If you are looking for table service, shower curtain, safe locks, blow dryers, short walk to the beach, comfortable beds, or top shelf liquor then this is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. Very disappointing to vacation in Cuba for the first time and had to spend it here. When I return to Cuba in the future I will be MILES from this place.

Awful Awful Awful

I've been to Cuba a few times and have stayed in a lower star property and have had a better vacation Firstly no hot water from Saturday to Wednesday...not acceptable. Line up at least fifteen minutes to get your drinks or coffee because only one person serving. No toilet paper in any of the public washrooms or soap. Buffet...food was always cold no matter what time of day was. Had a gas leak which made a lot of people sick and it was just ignored. Average

This is our second time staying here and our expectations were pretty much the same both times. The second trip appeared to be not as good as the first. Firstly, two buildings in the hotel had no hot water. Upon talking to others this is an ongoing thing. Our trip from last year we had a great room poolside and were very pleased. This time our room was in the back corner, no hot water and a very cracked patio door. We ended up moving the next day to a new room that had hot water, was on second f [... read more]loor and was much improved. On a postive note, the maids and staff at the buffet are great and very friendly! The bartenders at most are very miserable and seem annoyed at most time with an exception to a few. All and all Im not sure we will vist here again unless the hotel does some upgrades.

Not satisfied building falling apart

Good Value for the money

The food is good. There is always a large selection. But there are many restaurants in the area that you can walk to that offer fabulous food at great prices. We ate dinner out 4 nights. There are a variety of pools, some in quiet areas. The grounds are well maintained. The showers do not always have hot water. But the rooms are cleaned regularly by friendly staff. Bellevue, the Belle

The Bellevue Palma still lives up to its name. The entertainment at night is fabulous. What we would pay in a Canadian theatre to see such performances! And to think, most are self taught! The staff stand out at this resort. This has been our third return and we received warm and embracing smiles and hugs; from the security to the buffet, to the gift shop. The location of the hotel is perfect for an evening stroll into downtown Varadero and to catch the double decker bus for a 5 pesetas all day  [... read more]ride taking in the whole beautiful area. I loved the different pool areas. If I wanted lively Cuban music and pool volley ball I would lounge by the swim up bar pool. Then for a tranquil and relaxing afternoon I enjoyed my book at the other pool. Such lovely variety. And of course the endless flow of delicious drinks at the many bars. Being home for afew days, we already miss our Bellevue Palma!

3rd time a disappointment

First of all I would like to say the arrangements through Trip Central and WestJet were perfect. No glitches anywhere. As for Palma Real. This was our third time at the hotel and the resort had gone downhill. The property had been left unpainted, and large pieces of the walls and outside areas were broken and not repaired. Only 3/4 of the outside path lighting worked, One of the pools water level was down about 2 feet and it didn't appear as it was being repaired or cleaned. Elevators in our bui [... read more]lding never worked. Our housekeepers were excellent and we had a clean room with lots of towels and toilet tissue. ( a little tip each day goes a long way ) Service at the restaurants and bars was good with the exception of the Lobby bar and pool bar as they seemed to wander away and talk with each other rather than serve. To be fair both bars were understaffed. Front desk: rude - arrogant - unambitious. Still: Two pools were great, location very good, beach very good.

Lovely beaches & walking distance to Downtown

This hotel has close access to awesome beaches with daily entertainment. Located next to downtown with lots of little tourist shops, parks and restaurants. The rooms are clean and spacious, nice spacious bathrooms. Good selection of foods, including salads. Service a little slow though.

Getting tired looking

This is our 2nd trip to the Palma Real. The food was better this year we thought. The rooms are looking a little tired. The service from the staff was very good. The hotel is very well situated as close to beach and downtown. I'm not sure I would return here again...I may but it would be dependant on the price.

Average resort

We enjoyed this resort, we only paid 650$ per person so we didn't expect 5 star food, rooms or treatment. Most staff were friendly and always willing to help. We plan on returning if the price is right.

