Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great service

This was our first "All Inclusive" trip and it didn't disappoint. As soon as we landed and got on the shuttle to the hotel, the staff were so friendly and offered good tips for our stay. The hotel room was ok- a little disappointed that we ended up on the ground floor. All of the bar staff, food service staff and housekeeping staff, even the grounds staff were very obliging to requests and went out of their way to be friendly. Would definitely return.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Beautiful Resort!!

What an amazing resort! I booked this resort after reading the reviews on Trip Central and couldn't have been more happy I did. The resort is very beautiful, clean and close to the beach. It's not a huge resort so not over crowded. The staff are overly friendly but I always loved that about Cuba. We had no water issues and rooms were always done great! There was always entertainment by the pool and theatre. Food was fantastic!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Poor attitude

The resort is in an amazing location. The beach and grounds are great. However, the staff and service are lacking. I had so many bad interactions with staff, It was the rule as opposed to the exception. For example: the phone in our room didn't work at all. I went to the front desk 3 days in a row to get it repaired, each time they put it on a clipboard and said someone would come by to fix it, but nobody ever came. I went back the last time and they sent me to talk to the customer service manag [... read more]er, who made a phone call and said someone would be right up, again, no one ever showed. I went back and was offered breakfast on the beach.. how was this going to fix the phone exactly?? (FYI, The phone never did get repaired) Every difficulty was met with shrugs, by front desk staff, wait staff, bar staff, customer service.. the only consistently good department we dealt with was housekeeping; they were great! My wife's father, who is over 80, was checked into a room that was not cleaned since the last checkout. He slept on top of a dirty bed the first night as the front desk shrugged when he went to get this remedied. We had to go to the Sunwing rep the next day to get the room made up, so they offered an extra night in the a la carte restaurants.. this is how the placate guests with problems.. it's and all inclusive resort; don't offer me more food! As it was, the restaurants were "booked" and we never got the extra night anyway. I was at the small pool and went in to order a drink at about 3:45, ( the pools close at 7 ) and the bartender said to me, Have a beer! I told him I wanted a long Island Iced tea, ( which he had made earlier.) His response? " You're crazy! I'm closed!.. That's service! I had been tipping very well as I worked in the service industry for 20 years, but this obviously made no difference. All in all; I will avoid Iberostar resorts in the future, as there is a serious problem with the staff & management attitude toward guests. Outside the resort, I found the people of Cuba to be friendly and the country is amazing, I'll be back but will avoid this company.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Resort!

We stayed at Iberostar Ensenachos for a week in May 2017. Beautiful hotel and facilities. Staff were AMAZING! Great food. Only suggestions would be to have a bit more variety throughout the week (e.g. themed meals) but the food was wonderful. The beaches are AMAZING - most beautiful I've ever seen. We loved being able to snorkel right off the beach. We took the double decker bus to the nearby artisan market - lots of variety and fun trip.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Wouldn't go back

The resort was in need of a lot of repairs. The staff always treated us like an inconvenience, yet were pushy and asking for tips all the time. When we checked in our room had a broken safe, TV, and air-conditioner. When telling the front desk agent she responded "all the rooms are like that" Finally we got one that worked properly. The beach was beautiful. Food was okay.

Hotel Mojito: not what we expected

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The resort itself is in such a disarray and the lagoon to the beach smelled of sewage which blew into the pool area. The restaurants were also on this lagoon. At one restaurant nothing could be eaten for all 4 of us. Not due to the smell but the food. Choice of food was very limited in the buffet. Pathways to rooms were very dangerous at evening especially. The ground floors very very musty smelling and had a tendency to flood during rain. The upper [... read more] floors had no private balconies. The beach almost disappeared when tide was high. Entertainment team seemed to be only hanging out with guests instead of doing group stuff. Grounds staff were more interested in selling you something instead of their job.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great family resort!

Simply put... Large rooms, including walk in closet, defined entry way (handy for beach toys, sand shoes etc), glass shower with consistent hot water and good pressure Beautifully kept grounds, but paths are dark so bring a flashlight for the evenings Lots of birds, geckos, crabs and fish to feed in the ocean Lots of walking - main buffet is near lobby, which BTW only has one bar for a significant area Pool grill is very slow and often runs out of food Lots of fish/ seafood overall Buffet [... read more] has lots of food, but is the same everyday. No theme nights. Lines for pasta, fresh meat and omelets are very long Air conditioning in restaurants is hit or miss The beaches are unreal. Take the time to go to ensenachos beach, it is stunning - there is a bar there also but the grill only has burgers and they are not very good Staff are terrific There are no vendors at this resort so if you want a souvenir take the double decker bus to La Estrella in Santa Maria ($2 pp) or a private taxi. Pools are great. Kids loved the splash pad. Staff serve drinks around the pool. Beach grill is ok.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Terrible Resort

