VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Splendid...

We had a great time. The staff were very friendly. Our room was always very clean. The fridge was always refilled. The food was excellent. I recommend it to all for a nice vacation with children. Very close to Puerto Plata. West Jet offers nice tours. The hotel offers bellboy service rides to small Plaza for shopping or you can walk there nice 5 minute walk.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Food and crew was excellent

Casa Marina Reef resorts was actually not bad except they need to scrub the washroom and the room thoroughly or maybe paint the wall with more inviting color and all the bed lining needs to either wash or replace because the one that was on our bed seems like it's never been wash,it has stain(I don't know what kind of stain it is but it's gross)the green pillows need to be replace(they stinks) or maybe just remove it ,the bed skirt also needs to be wash or change.,the lamp is so dusty .The whol [... read more]e room needs a good renovation(fresh paint,new lamp, new bed skirts etc. The food was great(no complained about that).The people that was working are all friendly except the people(vendors) that comes and sell stuff.They're crooks.I bought 2 shot glass and 2 bead bracelet and he was charging me $35 US.Also this place is good for people who wants JUSt to relax because the entertainment SUCKS(who wants to play darts?) Btw they don't have exercise room so you have to make up your own excersie routine.They don't have good music played by the pool.Jacuzzi sucks because it wasn't heated,the only problem when it comes to food ,the fine dining where you reserve the seating SUCKS..the buffet food is much better .

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Amazing resort

This was my second stay at the Blue Bay Villa,what a beautiful welcome l received by everyone,our representative Harry Poter was such a pleasant young man and remembered me even my name.Of course feeling very special at that point.the grounds are beautifully kept,l ilike that there are 3 pools.opening at 8 a.m. until 11.Always something to eat if you missed the buffet.Took advantage of the gym as well as the jaquzzi.Would very much recommend the Blue Bay. .

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great stay!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 10 days it was a very nice resort! The staff was very friendly. There was many activities during the day. The buffet was average food, I highly recommend booking at the a la carte restaurants the food was amazing ! We are very happy with the trip and would recommend!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Fantastic!

Great staff, amazing food, and all around amazing experience. I have suggested the resort to many friends! The drink list was great, would like to see more variety in regards to beers. Many good things to say about Blue Bay.

Riu Merengue: Good Resort for the value

The best part was the staff, the hotel itself needs some upgrades and the food could be better; however, our experience was fantastic, the beach and the pools were great!!! Very clean, organized and people really make an effort to serve you the best they can.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: My review of this Grand Bahia Principe

I enjoyed my stay at this resort, the food was fantastic the beach was nice and the staff were friendly. The only complaint was the amount of bug bites we both came back with and the lack of English that staff was able to speak. The nightly entertainment was slightly under budget but still entertaining to watch. The pool was a very noisy place to be since the games and music would always be happening. The a la cart was definitely a step up from the buffet and was extremely delicious. Our hotel room was a standard hotel room and was nothing special, the plumbing was very low flow and we used the lobby washroom majority of the trip. Sometimes around the one side of the lobby you would get a big wave of smell of sewage which was slightly unpleasant. Overall though I had an excellent time on my vacation, a few minor things about this resort but its nothing that to me would make or break a trip. The staff were very nice and made us feel very welcomed the whole trip.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Dont Believe the BAD ratings!!!!

I've been to at least 30 different resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico, This one is good value for the money. The food is NOT BAD!!! Go to CUBA and get BAD food! We were travelling with a party of 9, between the ages of 13-43 and there were NO complaints about the food, there was a good selection! No one got overly sick- other than a few upset tummies, to much drinking and sun. Alcohol is NOT watered down like most of the resorts I've been to- beware you will get drunk!! The pool is big and nice [... read more], the ocean has seaweed...and the beaches... but overall its not that bad...just swim past the seaweed. There are free water sports on the resort so utilize that!! The sand is a nice sand, comparable to Cancun. The water color is medium- Cancun nicest- Cuba and here next and Puerto Vallarta least (But I LOVE the people in PV) The rooms are alright, they are nothing exquisite but you are not paying for 5 star at this hotel. King size bed is very hard, the rest of the beds were better, only ours that was hard. we were in room 1206 and could see the ocean. We had 4 rooms. They do allow the locals in on the weekends, but I asked around and ALL resorts do this, so don't think if you go somewhere else you will be avoiding that issue. They are pushy and rude. It was the LEAST favorite part of the trip. Watch out for the French Fry trays cause they swarm around them and are very very rude!!! Take your tours on the weekends- that way you are around that as little as possible) The staff is not the friendliest that I've ever been around- Mexico has the BEST people, but certainly not the worst either! We almost did not go here because of the TERRIBLE ratings, we almost transferred and that would have been a BAD choice, as It was overall one of the better resorts I've been to. The Waterfalls were very cool, All 9 of us went and Enjoyed. The zip lining and Monkeys the Kids really enjoyed and the snorkeling in Sousa was great! If you get your hair braided in the near by market, Condition your hair before you go- Freshly washed, as we all got our hair braided (7 of us) and they almost ripped our hair out! No concern for knots- just yanked! IT was Breezy not Windy- Cuba is Windy. Warm weather there 7 days and 5 were sunny and hot.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Awesome Vacation

