Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Good place!!

It was my second visit there this year. The staff are really nice. The rooms are keeper cleaned and had no issues. We spent our time by the ocean. I have no problem walking, but went this time with an 80 year old. It’s a little far and washroom are also far for the elderly. Besides that, it’s a great place to visit.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Exceeded all expectations — I’ll be back!

We came with pretty much no expectations, just hoping for some sun and beach time — and ended up getting so much more. The beach is absolutely stunning: picture-perfect blue water and soft white sand. The food was great — not Michelin-star level, but genuinely tasty with a wide variety. There were always fresh salads, fruits, something grilled, and lots of options at every meal. Even with fewer guests, the team put on fun, creative shows every night — live music, games, mini disco, and great performances that ended with dancing. Way better than the usual recycled Michael Jackson shows I’ve seen at other Cuban resorts! Staff were warm, helpful, and made the stay even more enjoyable. I’ve been to other resorts in Cuba, but this one truly exceeded expectations. Highly recommend, and would happily return!

Hotel Playa Coco: My second home

Absolutely beautiful and upmost friendly staff. Very welcoming and nice room. Amazing beach and great variety of food . You will fall in love with the view and the people make friends. Always a pleasure to be at Hotel Playa Coco ?

Hotel Playa Coco: Amazing resort

Great resort, lots of things for the kids to do. Child care during the day and a great playroom and playground. Food is delicious, restaurants are amazing! Suites and staff are simply the best! This is our 5th visit. Can't wait to go back!

Melia Jardines del Rey: A Memorable Stay with Room to Improve

We recently returned from a stay at Meliá Jardines del Rey and overall, we had a really enjoyable vacation. There’s a lot to love about this resort, and while a few things could be improved, the positives far outweighed the negatives for us. **Let’s start with the good stuff** — and there’s plenty! The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful, with well-maintained gardens and direct access to a stunning beach. One thing to note — the front left side of the beach is quite rocky, so we definitely recommend bringing water shoes if you plan to swim there. However, if you head further to the right side of the beach, the shoreline becomes much sandier, making it easier to walk into the water. Just keep in mind that there are sandbars in that area, so the water tends to stay shallow — usually only ankle to knee deep — for quite a stretch. You’ll need to walk out a bit farther to reach waist-deep or deeper water. Great timing for us to come because there were always palapas to pick and lounge chairs anytime of the day. The pools are expansive and clean, offering both quieter spots and more lively areas depending on your mood. The **entertainment team deserves a big shoutout**. They were friendly, energetic, and worked hard to keep guests engaged with activities throughout the day and into the evening. From beach games to live shows, we had a lot of fun — never a dull moment if you’re open to getting involved. Special mention goes to Ailyn and Adalberto who made one of the best night event possible and fun! Would have loved to have dance night every night at the Mojito bar to keep the action going. As for food — you **will not go hungry here**! Between the buffet, snack bar, and pizza bar, there's always something to eat. Excellent pizza! Buffet can be repetitive but try not to indulge in all the food in one day. Pace yourself out so try something new each day. We especially enjoyed the à la carte restaurants, it added a nice change of pace and felt more personalized. There's always a choice for everyone. That said, there are a few areas for improvement. The room was very clean, but the bathroom could use some updates, better lighting, and a more efficient toilet. We had minor maintenance issues—mainly with the door lock, which didn’t always work properly. Though staff responded quickly, it still required a bit of a workaround. The balcony door lock also failed on our last day, but it wasn’t a major issue as we were checking out. On the bright side, housekeeping was excellent. Special thanks to Leah and Leesandra for keeping the room spotless and the fridge well-stocked. Despite these minor issues, we truly had a great time. The **staff were warm and welcoming**, and it’s clear they work hard to make sure guests enjoy their stay. If you come with the right expectations — a beautiful setting, variety of food, and lots of fun — you’ll have a wonderful time. We would definitely return, especially knowing what to expect. With a few small tweaks, this resort could easily become exceptional.

Melia Cayo Coco: Another Great Stay

This time we stayed in one of the refurbished rooms and everything was just great. The grounds are kept in great shape also. We were happy to see the staff again and they treated us like family. One slight drawback from past visits was no coffee in the room due to supply problems, I would presume. They did have a kettle and tea bags so bring a jar of instant coffee if you wish a morning coffee before venturing out in the morning. Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great vacation in Cayo Cruz

My wife and I visited Iberostar Esmeralda Coral and loved it. Everything was great and exceeded my expectations. Food was very good service was excellent and the people made you feel welcome to be there . We enjoyed the vibe of the smaller Adult side Coral and the swim out we had. The beach was amazing as it was a while since I’ve been to Cuba and it is their best asset . I would definitely return to this resort and recommend

Highly Recommended Resort - Staff is amazing , Pools and Beaches are fantastic and the food is excellent . Very Very Clean resort . You are able to have the best of both worlds - Relaxation and fun when you want .

