This resort takes the cake!!!!! Nothing to complain about, my 17th time in Cuba and I would return again and again to this place! What an experience!! Thank you tripcentral for the amazing deal and making it possible for me and my 9 family members to have the time of our lives!! Cant wait to go back!!!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Loved this resort

Second time here. We hoped all would be well after the disaster of last year. A few issues with our room but they were resolved quickly. Grounds,staff, and food were all excellent. Great view of the ocean from our room. Flight times with Westjet are the best. A special shout out to my favorite water aerobics instructor, Willy. Another great vacation in Cuba!!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Tryp Cayo Coco

I found the resort to be dated. They renovated summer of 2018, however this renovation was only the lobby; personally I think the money should have been used to update the rooms. The food was not bad but could have been better. Well seasoned but not much of a selection. Positives; bottle of water in room everyday, towel service (one towel per day), the beach is AMAZING, very safe Negatives; no entertainment, internet (wifi does not last the one hour), rooms require serious updating, no [... read more]t well lit, 24 snack bar doesn't have burgers/hotdogs - only has ham and cheese / tuna / chicken salad sandwiches. All in all, the resort is a good 4 day get away because there isn't much partying; it's fairly quiet so I enjoyed it because I went away for a few days to get away from the craziness of home and regroup. If you want a more active, young crowd... this is not the resort for you.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing resort

We were located in Bdlg 3 and were diamond club members. The swimming was great both at the pool and the beach and the entertainment was astounding. Food was okay. Activities around the pool were very entertaining.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Nice quiet place

Beach is almost always sheltered from prevailing winds so you can swim, or just hang out in the water. The water is shallow for a long ways out and as such is very warm water for snorkeling, however there are very limited fish to see directly in front of resort. It has the best Volleyball court I have being on in a long time, actually ever, with soft sand and shelter from Sun through the day. The rooms fall in 2 classes really, old and newer. Old smells, air conditioning maybe, patio doors actually have holes cut in frames to reduce smell but let's mozzi's and sand flies in??? Never mind the gap on the patio doors themselves. New is the way to go for most people. Recommended for a quiet resort many couples of all ages, not many singles here and I have spent 3 weeks over various times here. Quiet for me was why I went back, but not likely again. Other than the volleyball court not much over Cuban 3*

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Very nice!!!

The Pestana Cayo Coco is a really nice resort. The rooms could use a little updating but were quite comfortable. The resort is small enough to walk around and get everywhere quickly, especially to the beach. The beach is beautiful and we never had a problem getting a lounger. The food was good, great pizza grill near the beach, we never went hungry. The staff is amazing and the grounds are beautiful. The beach service is fantastic. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: MEMORIES: NICE

So much fun!! I recently travelled to Cuba Dec 2-9/2018. Upon our arrival we were greeted by friendly, accommodating staff. This was my 4th time travelling to Cuba and this is my second time to Cayo Coco . The Cuban people are amazing, kind, and warm-spirited souls. They go out of their way to make your feel welcome and at home. The nightly entertainment was fantastic. Every night at 9PM with a great variety. I especially loved the Micheal Jackson Show. The Cubans are so talented. The f [... read more]ood was not the best that I have had in Cuba but it was good. The main buffet did not have the variety that I have had on other vacations to Cuba. But it always had fresh fruit and bread available. I enjoyed the breakfasts the most having Omelettes cooked while you wait. The buffet was stocked full at all times and there was always plenty of staff around if you needed any assistance. The resort grounds were very well manicured and cared for and the beach was so beautiful. They are still recovering from Hurricane Irma so there is light construction intermittently in very few spots of the resort but it had no negative impact on us at all. It was actually interesting to see the construction techniques they use in Cuba. The beach has a pizza place which makes delicious pizzas. The rooms are well decorated in a modest fashion. The maid service was awesome and always made intricate towel animals on our beds, flowers, thank you notes, fresh towels and water bottles. This is a resort to return to.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Resort

Staff is super friendly and helpful At the pool grille bar, they have a golden beaked hawk that visits twice a day for some ham, which was very kewl Food is quite nice, but they need to have more selections. It was not very busy when I was there, so that's probably why. The new Manager Carlos is always around making sure that everything is good, and it was. Melia Costa Rey: great resort!

the hotel grounds were always being cleaned. It was a nice resort with a nice lay-out for food and bars. The pools were placed closely too. Staff treated us great and lots to chose from to eat and drink.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great Value- enjoyed the stay!

Great setting... room and grounds were terrific Food was above average for Cuba..really enjoyed our vacation Will be booking again in the spring Have already recommended this resort to friends Restaurants were very good- we booked the 5 nights and had great experiences..

