Needs some work

It was ok. Food was poor, even in the restaurants. Most staff were nice and friendly. Be careful they tried billing me 3 times for the same service. I kept asking for a receipt but they always had an excuse.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Cuban resort

We spent 11 days at El Patriarca, and enjoyed it very much. It's a large resort with tourists from many different countries. There were lots of Russians and French Canadians, and not too many English speaking guests there while we visited. The resort is made up of many two story, twelve-plexes. The room was nicely decorated and was always kept clean. Towels and linens were clean and soft. Beach is very nice, with a rocky area nearby which makes it interesting to walk. The resort was full  [... read more]so it was not possible to get chairs at the beach after 9am, but there was usually room at the pool. The food was surprisingly good for Cuba. They had trouble keeping up with the numbers at the buffet, so we sometimes had to wait to get in. Entertainment was very good, and the music in the lobby in the evenings was exceptional. Overall a really nice resort for the price.

Blau Varadero: Great spot

We have been there about 15 times, great beach, many refurbished rooms, good food for Cuba and amazing staff. Hard to be disappointed here. Resort is about 15 years old but still in good shape. There is a bus or train if you want to go to Varadero for some sightseeing or shopping.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Great resort

Our stay here was great, we had a wonderful time. The pool area, beach, food, entertainment and most of all, the friendly and attentive staff, four star+. The bus service to Varadero for 5 CUC's that you can ride all day was a nice bonus to see the area.

Hotel Bella Costa: Nice

L’hotel est propre, la plage très petite, la bouffe, c’est Cuba, faut pas trop en demander. Le personnel amical et serviable. L’animation est faible. Mes besoins primaires étaient comblés, bon lit, eau chaude, mais bouffe souvent froide. Est-ce que j’y retournerais, oui mais à très faible prix. Bonne vacance à vous!!!

Melia Marina Varadero: The Level only

Resort, marina, and beach are all beautiful. Would only recommend staying here with “The Level” package because of the private dining. The resort buffet was horrible and there is no way we could eat there for a whole week.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great Resort and beautiful beach

We had a great family time at the resort. Pros: Wonderful resort, great shows, beach close to resort and private, good pools. Rooms were good Cons: Food(Bland - no spices) less - no vegetarian option

Club Kawama: club kawama awful resort

dirty pillows,stinky blankets dont know the last time they were washed stinky room with poor service,,staff took forever to fix our safe..we paid for it they were quick to get our money but super slow to fix the safe..we got contamination from food and or water.unhygienic place..even the animals look unwell.awful resort will never go back.

Paradisus Varadero: Resort was great

Overall food was good base on Cuba’s standards. Except the chicken they overlook Entertainment, Butler services and stuff where excellent The beach was very clean and amazing For 5 star resort the Building overall needs renovation specially little items in the bedrooms

Melia Las Americas: Best combination of resort and golf - 4th time back

We had a great time, from the food to the golf. Staff was always cheery, helpful in any way they could be. The beach and ocean is great, the grounds are well kept. Evening music in the lobby was a nice touch, from the piano & sax to the opera voices. The ease of being able to have breakfast and then walk over to the golf course and play was great. The staff at the golf course were easy to deal with, always very attentive. Second rounds for the day are easy to arrange for after lunch. I wo [... read more]uld always suggest a swim in the ocean/shower and change of clothes before second round. Pre-book your first round of the day using the app, that way everything is paid (cart fee only) and you just have to walk in and show the confirmative. Very simple and non time consuming. Food was always available, sometimes too much (will have to shed a couple of pounds). Fresh fish of all types, chicken, beef and various other specialties. Did not visit the al la carte this time. Understand that the internet sucks, so don't have high expectations, it was actually nice to unplug for the week. We were 3 golfers staying in one room, they had 3 separate beds for us, without asking. All I can say, what's not to like, enjoy it's a great place.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: A great experience

Fantastic staff, great cocktails, an amazing beach and a clean pool. Couldn’t have asked for much more from our stay here. The rooms were clean and the rooms were cool to give you a break from the hot sun. The beach at this hotel is extremely clean. There is no seaweed and the water is crystal clear.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Amazing

Before we took our trip we heard a lot of horror stories about Cuba. Best experience is self experience! Beautiful and well maintained resort with amazing and friendly staff. Always helpful. Great room service. Family friendly environment. Food wasn't the best but also not the worst. Always something for everyone. We will definitely come back one day. Paradisus Varadero: Our Hotel was changed to Royalton Hicacos

Thank you Monica for changing our hotel. Royalton was just amazing from food, to beach, to entertainment. The only downside was we were without hot water to shower on 2 days. When we walked on the beach to Paradisus, we were glad that we changed to Royalton! the amount of noise in Paradisus (due to construction) was not good. Thank you Monica so much for the recommendation and taking care of us

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Princess Del Mar, Veradero

Overall a good trip, I would rate it a 3+ though, not a 5*. The rooms were older, shower was inconsistent, food was often cold. Great beach, grounds, entertainment I would recommend an updated heating system at buffet that keeps the food hot

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Wonderful resort!

