Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort

This hotel is fantastic, everything about it is great and I am having a hard time to find things to complain about. The maintenance team is the best and keep everything in order at all times. The food was the best as well and we left every meal extremely satisfied.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Most amazing trip ever

This place hit everything on our list ! Most importantly the surroundings are so beautiful . The attention to detail to the the whole resort is impeccable . From the moment you walk into the lobby you will be in awe of its natural beauty and zen like feel.The resort is the perfect size . Not too big and not too small and very easy to get around . Everyone makes you feel special. We went on the bike tour ( offered by the resort ) and snorkelled quite a bit on site. We also walked through Tulum to Yal Kul lagoon where you can also do plenty of snorkelling . We brought our own gear but you can also rent there as well. The food was spectacular and we marvelled at all the selection in the market cafe . My husband loved the Frogs Legs they served at the Japanese restaurant ( first time he had them ). I can’t say anything negative about this place . 5 star all the way !

Secrets Royal Beach: Fantastic resort

Don’t usually do the same resort twice but this one we did. Service is excellent and the beach is fantastic. Night shows were great. Can’t say anything bad. Had a couple of issues with our room when we got there reported them and they fixed them promptly

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Impressive AM resort

Great friendly service. Well maintained and always clean. Beach is OK. Lots of seaweed. Windy all the time. Pool is heated which is great but divided into three sections which is not great. Always fresh towels avail. Lobby and restaurants are farther away from the rest of the resort. Food is ok...better than what we previously experienced in Mexico but not quite there yet. Not a fan of differentiating service levels at the same resort. We paid extra for the Preferred Club which is segregated [... read more] to certain areas. No premium beer. Terrible house wine...lower quality Chilean. Same house wine everywhere around the resort including PC. The in-room minibar was not an upgrade. Ideally I would prefer to see all guests receive the same service level so you can enjoy premium service and booze all around the resort. We stayed in a one bedroom Master Suite which we enjoyed. It lacks a kitchenette. Only has a mini fridge. Should have a full fridge with freezer and ice. Very nice golf course but it’s not fully included. $99 US per person ‘cart fee’ before 1 PM. $70 US pp after 1 PM. Reliable & friendly shuttle service. Food & bev on the course is extra but attentive good service on the course. Preferred Club staff said we can request a packed lunch at an extra cost (why???). We just took sandwiches and beers from the PC room before heading for golf. One major dislike is the dolphin compound at Dreams next door. Why do they still cage dolphins to entertain ignorant people? Very disappointing to see that there. Dreams has a much better layout and pools. Will likely stay closer to Playa Del Carmen next time in Mexico.

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Good resort-did not like the layout with the restaurants so far away that you had to take golf carts.

Nice beach, appreciates that there were no vendors on it. Very windy so the surf was rough which’s apparently Accor to the staff is common for December and January. As a result swimming and snorkelling was not possible. The catamaran excursion was not as enjoyable either as there was no snorkelling. I would not recommend this resort to friends although I would recommend Dreams to people with children just not in December or January.

Secrets Cap Cana: Fantastic Staff!

We stayed at Secrets Cap Cana for 7 nights this January and it was absolute perfection! From the moment we exited the shuttle from the airport we were treated like royalty. Check-in was quick and we were escorted by our Concierge Eduar to our room. Eduar took the time to explain the resort as we walked to our room and full explained all the features of the room when we arrived. The room and resort were spotless and house keeping always did a great job. The beach is just as pictured, wide, palm t [... read more]rees, soft sand, never felt crowded and Nelson always made sure we had a drink in hand. We enjoyed all the restaurants and they offered a diverse selection of cuisine. We did not attend any of the shows as we prefer to eat later, and we had too much fun at the lobby bar being entertained by Ramone, Marco and especially Carlos! Carlos went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. No matter how busy the bar got, he always took the time to suggest new drinks and make them with flair! I’d especially like to single out our Concierge Eduar. I can’t say enough good things about him. He texted us daily with info about the resort and to see if we needed anything. He personally assisted us changing rooms. He set up a surprise birthday message on our door and rose petals on the bed. He arranged for a surprise birthday cake and romantic dinner at the French restaurant for my wife (she was very surprised). Eduar also visited us on the beach multiple times during the week just to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. He also brought us a charcuterie platter to our cabana on the beach, it was such a nice gesture. I’m not sure how many people a single concierge takes care of at one time, but Eduar certainly made us feel like we were his #1 priority. I think the difference at this resort truly is the staff. Everyone we met and talked to seemed to truly care about how we were doing and how they could make it better. We had some lovely conversations with La Diva and Mariposa and you can tell that they are passionate about making sure the guests here are truly enjoying themselves. If your looking for a laid back vacation at a spotless property on a pristine beach with staff that will make you feel like you’re their only customer, then this is the resort for you.