Great Resort for the Price

This is my 2nd time there and we stayed (3 of us) the last week of October /2014 and were there in March. Great location and great staff... If they remember you from the last time which they did you will be treated great. (we tipped alot with things which mean more to them instead of money -typical toiletries, shoes etc. panty hose etc) Should out to Yana, Janet, Karina, Noel.. love you guys... you make the trip with your constant hospitality. Returning customers should be thought of when requesting the same rooms from their first trip on the first week of March. Had a few issues and attitude from a few new ladies in the reception area and got a total run around..... Beach-is great as always, beach bar needs more staff and a variety of snack for those who don't wish to treck back to the main hotel to eat.. one day they'd have sandwiches, on day if you're lucky burgers.. NEVER once were their Fries??? Entertainment staff-Alvin is a sweet guy.. a bit of a snack though so watch out.. he knows how to manipulate and get things from you etc...

A Very Pleasant Stay

My friends had a good time at the Bellevue Palma Real during a 7-night, 8-day stay in late September. Don't let the words 'hurricane season' deter you - it only rained briefly for 3 of those days. There were many things to like - plentiful food, smiling service, lively entertainment, the proximity to the beach (a 5-minute walk away) and nearby party venues like Calle 62 and the Havana Club. Excellent

for what I paid for it's amazing! The staff are super friendly.The food has improved compared to previous visit.location is excellent, at the center of the town. The rooms and its bed,linen,curtains,towels need improvements.

Disgusting Hotel

No warm/hot water during night time, reported 3 times but nothing was done. Food sucks!!!! it is repeatedly serve in a day, then you would see it again the next day. Flies in the dinning area is just massisve !!! all over the place and to think the room is air conditioned.

Amazing resort

Great Resort. It was close to downtown so I will always go and dance. I could also go to the Havana club for free. They also had nice choreography shows at night. The swimming pools were also great and clean.

Fantastic Resort

We had an amazing time at the Palma Real. Great location. Food was good. You could walk down the main strip and visit restaurants if you wanted. The beach was excellent, clean and crystal clear water. The grounds were very well kept. Very clean rooms. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Could not do enough for us. We have been there three times and are going back in February 2015 and April 2015.

Great Vacation - Wonderful Time!

When one is going to Bellevue, one should be realistic. You are not getting a room at the Taj Mahal. The buildings are a little dated and the beach is a two minute walk from the hotel, but the location is superb. You are literally minutes from "downtown Varadero." The staff are superb, and while the food is mediocre at best, there are great places to eat off the hotel. *Hint, try the park near the beatles bar - great Italian place there!" There is a A La Carte Pizza place on the resort that offers decent food. Don't make the vacation about food. This place has a couple swimming pools, a nice section of beach, great staff and running utilities. The rooms were cleaned daily and the lobby bar was 24 hours. The rest is what you make of it. We had a blast and have considered going back!

Worst front desk service ever

Will never go to this resort again. 9 out of 10 people were unpleasant and RUDE, we were ignored when help was needed, our air conditioner never worked, we were hot in the room, ants all over the floor n sink, no locker in room, next day were promised to get one. It never happened. When asked at front desk they blamed the other person. No one took responsibility. I don't go to cuba for the food but, even the food was terrible. The grounds are not kept. I was actually embarrassed to take pictures [... read more]. I didn't like the surrounding. This resort is not worth the cheap price. I rather pay the extra money for a better experience.

Needs TLC

We have gone to this resort twice in the past over 5 years ago and loved it. Our third time in March 2014, not so good! This resort is very run down. They have not kept it up over the years. The pool decks were pebbly, cracked, not good for walking in bare feet. The food was awful, even the a la cartes. I can't stress enough how terrible it was, so dissappointed. Going back in Oct again........

been to this hotel about 8 times,for a 3 & half star it is a nice resort close to town.The staff in this resort are fantastic,the food is your typical cuba food but nice resturants within walking distance,beach a short walk across the road no big deal & bar at the beach serving burgers & chicken,Looking forward to going back in Oct to celebrate our friends 50th birthday....................
