Amazing resort

Staff are very friendly very clean food was excellent beautiful grounds and beach was beautiful service was exceptional I can’t wait to go back!! Pools were very clean and well maintained entertainment was excellent rooms were clean and maids did a excellent job

Beautiful Beach Lovely Resort

The hotel is well laid out, bottle of rum in our room, two beers and some cola, rooms were ok...a little dated, should have updated to Premium, heard there the rooms are amazing. Food was ok in the buffets, restaurants were good, I definitely would go back.. only complaint is the bathroom towels smelled like lard, very unpleasant to use.

Mixed Review

Great staff, clean resort (but dirty loungers!) no air conditioned buffet restaurants and terrible food. We have been to 3 star Cuban resorts with better food. The biggest issues were that everything is fried including hamburgers and 'steaks' and the food safety is non-existent. The lovely lady cooking my son's steak was organizing the raw chicken with the same tongs she then used to hand me the steak. Maybe I'm paranoid but I find that disgusting. The beach was nice and the ocean amazing to swim in but if you enjoy long walks on the beach this isn't the place for you as you can only walk about 10 minutes or so. And be prepared to head down to the beach in darkness if you want a front row palapa! I would head down at 6:15 and there were already people walking back. Had a nice enough time but wouldn't go back to this resort because of the food or Holguin in general because of the airport - it was a unorganized mess. Its too bad as the property itself is lovely and the staff were great (with the exception of some of the front desk staff, speak to Ronaldo if you need anything, he was great) Will probably stick with Varadero or Cayo Coco in future.

Was a great resort .

The resort was very clean pool was awsome food you couldnt ask for any better rooms very clean and cleaned everyday day with beer pop and water restored everyday if need .Service was excellent there are some poeple that still have no respect but never bother me.Go enjoy you will love this resort .

Excellent resort

would definitely return there. food was awesome. pool and beach were . no shortage of things to see and do. or just to relax. whether with friends or by yourselves. villas were exceptional and very well kept.

Beautiful Beach

Beach is beautiful, hotel rooms were mediocre had a musty and damp smell. The sheets felt always damp. Certainly shouldn’t be rated a 4 star hotel. Food at buffet was awful. Some alla Cartes were ok but nothing special unless you paid for Alla Carte meals. The resort lacked atmosphere by pool and beach during the day.

Good for family

Beach is good for kids. However, you should be aware that there are problems with shade on the beach. Be ready to wake-up early to get chaise-lounge. We did not use the pool so cannot say it if it better there. There is good snorkeling nearby. Booklet with some hotel info they give to you contains not accurate information. When we extended our room for late check-out, they charged us more than said in the booklet. Evening shows are average, some of them are worth to attend. Do not mis [... read more]s water ballet, it is amazing. Also, some generic info not related to hotel. I found that giving tips by foreign currency coins makes more problems for domestic people because coins cannot be exchanged in bank. So USD bills are preferable if you do not have CUC (unless you want to give 5CAD bill :)

jai aime les restaurants a la carte mais jai ete tres malade a cause de la bouffe du buffet ma fille a vomit 2 fois beaucoup de puce de sable manque de palapa tres belle piscine, belle mer, belle plage, beau site propre partout chambre un peu petite

I like it

The main problem of the resort for me is lack of shade on the beach. Guests have to wake up early to find place is shade or pay hotel workers to do it. The beach itself is nice - calm sea with sand bottom and there is a good place for snorkeling nearby. This time we have also faced smelly water in beach shower once. Premium Playa Pesquero is the way to go

We spent the first 2 days of our trip at Playa Pesquero (monte Cristo pkg), the hotel was nice but was really in need of some updating. We found that it was really far to get anywhere on the resort. The food in our opinion was almost unedible, we went to a a la carte restaurant but left without eating because we did not find anything on the menu that looked appetizing.The room was clean but our fridge and phone did not work. We decided to take on the extra expense and transfer to the Premium sid [... read more]e. Our experience there was superb. Our room, the food, the grounds and the staff were fantastic. I will fill out the remainder of the questionnaire for the Premium Playa Pesquero.