This resort had a lot to offer with 5 pools and 3 bars, as well as a very entertaining "Entertainment Group" and friendly staff. Not for the weak at heart - there are LOTS of stairs! The beach area isn't the greatest, but they make up for it with their own beach area - large sand area with lots of loungers and a few cabanas available. It was advertised that food was available 24 hours a day, but I believe it was just for the VIPs because once the restaurant closed at 10:30, no snacks or coffe [... read more]e/tea was available until 7 a.m. the next morning. The nightly entertainment was enjoyable, except for at The Dome - way too many people crowded into a small area. We were fortunate to find a seat, as many people had to stand off to the side, but our seats were way off to the side and the stage was barely visible, while there was a huge area sectioned off at the front, I'm guessing for VIPs, that remained half empty. Our room was spacious and clean, but the air conditioning in our room was not the greatest.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing resort

It was a good hotel... food was awesome and they were very friendly... great place to pass an anniversary... had ocean view which was nice as well. Went to ocean world and got to see dolphins upfront and sharks

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Time

Hotel grounds are well maintained. The seaweed on the beach was never cleared the whole week we were there. The beach in front of the hotel is full of seaweed. Service was okay. Food was good. A couple of times I had to wait for food to replenish. There was one guy managing two different food sections. He had to run back and forth between the two sections to replenish the food what I found was a little bit weird. They should have at least onee guy per station.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Very nice resort

This resort is very clean and well kept. Service/people are great here. Food was very good. A la cart meals were nice and the buffet restaurant had a lot of great options and good quality. The main pool was very noisy (Lots of kids) but clean, well kept and nice pool bar. We spent most of the day on the beach which was very nice. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful resort

Costa dorada was amazing. The staff from the animation team, to the wait staff and bar staff and cleaning staff were amazing and very welcoming. Hotel was clean and the food was plentiful and amazing. Kids Club staff were amazing with the kids.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort

The hotel, staff and food were awesome. The only downside for us were the beds and pillows. They were horrendous. That would be the only reason I would not return to this resort. Which is a shame because the beach, pool area and especially the food is outstanding. Best food on a resort hands down.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Wonderful Honeymoon.

Loved the beach and the grounds. We had a regular room, and it was very nice. The food was amazing, with lots of variety. Staff were approachable and kind. Our only complaint is the Circle One staff (vacation club/timeshare). They took 2 hours of our vacation time to try and force us into buying a time share with them. This was not appreciated in the least.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Amazing Experience

I loved staying at the bahia prince San Juan, the people were very welcoming and is a amazing for a family vacation. I'm very picky with hotels rooms and I was happy on how clean they are with the whole resort. I will be coming back for next time 😊.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great time overall!!

The hotel was nice, clean and perfect for relaxing adult getaway! Food very good, beach beautiful but cod of done without all pirranas (venders). Staff service great and timely when needed. Would return for sure for girls getaway or couple retreat!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great resort

This will be the third time i have travelled to the Gran Ventana i always enjoy this resort and the atmosphere it provides. The resort was very clean. Amazing staff that did there very best at trying to get everyone envolved with activities and pool games. The food at the gran ventana had to be the best i have ever tried while staying in the dominican republic, and this has been my seventh time traveling to this beautiful country. Another amazing factor about this resort is that it is only a 25 minute drive from the airport wich is very convenient for eager travellers like myself. Overall was a great experience and we will be returning to the resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Friendly and cozy resort

Our overall experience and stay at the resort was pleasant though the arrival was pretty unusual. We were herded to the side of the lobby instead of the usual check in at the counter. This could have been done more efficiently instead. The staff members are friendly and always smiling. Our room was comfortable and clean and thank goodness the AC works and no water clogged in our bathroom. TV channels included BBC and HLN to keep us updated throughout , you see we are news addict. Beach and pool area are well maintained however you see plastic cups on the beach due to strong afternoon wind which blew them away easily when its empty😉 The gym area which was used frequently was functioning well basic equipment treadmill stair master and a stationary bike. Safety wise like anywhere else, have to be careful and not wonder off unless you are familiar and speak the language. We definitely stood out as we have the word tourist written on our forehead being the minority group. They have nightly entertainment and a notice is put up on the board on the programs scheduled through out the day. Played volleyball or rather picking up the ball most of the time but we had fun. There were beach vendors walking to sell souvenirs and offering massages. We were approached many times and kept saying no thank you and after a few days they almost stopped coming. We did a half day City Tour excursion which included a cable car ride to the botanical garden, jewelry, rum, cigar factory and down area. Overall we had a great time and returned home totally relax.
