Simply fabulous!

We were a family of four adults and therefore booked two rooms, one with a king bed and one with two doubles. The rooms were large and bright and very comfortable. The resort was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful and wonderful! The food was plentiful and fresh and there was always something different to try. All tastes were catered to. The beaches were glorious!

2nd time in Cuba might be the last time.....

I had booked this 5 star hotel wanting a GREAT vacation by spending Christmas in the sand instead of snow. This hotel promised all the amenities of a 5 star resort BUT no one mentioned how vast the property was and if you were booked in "The Village" all adults, in order to get to the main lobby, main restaurant, Spa etc you had to call for a golf cart to come pick u up. Who wants to be waiting to be driven back and forth to your villa. Once we realized where we were on the resort, I asked to [... read more] be moved to "Duplexs" , still adult only but closer to the main part of the resort. The resort accommodated my request and we moved by the second day. Without any reduction in the price that I paid for the most expensive room. People who book here need to know there are no rooms with sea views. In order to get to the beach it is after least a 10 minutes walk. All rooms face bushes. The staff were very accommodating and tips go along way. Almost all staff were courteous and eager to please. Being a 5 star resort I would have expected more for the taste of food. I know what to expect with Cuban flair but this trip was disappointing. They have a la cart restaurants, stay far away from the Italian restaurant. Even the waiters in the buffet restaurant told us not to go there. IF you are ok with no beach views, ok with a lot of walking and ok with being shuttled by golf carts then this place should suit you fine. I must say for the first 3 days my husband and I had a entire beach to ourselves in the village section, I believe that was paradise. I did start experiencing stomach troubles on Sunday 25th, write flew home on the 27th and today the 29th, I am still feeling stomach problems. Paradise beach and great weather made the trip. Hubby and I think sadly this will be our last to trip to Cuba and we will venture back to Jamaica. Jamaica has the food, culture and rooms at or near the beach (Negril) that will make feel we got our monies worth. Bye bye Cuba :(

Iberstar santa Maria cuba

I was disappoint in the fact that the family pool was closed n we were not informed prior to getting after we paid extra. The hotel told us the families were limited to the first pool but every day there were kids st the swim up bar, one day it was so bad every chair was occupied by kids for over 2 hours. We struggled to get any resolution from either the hotel or Sunwing. After several days we bypassed the sunwing rep n went directly to the hotel manager. She finally upgraded us to the vi [... read more]llas that was beautiful n the beach was gorgeous. We had to pay for the upgrade n waiting now for our refund. The resort has beautiful rooms at the main hotel n the staff are extremely friendly n helpful.

Great family resort

Lovely hotel/resort. Great location and beaches. Hotel is a little run down, but still very nice. It's Cuba, after all. They make do with the supplies they have. Same with the food. It was decent and lots of it, just not as good as first world countries. The staff are very lovely and always a smile and "ola" to you. A great plus on the beaches is they are long and fairly level, so great for walking along. Good snorkelling right off the beach too. My Perfect Paradise

This was our second stay at Iberostar Ensenachos and we loved it just as much as the the first stay. Our daughter was married last year at the resort and all was beautiful then. The resort is very welcoming and all staff in lobby, dining, pool as well as beach areas are super friendly and very accommodating. We were able to meet with many individuals working within the resort and compliment them on their extremely hard work and dedication to their roles. Very exclusive

Yes, it does show a bit of its age here and there but also many signs of repairs and improvements (like all new boardwalks) and very active maintenance, including the extensive grounds and gardens. The property's location and layout is next to none, providing one does not mind a bit (or a lot) of walking. The food was excellent in our opinion. Service very good as it has been every time we have been at this resort.

Amazing Beach

Hotel is grand and impressive from a distance, however close up it shows a multitude of flaws that will ensure we never return again to this resort. The selection of food in buffet is very limited. We experienced rude front desk staff when requesting assistance repeatedly for maintenance to fix lights in bathroom. We did not receive bottled water 3 days out of 7 days.

