Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Diana lea

beds are terrible, food was ok, beach is beautiful and Cuban people are always kind and friendly! the only thing I would say is they need new mattresses, springs were popping in our backs. they did switch our room after 2 days but the beds weren't any better

Roc Arenas Doradas: Roc Arenas Dorado great resort!

This was the 2nd time I have been Ro Roc Arenas Dorado and I loved it, so much so that possibly back there again in April 2020. The staff at the front desk were amazing and very helpful as for the Buffet and the snack bar. The best part is that the staff serving me from April remember me and where very happy to see me back again. Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Decent Resort

The resort was beautiful, clean, and had nice architecture. My biggest complaint was that they were always running out of food and drink items. Some of the staff were incredibly friendly and hard working but others were rude and lazy. The rooms were cleaned and stocked consistently and the front desk was always willing to answer any questions we had. Overall, I think it was good but they were definitely lacking in certain areas. Playa Vista Azul: Stay at Cuba

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. There was some cleanliness/food guidelines that were not adhered to and we had bathroom troubles from day 3 to 4 days post vacation. The beach is right beside the neighboring resorts beach and we could never find the "other beach" where the extra activities were located (we didn't look too hard so this may be our fault). Everyone was nice to us at the resort and were helpful when we needed something.

Palma Real: Mediocre

The location was great 1 minute away from the beach and main downtown attractions. The food was mediocre and often repeated. It was also not replenished often once done during buffet times nor warmed up again. Our room was also just mediocre, the main mirror had a big chunk where it was shattered. We had to look through each corner of it. Maids cleaned our room nicely and were trustworthy. Out of 4 pools only 2 were open, but they were great. Buffet staff wasn’t that nice or attentive but bar  [... read more]staff was great and reception was nice. We had some issues with our room keycard , had to go back 3 times.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Good resort overall

Beautiful property- well maintained lawns and beaches. The food was quite good. Children's club quite good and the entertainment was great. Overall a good experience. A few negatives. The first night I checked in, my room had absolutely no hydro - a technician came by 3 times and still no hydro. I was moved the next day to a room located near where my family were staying. There was water on the floor and an effort was made to make sure it didn't happen again, but the toilet needed to [... read more] be fixed not caulked. The hotel chain needs to properly train their technicians (or afford the right supplies so that the job can be done right). I know it's Cuba, but I have never had this experience even at a lesser rated hotel.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Lovely vacation

The hotel was lovely. Well kept grounds, everything immaculate, staff friendly and helpful. Very glad there was no loud music playing on the beach. A bit too noisy at pool area. Room quiet and comfortable. Food varied and plentiful. Would certainly return.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Below expectations

There was no special area for star prestige checking in, reception staff did not explain all the privilege of that level. We know that food variety is limited but the problem the chef also has limited skills. The other staff was very friendly. There was a problem with hot water in rooms but solved after 2 days. Rooms, in general, are clean and comfortable. There are 2 elevators only for a huge building and most of the time one only is working. Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Great stay!

We stayed at Sunbeach for 4 nights. Our room had a beautiful ocean view and it was very clean. This is a two star hotel and it shows it for the amenities offered, yet it was nice. The food in the buffet was ok. If it wasn't for the rude tourists that liked to stack up the dishes with food and therefore there was not much available for others after, it would have been more enjoyable. We had the opportunity to meet with the GM and Front Desk Manager, both very nice and professional ladies and shared our views with them. The staff in general was nice. The location is perfect for those who like to walk around and see locals. The market is right next door as well as other shops and restaurants (not part of the hotel) The beach is amazing, very clean and there are plenty of chairs for the hotel guests. Beach towels are offered in the hotel (for a fee). We also booked a Catamaran excursion with the Cubanacan Tour Desk in the hotel and it was amazing. Highly recommended this excursion!!

Club Tropical: Amazing Resort .

