Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Good hotel

An older hotel but well maintained. rooms are comfortable and pools are great for the whole family particularly children. The tennis courts have an uneven surface but playable. The food in the a la carte restaurants is good but the buffets is at best average. If the food was up graded it would be a great resort.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Won’t go back!

This was our 4th and final visit to Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach. Had no air conditioning for 8 days. The phone in our room never worked (really missed it as we were a group of 14). The fire alarms went off every night a few times. They ran out of white wine AND red stripe beer, serving Dominican beer as a substitute. Food was good, but presented poorly. Decameron La Marina: Enjoyable

The Decameron hotels have expanded to three properties in Rincon. Nice that you can use all three as you wander about that long beach. Very Mexican, and not your typical westernized all inclusive, which is either good or not, depending on your perspective. This trip marks our tenth visit to the Decameron in Rincon. The people in general and the staff at the hotel are incredibly friendly and helpful keep going back.

Decameron La Marina: Fun vacation

This hotel is smaller but has all the amenities we needed . Kayaks , paddle boards , not a lot of events at the pool but we were ok with that . Rooms were clean , showers hot , public areas clean! Food that should be cold was kept on ice! Not a ton of variety but lots of it , fresh salads and fruit. One downfall was one front desk employee did not speak ANY English , hopefully that was rectified . All other staff were pleasant and helpful. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Royal Decameron was awesome!

We chose Royal Decameron because of its location. We love Bucerias and stayed many times before, but never in an all inclusive. This resort and its staff were incredible. The buffet food is just that, buffet food, but with enough options to please the picky palate. The beauty of this location is if you tire of the buffet and a la cartes, you will find a charming little taco place or restaurant along your walk into Centro Bucerias. The Chedraui grocery store is a convenient 10 minute walk wher [... read more]e you can find everything you may have forgot to pack... also a great place to pick up momentos if you are not into bartering on the beach or marketplace. We booked an Ocean Front room in Building 1, third floor and it was spectacular! A 180 degree view of the beach ensures incredible mornings and sunsets! Although this complex is rather large, it didn't seem so, if that makes sense. We meandered around the complex and everything was easily accessible. There was even an adults only section, where the majority of the seniors stayed as it is geared to be a quiet zone, so if you tire of the pounding music and animation team, or the kids splashing, this is the place to get a break. The beach is beautiful! Sure you have the early morning chair savers (which resort doesn't) but there was always a sufficient amount of chairs/palapas for all interested. Also, plenty of chairs around the many pools. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Decameron, and will return next year.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Great 10 days at royal decameron Cornwall!

Just returned home Dec 1 2022 from royal decameron Cornwall Beach. Many original employees and met the new ones. Food great and good variety. Rooms maintained and cleaned as they were pre-covid. Several sanitize stations throughout and all food preparer wore masks. No issues with Beach towels. In bed early so cannot comment on night shows. Beach area very clean. Bars fully stocked. Manager and general manager very visible and ready to address any concerns or suggestions. My 8th time at [... read more] this resort and will continue to recommend it. It remains a 4 star hotel in my opinion, but give it 5 stars for this rating. My only negative comment is they now allow the decameron resort next door full access to the beach, bar, and food service. During busy times, this may be a problem for Beach spots and chairs. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Has definitely declined since Covid.

The rooms are kept very clean but are worn and need some updating. Housekeeping is amazing!!!! Staff as always are pleasant and friendly. Language is never a barrier here. They may not speak much English but communication is fun and friendly. Bar staff are always amazing, friendly and with a ready smile! Food is not the high point in this resort. Selection and culinary skills have declined whether due to food costs or shortages, we spent a lot more money on eating elsewhere than we ever have  [... read more]on any other vacation. You never would go hungry but the menu is extremely repetitious and is the same in all buffets. With this all being said the DeCameron is not a 5 star resort and you do get what you pay for. Other than the food issue I would not hesitate to go back.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Old resort that could use to be updated.

