Grand Oasis Cancun: Something for Everyone!

I stayed at the Grand Oasis Cancun for 7 nights between Jan. 26 and Feb. 2nd. I found the staff to be very accommodating. For a large resort, we found that the wait times for food/drinks was very reasonable ie. 5-10min max. The pool area was also good letting you pick between loud music and contests down to a quiet pool that even had a swim up bar! My only issue was the room/balcony was quiet tiny and dated. I got over that quickly as the rest of the resort made up for it.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Everything I expected - Awesome place!

Where should I start. After reading the reviews online, I was hesitant to stay at the Grand Oasis. I would like to say do not read or believe the negative reviews because they are probably written by miserable people. This place does not disasspoint. It caters to everyone - young and old. This hotel is a compound and it has so much stuff to do all the time. The beach, entertainment, drinks, food, room, and staff we're phenomenal. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Grand Oasis Riviera: So relaxing

We loved the resort! Great food options. We loved the coffee shop and sushi bar on the beach! The staff were very friendly and the resort was kept very clean. The ocean view room was beautiful! We came with our 1 1/2 year old and it was great. It's not a noisy resort so it's perfect for young families or people that want to relax more then party.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Great vacation!!

Friendly staff, clean resort - short ride from the airport. Beach was gorgeous, pool was wonderful, special thanks to Hector and Rene for the great swim up bar service. Restaurants were great, especially enjoyed the steakhouse (thanks to Gilberto and Ricardo!) The pool entertainment was fun and there was always something going on. Grand Oasis Cancun: Grand Oasis

The resort was pretty much exactly what we were expecting for our honeymoon. Beautiful grounds, huge variety for bars and restaurants, but lacking in customer service. Not exactly "all inclusive". We upgraded when we arrived so that we could experience the entire resort, and not be limited to certain restaurants.

This is a beautiful hotel but needs improvements every where. It is a little dated. They were working on improvements while we were there. This hotel is lacking staff. The staff that was there were very accomadating and very friendly. The food was awesome but had great difficulty booking for the specialty restaurants. If you are disabled in any way, this is not the hotel for you. Too many stairs. We had a few issues with our room but was fixed immediately. Grand Oasis Cancun: Good

Let me start by saying that you will be little bit disappointed at first but once you have explored the resort you will like it. We with two couples spent one week of holidays from 18 Jan to 25th, rooms are little worn out and old, long lineup at the buffet, this can be solved by just putting one more staff for omelette in the mornings, now the good news, love the beach, pools, food, entertainment, gerdens, guest of all ages, lots of young people, go with positive attitude, you will like it for  [... read more]what we paid.

Grand Oasis Sens: Definately won't be going back to this property - bad customer service

We paid for an full ocean view, but the room they gave us was in corner with barely an ocean view, Washroom was dirty so we went back to ask for what we paid for, were told they didn't haven any rooms fully sold out. to come back next day at 10am and told us not to unpack. Went back at 10 am, told us to come back at 3:30, at which time they told us they were completely booked and either take the room or go to their sister property but no guarantee they would have ocean view. After spending most  [... read more]of the day trying to get what we paid for we were finally given a room with a full ocean view, when we went up there were people in that room. Came back down and waited another 2 hours for them to find us something as our old room was now given away and we had no where to stay. We wasted a 1 1/2 days of our vacation sorting this mess out. at the end they had no choice but to give us one of their suites that had its own full walk out patio and pool. But what a hassle. Very bad customer service during check in and check out. The front desk could not make change, always told us to come back at 3pm and when we did the answer was always NO come back tomorrow at 3. We won't be going back to this property again. Buffet always had lineups even when it was not full, the 2 restaurants where you had to make reservations were full for over a week so the food choices were repetative and few. There were about 5 other couples that we ran into that had some kind of issue with their room (ceiling was leaking from above floor, washrooms were dirty, assigned rooms that weren't cleaned or had been assigned to someone else, keys wouldn't work) just a mess. The staff at the front desk were very rude and not helpful, but all other staff were very pleasant. The propery grounds were well kept, good choice of entertaintment but limited choice for food, 2 of the restaurants were booked solid with no openings for a full week while one was closed all the time even though the sign said open at 7pm. Buffet lineups almost everyday at breakfast, lunch and dinner even though there were many empty tables, service was slow in the buffet. No a good experience and would not recommend to anyone.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Disappointment

When we got there we had to wait in line to check it. There were only 4 groups ahead of us and check in took 1 hour. Another line up in the morning for breakfast for about 20 minutes. No variety to the food. same at each breakfast and supper buffet. You can not book the ala carte restaurants. More lineups. Waited around 40 minutes for lunch 1 day at the grill only to be told that they were all out of the kebabs. They had only been open for about 2 hours. Housekeeping was good. Grand Oasis Palm: Good resort

The beach is beautiful! And the food was good! But some staff can be rude and just don't seem to happy to be working there.its suppose to be a family resort but yet has a lot of bars and restaurants that kids not not allowed at. Not happy at all with the air Canada rep! Grand Oasis Riviera: Won't Go Back

Did not meet our expectations. Washroom stunk like a sewer. Air conditioning only on and off - temperature adjustment and low, medium, high settings did not work. They served drinks in glass at the bar, resulting in broken glass around the pool deck. We reported this twice, and no one came to sweep it up. Beach chairs old and worn - sunk through and had the support beams in my back. Only good chairs were around the pool. The Pyramid Cancun: Disappointed