Secrets Cap Cana: Beautiful resort

Had a fabulous week at Secrets Cap Cana. Wilson was our butler and was attentive and very kind. We would definitely recommend him. Great rooms, great pools. Very impressed with the Preferred side of the resort .

Secrets Cap Cana: Did not disappoint!!

Exactly as advertised... Great resort all around. Beach front and water pristine, service was next level, rooms and views were spectacular and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We will be back...

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Love Mexico

Hotel grounds were beautiful, Very well maintained. Beach was lovely. Staff was great, very welcoming and friendly. Food above par. Enjoyed walking around the Dreams resort as well. Not sure the upgrade to preferred was worth the extra cost. The Preferred lounge was nothing special, a sit by the bar area would improve the area. The Rendezvous bar had a nicer ambiance. We did have problems checking out as the staff did not remember/write to our file that we requested an late check out, so hara [... read more]ssing/nagging phone calls to vacate our room. We did not get charged extra, so it worked out in the end. Secrets is a great hotel brand.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: A 5+

this hotel is def. a 5*.....the rooms, buffets, and grounds were excellent.....the grounds keepers were maticulous.....even though you were advised not to swim in the water due to the undertow, the wave-watching was totally unbelievable...I was fortunate enough to see a few sightings of whales from the grounds and the release of baby turtles...the resort was only 35 minutes from the airport... My only qualm was that due to the high tides, the beach itself was hard to walk on..

Secrets Cap Cana: Underwhelmed and Satisfactory

The location is ideal as it is within a close proximity to the airport, gated and safe. The resort is not bad just not awe inspiring. The service is not bad. The overall vibe is it lacks something. There needs to be something authentic that you are in the Caribbean or in the Dominican. There was no themed nights to highlight their culture nor anything. The nightly entertainment was always loud(mostly rock). Again, it would have been nice to see diversity and to tone it down at times. Din [... read more]ners, I would have to say were not memorable just satisfactory. This was my 4th experience at a Secrets resort and will be my last. There needs to be something with this chain that shows customer appreciation within their brand such as upgrades for frequent guests.

Secrets Wild Orchid: Amazing Christmas Vacation

Our stay at Secrets Wild Orchid was amazing. Great amenities, rooms, food, drinks, and most important - staff!!! We stayed in the preferred club, and it was worth the upgrade if you like it a little quiet. Hats off to Matthieu at the Preferred Club for kicking off our days with his positive energy and input on things to do around the resort, didn't have to look at the info board once after talking with him. Rican at the Pool Bar was hands down the best bartender I have ever come across,  [... read more]his upbeat attitude was infectious, not to mention he made a damn good drink, no matter what you thru at him. Oh, and can't forget about the Jerk Chicken cart - his visits mid afternoon and midnight were highly sought after during our stay. Will definitely be heading back to SWO within the next couple years after we check a few more destinations off our list.

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing resort with 1 exception...

Some highlights from our stay at Secrets include the following: Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive; went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Lots of selection and variety of restaurants. Pools were the best feature with plenty of lounge chairs, access to food, bars and restrooms. Overall grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The spa is well worth visiting and the view is absolutely stunning. The only thing I would suggest avoiding is the “Time Share” people who ask you  [... read more]to spend 90 minutes of your time listening to their offer in exchange for credits. This experience resulted in 3 hours of our time wasted.

Secrets Papagayo Resort: Super friendly staff!!