I've been to Cuba about 59 times , but this was my best experience in a cuban hotel. The resort is beautiful and the people are extremely friendly. I will return back to this resort for sure. My wife and I loved the food, beach and the staff.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Would NOT recommend

Was not very pleased with the resort. Food was aweful, no hot water for 2.5 days, had to hide the toilet paper (if you had a few squares they would not replace or leave a new roll) we had to go to public bathrooms just to get some. The towels they gave you for a shower were the size of hand towels. We had to use our pool towels. The bath tubes were disgustingly dirty we had to wear our sandles in the shower. Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Experience

The hotel was very clean. Food was great, room was clean (although one cockroach did seem to make his way in at one point). My only complaint was the tourists that brought their big bubba keg drink coolers that were filling them like what seemed to be every 10min that held up the others from getting drinks. The entertainment was very well done and they offered dance and yoga classes during the days. I would highly recommend this resort.

Melia Las Americas: Great Resort

The resort was kept clean and tidy. The grounds were manicured. Buffet was great, lots of variety. Alla cart restaurants were some of the best I have been to in Cuba. Room was nice, we would have liked a King bed instead of the 2 mattresses together to make a King. First time in 10 trips to Cuba I have played golf. Great location next to the Varadero Golf club. Great value $33.00 CUC for 1/2 cart and 18 holes of golf. Course in nice condition. Lots of scenic holes along side the ocean.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Peaceful resort

We paid for the Royal Service, and were happy that we did so. This provided us with a butler who arranged everything for us, from specialty dinners to tours. Any questions or problems were promptly addressed by her. The Royal Service also gave us access to an exclusive dining room for all meals, and to a pool that is 1/4 km in length, great for swimming lengths. Out suite was spacious and had two bathrooms and a separate sitting room. The grounds are nicely landscaped and the beach is readily  [... read more]accessible and beautiful. The food is mediocre, but fine dining is difficult to find in Cuba. Certainly it was more than adequate. It was a lovely holiday.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Cuba 2019

Labranda was nice but we prefer the bungalow style resort. Thas the reason we moved to the iberostar alameda in the second day. The service at labranda is lacking staff especially at the buffet restaurant. We know the staff at alameda which was nice to see again

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Quite good

My stay at the Paradisus Princesa Del Mar was overall quite good. The staff could not have been friendlier and more helpful and the beach was magnificent. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the pool. It was relatively small compared to the loads of other Cuban resorts I've stayed at and it was always crowded, packed and loud. Not at all the relaxing environment I had hoped for. So I spent most of my time at the beach and eventually paid for a couple of nights of royal service just to be [... read more] able to use the quieter, lovely, larger pool on that side of the resort. The other thing that I was disappointed about was the food. Now, again, I've been to Cuba dozens of times so I'm only comparing to other Cuban resorts with similar star ratings. There was not nearly as much variety and the food was not as plentiful as it is at other hotels. And unfortunately I developed a severe stomach "tourista" issue while there that lasted a week back home. I have never once in all my time in Cuba over 20 years gotten ill like that. So overall a mixed experience. And not a 4.5/5 star in my opinion. But again, the staff were delightful and the beach stunning.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Gorgeous beaches

We had a mostly wonderful time at this hotel. The pools and beach were gorgeous and we made sure to make the most of them! Unfortunately the restaurants were almost completely booked out so we only managed to try one - we were disappointed that we couldn't try the others, but the one night we got in to the Italian restaurant was fabulous and worth the 4 day wait! Buffet food was okay - just a matter of finding the things we liked among the large variety of options. Room service forgot to bring us cutlery, making eating dinner a little difficult - when we asked for it, the staff member did not return (he may have misunderstood the request) so we had to go and raid the buffet for spoons and our food was stone cold by the time we got to eat it! Overall we had an excellent stay, with only a few minor hiccups. Would definitely stay again.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Beautiful Resort!

Gorgeous resort! great layout - everything is easy to find and access. Staff is very pleasant, even the reception desk which usually are not very friendly. Amazing beach! Resort could use some updating - safe required service (would not lock), front door required service (lock broken), patio door (would not lock). we called the front desk and all were resolved within 20 minutes.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Horrible Resort!

The resort does not provide what they advertise, the language barrier is terrible which makes it extremely difficult to communicate, no activities, no lifeguards, food is TERRIBLE- stone cold, same food all the time, not fresh etc! I don't have enough words or time to describe how horrible this resort is!