The resort grounds were nicely kept. It was very noisy staying right at the pyramid. During the day they were practicing for the show for the evening. In the evening it was very loud when the show was going on and during the night you heard the party people, it echoed everywhere. There was not one quite place to a have a drink. Loud music every where, so this resort is for party people. The pool was too cold to go in, what a shame not to be able to enjoy it during our stay. Hard to get in because you couldn't make reservations. Long waits, the other option was the buffet. Ugh. By the 3rd day of our stay we didn't know where or what to eat. The rooms were clean but the bathrooms were in dire strait of repairs. The bathtubs have been painted several times, you wouldn't want to sit in there. There was always water sitting in the hallway. The staff was not overly friendly. This holiday really not enjoyable for us. Like i said its a party place for younger adult. The focus for this resort was the night life and entertainment

Grand Oasis Cancun: Alright resort

Room extremely unsoundproof. Lots of extra costs. Good dining. Nice pools. Amazing beach. Lots of the excursions were unavailable. The food itself wasn't very good. The view was beautiful. People were nice.

The resort is very big and very nice! Got lost there a lot with how big it is. Everything was really good, including the food, drinks, scenery, beach etc. The only thing I would change is to have friendlier staff (as most were rude) to make the experience more cultural and fun! whenever I go other places down south I always find there to be so much culture and genuinity, however here I felt it very Americanized. Also, we booked an excursion through the resort and were lied to about what we would [... read more] actually get with the excursion. That was a little bit disappointing as my boyfriend and I aren't hard people to please, and would've still gone had we had the true facts about what we would get with the excursion (example: instead of "unlimited buffet" we had one free meal a person. And instead of "unlimited drinks" we had one drink a person. And instead of "free snorkelling" and "free swimming with dolphins" and "free everything else", we had to pay for just about everything. Other than that, the resort is pretty nice and the food was great. And if you don't want to be bothered to buy drugs every few minutes, don't buy items from the guys selling on the beach selling "cigars, bracelets, sunglasses etc".

Grand Oasis Cancun: Room for improvement

Good evening Teelah, We returned from our trip Monday AM and I wanted to let you know of the issues we had while at The Grand Oasis. Firstly, when we checked in they informed us we were staying in one of the outside buildings and gave us our wristbands. At the time we weren't given any information about where to eat, drink or go for entertainment. It wasn't until Friday that we realized that we were not considered at the "Grand Oasis" when we tried to eat at a restaurant (it was called [... read more] the White Spot Gastropub) and were told it would cost each of us $40 each additionally because we had orange wristbands and not black ones . I know when we booked you had mentioned we had access to everything so we tried another restaurant and were also denied. Ultimately we had to go to the buffet. Secondly we were told that wifi was included when we booked, at check-in. When I asked for the code I was told access was free but to use internet it was $15/day per day. This required 4 of my 6 friends to have to purchase internet for the stay. Lastly I was in room 4142, you can see into the bathroom from the bedroom and literally see people on the toilet while on the bed, also in the shower I appreciate all of your assistance and effort in organizing this, unfortunately I think the resort was at fault in the issues we experienced.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Just ok

Some good restaurants, but too long of a wait to eat. No service by the pool or beach witch makes it difficult to enjoy a few drinks. Also it's very loud in the rooms at night. It's a party resort. Our room was nice and clean. I don't recommend this resort for families with kids.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Very disappointed!!

Our first impression of the hotel was that it would be a great location for our 7 day vacation. Check in was an absolute mess, everything to do with the front desk left us feeling frustrated. This was only the beginning of our disappointment with the grand oasis.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Odd all-inclusive resort

My family and I went to Grand oasis Cancún for seven nights from Dec. 28 to Jan.4. The resort is extensive, having two very different side to it. One side, building 3 and 4, is the quiet side. It has a swim up bar but no dry bar so, if you want a drink, you have to either get wet or walk to the nearest dry bar. The other side, buildings 1and2, is a party land. Every day was like Spring Break. Music blasting from around 11am until 3am. If you want to sleep, ask to be in the other side. Over all, we had fun cause we went with three kids over 19 so we met lots of people front all over the world and we were ready to have a good time but, if you want peace and tranquility, this is not your place.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Grand Oasis - not bad, not great

Great entertainment. The food at buffets was not amazing. The restaurants that require a reservation are better and worth waiting for. The showers in the room are ridiculous. Water spraying all over the floor. Maid service is consistent but not amazing.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Great resort!!

The hotel was beautiful, clean and the staff was amazing! There were many pools, including some reserved for adults only in the "GRAND" section. Loved it!! The beach was amazing!! There were a little bit of rocks but other than that, it was great!! Be careful with people at the airport or in the hotel lobby offering "a free gift". The goal is to bring you to another hotel to attend a 2 hour presentation. Then you will be asked to buy a membership...Every day, there was someone trying to sell [... read more] us the free gift, which was pretty annoying. We bought some excursions with Air Canada and they were very pricy for what we got. The catamaran excursion was not so great and very expensive – very disappointing. For all your purchases, you can request to be charged in pesos instead of $US. When you buy an excursion, Air Canada will offer a “free trip” to Playa Del Carmen. Again, there was a catch – we had to spend 45 minutes into a jewelry store and of course, there was a lot of pressure to buy something. We complained and we were able to go to Playa Del Carmen after an hour of waiting at the jewel store. And finally, the hotel is a little far from everything…if you want to stay at the hotel or go to Tulum, it will be great! But if you want to go to Playa Del Carmen or Cancun for example, be ready to spend a lot of time on the road!!
