Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Wonderful Time

Had a great time although the weather wasn't very cooperative. Had plenty of rain. Food was very good in the buffet but not exceptional in the restaurants. Staff were all wonderful! Only complaint was towels weren't delivered to our rooms until late afternoon daily making showering before dinner difficult

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Great resort for all, single or couples

The hotel overall was a great experience. The staff were friendly, and the food was good. The hotel itself is smaller, but overall is a good time. Nothing bad to say other than the weather, but that's out of anyone's control.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Gran Ventana

This is one of my favorite resorts and I have travelled the world as a stand up comedian. The food is excellent, the rooms are clean and the linens are crisp. The staff go out of their way to provide the best. I recommend this resort to anyone. Wonderful holiday experience. Great golf course and a great ocean beach. Shallow (knee deep for a hundred yards. Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Phenominal place!!

This resort was amazing!! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was so good that we dosnt even use the la cartes. I went with 6 other people and qe will all go back to this resort. It defianely was 4.3\5. Nothong negative to say

The hotel was very nice, rooms are simple, pools are amazing, food was fantastic! Vendors on the resort, I could do without but are ok. The overall experience for my family and myself was absolutely terrific! Already planning for next year, can't wait!!!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing Resort

First impression stuck on my heart. It is a beautiful resort and amazing people as well. My wife and I had the best time ever. We did not want to leave. We are going back next year. The resort is very clean with very friendly staff and everything at your finger tip. The food was great the pool was clean. we just had a wonderful time. No bad thing to say at all. GREAT PLACE FOR A VACATION.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Piece of Paradise

We have become fans of the Sunscape chain and this was our first visit to this location. The suite we had was simply amazing across from the tropical forest and steps from the beach. The hotel staff were excellent, friendly, courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the restaurants and can highly recommend the deep-fried tempura ice cream at the Asian restaurant. The catamaran/snorkel excursion also picks you up right at the beach for a fantastic day of sailing/snorkelling and fun. If you are looking for some fun poolside activities, be sure to partake in the Saturday afternoon foam pool party. Tip - be sure to have your travel mug with a lid if you are having a beverage at the pool bar when the foam starts. We will definitely be repeat guests at this resort.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Awesome resort!

This is our second time to this riu resort. I was pleasantly surprised to see alot of the same staff still here. Gigi is so much fun, and Manuel, the gentleman behind the pool bar is also fantastic. All the staff are so friendly. The nightly shows are extremely well done! The rooms are very nice, they restock your fridge daily. There is a bar in your room. The food is delicious. Hotel was very nice.Staff very friendly and can't do enough for you. Service was very good.They did a nice job on the renovations.Found the buffet food was not hot. Everything was cold.The food could have been a little better for a 4 and a 1/2 star.It was nice that you didn't have to make reservations for the restaurants. Found the beach was a long walk.which is where the italian restaurant was. They almost need a shuttle to the beach.Service at all restaurants were good and around the pool. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Amazing Resort

We had the time of our lives at this resort. I was so clean and beautiful. The staff was so helpful and kind. I am rather picky when it comes to food so I didn't enjoy it as much as some however it was fair. We will definitely be visiting Bahia Principe again!!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing Resort

This resort was one of the best places I have ever been to. The food was decent and the people there are just so friendly and helpful. I wasn't to crazy about the beach by the resort but about half hour hour in Sesoua we went to the beach there and the water was clear and the sand was so fine. It was beautiful. I would recommend visiting Be Live Collection Marien in Porto Plueta.

Great value for the price,close to airport, nice pool and cold tubs, rooms are ok you just sleep in them.Staff and food was good.Would return again.Nice and close to visit downtown.locals are very friendly with alot of nice restaurants at good prices.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: VH Gran Ventana

Beautiful spot. Nice hotel. Good food. Nice beach. Average rooms. We always travel in the off season to enjoy the quite tranquility the tropical destinations offer. BUT... at this hotel the locals come in for the weekends and trash the resort. They were rude to giests. they used the pool as a tiolet for number 1 and 2. I was harrased at the bar getting my drinks. They were really pushy and rude in the buffets.. so we didnt eat. This went on for 3 days of our vacation and were really not impre [... read more]ssed. When the locals left all was normal and quiet. but will never get those 3 days back to do over again.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: So much fun!

The resort was amazing, offered a lot for entertainment while not going over board. Food was great, with a lot of selection. Room and room service were also great, only comment I have is our phone didn't receive incoming calls until the second last day of our trip (a 7 day trip). All said, I would definitely come again!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Realistic review

This was the third time we went to Be Live in Puerto Plata, DR. We love the Local food, the people especially the local feel to the resort. We are always looking for a true Carribbean flavour and a true get away from the North American way of life. This resort is on the beach, It's close to the local market and city centre as well as Maimon for a fish Meal. Approximately 20 minutes taxi ride. On the other hand,  [... read more]if you pay to stay in a standard room, we had problems with the condition of the rooms. They definitely need some serious upgrading. We changed from Bldg 4 to bldg 2 due to problems, moldy smell and plumbing problems in all 3 rooms. There were 6 of us. and even after being switched, the air conditioning did not work in 1 room all week, and the other it worked only on very very cold temperature. When lowered the condensation is so much the room looked like it rained. Wet floors, walls etc. plumbing was still a problem. I don't think the rooms are cleaned well unless we leave a tip of at least $2 u.s /day x 3 rooms for a week can be a bit Much. Basic cleaning should Be done well without a tip. Then tip on top of.... We didn't even bother to complain anymore. We were tired.....for these accommodation problems, my family and I decided that this probably was our last visit to Be Live. Sad because we like everything else but we want to sleep comfortably on our vacation.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Not that bad

Front desk useless, but rooms were nice, pool small but easy to get chairs, beach was a little walk but gets longer as week goes on, lol. Beach is nice. Food was ok but long waits at diner, only 2restraunts open a night some times over an hour wait, all low grade alcohol, for 4.5 star this was a joke. But for money paid not bad, 10 bucks to get in and 20 to leave. Will stick to Mexico from now on there is no comparison

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Super hotel

Found the hotel and grounds to be very clean, constantly being cleaned, the Dominican people are so friendly, the staff are so helpful, nothing is to much trouble for them, the updates (pool bar) where good, the food was varied you could always find something you liked, but at times could have been hotter, overall we had a great time, the weather was a plus and we hopefully shall return to this wonderful hotel.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Used to Love it but standards are down :-(

The resort used to be so clean but this time the pools were full of crap in the bottoms there was a dirty diaper on one lounge chair for 4 days. Our walk to our room there were 5 empty pop bottles on lawn and in bush for well over a week. We never had face clothes for the last 9 days. Our fridge didn't work so our drinks were warm. Meals have gotten cheaper as there is much starches (potatoes, rice & macaroni) instead of the awesome veggie stir frys etc. that they used to serve. A 70 year old wo [... read more]man fell by pool, the lifeguard looked over at her then went back to watching pool side games. When her husband asked for a bandaid for her bleeding arm he was told by front desk to go buy some! Sad to see it went down hill as we loved going there!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Greatest Vacation

Iberostar Costa Dorado is a wonderful resort. Loved our room (building #5 ocean view), beach, food and service was great. Only complaint is with all the technology and rechargeable items guests carry with them on a regular basis, they MUST get the card reader problems fixed!!! We had to get our card recoded every time we left our room even when carrying NO electronics with us as they were mostly locked in our safe in the room.
