No cold water in our shower, toilet ran the entire time & a/c never cut out so either off &muggy or blasting. Only 1 bottle of water all week and refil water was swampy-I got sick. Not enough sun chairs!

Average Resort

We have vacation in Guardalavaca Brisa’s Villa during the third week of January 2015. Our Villa on the second floor was very specious and the chamber-maid has done a good job cleaning and was very friendly. Main cafeteria and specialty restaurants have provided good variety of quality food for the whole family and the staff was also very friendly. I did encounter a problem with Pizza counter in 24 Hour Bar. When we came back from an excursion at 5:20 pm, I asked for a pizza since they were ope [... read more]n till 6 pm. At that time was told that it was too late because they had many orders and then noticed that someone else has asked for a pizza at 5:30 pm in Spanish and was able to get it. I have reported this incident to the front desk but have not heard back. On the last day after checkout at 4 pm I asked for pizza again and while waiting for my order I have noticed that majority of the made pizzas and many hamburgers was being placed in bags and taken home by people on the day pass. That’s probably why I was unable to get the pizza at 5:20 pm. Another problem was with the beach chairs. For the whole week we were unable to get a chair on the beach. My husband on his morning walk has noticed that people been putting towels at 7 am on the chairs or have the beach cleaning staff reserve it for them by placing books or other articles. And in many cases these chairs were not used for most of the day. A little better planning should have been done by the resort so everyone could have a place to sit on the beach while they were on the beach.

Simply amazing

love this resort, I have been their 4 times and the friend I travelled with has been there 9 times! Need I say more? The beach area is amazing, for those who prefer the pool also amazing, the food is fantastic.

Beaches are amazing, Hotel is nice but food isn't

The beaches here are amazing and the hotel is a bit worn but overall clean and nice. The food, however is pretty poor, even by Cuban standards. Some of the recycled meals were definately past their prime and restaurants weren't a huge up-grade. But the people are lovely, the hotel is clean and nice and the beaches are truely one of the nicest. Just bring lots of snacks or eat out at the restaurant on the hill!

Great Resort

The experience as a whole was great. Nice grounds, good people on staff. Had some issues with the room but they were made good by the staff. The resort was able to more than handle and co ordinate my sister's wedding with 80 guests from the ceremony to the reception without a hitch.

Not bad

Decent resort. Food is what you would expect for Cuba . Variety of restaurants is nice. Beach beautiful . A lot of Cubans vacationing there as well. Found that is was a big family type resort. Not much younger adults (20- 30) therefor not very much of a party resort. Pool bars were pretty quiet and lots of kids. Service was good. Villa rooms nice. However we did have a leak in our roof from the AC but when we notified the front they had someone come the same day to fix it so it wasn't a big deal [... read more].

Very comfortable, friendly, clean resort

We enjoyed the many different restaurants and food options that were available. The staff was always very pleasant and freindly. Location was lovely on the beach, the villas were perfect for our needs

Great time!

Friendly staff, lots of good bars. Johnny at the swim up bar a particular favorite of ours. Can swim out to excellent snorkeling reefs within 100 yards of shore. Have stayed in both hotel rooms and villas but prefer the villas. Just a personal preference because its quieter at night. Overall a great value m

Love this resort!

Just returned from our 3rd vacation over the past 8 years with Brisas Guardalavaca. We found the special entertainment and festivities for New Years Eve and New Years Day much improved from 2 years ago. We highly recommend the Villas and thoroughly enjoy the privacy of the villa section of the resort, while still enjoying the liveliness of the main hotel area, when we so choose. If booking the villas, make sure you check on your eticket that it states 'villa' and not 'standard', especially if yo [... read more]u request an 'oceanview' villa. Despite any gliches, the resort does its best to accommodate. Always enjoy the staff!

Love this resort!

Stayed in the villa section, room was amazing! Clean, comfortable and ocean view from the balcony. Maid service was incredible. She left us water without being asked. The food was great, lots of variety. The a la carte restaurants were terrific as well!

Awsome Staff

We were here 14 years ago, could not believe the staff members that still remembered us, well they said they did... Great bunch of staff members friendly, and most helpful and proud to serve!!! Would return again no problem.

Average resort

The resort was very clean and the grounds and gardens were meticulously cared for. The rooms are dated but clean. The staff were pleasant and accomodating. The beach and pools were good. Overall this was a average resort but the price reflected the property. If you are looking for an inexpensive vacation this property will give you a comfortable vacation but it is by no means luxury.

Tropical,Relaxing,Wallet Friendly Value

Went to this resort with hubby first week of November,beautiful,clean,resort.First time in Holguin,love this part of Cuba friendlier than Veradaro and Cayo Coco.No pressure to tip,2 great pools,variety of entertainment,rustic area. Beach water not the cleanest and food not as good as the last 2 Cuba resorts we've stayed at.

Excellent resort

The grounds are well kept , the staff is way beyond exceptional , the food is very good never went hungry always found something good to eat . From the grounds keepers , entertainment staff, waiters /waitresses bar staff always friendly and willing to make your vacation enjoyable

Back again to the Brisas

Grounds well kept, Villa rooms spacious and very clean. Food is good, staff is excellent, friendly and happy to help. Beach is good, no vendors, great market within walking distance. Good local tours via horse and buggy, plus longer tours via bus

Beautiful

This was our 45th time at Brisas and it was amazing. That is why we keep going back time and time again. Staff are the best ever. I could go on and on about this place. It is simply paradise. Can't wait to go back again.

Wonderful Trip

Brisas was by and far the nicest resort on the strip. The people were amazing. Very friendly and super accommodating. The rooms are clean and well kept, spacious and cool. The hotel was busy with entertainment around every corner. The beach was beautiful, water is clean and warm. The food was ok, not a lot of spices but we were never hungry either. I will definitely be going back to Brisas.

Paradise in Cuba and Family Resort Lovely

We love it here we stayed 5 times.Also we up grade to the villas right on the beach and by the lacart rest,The weather was great and the beach fabulous.We will be going back soon,The staff was excellent and food was ok for Cuba since we stayed other parts of Cuba and did not like, the only down fall no mojoit at all and potatoe and tomatoe was very hard to get,The resort has been upgraded a little because they are trying for a 5 star,They have welcome lunch for repeat guests and a tree planting  [... read more]ceremony this year it was excellent the food was the best all week and the drinks were fab fresh in coconuts and pineapples,Also all repeat guests get a bottle of rum when they leave,The shows are the best that I have seen in Cuba since I have traveled to other parts and the shows were no good if they had any,I would recommend this resort for a 1 time visit and it is a family resort,

Another Great Stay!

This was our 2nd visit at the Brisas Guardalava this year. Everything was just as great as the first stay. Food, cleanliness, staff and service always deliver and met our expectations. Hope to return soon!
