Catalonia Montego Bay: amazing resort and staff

Just came back Feb 11, went with 4 other adults and 3 kids 3-12 years. Were not satisfied where are room was so told air transat rep at hotel and were moved the second day. we were there for 14 nights, last year went for 7 nights.The evening service in buffet and Sorrento was wonderful. I am not very good with names but I do remember Christopher at the Barefoot shack with all the bacon cheeseburgs ans grilled cheese sandwiches and fries that you could eat. I hope this doe's not reflect on the price because right now it is very resonable. I love the manmade island it stops the ocean waves and makes it much easier to get into it. My friend and I plan on going back next year for 10 or 11 days, I got homesick. Great service great pool great vacation.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Pleasantly surprised

Just got back on February 11 2015- after reading the reviews we had low expectations but I would recommend this hotel to everyone! We booked a 7 day all inclusive through trip central.... There was a shuttle bus waiting for everyone through air transat.... The rooms were holiday inn standard but clean and everything worked..... The food was great, entertainment was great and plenty of lounge chairs for all.... The food and drinks were plentiful. The pool had daily entertainment for adults and kids.... Our kids 14 and 10 loved the ice cream, popcorn and jerk hut. If you wanted to leave the resort to go to bars, there were shuttles that took you there and back... We walked off the resort to go across the street shopping and felt extremely safe...... I want to go back!

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Extra relaxing

Very clean with freindly staff. Food was very good. Very good around the pool, no loud music blazing all day which for me, is what I'm looking for. They had a few games around the pool side but were not in your face to participate. The pool water was heated which I haven't much of in Mexico. I would go back in a heartbeat, that's for sure.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Our 8th Year!

This was our 8th year at this resort. Obviously, we are very comfortable there. It is a convenient location with buses passing by frequently to take you into town for a minimal fee. There are also taxis available at the hotel door. The staff in the dining room is exceptional, efficient and friendly. The beach is very clean and not crowded. The entire hotel and grounds are maintained in an excellent manner.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great times at the Sunspree

Best budget vacation ever.. spent 7 nights from Jan 26-Feb 2, 2015 .. wanted to go to Negril but the price was not right. Could not turn down the deal at the Sunspree. Food was fantastic and always available. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Tipping the bartenders/servers a dollar or two really goes a long way for better service. Lots of room on the beach and plenty of chairs available. The man made island is awesome! Very relaxing environment. The ocean had a lot of seaweed in it and the  [... read more]reef was very close to the shore so if you like swimming in deep ocean water the Sunspree may not be the best place for you. Adults only area at the west end of the resort was always busy but was a good spot to get away from children. The craft market located off the resort near the AO beach provided you with anything you would ever need for your Jamacian vacation. Tonys shop had the best selection and deals, look for him in the bold black ADIDAS hat. Rooms were adequate as we did not spend much time there. Snorkelling is great along the pier and the east/west end of the manmade island.. bring your own snorkel gear as the resort will not provide them if they are under red flag (we had red flag 6 of 7 days, very windy week.) Many different species of all different sizes in waist deep water. The nightly entertainment was actually amazing, they hire outside acts to come in and perform - so you don't have to watch the pool boy dress up like the Phantom of the Opera. I was surprised how good it was as I'm not usually one who enjoys the nightly entertainment. Overall, great vacation at the right price. we booked last minute (6 days in advance)

Holiday Inn Cancun Arenas: Very nice resort

The staff at this resort is amazing The meals are exceptional. Was very satisfied no one could go hungry here. The Italian a la carte was excellent. Rooms clean. I found one pool cold, this was the only one we hung at. The waiters were very attentive, Service was better then i had ever had. Just NO disco, and i love to dance.

Holiday Inn Resort Aruba: GREAT HOLIDAY!!

My Husband and I just returned from 1 week holiday at Holiday Inn Sun Spree in Aruba. It is the 4th time we stayed there and loved it. The renovations are complete and they have done a remarkable job. I like this place because every one is friendly. The resort is very clean , the food is good and the best beach location. See you next year....

Holiday Inn Cancun Arenas: Five stars sand

Hotel and room not really good but sand on beach amazing but if you like to swim go to public beach, staff very friendly and helpful, food not bad, souvenirs you can by cheaper in Mexican Store, alcohol, food and drink in Supermarket

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Very poorly maintained hotel

Twice the faucet stayed in my hand with the hot water keeping on running. No hot water for a shower three times during our stay. Had few times problems with the key/card to our room. The food was not very varied each day. For example breakfast had a choice of jam : strawberry, strawberry and strawberry. : this every morning during our 10 day stay. It was not exciting to eat the same food. Different sauces were there to impress us. Our ration of water in the room (2 bottles of 600ml). If you ne [... read more]eded more you had to pay. The beach was set with a red flag permanently. A blue one was also erected to warn you against dangerous fauna!

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: fantastic

I was very happy with this resort! It felt like a brand new resort! After the hurricane everything has been redone. The food was fantastic. There is a quite pool and a kids/activities pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean. If u enjoy swimming in the ocean - then this ia not the place for u. Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Awesome Trip, Hotel a work in Progress

