Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great trip and the Resort was so nice!
We just came back from our trip a few days ago and we were still repeating ourselves that this was our best trip to Cuba so far..... the resort was super great, pool was new, our room was so clean and comfortable....had issues with the a/c and it was fixed really quick....the people are so nice and happy! the staff is always there to help....overall it was a great week in the sun and we have already booked another trip in 2 months with our oldest daughter....that says it all....thank you to the [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Excellent Resort Setting but horrible Service
The Resort itself was beautiful. Really nice setting. It could be rated a 5 star. However, the service was very pittyful. Even though the rooms were a nice size and fairly clean, the springs in the bed were coming out and after complaining, they put a blanket under the sheet. The Food was almost acceptable but the Buffet had a terrible set-up. You had to wait for your food 15 minutes to get at. The A la card Restaurants were not very nice either. The pools were great and the beach was a bit shor [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: A good family resort.
I found this resort a good value for your money. Staff was friendly and tried very hard to make you feel welcomed. My recommendation would be to fix washrooms in the restaurants and on the beach. I would put more garbage containers on the beach. Otherwise a nice place to enjoy the beach.
Brisas Covarrubias: Relaxing Vacation!
This was our second time at this resort. Not much has changed. It is in need of some upgrades, but is well kept and very clean! The beach is absolutely gorgeous! The food is edible, you will not starve! There is not much to do, which for us was what we were looking for! Be forewarned, the bugs were absolutely horrible, we got eaten alive even with bug spray on.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Friendly place to vacation
Grounds were very clean, staff friendly most spoke good english, food was good it is an older resort but well kept it is huge, it was my 2nd visit but first for my sister in Cuba very satisfying. The beach is superb.
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Our favourite resort in Cuba
After 20 visits to Cuba, this remains our favourite resort. This was our fourth visit. In particular, we enjoy the gorgeous white powdery sand beach, the ideal location, having the choice of a five-storey hotel or a low rise units, very nice staff, and the scenic surroundings. Our favourite restaurant is there on the beach -- under the palm trees -- beside the azure water and the pure white sand. The food has always been plentiful and varied, and the various ethnic restaurants are interesting, b [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: memorys sucks
to much walking to many stairs the rooms wre dirty it felt like i was in a jungle and not the tropics way way to much walking i would not tell any body about this place and i will never go back to cuba again
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Excellent value
Stayed for 10 days of a family vacation with 2 kids and my parents over Christmas holidays. We stayed at the bungalow section which is well worth the upgrade. The good: Beautiful beach. Friendly staff. Food at the bungalow buffet restaurant was good, always something fresh on the grill, good pasta, great fresh fruit. A la carte restaurants were excellent as well, with excellent steaks and great fresh fish on the menu. The bad: Locals have access to the beach. Unfortunately, they leave such a mes [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Will not be going back
Very disappointing, My parents were there last year and could not say enough about this place. Sunwing Rep, Very Rude. She told me i know how to book a vacation, i guess you don't. I guess that would be not booking threw Sunwing. When you book a bungalow you should get a bungalow. Put us in a room with 2 cots and did not want to move us. If the hotel did anything for you they wanted you to pay more. To get one guy a band aid they wanted 10 pecos. Wow this place is not a place to go now. No towel [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: Great week!!
This was a large resort with an excellent variety of dining options. The food was better than expected! The lobby bar was a hit with our group, and a great place to meet and just hang out. We appreciated the liqueur cart!!
Don Lino Hotel: Great resort
We just returned from our third holiday at don lino. The bungalows are very nice. Horseback riding is available for free every day. The tourists who stay here are very friendly. It is not the best beach for swimming but there is a fantastic public beach close by. It takes about 15 walking minutes to walk there or you could bicycle there. The food is just ok but there is always something good to eat.nightly entertainment was low key but very very good. It is not a resort for people looking for a [... read more]
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Amazing time!!
We really enjoyed our time at this resort...we upgraded to the newer plus side for a reasonable fee. Totatlly worth it! The food, drinks, pools and room were all great. Cuba standards are always assumed to be lower than else where but we found this resort to be very mondern and the staff to be very easy to work with. We went as a family of 4 and found that our upgraded room more than met our needs. We stayed during the third week of December and the weather was fantastic!
Don Lino Hotel: Nice and peaceful
Very basic but still a nice place to visit. All amenities are very right there for you, the buffet and the pool and not to mention basically right on the beach. Moped rentals right on property is a blessing for the more adventerous but otherwise very quiet.
Brisas Guardalavaca: Relaxing vacation
Cubana airlines a definite improvement over Canadian airlines. Hola tours can be recommended , especially for the catamaran side trip included with thier package. Hotel checkin was quite slow, but otherwise service was prompt. Maid service was very good, we left gifts and tips most days. Fridge was nice in the room, but only stocked with one bottle of water on arrival, would be nice to have refilled and have beer and soft dricks as well. Stayed in the hotel section which had us close to everythi [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Great grounds but not dining
The resort is beautifully set in green scenery with nice swimming pools. Dinning was my worst exepierience ever. I went 8 times to Cuba and never complained abut food. This time was a huge disappointment! There was not ready cooked meals like in most resorts buffe. To get something to eat you need to wait 20 min. in line for cook to prepare food and sometimes when you get there there was no more. Christmas Eve gala diner was disaster. To get to the buffe we were waiting 25 min in line ( and in o [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Lovely place with terrible food
The resort is very nice and the rooms are spacious. The beach has lots of sun and shade and we never fought to get a chaise longue. The food however was not only not very good but they were constantly out of many products. The buffet opened at 6pm and by 7pm the trays were empty. Thank goodness I don't care for the pasta because the lineups were upwards of 20 minutes and there were not even trays of plain pasta with tomato sauce for kids to take. Even at the snack bar that only serves sandwiches [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: Excellent "Premium" Service
The Premium side of this resort is so beautiful. It's very quiet and you feel like you are at a private spa with very few guests. The staff cannot do enough for you. The rooms are huge and the jacuzzi tub is a perfect way to relax. My favourite was the outdoor shower. We did go over to the other side 3 or 4 times but much preferred the Premium side. We had lunch at the ocean twice and the service and food were excellent.
Sol Turquesa Beach: not a location for seniors
Too many steps to get to the pools and a lot of walking. Went to the beach and got bit by some bugs that produced blisters. Had to wear my sandals for one week after returning home, not misquitoes but perhaps sand fleas or noseeums? Very painful blistering bites I still have them after 10 days. The beach was not raked, full of seaweed. Not impressed at all. Staff were friendly. Buffet was okay as long as you get there early enough we went on evening around 8pm and they had very little to offer.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Everithing you paid for.
Room could be better, but, overall, one thing compensate for another. Beech, pools, hospitality - great! Looking forward for another stay at this resort. Probably spending more time on the available excursions.
Brisas Covarrubias: Great beach
Resort is a bit rough around the edges, lots of minor things broken.only big issue was no water sometimes.beautiful beach, the people are great.food was ok,I think the bread was the best I've ever had.its a long way from the airport(2 hours +).
