Quelle belle semaine passée au Mélia Cayo Coco!

Le Mélia Cayo Coco est toujours autant réénergisant que 5 ans passées! Le personnel demeure attentionné en tout temps, la musique cubaine est de très grande qualité, les animateurs sont présents mais non accaparants puis la nourriture est de très bonne qualité également. Nous avons adoré notre deuxième séjour au Mélia Cayo Coco et le recommandons à tout adulte qui désire le calme et le repos.

Lots of construction

Pros:excellent entertainment and Jose gave an excellent massage. Cons: beach was closed for construction for 3 days. So no beach during the day and loud contruction right under our window at night. They offered us shuttle buses to other resorts, but it was still very inconvenient.

Bad Experience for us. Not Recommended for Active & Foodie People.

Booked Grand Premium Lagoon View Room for me and my wife. Week of 9 days mourning. Lagoon: Dirty and has gutter/ sewerage smell. Room: Clean but air-conditioner isn't powerful enough. Bidet in washroom is nice touch. On arrival there was a cheap rum and wine in room. Pool / Beach: 1 Clean Pool, but beach had sea weeds everywhere. Buffet: Worst food and service ever experienced. Unflavored, Cold and sometime food was served half cooked. Restaurant: 3 Restaurants, ambiance is good  [... read more]for all but food quality & option as follows. Cuban:Good, Italiano:Worst & International:Okay) Beverages: Local soft drinks were okay, Beer was low quality, if you want different . Havana Rum is good Activities: Archery, Shooting & Pool volleyball were only interesting activities. There was rum tasting event where same local Havana Rum is provided. Music: No music or similar activity as mourning period. Service: Except room cleaning & activities above, rest all services in resort were based on tips. Not Recommendation for many reasons: 1. If you want to do some activity than lying entire day blocking beach chair. 2. Buy your internet. 3. Buy massage / spa service. 4. Buy beer if you want different than local Crystal Beer. 5. If you are vegetarian. 6. Cheese has odd taste, Cooks prepare bad Italian food. 7. CUC is expensive than USD 8. During country 9 day mourning period, resort didn't do any effort make our stay interesting. I didn't go to mourn but fun. Sad place to be, never returning back.

Quiet, Clean and Rejuvenating

This resort is one that gets many repeat customers. If you are looking for quiet, clean and comfortable this is it. The staff are awesome, the food is really good, the beach is very nice. They are always updating this resort albeit slowly. Improvements to all areas from rooms to gym to buffet are appreciated. Don't tell me you can't get good food in Cuba - this proves you can. People return here for the above reasons - if you want golf or shopping or parasailing or even hiking, this may not be  [... read more]the place for you. This resort best serves you if you want to read a book or nap on the beach. We have stayed here and only here for several years now and are always bumping into like-minded people.

Amazing resort

The resort is great. We went there to relax and that's exactly what this resort is for. The room was amazing. King size bed with white fabric hanging over it. Very romantic and very comfortable. Very clean also. The ocean was right out our window. The maid came twice per day. At night when we were at dinner she made our bed again and put flowers all over it. Every night. A Gem

Our 2nd visit to this intimate, quiet, un-crowded, classy resort. Lobby bar nightly live entertainment at the piano bar to relax around soft lighting and cocktails. Excellent service. Experienced professional staff. Al a cart restaurants are 5 out of 5 for service, flavor, hot delicious food in spotless formal settings; Linen tablecloths, candles, Spanish wine that's really quite good. Good but not close to a 5 star

The size of the resort is perfect. The food was great and the beach amazing BUT the rooms are very dated. Our air conditioning failed on more than one occasion and needed repairing..we were not able to have one shower without losing water and when it was on you were lucky to get the soap off.

Great resort !

Grounds are very well maintained, food very good and fresh ,variety , rooms spacious and clean , staff excellent! This is a very quiet resort, a bit older crowd, very relaxing! Beach was excellent !

Loved resort, but took home a gastrointestinal bug

Excellent and friendly service, clean rooms, very good food at the Melia. The lagoon upgrade worth the extra cost. Need to reserve shade on beach by 7am. Beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles. Some snorkelling by the cliff. Pool is not very large, mostly shallow, and chairs of short supply especially on red flag beach days. Excellent entertainment and drinks offered in lobby but watch out for biting insects- they can cause an uncomfortable inflammatory reaction. Sunwing changed our flight and we lost the last day of our vacation-probably would have been sick anyway.