Amazing as Usual !!!

This was our 4th time here and can't imagine being anywhere else for the March break. The food was every bit as good as some of the top restaurants in our area, rooms were clean, the grounds were stunning and very well kept by the grounds keepers and most of all the hospitality was over the top... friendly, courteous and very accommodating. Can hardly wait to return next year!

Beauty beyond words

This hotel was amazing all round, the grounds, the lobby, the pools everything was more than I expected. The lobby was very well kept. Even while people where in there cleaning staff was cleaning, they cleaned 24 hours a day. The set up is beyond words. The grounds are very well kept from early morning till dark grounds men were picking up fallen branches, picking up everything that was not supposed to be there. The pools they are to die for. The rooms are huge contains a King size bed, 2 arm chairs, tv, mini fridge and coffee maker. Cleaned everyday by the cleaning staff. They take great pride in the job they do. They like their job and it shows. The food everything and anything is available. I was there a week and not once did I see a frown. Honestly the place is beyond words. .

Resort review

Loved the pool area and beauitful beach. Every night they had awesome concerts going on in the lobby and events during the day. I found a few staff that were really friendly, the rest seamed quite cranky all the time. There were several times we approached the reception desk with 3-4 staff behind the counter and no customers other than us and no one would acknowledge us there for 5+ mins. Same in smoke shop, the clerk was to busy texting on her phone to even notice we were there. The food was h [... read more]ard to eat other than the breakfast (freshly made omelette), our room was damp and had a sewer smell (understandable as they were hit hard by the hurricane recently). I am usally not one to complain but I was quite disappointed and therefore would never go back.

Our favorite place

Some of the rooms could use some freshening up but not an issue just optically pleasing. Our guests with us did not have a coffee pot, they said nothing but I think they should have. The room we were in could have used another bedside table and a lamp. We have been there fourteen times but not get an invite to the return guests party. I realize our agent may have been at blame but with today's computers how does that not get picked up. We are still recommending this hotel to all our friends and family.

Wonderful holiday.

We have been to this hotel a few times, but not since 2013. Very pleased to see continuing improvements. Our room may have benefited with an update, but room was always clean, lots of hot water and towels, and wonderful housekeeper. Buffet had variety, great vegetables and fresh cooked fish, shrimp, beef pork and chicken. If you could not find something that appeals to you, you are not looking. Very Good Resort

Very good service. Pool area was beautiful and clean. Beach was beautiful. Food was good. Lots of different choices for food. There was lots to do around the beach and the nightly entertainment was very good. Beautiful lobby area. Rooms were very clean but could use some updates. Would certainly recommend it.

Nice resort and location!

Everything in this resort was amazing and we had a beautiful vacation! The only thing that we didn't like was the terrible noise we had one night from the next resort. Otherwise it was perfect, relaxing and a happy place.

Beautiful Playa Pesquero

Third visit to this resort and just keeps getting better. Food selection and quality, decor, friendly staff. Was very impressed! Amazing pool and beach - always loungers available. Will definitely return!

Amazing resort

The resort was beautiful in every way,was very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms & especially the washrooms! Staff was always friendly & ready to help out with anything we needed.We had a relaxing time,which was our goal from the start.If I had any complaints it would be that there should be more areas of shade on the beach,plus the entertainment was little to be desired.I would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for the experience of a larger resort.

Great family vacation

My husband and I just got back from this resort where we stayed with our 2 and 4yr old girls. The hotel was very clean, the grounds were well kept and the staff were all friendly. The food was good for Cuba but the best meals were our meal at the la carte’s “romantico” restaurant and the Cuban. My husband had the lobster and shimp which was amazing and we aren’t usually seafood ppl. The ladies at the kids club were great but the kids club could afford some updates. The hotel is very larg [... read more]e and shuttles were offered regularly but with a stroller we chose to walk. I personally was missing more music playing around the pool and on the beach and didn’t find the beds comfortable but overall it was an enjoyable week.
