Ok value for money but not great for families

Good value for money. Not great amenities for families. No activities for teenagers especially in the evening. Room ok. Service ok but need to tip heavily. Beach right next to sewer canal that empties into the ocean so don't recommend swimming at the beach.

The location is great, the food is Ok, the mexican and brazilian restorants are really good. The temperature was perfect and we enjoy a city tour by taxi( one for us only, not a tour for the same price or less we had a private guide who was speaking spanish only, but my whife is fluent in few languages, so it was not a problem for us) The prices in town are quite better than on the facility, except for the local sale on location twice during our stay, prices which are really negiciables. The fac [... read more]ilities are well maintained and there is a lot of friendly staff. The place was quite, since a little off season, just before christmas. The room was large but the humidity level on ground floor is too high. It was too cood to put the AC on, so we just put the fan, even there, it was cold, so we asked for extra blankets. The lights in the bathroom was too low, but functiinal. The pool is large but the temperature was high under the sun, without sun shade. The beach was clean and more comfortable and more quiet than the pool.

Fantabulous

The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Always a good variety of food to choose from. The rooms were always kept clean by the staff. The entertainment staff were very friendly and upbeat, always trying to include all the tourists with fun an games. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation ✔✔✔✔✔

Its a Grand!

I stayed at Be Live Grand Marien in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic from November 26 to December 3. It was an awesome experience. The food was really good, the entertainment crew is amazing especially Blondie. The night shows are a ton of fun, and the disco will always create laughs, new friends, and memories. You may remember me as the guy who kept doing the worm on the dance floor, and the karoke duet Whenever, Wherever by Shakira. Nice relaxing vacation at Be Live Grand Marien

The resort was exceptionally clean and well kept. The staff was always attentive and friendly, from the front desk, right down to the gentlemen raking leaves. Anything we needed help with was dealt with right away. A little note in the room regarding HOW to turn the shower on would have been helpful! (pull down on the little spout thing where the water comes out of the tap!) The resort is a bit "tired" and could use an update, but we were very happy with everything. There was lots of choices of [... read more] food at the buffet and everything was yummy and well labelled. The beds are hard - fyi. We were in building 4, close to the beach and everything else. Buildings 3 and 4 are the primo location buildings. The bus ride to and from the airport was well organized and only about 20 minutes. The only annoying thing was the Vacation Sales guys outside the buffet restaurant who bugged us every time we came and went. A firm NO though, and they stopped (after the 3rd day) There were also a few excursion sales people on the beach, but they stopped bugging us after a firm "no thank you as well".

Be Live Collection Marien

I enjoyed staying there, these people are friendly except the sellers are annoyed that I didn't like. We need time to look at the tables but these sellers are pushy. The service did well with us, when we arrived at the hotel and they put us to third floor but the service guy checked and said no no you both should stay the first floor, that what I like. Love swimming there. Nice bars too. Food are some good some ok. Good experiences.

My Experience with Be Live Hotel

I enjoyed staying at Be Live Hotel. The staff were ver friendly, and the food was very good. I have a disability and I was treated very well by all the staff. It is a very nice place to look around. I went with my friend and she also enjoyed the trip

Amazing risort.

The best service and the most cordial people are in this hotel. The grounds are beautiful . The food is varied and very delicious. The most important safety place. My family wants to return next year.

Amazing!!

Food was amazing!! Beach was so pretty!! Pool was perfect!! recomand the Brazilian, Mexican and gourmet restaurants!! Loved it over all!! The people are just amazing as well, so kind and giving and they don't do it for tips

Not to bad place

Tthe food was good and plenty of it, staff was friendly and services was good. 20 min from airport ride was ok. Took taxi to sasuva loved it next time will be there just coz of the beach, it was very clean and clear. Don't count on the beach at the resort.

It was our first time and we were very impressed

excellent our room was clean and well prepared at all times.the cleaning crew were amazing.our washroom had some problems but was taken care of immediately the food was great but being vegetarians gave us a limited choice which is understandable .

Excellent value

The food was excellent, the service in our room excellent, bar and restaurant service okay. The grounds, pool and overall resort a little aged but okay. Transfers, checkin-out on par with most resorts.

Nice and friendly resort

We just came back from this resort. It is a good place. But the weather in this week not too good. Only 3 days sunny. 4 days raining...but still good So the mosquitoes or bug are very active.There are no a/c in the buffet restaurant. The floor there is wooden and have a big gap. They hidding there. So when we have good dinner. They have a good dinner ,too. The food is good but a little bit salty. The maxcian restaurant is the best. We stay in Block 4 3/F . Gorgeous

The hotel itself it gorgeous , we had an amazing week ! The only thing really was pretty much 85% of the guests spoke Spanish so it wasn't really like you could mingle too much. Food was good and the service was friendly but you do feel pressure to tip while there.

No more than a 3 star

Everything was alright until the locals were let on the resort for the weekend, it made it much more difficult to get a drink, get food, go in the pool; one girl even threw her bag and towel on the chair I was laying on. A quiet and very small resort, book your excursions for the weekend to avoid the absolute craziness of the weekend.

Nice resort, but definitely not a 5 star

Nice resort, could use alot of updating, especially in the standard rooms. No swim-up bar. Proximity to beach, pool, buffet, a la cartes and the pool bar are all very close. Staff were very efficient and friendly, no complaints. Food was good and lots to choose from. Location from airport is excellent, only a 20 min drive.

No peace

Good food, good pool but you could not relax with the contast harrassing from the staff day and night it did not stop. Buy this buy that come with me i need to show u something. Will not be making a return trip to that resort

Relaxing way to end an undergrad :)

A couple of my friends and I came down for graduation. The resort is so clean and everything is fairly close to one another which makes for ease in getting places. There is one pool which is always kept clean. There was a variety of people there including families, people our age (early 20s) and older couples. Overall, amazing trip. Would definitely return again.

Great trip

Hotel was great and food excellent, pool was very warm! Needed more bartenders during day, loved the beach, everything was very close n the room was amazing very large, more people needed to pick up garbage from pool area, grounds were beautiful

Scary experience!

My husband and I arrived late Tuesday night and were anxious to start our vacation. The resort looked great and we couldn't wait to see it it daylight. Upon entering our room you could smell mildew or mould coming from inside. We ignored the smell until we went to bed. That's when it got worst. We noticed that the smell was coming from the pillows in the room. They smelled absolutely disgusting and I did not want to put my face or nose anywhere close to it. Our room was on the ground level in Bl [... read more]ock 8. Besides the smelly and damp room everything else seemed to be fine at this point. Friday night we were woken from our sleep by loud banging sounds which we still are unsure of. Sunday night was probably the scariest night I have ever experienced in my life. We were asleep and around 2 am we could hear loud banging noises as if someone were moving furniture or dragging something across the floor. Then we could hear people shouting and arguing in Spanish, close to our room. Security had showed up and spoke with the people causing the noise. They still didn't stop making noise h til around 430am. My husband and I were terrified in our room, afraid that someone would charge into our room from the glass door balcony. Turns out that this hotel allow locals to come on the resort during the weekend. I know that everyone is entitled to do as they please but these locals were so disrespectful and loud. I did not see any reviews or incidations that the resort allowed this and I would warn people of this in the future. I will never return to this resort and I will do even more research before I do another one of these vacations again.
