Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great vacation…..but
We had a wonderful time until the very end when we got a stomach bug and which kind of ruined the last couple days. I cannot specifically blame the hotel, but it is likely we either picked it up from the food/workers/or other guests.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great resort - walkers beware it's a big one
Ocean El Faro has everything you need. We upgraded to Priviledge which unlocked a few more dining options, better alcohol, better wifi etc I would say it was worth it but the cost wasn't that different than the general room so we decided to do it.
Food wasn't amazing overall but my family enjoyed it! The beach was okay very rocky and not sandy white but it was still not 3 ft of snow. Pools were great, entertainment was great. Servers constantly walking around if you need anything (the better[... read more] you tip the faster they come by). Room overall was nice, some details they could improve on but it was quite modern!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great experience
Staff at this resort try harder than any of the 15 others we have gone to. The grounds and pool are beautiful. Food was excellent.
Covid tests are on site , no positive test so far in 2022.
We couldn’t be happier.
Special thanks to Dancer WILLIS.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: stay in preferred or don't stay
Disappointed in room - hotel needs an upgrade
Beach was dirty and water was brown and very rough
Staff were great though and food was good
No night life for the adult crowd. More of a family resort
Make sure you check where your excursions are before booking, we were on a open air bus for 2 hours one way to get to the buggy trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: This is a beautiful resort!
We found the grounds, pools and beach clean and safe.
The food was great and the people very friendly.
Because of covid the staff all wore masks.
The restaurants are very clean and everyone had to ware their mask unless eating or drinking.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Great place
Rooms, food, golf and staff are fantastic and everything on the resort is wonderful except the casino where they are aggressive and speed up the spins and deals to a point where it’s not an enjoyable experience.
Very disappointed in this, as we would of liked to of spent an hour each evening before dinner.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: amazing resort except the food
the Palmira buffet at the Luxury Esmeralda served only cold food. The breakfast was OK but the lunch and dinner was repeatative and always cold. One day they ran out of eggs. Ha, eggs?
One day the beach bar had no beer, only foreign beer for sale, at a 5 star?
The beach buffet had a good lunch.
The alla carte dinners were ok, but always cold. I think all food is prepared offsite and delivered to the hotel for the sitting, that would explain the cold food.
My wife took some stewed pumpkin[... read more] at the lunch buffet at the beach. There was a worm in it. I would submit a picture if this survey had that option.
The tables at the beach buffet were suposedly cleaned and a blue card placed on the table indicating so. The blue card was placed on the table but the tables were not always cleaned.
We like the line dancing they have everey night at the Punta Cana hotel. The entertainment staff do a great job to lead novice dancers in the dance. The beach dance is terrific as well. I would recomment the hotel just for the enternainment staff, beach, buildings.
The food really needs a makeover and is not 5 star.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort
The grounds are well kept. Rooms were clean. All restaurants that we went had amazing and always hot food.
The staff are very friendly and always take good care of the tourists.
As for the Covid , masks were always on for all staff. A lot of tourists will where there masks in and out of restaurants. Hand sanitizer is all through the resort.
Felt very safe.
Amazing resort and I will return for my fourth time very soon.

