Riu Reggae: Lovely resort

Rui Reggae is clean, reasonably-sized and well laid out. You didn't have to walk miles to eat or return to your room. Food was good. Lots of variety. The beach is the best of the three Ruis in the row as vegetation was further out in the deeper water. I'd go back as long as i don't have to use Sunwing to get there.

Riu Merengue: Very disappointed

I need to first premise my review. I have lived in the D.R. for extended periods. I have been on vacation there maybe 30 times at 10 or more different resorts.My wife is Dominican. About the only good thing about this was the amazing people that worked there in reception, the bars and the restaurants. In saying that, this was the most disappointing resort experience I have ever had. The fridge was never stocked like they said it would be. The last day we were there it was not cleaned at all. Food. from 1 to 10, a 2. It was the same thing every day with maybe 2 or three items that were changed. 3 days we had to wait over an hour to have dinner because there was no seating left. The food was quite tasteless and there were little flies always invading the fruit bar. Here is what made this resort miserable. They overbooked their day passes with 100's of Dominicans. This is where some people are going to think I am horrible. I love Dominican people but when get them in a resort they want to take over the place. They crowd in front of you at the restaurants and bars. They make the pool unusable, drinking in the pool and leaving the glasses (paper or plastic) in the pool. They were loud and obnoxious. Several times I would leave our loungers for a couple of minutes and found people trying take them over when I got back! One day I was sitting in a place where I could see the bathrooms. I did not see 1 person in a bathing suit go there! That is not conducive to me to want to go into the pool. I wish I had something better to say but quite frankly, I have more positive in my review than how I actually feel. I in no way have any animosity towards trip central. Riu Guanacaste: This resort is not a 5 star more like a 3.5

I was very excited to stay at the Riu Guanacaste. I had stayed at the Riu in Aruba and loved it so was looking forward to my stay at Guanacaste. The food and drinks were a disappointment. The breakfasts were the best meal of the day. Dinner's were best at restaurants and not the buffet. I also found it very hard to find drinks that I really liked. Riu Palace Aruba: Riu Palace Aruba...Amazing!

Very impressed with everything - from the room to the cleanliness. Every meal was a 10! The beach was perfect (although it would have been nice to have a bar at the beach). the pool area was always lively and the drink service was consistent. The staff was always pleasant and attentive. The shows were impressive. Great coffee! Well maintained grounds and extremely clean. Lovely place to unwind, relax and 7 days is just not enough. Riu Guanacaste: Really Good Value!

Loved the amount and variety of food! The resort is great, with a beautiful pool! I specially loved the entertainment - the quality of the performances and entertainers was top-notch. I would recommend 100%! Note the basic rooms did not include shampoo or lotion which was unexpected...

Riu Republica: RIU Replublica

Nice clean and modern resort. The grounds are well maintained the food is excellent and the overall feel is relaxing. Friendly staff and a nice boutique style shop is on the property. The free WIFI is a bonus and there is an excellent selection of modern alcoholic beverages

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Good resort

Good hotel for the money. Good beach area great staff. The pool is terrible way to small for the amount of people. Water is never crystal clear in any of the riu ressot pools I have stayed at. Construction was our view from the room. This should have been mentioned.

Riu Guanacaste: Perfect Vacation

We had an awesome time recently visiting Costa Rica. Riu Guanacasta was an excellent resort with spacious rooms. Can't say enough about the service as the hotel staff were great. Definitely would visit again and strongly recommend. I would like to thank Jessica again at trip central. This family vacation was terrific.

Riu Republica: Beautiful Resort

This is my second time at this resort. It is so nice and clean. The staff are wonderful and entertainment staff are amazing. Definitely will go back. Overall amazing vacation and friendly people 😉 from all parts of the world

Riu Palace Macao: Amazing Resort

Was a little sceptical about going back to the Dominican republic but really loved this resort the food was amazing and the staff were freindly and helpful. We did have one issue with our room it extremely noisy our room backed on to the Rui bamboo wich is under construction lots noise early morning and late at night ,the second day we complained and with in our third day the up graded us free to a better room excellent customer service made our vacation great!!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Stay!

The hotel was lovely and the grounds well kept. No bugs anywhere I was prepared with bug spray but not required. The Animacion team was great thank you Candy Crush as my daughter loved kids club! Ocean was shallow and snorkelling off of the shore was nice! Great trip food was good overall. I would recommend and stay again. Using the Riu Merenge was lovely too to change it up. Good experience!

Riu Guanacaste: Riu Guanacaste

The hotel was nice and had very good restaurants. The disappointment is that there is only one swim up bar for the entire resort. This made waiting for drinks unsatisfying. The hotel was clean. The people working at the bar are very obvious when they are talking about people in a bad manner thinking that others don't understand Spanish. The beach down by the monkey bar has no rocks and is actually enjoyable to swim unlike the one in front of the Riu.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Not bad but likely won't be returning

