Fun relaxing vacation

Just returned from Bahia Principe Punta Cana. Amazing flight (air transat). Clean beautifully maintained resort. Food was very good with nice variety at the buffet. We enjoyed the entertainment . Pools were nice and quiet, not crowded and we spent most of our time there as the beach was a little too crowded for our liking. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. Thank you trip central for finding this great getaway😊

Very Good Vacation

Lovely resort...excellent access to all areas...transportation is regular and easy to access...restaurants were good...buffet was good...room was exactly as in picture...had to prompt the room service a bit to keep things stocked...beach was very clean with lots of chairs and cabanas...water was awesome

Amazing resort-!

Beautiful, clean, soft sand beach. Clean, friendly hotel. Yummy food. Outstanding entertainment. Michael Jackson show was unbelievable. The magician was very tricky and the circus show was thrilling. Those guys are strong! Would definitely go back!

Good times...

Hotel was massive (but I knew this as I have been before). Very clean and well kept. Rooms are spacious and again, clean. Food was fine- not gourmet but that's not what I went for. Always something good to eat and the pasta bar is always there in case you can't. Beach is beautiful but very busy. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at this resort.

Beautiful resort

Grand Bahia is a beautiful resort. The ground are immaculate, the rooms are very nice and the food was excellent. The staff were a great help when we needed the doctor and also with calling back to Canada to our insurance company. The beach was our favourite. Yes there was seaweed but they were raking constantly. Only issue we had was when we went down early to get 2 chairs we marked them with 2 old tee shirts. When we went back a hour later they were gone.

We found the resort too large

Our trip was really quite nice and enjoyable. It was great to get away. We got to the resort fairly late and it was already dark We had no idea where we were going but were taken directly to our room way at the end of the resort. Trying to get around, at first was a nightmare especially in the dark when you can't get your bearings. We did get lost and realized that we had (or should) take the trolley to get back to the main building to get something to eat. Our first room as I said [... read more], was at the far end of the resort in section 10 building 2, room 202 and it was really musty smelling. Once in the lobby, and after some dinner we immediately asked at the front desk if we could move closer to the pool area. This was going to be arranged the next day. We did have an enjoyable evening in the outside night club area. The music was great. Each night was a theme night. The next day we did go to the reception desk and without any problems we were moved immediately. First they asked us to check the room which was in building 15, room 306 and it was lovely. There was no musty smell and we were right at the pools. I know you did ask about that, and the garden area would have been nice as well, but we were so far from everything. The change was made uneventfully, and the rest of the week was good. The weather cooperated, except for one day (Sunday morning) when we had about 3 hours of a down pour. The beach area was less than desirable. The sea weed was really bad which was probably caused by the hurricane and even though we could walk on the beach near the water, the clean up was an endless task every day. We went to the beach a couple of times that week but we mostly sat around the pool enjoying the swim up bar a couple of times and the sun. We did book 4 a la carte dinners - Japanese which was very uneventful. There was a huge language barrier. They asked what we wanted to drink, but never came around with our order. But the white and red wine was plentiful. Our next a la carte was Italian, which wasn't much better. The Mediterranean restaurant was even worse. I asked for cod and the food came to me cold not once but twice. They didn't seem to understand what I meant by "the food being cold". That night we had to go back to the Buffet Orquidea for dinner. Also, when booking we were told we could have baked sea food - shrimp, crab, lobster, but no mention of an additional cost of $30.00/person for this. Our next dinner was the Grill where we had a great steak dinner and that was really good - grilled to perfection. We were not aware when booking this resort that there were 7 resorts in one totalling some 3,000 suites. We wanted to check out the other exclusive areas but we were not allowed to walk on the premises with our green wrist band. The ONLY way we could see any of the exclusive areas is if you attended a presentation in the PRIVILEDGED CLUB section. We did this a couple of years ago at a Bahia Principe and wasted a whole day. Even though the Bahia Principe resorts are nice, we do like to try other locations and resorts. On the whole, the resort was nice, very clean, and the rooms were cleaned daily. One of the things we didn't like was the fact that the resort itself was way too large to enjoy in its entirety. We had to take the trolley everywhere we wanted to go.

Amazing Resort!!

We really loved the resort. Lits of options for swimming pools or beach areas. Food was great in all areas. The room was really nice too. Bed could be more comfortable but, not the worst I've slept in.

Beautiful resort

The resort itself was beautiful and there was always something happening to keep us entertained. Only complains are that the service was at times slow, and uncaring. Was unhappy about the amount of seaweed on the beach, made it difficult to go into the water. Especially since Punta Cana was supposed to have the nicest beaches.

Good time-food good -people helpful -beach clean -shows -so-so-weather awesome -very helpful in trying to keep me pleased -activities were good pool side was also great -everyone were trying to help -to make holiday great

Amazing resort

It is a very nice and clean hotel. Everyone is very friendly. Will sure recommend this hotel to my family and friends.Pools are excellent! Need to have more English speaking staff. Also would like to have DJ played a mixed music e.g soca music.