Riu Republica: Would go again but...
We would definitely go back, however:
Resort/Rooms:
In all honesty it should be a 4 or 4.5 resort due to the cleaning staff not picking up cans or plates left around the resort by inconsiderate travelers as well as the quality of materials throughout the rooms and resort. Don't get me wrong, the rooms were nice, not the nicest we've seen, but nice. But paint of every light switch and room number plates just jumped out as a lack of quality on the maintenance side of things which just made [... read more]it seem cheaper then advertised.
We had a partial Ocean view room which was a stretch because we only see the Ocean a far ways and a bit over the resort walkway palm trees. Don't pay the extra money for it. I swear it's not worth it.
Our mini fridge wasn't refilled systematically without asking and this even after leaving 5$ tips every single day for cleaning staff.
Pillows in our room really sucked and there were no other option available. They were very small and stuffing very cheap feeling.
The Cola in your fridge is Cana Cola(local) which taste like RC cola. The 7up equivalent however is really good.
The restaurants all have Pepsi products. If you want real Coca Cola, you'll need to purchase from shop.
All shops, restaurants and bars had excellent service and staff was friendly and enjoyable. We were friendly to all and tipped well and received excellent and quick service and were recognized constantly by our "usual" servers/bartender.
Food:
The À la carte food was excellent at the Asian, Steakhouse and Indian restaurant. The Italian place was disappointing and we didn't hear good things about the spanish place so we did not go. The whole time we were there the fancy restaurant Killarium wasn't opened.
The buffet food, regardless of time of day, was great.
The only 24/7 spot on the resort is the Sports Bar. They have Nachos, Hot Dogs and Burgers always available.
Pools/Beach:
Party pool was, well, as advertised and we had a blast, it seemed to be the place to be. It was easy to find chairs. The beach is okay, it's clean and maintained. The merchants on the beach made for a few unpleasant experiences where we were literally fast asleep enjoying the sun and getting woken up for pedicures and manicures or pictures with monkeys.
The quiet pool is as advertised, situated between both swim up bar pools, it's surprising how quiet it was.
Don't bring your own towel, the ones provided are great and nobody while we were there, was being selfish with chair reservation. We were able to find great chairs everyday.
Shopping/Shops/Merchants:
There's a beautiful strip market at the end of the entrance road of the resort(off-resort) called Punta Blanca, these merchants all have the same if not better merchandise than the resort shop and beach vendors for a third of the price. This is where we bought our souvenirs after having overpaid on the beach. You live and learn.
The resort shop has whatever one may need in case you forgotten something or needed something. The sunscreen was between $15 USD and $36 USD depending on brands. They had hats, shirts, dresses, Cola, liquor, cigarettes, souvenirs, beach bags, ect...
Tours and packages:
DO NOT PREBOOK YOUR PACKAGES.
I repeat, do not prebook.
We had to get refunded because the options made available by your representative at the resort are so much more detailed and the specifics of the packages are not well explained on the website vs in person. For example, we had pre-booked a Catamaran trip, however after explanation we were told that our Catamaran trip was a party boat excursion with beach visits. At the resort we opted for a different Catamaran trip called the Seaquarium where you go on a half day, snorkeling and underwater excursion where they put domes on your head and you can breathe normally while enjoying schools of fish. This to us was more appealing than the half day party cruise.
The horseback ranch prices were reasonable to go ride, however when we arrived back at the ranch, the price they wanted for photos was $160 USD which was nearly double price of the excursion, luckily for us we had our cell and we had taken some great photos. If you do go, put your cell in one of those necklace style dry cases so you don't lose it while riding.
The coolest thing we did was to go Swim in a water filled cave during the Adventure Boogies (dune buggies) package. It was amazing. Felt surreal.
COVID-19 measures:
It cost us $80 USD each to have our COVID-19 PCR test on site. ($105 CAD)
The staff wore masks, tables were cleaned quickly and all restaurants required mask when entering and at all times if not seated.
The restrictions were not strict and we were happy with it as this wasn't a concern for us. We were really happy to live a normal life, seeing other peoples faces and enjoying the company.
This was one of my best vacation as far as resorts go. The grounds are immaculate! All the workers where friendly, happy and always there when we needed them. The rooms where beautiful and large, the maids always made our room fresh and clean and made sure we had full fridges and coffee supplies, never had to ask for anything. The beach was beautiful and always clean. Just an all round great vacation for my husband and I.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Beautiful, Clean & Wonderful Resort
Grounds were super clean. Staff was engaging and friendly. Food was excellent - even the buffet (which many other resorts can't claim). Rooms were clean and spacious. Entertainment was good - very good.
Wifi was always either down or constantly dropping out, no business centre, so we had to sit in the lobby to fill out all our paperwork on our phones with sketchy wifi. Food was ok, our lobby cafeteria served the same thing everyday, lots of seafood, breads and desserts. Staff were friendly, rooms where clean and spacious. Towels where hard to come by some days. Beach was beautiful. Communication was terrible, two people in our group missed the bus to the airport because nobody at the front des[... read more]k knew when it was coming

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Outstanding
I don’t even know where to start! This resort was amazing. The food was great, the staff were so friendly and the pool! THE POOL IS VERY BIG, never had a problem finding a spot or keeping distance from each other. Masks were recommended and used by all staff and in the dining areas. Overall the resort was VERY clean and well kept.