Travellers info: Me, 40's female traveling with parents who are in late 70's. Parents have been here many times in past but due to some health problems could not go last 2 years. We flew out of Toronto. Flight (Sunwing): We flew with Elite Plus and sat in first row. I know the review is for the resort but I thought this was important to note. I don't know if you are a bigger person if it would be big enough and we could not lift the center 'arms' either. Food is purchase only. They did provide a drink (soft drink, water...). Resort: The set up of the Riu Palace Punta Cana is very nice! the grounds are lovely as well. Most staff are very friendly but you can tell they all want your tips. It adds up, so just something to be aware of. There are a few souvenir shops behind the towel pickup location. Wifi reception was a bonus. Could connect almost anywhere most of the time. The main negative was the NOISE. I could not believe how noisy people are, kids and adults yelling through the halls, moving furniture etc in the unit above us.. just at the wrong times for us.. but just no respect for others. Parents cannot sleep well and so this was very annoying especially at 2 in the morning! One night two ladies were chatting up a storm on the balcony next to us for hours and we were inside, all doors closed and we could hear everything. The music by the pool is EXTREMELY loud in the afternoon when the entertainment staff go full force with activities by the pool. Pool: as noted, very loud and very crowded. I never went in because people seem to be in there all the time with their drinks and never leave. No thanks! There is no quiet pool location at this resort like some others. Lots of kids at this resort as well so be prepared. Beach: Natural shade created by the beautiful Palm Trees, no huts. Didn't have a problem finding chairs on the beach. The water itself was not for me. But that's just me. LOL. It was wavy, murky and COLD. I much preferred the crystal clear calm waters of Varadero or St. Maarten. Food: Lots of variety but none of us found the food to have any flavour. But we may not have chosen the right things? At lunch we ate at the restaurant by the beach which is beautiful however the food is outside around the flies etc... I did not like that but it seems to be the way these resorts are. I wish they would come up with covered clear glass cabinets for the food like they have the ice cream in. Ice cream by the way is delicious in the Caribbean! the orange/pineapple is my fav! had it everyday. Can't comment on the other restaurants as we only ate in the buffetts. Overall - I doubt I would go back here.

Riu Playa Blanca: Nice resort great for family

It was great only the entertainment for adults at night needs some changes more diversity.the beach needs cleaning dirty leaves the beach close by was very clean. One night lots of people got sick Sunday night. The view was great the people were great the room was clean

Riu Reggae: Fun and modern!

The staff make this resort, Sharon at the pool bar is the best! Loved her! You can really tell they love the guests and do what they can to make sure everyone is having a great time. I wish there was more culture in the resort itself though just more Jamaica in the decor. The rooms were spacious and clean. I would recommend a courtyard or ocean view though. The crowd was mid 20's to 50's and wasn't a problem, only went to the Montego Bay resort once but heard decent things about the n [... read more]ight club there. The food was great and there were loads of options for everyone, the snack bar could have used some more healthy options though as all that was there were nachos, hot dogs and cheese sandwiches.

Riu Republica: Second time around even better.

My wife and I have just returned from Riu Republica Punta Cana for a second time and the resort was beautiful. Although we were very impressed last June, the resort has made some significant improvements to the landscaping as well as service around the pool areas from providing drink service to your pool side chair to munchies and a variety of specialty snacks and drinks blitzes in the afternoon including a mobile ice cream cart which was a nice touch. The variety and quality of food has something for everyone's pallet including the hard to please. Thank you Riu for a great experience and to Miranda our booking agent for going the extra mile. Riu Republica: Beautiful resort!

I was very impressed with the resort. It's absolutely stunning and my room was very clean. The 3 pools were gorgeous, it had a white sandy beach and the ocean was an aquamarine colour. I was also impressed how much shade the resort offered around the pools and at the beach. The food was phenomenal and there were lots of choices. I found most of the staff to be quite friendly and they were definitely on the ball- making sure to clear your plate, fill up your water glass,etc. I want to give a shou [... read more]t out to Roberto who works in the dining hall. Roberto is a fabulous server, so please watch for him (they wear name tags). He's very nice! There were only two things I didn't like. The first thing is; we were only given two sheets to sleep with. There was no comforter so, I ended up sleeping with the terry cloth robe they provide you with in your closest, every night. Also, the pillows were small and uncomfortable. So, if you plan on going, bring your own pillow and wear warm pajamas. Other than that, I had an amazing time and would definitely go back!

Riu Republica: Our Anniversary Week at the Riu Republica June 5 to June 12, 2017.

Good points...food in the main buffet was superior. We stayed away from the ala cart restaurants. when we discovered most were buffet style including the Japanese. The only one that we tried with a menu was the steak house and the steaks were GREY. They were edible but not steak house style at all. Very clean, care takers always washing the tiles outside. Very big hotel, and getting bigger with new construction at the front of the hotel. Wait staff cater more to Americans and Spanish speaking guests . (not unusual I guess :) ) Some guests looked like teens and acted like them too. (not sure if the age is checked for ADULT hotel)

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Loved my time here

We had an awesome time as I have been to Bahamas many times before. The resort needs a facelift but the staff make up for it.. it definitely isn't like staying at an all inclusive resort like you would in Dominican but Bahamas it's self has lots to offer being that it is so safe you can practically venture off the resort and go anywhere. Once there is more of a face life and more food options I think they will score big with the property being on PI right next to Atlantis with out being so b [... read more]usy.

Riu Montego Bay: Good and bad

I was impressed with a very friendly staff. The food was good. The jurk chicken hut was my favorite. The pool was nice and always kept clean. My problem was the beds were the most uncomfortable beds I've ever stayed on . The beach has 90% seaweed,very disappointed with the beach. And I noticed on the day I was leaving there was a cockroach in the bathroom. I've been to Jamaica 3 times at different resorts.