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Wonderful Resort

The resort was nicely setup. The resort staff were excellent, very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Of the five restaurants we tried, two had very good food, one satisfactory and two were poor. We found the buffet had good selection and better food overall and we were quite satisfied with it. The hotel rooms were satisfactory but needs some upgrading. Water pressure was low at times and little hot water at peak times even though this was a low season period. Had trouble with the a/ [... read more]c unit, didn't work well and room was very cold. I had to shut off the a/c unit to regulate the room temperature. Staff assisted the best they could. The nightly entertainment was great. The beach was fantastic and the water was clean , clear and warm. had a great time at the beach.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Beautiful resort

Nice resort. The food is pretty much the same everyday. Not much fruits . Too much ham and its mixed in even the salad. Not good for people who are vegetarian or does not consume ham. The beach and pool are nice.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Short Vacation

Over all a good vacation, staff are the best asset to the resort. Pool, rooms, lobby and beaches in the area are very good. Not a lot to do outside of the resort, our 5 day stay was the perfect amount of time for our family.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Fantastic resort

All the staff are very friendly and do a good job to make your stay a wonderful time. Clean resort good rooms. food and drinks were also good.lets not forget the fantastic beach they have so you can enjoy the sun and all the fun there is to do there.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great staff, beautiful beach, hotel needs a lot of attention and update

The staff and beach 5 star. Hotel is a 2.5-3 at the best. Good for a few days of relaxation and enjoying beach and pools. Hotel is clean but with a lot of problems. Staff is very attentive and do their best, it is just too difficult to make up for so many short comings... Overall we enjoyed our stay but will not go back or recommend this hotel.

Melia Costa Rey: A Good Resort

What a fun place to stay! Although my trip started out with a room with no water, check-in staff quickly handled the issue. Overall, my stay was a good one. The food in the buffet, by the beach, at the 24 hour snack bar AND at the restaurants was absolutely delicious. My husband, who is the picky eater between us, also enjoyed the selection of food. All the service staff were friendly and courteous. I always felt safe on the grounds, which were kept tidy, but unfortunately the hurricane d [... read more]emolished much of the natural plant life. One poor palm tree outside my room had two dying leaves left on it when we arrived. On the day we left, the tree had no leaves remaining. That was something that, if remedied, would have made my experience more enjoyable. The public areas at the resort were generally nice and kept clean. The pools and surrounding decks were pristine and cleaned throughout the day and every evening. We had a partial ocean view, which was nice, and we received service daily--beds made, floors swept, and bottled water replenished. The beach there is stunning. I especially enjoyed the water sports. For three pesos, to be held as a deposit, you can take a paddle boat out for hours. The boat we chose was like new! The site-seeing was pretty amazing and the water and life surrounding it was stunning. Beach volleyball was fun, as was the beach party.  The glass bottom boat and snorkeling at the resort costs extra, but was beyond affordable and totally worth it. Exploring the reef was one of my favourite things we did! The entertainment team was shall we say entertaining? The shows at night kept me coming back for more every evening. I enjoyed the dance lessons and aqua fitness classes daily, while many members of my travelling group enjoyed the pool games after a few alcoholic beverages for a chance to win a bottle of Cuban rum. My husband and I had occasion to use the fitness facilities a couple of times. Unfortunately, all the treadmills and elliptical machines were out of order, but the rest of the equipment was in good condition. The Spa was peaceful and pretty amazing. A relaxing, full body, couples massage was a brilliant idea. My masseuse had magical hands and the essential oils were quite soothing. There are taxis available in the lobby and the drivers were more than willing to take us where we needed/wanted to go. Since there is no bank onsite EXCHANGING cash at reception only), we had to take a little trip off the resort by taxi which was interesting to say the least. At the end of the day, I would say I had a pretty amazing trip. If the plant life was more alive and the trickling water pressure at times in the room was less a concern, I would have said my trip to this resort was the perfect getaway.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Maintenance issues

Have been to this resort about a dozen times in the past for kiteboarding and don’t expect much but this trip the water in rooms was only available less than half the time ( no flushing, no showers, no clean sheets or towels ). The food also seems to have dropped in quality/ selection. If it was 3 stars before ... it 2 stars now.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Wonderful Beach and Great Resort - 4 Star

