VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great resort

This resort was perfect. The food in the buffet could not have been better. Ever day at the carving station was a different kind of meat and the sides were delicious. The quiet pool was great in the mornings and we loved the woman behind the bar. I have never been to a resort that has been so clean and everywhere you look there is some kind of person working or cleaning. The staff are some of the friendliest I have ever seen at a resort. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Below expectations

I typically vacation in Cuba, but thought I would give the DR a chance. Check in was slow. We kept getting moved to new lines then ignored. We finally got to our room, and it wasn't cleaned from the last guests. We found some of their clothes still in the drawers. When the ceiling was leaking water, we called maintenance and they never came. Not enough loungers at the beach. Had to be there before 8am to get a spot. The pools were great. The liquor options were not much better than in Cub [... read more]a. Food in buffet was good. Enough variety and quantity. The resort is massive. Their maps aren't updated. They keep moving the a la cartes. I wouldn't go back, but it didn't stop me from having fun.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing beach

Stayed at Bahia principe El Portillo for two weeks. We had a wonderful time The food was good and so was the service Beautiful beaches!! The rooms are dated and need to be renovated. Premium alcohol is extra charge not included. Overall we had a good time and will probably re visit in the future

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Very nice place to be on vacation

Lack of transportation on the ground. We been in building 1 and was very far from eating area. Being on the beach we have to go for the lunch in reception area and back. My wife had a back operation and was very hard to her to go there. Many times she skips eating because she wasn’t able to go there. Otherwise all was very good. Clean rooms, Food excellent, everyone can find things they like. All employees very polite and trays to help if they can

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Relaxers Palace

Well groomed and maintain grounds. Food top notch too many choices for a 3 day stay. Rooms ok and clean not a cramped space. Uncrowded hotel with lots of land and beachfront land and chairs.to go with it.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Great resort

This was a great resort, providing all the comforts. Plenty of staff on hand to provide assistance. Very friendly. Super clean. Could have presented some evening entertainment in the theatres.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Very nice resort

This is our 3rd time to this resort. We have stayed all 3 (Colonial, elegance and Mirage) all of them are very nice but of course elevate in price. The food was good and none of us had issues. We ate breakfast in the main buffet and lunch at the beach buffet. The beach as usual is fantastic and no or very little seaweed at this time of year (mid Dec.) Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Nice resort

We loved that it was Adjlts only. Clean resort. Lots of Al a carte restaurants. They were good and ok. The restaurants were beautiful but the food didn’t coincide Some people really liked the food but it was ok for us. Service was great. Rooms were very clean but dated. They could have used more staff serving around the pool as we always had to get our own drinks at the bar. The bathrooms at the pool only had two stalls in the ladies room for tons of people. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Dissapointed

We arrived at Punta Cana Majestic Elegance Dec 3/2023 with WestJet Vacations for one week stay. It was no doubt the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in, and we travelled a lot last 30 + years to Caribbean for holidays. The good : Stunning design of the hotel and all its surroundings such as restaurants, gardens, pools , theater etc. Very friendly and attentive staff helping the best way they could. Great selection of food and beverages at both buffets. Italian a la carte restaurant  [... read more]was beyond disappointing regards the quality of the food, we simply walked out, since both lasagna and snapper dinner was horrific. Another a la carte we tried was Steak House, and their chef knew how to cook, both our steaks were excellent. Fast service at all the bars, but the best experience was at the bar in the main lobby between 3-11 pm with exceptional bartender named Gary, who really magnified our experience at this stunning facility. The bad : First morning after our arrival we simply forgot to place US $ 5 bill tip on the bed for our maid (and we tipped a lot during our stay) , and next day upon our arrival at 5 pm from the beach we discovered that our room was not attended, and we like to make a coffee in the morning , so just for that we contacted House Keeping to arrange cleaning of our room during our dinner time. They assured us, that this will be corrected promptly, but when we came back to our room around midnight, the room was still not touched. Then that very evening my wife could not find her jewelry pouch she forgot to unpack from suitcase and place in the safe. We did not contact security, since my wife was not 100% sure she put it in the luggage during packing at home, but after our arrival back home it was clear, that she did put the jewelry in luggage, since it was not at home. So theft by the hotel cleaning staff. Maybe because we forgot to tip first day? Our room (# 1418) was on the 4th floor and the elevator was working only sporadically, on and off almost every day. Poor guests with walking disabilities and parents with buggies for the kids. So much for the 5 stars hotel..... Spraying to keep mosquitoes down was happening around 5-6 pm, when guests had their patio doors wide open, kids walking around, simply unbelievable. This activity was conducted at other hotels we have been in the past only during early hours with no guest lurking around. Safety issue, big time. The beach is very narrow (hotel is built as a noodle coming from the waterfront) and with 595 rooms there was simply no room to accommodate those hotel guests, who like to spend time on the beach. Waterfront itself had very short distance to swim from the shore since it was cordoned off by the rope and speedings boats were running all day long just past this area. Water was always very rough, so small kids had no chance to even enter the water. Theater's sound man clearly had no idea how to mix the sound properly, so professional entertainers were often not heard or barely. Such a shame for this beautiful place to watch evening shows... We are sure lot of guests are coming back for one reason or the other, but for us, this would be just too many dislikes for our vacation time. It is all only our own opinion, but hopefully it will help someone to make a wise choice how to spend time and money best possible way to enjoy the deserved time off work.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Looks like the resort is starting to cheap out