Sanctuary White Sands: Great Resort

Everything is easy to access, lots of food, beach is nice. Staff are very friendly. Big pool. I would return again. We were there for 2 weeks, nothing bad to say! We did not go to a la carte restaurant, the buffet had everything we needed.

We went in the first week of May, a short 10-minute bus ride from the airport. It was amazing, great, brown eggs made to your liking, bacon sausage pastries, lots of fruit, watermelon, mangoes, melons, and papaya. Pasta, fish, pork, beef, crab and chicken in the buffet. Pizza is excellent at the pool bar. Lots of renovations have taken place. Entertainment was excellent. It is not a party resort, it is great for a quiet and relaxing vacation. We will return

Melia Costa Rey: Amazing Resort

My partner and I visited this resort April 28th to May 5th 2025. We stayed at the Level side; however, enjoyed all aspects of the hotel. Extremely clean resort, stunning lobby area with a beautiful view of the ocean. Beaches are well kept daily, food was delicious and all staff were extremely friendly. Sanctuary White Sands: Plesently Suprised!

An honest review, hotel was clean, staff were very attentive, you could see they were trying a lot to make your experiance memorable! I would go again if the prices for 10 days were in around $1100 CND, with premium service! Beach and ocean were amazing! grounds were well kept pool was clean and refreshing, If I had something negative to say it would be the quality of food and availability of said food! Sanctuary White Sands: Adult Only Resort-Santuary White Sands

1) Upon arrival April 29, 2025 Bedsheets were found very dirty and visibly dirty. 2) Top bed cover was also very dirty. 3) Left 2 x notes for maid to provide new clean ones. 4) The resort design is perfect as many paths to your room, pool, etc. 5) With respect to staff during Buffet for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Example: I placed food and drink on my table. Then I was told by female waitress - good bye, good night. I then showed her the food at my table. No response from her. This happened 2-3 times a day. 7) All seating at buffet dirty/soiled/greasy. The chair pads need to be washed daily or change the pads to plastic so staff can wipe with soapy cloth at each meal time Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. 8) Hotel Staff at front desk pleasant with a smile each day.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing beach

I stayed there with my mom for 7 nights. After the initial mixup with getting a room with one king bed instead of 2 beds as requested everything was pretty good. Beach is wonderful. Food was a bit repetitive but a lots of options to choose from. No shortages of food or electricity during our stay.Stuff was helpful and very friendly. Tips can get you more than you’ve bargained for. We were provided with a complimentary room to take a shower on the last day before leaving for the airport and we we [... read more]re free to use all amenities and eat even after checking out at noon. All in all very good experience and would definitely recommend and go back.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Avoid Russian owned hotel

This hotel resort was the worst and I've been to cuba many times. The Safes never opened, the door locks and key cards dont work as batteries are all dead. The food was lacking and the pizza place wasn't open. The snack bar menu stated fries and poutine all they had was ham sandwiches. There was no coffee bar open and the cappuccino was not good. We were told by all staff that Russians are coming to buy the resort May 30th. One Russian tourist had a fight with his wife at bar and broke her  [... read more]leg. Another Russian tourist grabbed a buffet worker by the face demanding she do what he wanted. 2 Russians drowned at the resort next door for not obeying ocean flags...my trip was a disaster. The staff are super friendly. Sadly I fed alot of them as they are not allowed in buffet until before or end of guest use. And they get fed the crap spaghetti. Sanctuary White Sands: Beautiful beach nice pools

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very affordable holiday. Nice resort but needs some TLC.

We stayed here about 16 years ago and the place was very nice. On this return trip, it was obvious that Memories Flamenco is an older resort. It needs a complete paint and plaster job inside and out to the rooms and buildings to make them more up to date and fresher. The bed was very comfortable. Very good water pressure in the shower with plenty of hot water. Cleaning staff and serving staff were great and very friendly. The pool was well maintained with some newly added poolside beds and perg [... read more]olas. The food was some of the best we've had over our our several Cuban vacations. Didn't appear to be any supply issues like last year.

Our expectations, based on other people’s reviews for this hotel and our last year’s trip to another Melia resort in Cuba, were probably too high… Disappointed with rooms (e.g. small ants everywhere, including in bed at some point, quite aggressive), buffet food (passable, you will not leave hungry but quality of the cooked food is mediocre, at best) and general state of the resort (a 15yr old working a summer job in Canada will do a much better job at renovating / no green grass to speak of, ev [... read more]erything is parched / pools not clean / beaten up furniture / bathroom doors that don’t close, you get the idea). On the positive side: a very nice beach, new palapas and beach chairs, good selection of drinks, good service in restaurants and bars, good entertainment. I would not go back though, negatives outweigh these positives.