Beautiful Imaculate Resort

The Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana ***** Being my first time to an all-inclusive resort I did not know what to expect and having heard from family & friends about their experiences I was somewhat skeptical given the pros/cons that I was hearing - everything from the food to the facilities and the accommodations ... but I went in with an open mind and wanted to make my own judgment call based on my own first hand experiences. All I can say is that I was more than thoroughly impressed by AL [... read more]L facets of the resort - the grounds are absolutely immaculate - picture perfect! the food was exceptional, the pools were crystal clear and clean, the staff were more than friendly and accommodating whenever called upon... my only regret is that I wasn't able to prolong my stay longer than the 7 days! I would most definitely recommend this resort to family & friends and look forward to one day returning to Paradise! thank you for making my experience a very pleasant and lasting memory. John T.

Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana

Overall an average to good place to visit but I would not pay top dollars for this huge resort. some of the staff are overly friendly, but there are quite few that are rude and argumentative. we had 2 rooms with exactly the same layout, one with floor lamp at the far side and one without which was quit dark at night, it took a long argument to have one in the missing room. both air conditioners were noisy but effective. expect to pay for security box if you are a punta cana client. resort car [... read more]ts are on time and plenty. my biggest complain is when they have an event such as water-polo match, they should isolate the area so that no one crosses the playing are which they did not care at all, it is dangerous for others. Night entertainment is good but very short. considering the proximity of places and the hours of operations, like the breakfast and lunch hours of the buffet, you find yourself rushing to get from one place to another all the time, this is hardly a relaxing experience. why there can't be more rotating fans in the main lobbies, i have no idea. careful of scammers while shopping regardless of shopping indoors or outdoors. restaurants are a superficial show of luxury. overall, this is hardly a luxury complex regardless of which resort you stay in. not worth it to pay top dollars in a more expensive resort, food is the same, beach is the same, pools are the same and rooms are not much different, I wouldn't pay much just to have beach towels in my room or a few more perks that wouldn't make much of a difference in a week stay. it is a hit and miss, but if you're lucky you can get a good room for a good price and have a good time for a week.

Nice Stay

The Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana was a nice resort. The resort was clean and staff was attentive to any needs or requests. They asked to make sure our room was up to our standards and willing to fix anything that was a concern (we had little flies in our bathroom everywhere). There were lots of pools and the beach was nice. Some shopping on site which was great. They were more than accomodating helping me make calls back home when I needed to. I would stay here again without hesitation.

We have visited this resort in the past and all is remarkable there. Would visit again. The food the staff aim to please. Rooms are very clean. All the grounds are impeccably kept. Have recommended it to a few different friends. My son is the one in our family that visited there first. He told us all about and we booked.

Awesome Place

Had a wonderful time at this resort. The food was excellent, service was great. Rooms were clean. Loved the trolley as we were in the middle & a bit of a walk to either the beach or lobby. Everyone was so friendly & even learned some Spanish! Definitely would go again.

So so

The resort was beautiful, but the bed was damp for the entire week of our stay. Even after talking to the maid, nothing was done . one day we did not have a comforter for our bed, another day we did not get restocked on coffee. Lots of bug bites all over my body. The food was great beach was beautiful and entertainment was awesome.

Shocked and annoyed to be there

everything was beautiful but the people, service and the locals. I found out that people like locals are allowed to stay in the resort for 65 dollars a night, this is from people of all backgrounds from gangs, hardworking and even prostitutes can come onto the resort. As a 5 star hotel you are expecting safety, reassurance and fun while staying on a resort not worrying about your money, your well being and your overall security. the beaches are beautiful, the food was terrible, same thing every  [... read more]single day. and the pools were dirty as well as the washrooms. the maids could not clean the room properly but it was always half done. I had the same dirty pillow cases for the full week I was there, all the room was made up and done with the same old ass sheets. there was cockroaches, dead and alive ones, they never had fresh towels I always had to ask for some and the mini bar stuff as well. I would never ever go back and I would never ever let my family either, stay far, far away from this resort. it is a unsafe, gross and nasty place to go spend a week.

Shocking and scared to be there

The hotel was beautiful, the ocean was gorgeous and the lobby was easy to access because of the carts. This is the only positive things I have to say about this location. The maids were rude in the 20 section, the place just wanted us as tourist to buy what they had. the excursions were based on sales pitches and trying to make us spend money rather than show us what the Dominican was all about. they had a lack of understanding and trying to converse with people of a different nationality. over  [... read more]all I would not ever go back there and I'm glad my trip is over with.

So so resort

We stayed in the royal golden section the rooms were clean but dated there was not updated bar in frig as advertised. The staff were very polite and helpful. The grounds were well maintained. The resort was very big and very confusing to most people .all the different part of the resort were all intertwined. The pools were very well kept.long walk for breakfast always to main lobby. Food was abot 3.5 out 5 always find something to eat. Good starter resort for people