We were there in January 2023 and everything was great. Went back in November 2023 and noticed a few thinks different. Did not receive the welcome drink, no wash rags for days kept asking tho ( I know bring your own next time ) some days you had floor towels and some days you didn’t ,no pool foam party this time but it’s still advertised , had to look for bottles of water some days as fridge wasn’t restocked everyday, all shopping stores closed , they still advertise that they are open. We [... read more] were on the ground floor and for some reason the maid unlocked are patio door everyday not sure why. The animation people were awesome again. Thanks to Skinny, Babey, Capichino, Monkey, Mosquito, Luke, and all bartenders you guys were awesome. I hope the resort is not cheaping out with you guys. They need people like you guys and the resort needs to get back where they were in January

Ocean Blue and Sand: Very relaxing vacation. Superb

Liked; Mikes Coffee …wonderful decor and attention to detail by its staffing and quality of coffees and pastries superb. Ice cream hut and popcorn machine during evenings Route 99(brisket and chicken wings and salad), Italian, Mexican and Hibachi Sensai restaurants wonderful. Did not try French. international night at buffet.. very nice cheeses and great choices at buffet made it a great dinner. Pools very clean lunch down at beach very extensive. Piano bar enclosure too close to main lobby entertainment bar. They should consider swapping the priveledge club room and piano bar with the reception to alleviate this issue. Need to have more consistency throughout resort when it comes to knowing how much alcohol to mix in drinks. Many tenders lack even basic skills…. Example. Black Russian is not half and half. Spanish coffee is not americano. LOL Lots more to say but above will probably keep me coming back.

Ocean Blue and Sand: True to It's Name OCEAN BLUE

Loved this hotel as it ticked all the boxes. Lovely beach, awesome Mike's coffee shop. Icecream parlour, nice rooms, well kept grounds, friendly staff , great entertainment group and delicious food with a wide variety.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Not a 4 star resort

The room we stayed at would need more cleaning and air conditioning didn't do anything. It is supposed to be renovated but looks like it has to be renovated again. The food is the same as any other Bavaro resort and I'm sure they all get the same suppliers. The service was really good. The beach isn't the white sands of Bavaro but still good.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Didn't have good experience

Not much food for vegetarians.. we ate only rice and beans for lunch and dinner day after day. So we didn't really enjoy our stay. Also, there was no shower gel and not enough towels in the bathroom. We had to keep calling the reception to bring them over. Majority of the staff don't understand English, even the staff at the reception don't understand English that was very frustrating..

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Amazing Resort!

This was our first time staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. They have something for everyone. In the hotel, they have Escape Rooms, a Bowling Alley, an Arcade, a VR room, Lazor Tag and mini Golf. They have an ice cream parlor! The grounds and pools are beautiful. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was incredible. Very spacious and clean. The bathroom was almost as big as the rest of the suite. I am sure you could have fit 5 or 6 people in the shower room alone. The foo [... read more]d was always very good with lots of options. Sadly, the Lazy River was closed for renovations when we got there, but we had fun playing in the Ocean. Overall, had a wonderful week and would definitely recommend it. Tropical Deluxe Princess: Tropical paradise

The pools grounds and public areas were constantly maintained. Our room was amazing. The staff eager to please and very helpful. Only downfalls are the sand fleas and that the pool entertainment was quite loud during siesta time. Did not see any nightly shows as the started too late for us.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: RELAXING

EXTREMLY WELL MAINTAINED RESORT, CLOSE TO SAMANA AIRPORT WITH CONFIDENT AND, WELCOMING STAFF WORKING AS A TEAM TO INSURE THEIR EFFORTS ARE REWARDED FOR BY THE PAYING CUSTOMER. ROUGH BUT BEAUTIFUL BEACH

Riu Republica: Not a 5 star!!

We have travelled to Punta Cana multiple times. We’ve stayed at family resorts and also adults only resort. This resort was by far the worst. We booked this resort based on the fact that it was adults only and a 5 star. It is not a 5 star! The resort was dirty and not well maintained. The food at the main buffet was awful. We were looking forward to the restaurants until we arrived there and realized all the restaurants are also buffet style!! The food there was also terrible. The rooms were r [... read more]un down. The pillows were awful. We are extremely disappointed and feel as if we were fooled into booking this resort as trip central advertises it as a 5 star. We feel very disappointed.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Hotel has changed.

Have been coming here for eight years. Booked for fall vacation. Told 2 weeks after I booked that it had been changed to a family resort and no longer an adults only. Good luck with that. Will never book again with Wyndham resorts.