Worst resort I have ever been to. Food was terrible, service was terrible. Hotel staff not friendly at all. Room maids terrible too. Only 1 out of 4 elevators working to service 4 buildings. Unlit pathways at night very unsafe for walking. Would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great beach, very nice resort

I stayed at the Iberostar Laguna Azul the week of April 22 to 29 with my 3 daughters, all in their early 20's. Overall, the resort was very nice. The beach was beautiful and the pools were very nice. The flights, transfers to and from the airport and check in/out went very smoothly and were stress-free. The food was ok (similar to others resorts we have seen in Cuba). Overall, this was a very nice resort and I would recommend it for someone looking to visit Cuba.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Fabulous Resort

I booked my vacation with trip central as I have before with great experiences.We went to the Iberostar paraiso beach on recommendations from a friend and was not disappointed.The rooms are just right in size and very clean.The workers in the buffet are very friendly and have a good selection changing things up every night .The pool area is well kept and the staff come around to make sure they include you in activities.They also have a shopping plaza on site where you can purchase jewelry clothe [... read more]s etc along with a free ice cream parlour coffee shop and burgers a disco for adults.All in all this place is like heaven always cleaning and maintaining things .I will definatly recommend this resort to anyone going to the mayan Riviera thanks

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Had an Amazing Time!

This hotel and resort were amazing! It was clean, the grounds were stunning, the staff were incredible, the food and selection were delicious and the room was gorgeous! As this was my first ever vacation, the only negative thing I have to say is that I wish I had done my research to find a resort that had pools opened past 6:00. That was a little disappointing, but not the resort's fault at all!

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: nice quiet resort

If you are looking for a nice quiet vacation with great service and for the most part awesome food, this may be the place for you. GOOD: The grounds are clean and well kept, the staff are very attentive and friendly, The food is never bad ( but sometimes not very exciting either) The pool is very nice with different levels to look like a waterfall. NOT AS GOOD: it is a small resort with very little to do except sit by the pool or on the beach. Not much to do in the area as well, you cannot go outside the resort for a walk or to look at the area as it is right on the main Highway and the area really dosent have anything to walk to. I recommend you upgrade to an ocean front room, the veiw is really nice

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Favourite resort ever

Food, drinks, entertainment crew, beach, pool, room service, presentation all 10/10 from the heart. Leaving was very sad, this was my second time and there will be more returns undoubtably! Never felt so comfortable and well taken care of anywhere else. Iberostar is a dream. Miss it already!

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Awesome resort

The rooms were great, service was great , the only down fault was the amount of activities that there were during the day! It would of been better to have more excitement but other than that , no problems at all with anything and it is very nice and well organized

Just stayed at thos resort and I would recommend it to everyone. Food, service and cleanliness was excellent. We will go back very soon... Our second time booking with trip central and would recommend then too everyone also... Had very good service , Thank You for making this vacation a special one , once again...

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: excellent

had a fabulous time. Staff was unbelievable. Would go back in a heart beat. When we had a problem it was looked after immediately. Because our plane was delayed 10 hours(Cubana Air} they allowed us to keep our room at no extra charge. The entertainment staff spoke excellent English. We would definately reccomend the Iberostar Daiquieri to anyone.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Iberostar Ensenachos

The beaches at this resort were amazing.There are two to select from and require a bit of a walk to get to but are very accessible. The resort itself was very nice and well maintained. There were lots of families with infants and small children during our stay. Which wasn't an issue for us but may be for some folks. The food was okay to poor at times, which is typical Cuban fare. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Food needs improvement

The only real issue we had with this resort was the food quality for what is considered a five star resort. We understand this is Cuba, but we stayed at another five star resort in Cuba that had better food. The food was inconsistent. Only one evening in the buffet the food was hot in the trays. A cooked turkey was dry one night and better another. The fresh cooked stations were better but had long line-ups. A la cartes were okay, but the lobster pasta at the Italian was tough pieces of lobster  [... read more]in a soupy tomato sauce and the service at that restaurant was very slow. Breakfast was okay but the bacon needs to be cooked properly. Three of six had stomach issues to an extent we never had before on many previous trips south. Everything else was great - rooms, grounds, two fabulous beaches, and we can't say enough about all the wonderful staff we met who went above and beyond every day.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: GREAT RESORT

The resort was beautiful....large with beautiful pools and even more beautiful beaches (two beaches). However, the pools were close but the beaches were a bit to far away for my liking. We stayed in one of the Spa rooms which meant it was fairly close to everything. Some of the other rooms would have been too far away for us (different if you are young though). Rooms were nice and clean and the staff everywhere on the resort were wonderful. Comfortable, air conditioned buses. Even though it is an all inclusive resort, be prepared to tip on a regular basis as you go along. A great many tourists were doing this and some of the staff began to expect it. FOOD.....not the best but certainly a large variety. The great taste of the Cuban beer made up for the taste of food. Great entertainment every evening. We would certainly recommend this resort and met people who go back year after year. One couple we met just celebrated their 20th visit to this resort. We would certainly go back again. A great bang for your buck.