It was our first stay in Los Cabos and overall our trip was great but there was some good and some things Holiday Inn need to work on. 2 weeks prior to our trip we received an email stating that the tennis courts would be shut down which was no big deal and when we arrived we found out we were given a free room upgrade to a partial ocean view with balcony which was amazing! Soon we found out though that it was not just the tennis courts that were shut down but 50% of the resort was under repair  [... read more]due to the hurricane. I was slightly miffed by this as I felt they were dishonest by not disclosing this prior to our departure as we were expecting a lot more of the facilities to be available. All the staff at the hotel was super friendly and so I brushed it off because they are recovering from the 2nd worst hurricane in the history in Mexico and every single day we saw how hard they worked and the improvements that were made each and everyday to the hotel and grounds. Just to note at what was available: 2 of 3 pools 4 out of 8 bars 1 Buffet restaurant 1 Beach Snack bar (which turned into a makeshift a la carte restaurant at night, not requiring reservations but was only open some nights we never knew when) Room Service was free but the rooms didn't have menus which made it difficult to know what was available to order. When I tried to call our phone was broken so I ended up having to go to the front desk to order. What is closed: The Spa The Tennis courts All of the a la carte restaurants and we didn't figure this out until I tried to make reservations (something that perhaps should have been communicated during check in) Entertainment was small and took place in the middle of the buffet restaurant on the outdoor patio. It took place some nights and not others but again you never knew until that night. The Rooms: The King size bed was incredible comfortable and we both had fantastic sleeps The whole room was super clean all the time The shower was roomy but either scalding hot or super cold We wish there was a fridge in the room for snacks and cold beverages including cold water. Balcony was big and nice The Food: For the most part was decent but sometimes had weird choices. Breakfast was definitely the best, omelettesm bacon, sausage, waffles, french toast, pancakes, hashbrowns, muffins, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. For 90% of the time the service was fast and efficient but other days the waiters seemed slightly disorganized forgetting your order or having longer than normal wait times. Honestly I would love to go back in a year's time and really see how this hotel operates at 100% because I think many of their issues are directly related to the hurricane recovery.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great Place for Families

We just returned from the Holiday Inn Sunspree in Jamaica. We were a group of 8 adults. The staff at this resort should be commended for their friendly and helpful nature. All staff had a smile and a ya man everyday. The rooms are cleaned and stocked daily and the resort is immaculate. Orville (water sports) was our favorite of the week. We took a day trip to Negril, 7 mile beach, yellow bird, the cave and Ricks Cafe for cliff diving. I would recommend this resort to anyone that has small kids.

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: It was okay

Rooms were clean grounds were okay despite construction going on, half the resort was closed due to the hurricane, which was unknown to us. There wasn't alot of food choices, 1 buffet and one A La Cart was surprised to see that. Was not impressed with this trip other than the weather.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great time!

I went dec 21-28 2014 with my boyfriend and had a great time. We loved the food especially the jerk hut and Italian restaurant. We went for a day trip to negril as well which was only 40$ and well worth the money. The resort is better suited for families but we still had a good time. Spent most time in the adult pool which is very small and shallow and infested with bees. Also, the beach was beautiful but very shallow so I'd recommend going off resort if you want to enjoy the ocean. Those would  [... read more]be my only complaints. Aside from that, service, grounds and food were great. Would go back for sure!

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great Family Resort

Great family resort. Public areas were kept spotless. Most of the resort had a no smoking policy. The nightly entertainment was excellent.! Beaches are awesome. Drinks fantastic.Plenty of drink bars(both alcoholic and non alcoholic) throughout the resort. Jerk chicken from the Jerk Shack was to die for.! Buffet had a good selection of Jamaican food daily. Holiday Inn Resort Aruba: Extremely friendly, clean and comfortable resort

We have just returned from Aruba after spending an amazing week at the Holiday Inn Resort. We stayed as a family (9 of us) and enjoyed it immensely. My three young grandchildren spent hours in the ocean which was so safe and beautiful and everyone did fun things like a three-hour snorkeling trip, ATV rides to discover the desert and rugged side of the island and walks out into the town at night. The rooms were comfortable (partial ocean view), the food was amazing and plentiful and the staff so friendly and helpful. I have never stayed at such a clean place, even the beach washrooms were spotless. We loved Aruba and enjoyed being at the Holiday Inn and I know I will return again one day! My one and only negative comment is the menu in the Seabreeze Restaurant. Although the food was delicious, we felt the menu should have been rotated each day for more variety - especially with three vegetarians in our party as the vegetable curry was really the only choice. A great vacation!

Holiday Inn Orlando SW Celebration Area: Nice, clean, and very affordable!

Overall the stay was nice. The staff was very friendly the moment we walked through the doors. Our room, and common areas were very clean, as well as the pool area. Miguel in the restaurant went above and beyond for us as well for a very minor issue with the kitchen being closed for a staff lunch.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Disappointed

The hotel is old. The grounds are well kept. The water is very shallow. The beach area on most days had seaweed that couldn't be kept cleaned because there was too much of it. There were backhoes digging on the beach areas to bury the seaweed as they were running out of places to put it. The weather is nice and the food was good.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great resort

We loved everything about this resort, the people, the staff, the food was great. I'd give a higher rating but $70.00 Canadian funds were taken from my husband's wallet while it was in the night table due to a faulty safe. The safe was fixed the next day.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Holiday Inn Sunspree Exceeded Our Expectations

The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica exceeded our expectations in all aspects. This was our first experience in Jamaica and we will come back (and bring other friends and family with us)! The accommodations, grounds, beach, and sports areas were clean, well maintained, and the staff friendly and helpful without exception. The tasty food in the main buffet had a variety of choices for all (breakfast, lunch, dinner) on a daily basis. And, the ala carte restaurant options and foo [... read more]d were excellent as well. We enjoyed the mini golf, snorkelling, kyaking, paddle wheelers, and catamaras, (which were all included n/c) (forgot to bring tennis shoes to take advantage of the tennis courts). The numerous beach areas always had plenty of chairs. The beach areas are broken into smaller coves along the resort which provides pleasant areas which are not congested. The location of the hotel was a short bus ride from the airport which was also a bonus in terms of time spent travelling. Overall, we had no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the resort. We would definately recommend it to others.