The grounds were fine but most of the common areas were very run down. The wait staff at the buffets for the most part were quite good but the staff behind the counters were sometimes rude. Certainly wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone I like.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Disappointing Decameron

This was our fourth visit to Royal Decameron, Montego Beach. We did not get the two bedded room we requested in the main building on a higher floor but a double bedded room in the Sunset Bldg on ground floor. The room was damp with the door facing the ocean which did not open/close properly. We were told it was due to the humidity. Also two stairs to get into the bathroom with a fixed glass shower door which pushed water onto the floor. Closet also warped from humidity. We waited until  [... read more]4:00 pm the following day to move to the main building. A king bedded room. Toilet did not flush properly and lights in bathroom needed to be replaced. We reported this on Nov.11 and it was fixed on Nov.15. Elevator in main building is no longer there and there are flour floors? Front Desk advised it is "good exercise". I updated AC rep - never received a reply after two messages and phone calls. She advised there is no rep on hotel site and AC does not have access. But Air Transat does? Appreciating that COVID has presented challenges, however no quality control on maintaining the rooms. Tables in restaurant often not set or missing cutlery/glasses - restaurant was not busy during our stay. Dirty plates left outside doors for two days. We always enjoyed Decameron and never complained before, hence our return, but not this time. I visited the newer sister hotel next door which seemed better organized and staffed. Grounds and pool area were their usual good standard as before - no complaints. Management needs to step up. I will also be contacting AC and Decameron.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Ok

The resort was “ok”. Buffet repeated itself and there are only 2 a la carte restaurants that do not change their menu. Bottled water is extremely hard to come by … the room fridge was sometimes stocked however only 2 cokes, 2 beer and maybe 2 bottles of water. Bathroom towels were also scarce. Calling the front desk, although very nice - your request was never actioned. We had no wifi in our room and yet everywhere else on the property was fine.

The resort grounds are gorgeous, and the staff were lovely. We stayed in area 2 which was noisy at night, as the “party pool” was on one side and the “theatre” was on the other side. The shows are extremely loud and end by 10:30-11. The room was comfortable, and bedding when we arrived clean. The water in shower was not hot at any time.. but warm.. if you shower late afternoon. Luckily we held on to our used ones the last day, or we couldn’t have showered. The food was okay.. but nothing was impressive. I wouldn’t recommend for kids as they don’t provide cereal and only had 1 toaster in the middle restaurant, which we found 3 days before leaving. The beach was lovely !

The hotel was crowded and there was not enough staff. Just too many people coming into the complex. One pool area and restaurant was closed for renovations so that made the other two restaurants and pool areas crowded. There was not enough staff to clean the public washrooms around the resort so some were in bad shape and not very clean. We were in building 3 and just behind us was where the nightly entertainment took place and it was very, very loud. This went on for 1 1/2 hours. The Sunwings rep did not show up until we were ready to leave so we had to go to customer services to find out when the bus was coming to pick us up for the return trip to the airport, as it turned we had to take a taxi to the airport, which Sunwings paid for. This was not a 4 star resort.

Hotel is dated and in need of upgrading. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean but food and drink were awful. We ate and entertained off resort all of the time to try and save our vacation. Hotel is noisy day and night.

We had read the reviews and I have to admit I was skeptical, but we were pleasantly surprised with the entire complex! The staff are wonderful ! We stayed in the ocean front block (# 1) and it was fabulous. We have never traveled to Mexico in September and I guess the resort was more quiet than it would be in the high season which was a bonus .The weather was awesome every day despite being the rainy season with amazing lightning and thunder some nights ! We went to one of the evening shows which was good. There was always a decent selection at the buffet so we never bothered with the specialty restaurants. The adult pool is huge and warm and I would guess being September , we never had a problem finding lounge chairs at the pool or at the beach. A few tips , also mentioned in other reviews as well - -Bring a wash cloth if you want one ( none were provided although we didn't ask as I brought my own ) - Bring a cheap air mattress floaty for the lounge chairs , they are kind of uncomfortable without one ( we just give ours away at the end of our trip ) - As always , bring a good insulated cup for cocktails Notes - - The keys are given to you on a laynard which I believe is new and they did not charge us for use of the safe key - We did get some wifi in the room ( block 1 ) however we were very close to the lobby bar so maybe that was just lucky ( Free wifi only in some common areas ) so I wouldn't think this is typical although I believe you can purchase wifi if need be . - Showers are not exceptionally warm if that matters to you -Not sure where to get coffee before 7 so we brought a mini coffee maker and coffee as I get up early - About 50 pesos to the Bucerias market place in a cab or a 15 to 20 min walk - We did not go into Puerto Vallarta but I did hear that you could cab for about 50 dollars ( I assume US?) or take a bus for a few dollars All in all I would say this was great trip and we would go back to the RDC again . Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great Resort!