Wonderful vacation!!!

This hotel is just lovely. This was our second time to the Melia Cayo Coco and we enjoyed ourselves just as much the second time. The service is excellent, the food is very high quality with international standards, the staff extra helpful and friendly and the grounds are kept beautifully. The beach is superb with warm and calm Caribbean waters and well maintained sand. The pool area is wonderful too and everything is clean. There is great entertainment at night. If you want a change from the di [... read more]ning room for dining (although it has everything you might want to eat) you can choose to dine at one of the three a la carte restaurants which are just lovely and the food is included in your accommodation. Amazing vacation

although the hotel is on the old side - it was very clean, - beds are hard but we managed - the grounds are lush and beautiful - we love that it is a smaller hotel and can get around easily - if they could cut down some of the greenery it would allow ocean view which is what we would have preferred - don't see any reason to upgrade to lagoon suites - not much to see there - food at the al a cartes was very good - buffet okay but you get tired of the same things - but we didn't starve

Beautifull Beach !!!

My husband & I have been to Cuba 9 times over the past 11 yrs. We have stayed at Melia resorts 8 of those times, this is our 2nd time at the Melia in Cayo Coco.. What we love about this place is everything!!!We love that it is an all adult hotel, the service Is fantastic! This hotel has the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen in Cuba!! The staff is sooo friendly, & they cannot do enough to please you. The quality of food is great! Forth Visit and we will go back next year

This was our fourth visit to Melia and were not dissapointed. Beach is the best ever! and staff are warm and friendly. The food is good by Cuban standards.We stayed in the Lagoon rooms once again and enjoyed.

Perfect five day getaway

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at this resort! Very quite and relaxing...just what we were looking for. Perfect beach, windy in the afternoon so went to the next beach......Playa Largo.... ten minute walk .....breathtaking!!! Enjoy!!

Wonderful vacation!

service excellent, rooms clean and smart, beach delightful, staff helpful and caring, food something for everyone, pool area clean and tidy, adults only with no noisy kids entertainment wonderful and YES I will return !

Terrific time!

Had a wonderful time at the Melia Cayo Coco! The staff are excellent and very helpful. No request is too small for them. The food is terrific at the buffet and at the 3 restaurants . What really impressed me was how clean the resort and beach was. Have been there 3 times and hope to go back there again.

Well run resort

Rooms were clean if a little dated. Staff was very helpful and friendly. After one particularly heavy rainfall there was water dripping from a bathroom light fixture and toilet kept running after flushing. Food was ok but not greatest variety and meat was poor quality; however, ok for Cuban standards. After 9 am you can forget about finding an available lounge around the pool as all are being reserved for the day with guest towels or personal items contrary t posted rules. Entertainment and acti [... read more]vities are first class as is the staff. Fitness room is good and underused. Overall experience was good but would not stay more than 7 days.

More than we ever expected!

When first arriving at this resort you are greeted by some of the friendliest people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. We got our bags out of the bus and proceeded to the lobby. We checked in with Angel who was quick and thorough. Provided us with everything we needed and even a welcome cocktail. Our bags were loaded into a golf cart and were escorted to our lagoon room with a tour of the resort on the way. When entering our room it was wide open, clean and beautiful. We had an amazin [... read more]g view of the landscape. In the morning we were engaged with the rising sun right from our balcony. We sat with our fresh coffee and chatted as the sun came over the horizon. Being our one year wedding anniversary we needed to make it special. With this being an adults only resort it was quiet with just enough of night life to keep you having fun all day and night. From the cabaret to nightly music in the lobby we were never let down. The three a la carte restaurants were elegant and the food was fantastic. There is a beach restaurant during the day that has cooked to serve meats and vegetables while you wait and a buffet to match. The beach went on for miles as we walked it each and every day. There was never a dull moment for our 7 day stay. We plan on returning. Thanks Melia and staff for making our anniversary shine. If I could add pictures of our trip I surely would.

Fantastic service - beautiful stay!

Buffet dining room had huge variety. Always fresh, always delicious. Wait staff never missed a beat. Your glass or coffee cup was never left empty and dishes were cleared promptly. Several restaurants needing reservations slipped our mind so we never got to book early enough but heard rave reviews for the "International Restaurant". Next time!