Stayed at the adults only Sanctuary Nov.21-28. Perfect weather, excellent service. The best bed I have ever slept on in Cuba. Still some damage to the doors from last years hurricane, but all in all, very nice rooms with a bar and full fridge with water, pop and beer. Friendly staff, making the best of shortages. Clean, sandy beach.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: One of the top resorts in Varadero if not Cuba

The resort lived up to my expectations and was in line with my research. This was my 5th time in Cuba and this was the best resort by far. I paid more than I used to but it was worth the overall value I got.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Relaxing, comfortable atmosphere, overall ok

This was my second time at Muthu Playa Varadero. Overall it's a nice resort. I saw improvement since my last visit in 2017 in the resort overall structure, such as freshly painted walls and new updates seating. The food was a disappointment since my last visit and the service in the restaurants was overall bad. Last time we visited was much better food quality and server service. We visited two A la cart restaurants and the food was terrible and ended up going to the buffet afterwards and hav [... read more]ing salads as an alternative. It's a nice place overall, easy comfortable atmosphere.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful resort, awful food!

When you first arrive to this resort it is breathtaking,the view,beach,pool everything is really nice! People and staff are super welcoming and you can find help on every corner to assist with any of your needs. But as days passed it got worse food wise. They honestly dont have some basics in the buffet. Food is not consistent,one day you may have chicken other may not. Any form of patato dish is rare. Even tho it says they have hamburgers,chicken fingers,pizza..they dont! They have an amazing f [... read more]ish,but one can only eat so much of it. Buffet is missing edible meat and veggies. A la carte restaurant tend to have the same things as buffet just with litlle upgrades. Such a shame of this beautiful place to be this bad food wise!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing resort

The resort : The hotel itself was amazing. I had an amazing ocean view room that was very clean and large enough for 2 persons. The resort is big and it has multiple restaurants, swimming pools and resting areas. They have entertainments during the day and every night. The night shows were amazing. Different kind of eggs, potatoes, cheese, pastries, juice and fruits. The lunch and the dinner were less impressing but still I could find something to eat and enjoy. They have different cooking style that might not be appealing for everyone and every culture but do not forget that you are in a different country and don’t expect the same food quality that you have at home. The resort was really clean. The room service was great. I 100% recommend this resort. The airline : I booked my vacation with sunwing. It is unfortunate that they are very irresponsible towards their customers. The initial flight that I bought was 3h30 min from Montreal to Varadero. They changed the flight duration and added a stop so it became a 7h flight. I was going to Varadero for 5 nights so you understand how annoying it could be when you miss a whole day and you have to spend 12h in total in flight for a 5days trip. This change was done when the full invoice was paid and the only answer that I could get was, “cancel your trip if you don’t want this flight because we have no other flight available” !! I will never book any vacation with sunwing anymore. There are many other companies that are offering the same vacation packages and treat their customers with respect. The tripcentral : Terrible experience. Definitely not an agency that I recommend to anyone. After the flight change, I had to contact them to get some help. Their agents were very aggressive and almost yelling at me that I was told about the terms and conditions of the airline. Which is not the truth. I asked for the transcriptions of my conversation with my travel agent and they said they will send it to me. Never received it. The second surprise, When I booked my trip, I was offered an insurance that was supposed to allow me to cancel my trip without penalty or change it. Also, I was told that the insurance allows me to get refund for only one person in case the prices drop. That was my main reason to buy the insurance and I was checking the prices to make sure that I will use this option. When the price has dropped almost 400$, I contacted them to get the refund and they told me this option does not exist. That means the agent lied to me sell the product. Initially, I wasn’t expecting this option, I didn’t know even that it exists so I cannot make this up! I was told that I have this option and that’s why I started to check the prices. Again, when I complained to my agent, she couldn’t care less. Her name is Nepheline Arce and I do not recommend this agent. If you have to book your trip with her, make sure that you ask for written proofs of all her offers.