Resort only 50% open

Although the grounds are well kept and groomed the resort facilities were under refurbishment, the large pool with the snack bar was totally closed and needless to say, that was the pool closest to our accommodation. We have visited Cuba four times and understood the food was a bit repetitious however the main offering was pork, my wife and I can live with that but the grandchildren (9 & 5 ) just don't like pork, don't know what happened to the chicken. The serving staff in the main buffet area  [... read more]were great, always attentive and cleared tables very promptly. The chamber maids were very cheerful and the rooms were large ad clean. The beach, because of Mathew, was small, the area was still suffering from high tides we had to abandon the beach at 4pm. My grand children had a great time, Not so much us older people.

2nd visit

Returned Sept 16 2016. This resort is excellent in almost all aspects. The food was excellent the rooms were clean the service by staff outstanding. Stayed in Spa section.the beaches the most beautiful. Air Canada Rouge get some padding for your seats. Great vacation.

Good family vacation

We have been to this resort before when it first opened. The service is about the same the food a little better, but it is Cuba. Generally there's a lot of walking though you can take a cart when it's available. The most outstanding feature of this resort is the Ensanachos beach. The beach is shallow for quite a distance, generally calm and clear, snorkelling right off the shore with many varieties of fish where you can simply feed the fish.

Bed bugs nightmare!

This hotel must have been great...10 years ago, when Iberostar actually cared. This is NOT a 5 stars hotel, even for Cuban stadards (we have been many times in Varadero before). The service is only good if you tip. The food selection's very basic. Always the same stuff over and over again ( buffet and restaurants). Had problems changing the beach towels. But the definite worst was the bed bugs/fire ants in the room. We even changed rooms but had the same problem. We came back home with severe bi [... read more]tes all over our bodies and pain for several days AND night. Needless to say, we will never go back to this resort.

Met expectations

This is our second time to the resort but first with 2 teenagers. We stayed in both the Spa section and the Grand Villa 2 bedroom unit. If you enjoy a more tranquil vacation within a beautiful environment surrounded by nature, this may be a good choice for you. Not a great choice for those who struggle with walking. Amazing beach, Terrible food

Having been south of Florida between the Caribean and Central America more than 30 times my review has some experience behind it.I will start off by saying that the beach there is absolutely gorgeous unfortunately the resort is not so nice the food quality is terrible with recycled food every day, If it wasn't eaten on day 1 it was put back out day after day.I have never gotten food poisoning in all my travels except this place.Even the Ala carte restaurants were terrible so bad that we had to g [... read more]et up and walk away from our dinners. At the bars they were even washing out the cheapest .02 cent cups and not even doing a good job of that as I was having a drink and ended up with sand in my mouth.As for the rooms they were decent except for the beds that are in desperate need of replacement nothing like lieing in bed and feeling like your going to roll out bed because the spring are so shot.I will definitely not be going back to this resort.I forgot to mention the fact that the floor in our room got swept once the hole week we were there, bed made towels changed that's it and we left a good tip every day.

Wonderful vacation

This resort its good for families with children. This was our fourth stay in this resort. We love it very much its a amazing place amazing beaches and as always stuff is wonderful.We come to this resort for relax. Cant wait to go back again.

Ultra nice resort

Hotel excelent grounds well mainttained staff super nice and helpfull . Foid excelent as well as the rooms. Beaches were resly nice and the lounge area relaxing. The entertainment couldve been better the location great .

I was told free Wi-Fi. Get free drink on the bus from airport that's a lie. My Son IPod was stolen from the room may 12 I have to leave on the 13 not enough time to complain, now he's sadden by it lost is game and pictures

Great resort

Rooms were well appointed and clean. Grounds were lush and beautiful as well as very maintained. The beaches were fantastic! The best beach ever. Serene, calm and very relaxing. The food was also good. There was always fresh grilled meats and seafood. There were also very little bugs.

Beautiful Beach

The hotel was nice, a little weathered. The Staff was awesome, the beach was beautiful and the pool area wonderful!! The concerns I have were with the food and them running out of specific foods. I would probably not return but would recommend to a friend as an OK resort.

Beautiful resort

Iberostar Ensenachos is a very clean and very beautiful resort. The pools were gorgeous and lots of shade for those that want it. The food was excellent, the staff were superb. Rooms were nice as well and very large. The beaches were the most amazing beaches ever.

Good resort

The Resort is grate the grounds are grate, rooms are very clean food is very good the only thing that need to be improved is the beach can be widen on on each side of the beach Restaurant and cleaned better, looking forward to go 3rd time if improvement are made.