Be Live Collection Punta Cana Adults Only: Adult side was well worth it
We stayed on the adult side. Great resort, very clean, friendly staff, loved the food (lots of variety for myself who is a picky eater haha). Our concierge was amazing, he gave us his WhatsApp and we used that to communicate throughout the week, he even checked in on us on his day off!! Our master swimup room was nice, and close to the buffet, pool, and bars. Only complaint about the room was it smelled like mildew, even though it was clean (maybe because it was a swimup room? Idk). The regular [... read more]side of the resort was ok. We usually went to the main pool
For the afternoon entertainment (which was always a blast!). Decent service and drinks and good snacks by the pool. We would go again but only to the adult side. Beach wasn’t great but wasn’t an issue for us personally

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Awesome time at The Splash DC
We very much enjoyed our stay here. We are seasoned travelers but not unrealistic in our expectations! I believe the Splash is a 4* but the PC side is closer to a 5*
That being said, we (family of 4 in the family suite upgraded to DC) like the splash side but appreciate the PC side.
We were in building 25 facing the pool. It was a bit quieter which we liked. Our kids are 9 and 13. There was so much to do even on the splash side! We did the VR room and the Escape room. We explored the wate[... read more]r park one day, then the beach the next then the pool for a day etc. We tried every part!
We ate breakfast at the splash buffet everyday. We preferred the DC lounge coffee in the am! We ate lunches on the PC side and could tell the level of food difference in the buffet. However the food was good at either place. Lots of choices.
We actually loved the walk from the Splash to the PC side. The nature and atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing! The grounds were well kept and the nature was great.
Lots of stores to grab last minute necessities. The beach was fabulous! The DC lounge areas (beach side) were also great. DC has their own area for drinks, but we didn’t use it very much.
We LOVED the steak house!! The Japanese was a fun experience. The Mexican was okay.
Towel service was also great. I hate HATE being hounded about towels, since we are not the type to travel to a hotel to steal a used towel. They did not hound us at all ever!! Be respectful and put your towel in the bins! Every time.
Tons and tons of places to hang out at night, depending on your wants. Quiet, or noisy.
Hope this helps! Some service was bad, others were great. We are good tippers to good service and don’t let poor service ruin our fun.
We upgraded the family suite to DC upon arrival. I can tell you I was VERY annoyed with my “butler†and his inability to be helpful. They communicate via WhatsApp - but when I asked for him to book an a la cart with another room, he said he couldn’t. BUT I was able to do it myself after he told me he couldn’t. The other room wasn’t Diamond Club, BUT that didn’t stop me. So, it shouldn’t have stopped him. So you can see, I didn’t let that ruin my vacation. He lost tips because of it.
None the less, the resort, the stay, the overall experience was awesome. We will be returning and likely staying on the splash side again with the DC upgrade.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Lovely resort
We had a great week at the Royalton Punta Cana. We did the diamond club but didn’t think the upgrade was worth it. The Score sports bar needs to work on the quality of its food offerings but the other restaurants were very good. The beach and grounds are beautiful. Service everywhere was fabulous and everyone was very friendly.

Ocean Blue and Sand: A Good Resort
It’s a good resort but definitely wouldn’t of enjoyed it if I didn’t have a privilege room. The perks made it better but I wouldn’t return. It’s an older building with a small beach area. If your not privileged you have to wait in line for a restaurant. Service is good when you tip a lot

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great resort! Fun vacation
Had a great time. Grounds are kept beautifully. Flamingos are a great touch! Food was excellent. Rooms were fine. Nothing spectacular but we didn’t spend much time there. I enjoyed walks on the beach but water was rough and the beach at dreams isn’t laid out well. On a bit of a slope and weeds on beach weren’t raked up. As you walk down the beach towards other resorts it is much better. Drinks are the same as most all inclusives. Great entertainment in the evenings and the staff is fabul[... read more]ous. We had a large group and the staff was very helpful. Would definitely recommend this resort as long as the beach is not at the top of your list. Although it is beautiful

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Lots of fun
1st time at the grand aquamarine and it was everything we hoped it would be. Never a dull moment. Staff and COVID protocols were exceptional. I only wished they enforced it more with the guests. I wonder if they can make a position out of mask enforcement. The food was great for the most part. Only issue was a lot of sugar and salt in everything. It was hard to find a non sugary drink or healthier food options. Also, if anyone from the resort sees this PLEASE look into Il Capriccio and Taquila r[... read more]estaurants. The food and service was beyond inexcusable. It needs a quality control intervention. 1.5 hour wait for our first meals and execution of the food was terrible… and no service with a smile…no service at all. It was a shame, as the rest of the restaurants we went to were incredible. I would say the staff were worked to the bone and spread thin though.
Rooms were lovely! Everything felt safe and clean. The activities were fun and lively.
For the price point this resort checked all of the boxes.
Will return for sure.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Paradise!
Wonderful experience at Bahia Principe Aquamarine! Front desk personnel were exceptionally resourceful, kind and thoughtful. Agents running restaurant bookings were patient, diligent and accommodating. Activities offered were engaging and fun. Stellar all round!