We just returned from the Royal Decameron Complex. We have been there numerous times and each time we come home feeling great and relaxed. This time was a little different as we experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4. The staff was great in getting all the guests to a common area where we would be safe until it was safe to go back to the resort. When we arrived at the resort it was at 51% occupancy coming up to 91% by the time we left. Even though it was busy there was no line ups to get into the restaurants. Most guests were very good at social distancing and masks were not mandatory anywhere on the resort. There is hand sanitizer as you enter the restaurants and around the complex We will return next year to our second home. Grand Decameron Panama: Great beach, okay resort needs work

Hotel is very large with alot of stairs. Only air conditioning is in your room, but works well. They rotate restaurants and bars opened so busy at them. The staff all wear masks outside and inside. Most visitors don't. You have to make daily reservations for dinners. There is a big communication issue used google translation often. Buffets for breakfast are busy had to line up one day outside waiting for available table. Food is moderate, all have buffet salads, soups then order main courses.  [... read more]Desserts a few choices but at 2 restaurants waited for desserts service over 20 minutes so left. Even ordered a second glass of wine never came. Found no bars to sit at except one with about 8 tables but not open much. Even lobby only has about 4 chairs and a couple of couches to sit. Usually can't get seats at pool either because don't have all opened at a time. Beach is great not busy. Grounds need work look okay but need work, grass wasn't cut branches, leafs, rocks lying around.Resort is 5 minutes from airport. Overall okay resort but needs work.

Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Amazing time!

We went July 19-26th 2022. We had the most amazing experience! Perhaps the best part ( aside from the stellar ocean views and access ) was undoubtedly the staff! Amazing services and always genuine and with smiles. Special shout outs to Troy who was part of landscaping/ maintenance… his positive attitude brought a smile to our faces every single day! Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Beach was amazing but hotel was just OK

The hotel was situated on a beautiful beach with white sand and clear water, really close to the airport. You can sit there all day and just watch the planes come in. Very peaceful. It was not overly packed, so there was no need to fight for beach chairs in the morning or line up at buffets. All the rooms were beach front. What the hotel lacked was the food. They are always out and they don't replenish. I've never been to a resort where at a la carte restaurant, they only had 3 of the 8 selectio [... read more]n available. Nor have I ever seen them run out of bacon at 8am, when the restaurant opened at 7. Also, having been to Jamaica multiple times in the past; there have always been a jerk hut that gave you jerk chicken and fries for 2/3 hours a day. This resort did not have much local food. Other than their Jamaican night". Overall it was an ok trip. Would I recommend it to others, I guess it would depend on why you are there - if you don't care about the food and is there for the beaches, I would definitely suggest it. But if you are going to enjoy the food, then no.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Very Disappointing

We have been to the Royal Decameron Complex over 15 times. Up to now, we have been very satisfied with the resort. My, how things have changed! The resort used to be much more welcoming to Canadians. Many staff have left because of COVID, and it appears as if the replacement staff does not have nearly the English speaking skills as their predecessors. In addition, signage was poor, and very little English was spoken. It appears as if the marketing has switched to Mexico, and away from Cana [... read more]da. The pools were disgustingly filthy. On most days, we could not see the bottom of the pool. Absolutely a health hazard. In our 1 week stay, 3 of the 5 pools were closed for at least a day in an attempt to clean them. Never before, have we seen line-ups out the door for any of the buffets, even when the resort was at 100% capacity. This trip, the resort was not full, yet the line-ups persisted. COVID protocols required all staff to wear masks at all times. Guests had to wear masks in restaurants until seated, and throughout the night show. Performers also wore masks, which really destroyed the entertainment value of the show. In addition, the shows have been cut short, and now are barely 45 minutes long. Plexiglass screens at bars and the lobby were annoying, only adding to the communication problem. A la carte restaurants no longer have menus due to COVID. Instead, the waiter rattled-off the selections, and a quick decision had to be made. The relaxing dinners at the Piccolo Restaurant have turned into a 43-minute race to finish. Perhaps this review would be more positive if we had never been to the resort before. We will likely never return.