We have been to Cuba 20+ times - to 3 *, 4* and 5* so I feel I have a good idea of how one resort measures up against another. Here is my opinion of Memories Caribe. This small resort, 328 guest rooms, is ideally situated just 25 minutes from the airport. On the bus they were selling 2 can of beer for $5.00 - Canadian. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly, efficient staff. Check in was a breeze and our bags were delivered to our room within 10 minutes. I did exchange $100.00 Cdn a [... read more]t the airport and received 67 pesos. I also exchanged $100.00 Cdn at the hotel and received 67 pesos. It was never a problem getting 1 pesos for tipping at the front desk. Also, they sold internet cards - 1 hour for 1 peso. Wifi reception was great in the lobby an around the main bar and outside seating area. We were situated in Building 21 which was central and just a few minutes walk to the front lobby, lobby bar, buffet, a la cartes, pool an the beach. You can't go wrong - there are great pathways to travel on. **More lights along the pathways would make evening walks easier.** Our building has the recently renovated rooms with combination locks, plenty of shelves, lots of hangers, a dresser which has 2 shelves and houses the coffee maker, coffee mugs, and on the other side the bar fridge. Two night stands with drawers. Lamps - all 3 worked!! We had a king size bed, a sofa, small table and two firm chairs. The bathroom does not have a door but honestly, my husband and I didn't find it that big a deal. Patio door opened easily and had a lock. A small wooden table and 2 firm chairs out on the deck. The beach - OMG - amazing. Lots of beach chairs but the "save the chair" games is alive and well there - just like every other resort, so be prepared to be out there before 7:00 to get a prime location. There are always 2 men there to find you a chair if you need the assistance. There are two beach bars - one for Diamond Club; and one for the other guests - great service at the one for none-Diamond Club guests. Also next to this bar is a pizza hut. He is there between 12:00 - 3:30 ish. Individual pizzas and you pick out the toppings from pineapple, ham, gr pepper and cheese. They were delicious and free. But please, don't forget to tip!! On the Diamond Club side of the beach they have a food hut that served chicken burgers, hamburgers and pork buns - all the food there smelled delicious. Wishing I had booked Diamond Club. The Entertainment Staff - These folks are the ones that make my vacation! A huge shout out to Michel (Cheese Ball), Victor, Zoe, Dari and the rest of the staff (sorry I forget the names). Besides the morning stretch classes at the pool and at the beach; the aqua aerobics (pool and beach), there are games - bocco, darts, ball toss, volley ball, trivia but also.... Canada Day - celebrated every Thursday afternoon around the pool - so pack you flags, your red t-shirts, hats, and other bling. So much fun. Friday is Cuba Day at the beach in the morning and around the pool in the afternoon - don't miss this - totally awesome. The buffet and the a la cartes. Cuba - you either love the food or you don't. I love the food. Every morning we ate fresh made omelets, or French toast or pancakes. There were lots of veggies, meat slices, cheese and several types of fresh fruit. They have two toasters that work well - to toast their lovely fresh bread. Lunch - until the Ranchon by the beach is rebuilt (saw furniture being delivered last week - so soon...) there is an outside BBQ by the Main Building with Bar/Lobby where you can get a hamburger, chicken burger, ham/cheese bun or French fries or go to the Buffet. Supper - at the buffet - you could get fresh fish, pork,, or chicken freshly prepared for you or go with the prepared foods - we had turkey one night, pork roast another and a delicious huge fish prepared another evening. We had no complaints about the food but.....the house wines - both red and white - are terrible. I am not a wine snob but this wine is gross. I went into the little shop there and bought an Argentina Malbec for 8.40 pesos. It was great. We ended up buying 4 of those during our week. There is a wine store in the main lobby where they have knowledgeable staff who sell bottles from many countries either 10 or 15 pesos. We ate at the Asian restaurant and both loved the food but again, not the house wine. Staff in there were reserved - all business 'are you ready to order' ' here is your food' - are they suppose to be? In the buffet they are smiling and welcoming. We ate at the Mediterranean - the appetizers and the soups were great, both our main courses we did not enjoy or finish. I'd skip that one. We didn't try the Cuban one. There is also a Beans Café - cute little shop - friendly staff - you can get fancy coffees, ice-creams, etc here. Only open 12:00 - 5:00. Every day by the pool Rudy is there making Churros - similar to donuts - and some days he takes them down to the beach to deliver. Remember to tip. He is such a wonderful happy man. The Main Bar off the Lobby and the Sports Bar - called Route 66 - both are great spots. But when we arrived they were 'ice-boxes' - too cold to hang out. Many people said the same thing. I went to the Public Relations and said we love these spots but are too cold to hang out. The next day the temperature was increased - thank you and what a difference. The places had tons of people after that. In the Main Bar they have musicians most nights - great entertainers. One night there were lots of us dancing to the sax music!! The evening shows - we didn't make it to any shows - we are done by that time of day. To the right of the resort at the beach is the Nauti (?) Centre,where you can take out kayaks, paddle boats or go for free catamaran rides. We did the catamarans two days - a huge shout out to Noel and Angel. They made our outings so much fun. Brand new life jackets and catamarans thanks to Hurricane Irma. The staff were amazing here. Not once were we asked for items - our shoes, hats, other items. This does often happen at other resorts. We appreciated that fact. You can't go wrong if you book at this resort. Just remember it is in Cayo Coco - no big City near by. If you want peace and quite - this is the resort to go to.

Hotel Playa Coco: Not that good

All the washrooms were always out of toilet paper and not that clean and lacking of locks. I know I don't go to Cuba for the food but as seasoned traveler to Cuba the food at this hotel was terrible. The only good food was the Japanese alcarte and the chef Julio. The entertainment at night was ok..but should not have seen the same shows more than once in a weeks span. I personally will never return to this resort