Very easy to get to from the airport, only 25 min or so. Swift checkin and delivery to our room. Excellent shuttle drivers all of them! Minimal wait time for shuttle service. Great layout with restaurants, shops, pool and beach all in one central area. Entertainment every night, just enough to be engaging and nice end to the day. Beach sand and water was perfect! Beach vendors are kind and never pushy, became friends by weeks end. Butler service on the beach was great - our favourite was Christo [... read more]pher! Restaurants were exceptional, really. I’ve never had such perfectly grilled steak! The local beef is delicious. So was all the fish that was offered. Could use a few more drink tables around the beach and pool loungers. And if you book a room above the 100 level, be prepared to take the shuttle service up and down the hill, super steep climbs if you’re on foot.

Secrets Huatulco: Great resort

The rooms were awesome. We used the beach every day and the snorkeling was the best. Some of the warmest water we have encountered. All meals were very good as well as the service. Quiet hotel which is what we like. Need water shoes as the sand gets very hot. The only thing I would recommend is the hotel upgrade the beach chairs as the they are very worn.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: LOVED This resort. Very Relaxing 2nd Secrets been too

LOVED this place. Treated us like gold! the most amazing service and makes no difference if you pay to be in preferred or regular they treat you the same. Amazing. Food was delicious we liked the French Restaurant the best but all were delicious. If you goto French must try in Onion Soup and also their Duck so good!!! Tons of activities through out the day. This is our 2nd Secrets we have been too and all have been top notch. 3 years ago went to the one in Jamaica, last year went to Aruba and stayed different chain they didn't have on there. Horrible. We kept comparing it to Secrets. So this year we went back to the Secrets Chain and it was even better than Jamaica. Which we didn't think was possible. HIghly Recommend this place hands down. There is honestly nothing bad for me to say because it was that good

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Amazing!

We travel a lot and are probably in Cancun once per year. I’m also extremely picky in choosing where I stay. I’m 28 and work running two company’s so often need to get away. We usually stay at the Paradisus, but because of the Reno’s going on we opted to try the Secrets property. I’ve always noticed it from the beach and it looks stunning but now was I blown away when actually staying here. Super clean, great service couldn’t ask for anything more. We opted to upgrade our room upon arrival (in hindsight, you don’t really need to spend on it as we felt the service was the same for both privilege and non privilege. With that being said the room that we were upgraded too was incredible. We will be back for sure, and will try to book the bigger room if available.

Secrets Huatulco: Great scenery!

Had a great vacation! We stayed in building 6 which was close to the pool. Pros: -Small airport with a/c -Short drive from the airport (approx 30 minutes) - Beautiful grounds and great view from the top of the resort - Restaurants good and no reservations needed- we never had to wait (portions are larger than they need to be) - Didn't upgrade to Premium and didn't notice a difference - Lot of beach towels available - Decent snorkeling right off the resort - Staff are very hardwor [... read more]king and friendly - Acceptable WiFi - House wines were decent Cons: - Rooms a little outdated + some wear to the pool - Pool and beach chairs are saved with towels by 6:30am - Castaways restaurant is HOT- just be prepared (food is good) - Check-in very few rooms were ready before 3 then a line forms at 3 for front desk. Note: Not ideal for those with mobility issues as there is a need to use stairs or take an elevator to get around. In most cases we opted for the stairs due to elevator wait times and capacity (only 2/3 main elevators were running during our stay). Ocean is also a good distance and slightly on a hill back to the beach chairs. Overall we enjoyed it as "different" from the Mayan.

Secrets Cap Cana: Amazing resort

My husband and I returned to Secrets Cap Cana for the second time and found the resort just as beautiful as the first time. The resort is decorated elegantly with friendly and warm staff. The beaches were calm and soothing and the food and entertainment was really good. It’s paradise.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Friendly and Comfortable

Great resort. Really good food and service. The pool area is large and kept well. Lots of lounges. Great drink service around the pool as well. The rooms and bathroom are large and the shower is luxurious, as is the jetted tub. Views of the ocean are not direct in most rooms, but the golf course is a beautiful view as well.
