Bahia principe Jamaica

Everything was great, we wished for my of the Jamaican culture actually on the reaort. As well as more friendly attendants in stores. 2 men were very rude to use while shopping. Also the exchange rate was terrible at the hotel. ( cash attendant was very rude when I was asking questions, front desk.)

Amazing trip!

Great resort. We travelled with a group of 9 ranging from 3-65. Something to do for everyone. We did 3 excursions while there. Dunn’s river tour, Bob Marley tour and an ochios Rios shopping trip, everything was close to the resort. Reaort itself was fantastic- we were a gold band so the extra perks were great. Food excellent. Beaches weren’t over crowded, always easy to find a spot. My only complaint travelling with a little one is there’s not a lot of ramps for strollers. Amazing

Beautiful view from room.very good service great food too much walking to the room from lobby The food is delicious and room service is excellent,but overall the price of the trip was expensive.The cost for a family vacation is very expensive

Another great time

This hotel is one of our favourites. We were there from October 18-25. It was our second time this year so we were well taken care of. The food was good. We are at the 4 restaurants on our side of the resort. The Japanese being our favourite as usual. The shows where good. They had 2 beach parties and 1 pool party. We will definitely go back

Beautiful resort

I had amazing vacation at the Grand Bahia Principe the staff are friendly the hotel is beautiful it’s very clean the landscape is amazing staff very friendly…we attended a wedding and I was in awe with the services they provided … the nightly entertainment was awesome. I would recommend this hotel to anyone

4th time here, must be great

This was our fourth time at this hotel, we obviously love it, but this time was the best, they are continually striving to meet guests needs. Hotel is spotless and well maintained. Food at all areas was well prepared and delicious. They treat returning guests like family...they put a welcome home banner on our door, gave us private VIP check in. Bottom line there might be small issues, but certainly the pros outweigh the cons....this is why we will keep returning. Also big kudos to Jenn Black, our agent, who is always available to speak with or answered emails promptly, always friendly and super helpful!! We never felt like we were a hassle even when we were specific as to what we wanted and flights etc....she’s definitely an asset to tripcentral and us!! Thanks

Best trip to date!

This resort was amazing! Big enough that there was lots of space and most importantly it is set up to make it feel inclusive and easy to get around. The beaches were gorgeous, the food amazing and the rooms clean and up to date. We’re already planning our return trip!

Average resort

Front desk staff very rude wouldnt accomdate an hour of extra check out. Lots of walking. Only 1 buffet on such a big resort. Evening shows are completely ridicuals and horrible beach is fake man made with fake sand hard to walk on lots of dirt and rocks,bar tenders unless you tip them dont expect service. Drinks are watered down very weak.

Beautiful resort

We just got home from a fabulous week at this beautiful resort. The food was awsome. The beach was gorgeous white sand with lots of loungers available. Pool sparkling. Every worker greeted us pleasantly and we got to know one of the bar servants quite well. The only small complaint we had was the mini frig in the room was promised to be restocked daily and wasn’t. Fantastic Stay

I’ve stayed at the Grand Bahia on the luxury side and was hesitant about booking the other side. However, along with 12 other family members we all had a blast from the ages of 6 to 78. There is something for everybody and the staff were accommodating to all of us! Will definitely go back!

Amazing resort

We spent a week here with our 6 year old and 4 month old. It was fantastic. The beaches are beautiful, the water is calm. The rooms are clean and gorgeous. Having a stroller I do wish it was a bit more accessible with more ramps. There are ramps but you have to walk a lot further to get to them. The buffet was good but hot and seems like the air didn’t circulate well. The a la cartes were fantastic. The room service of the Royal Golden was really handy. Great time

The grounds were kept immaculate, always been worked on. My only "beef" was that the pool tiles were cleaned every night (which is great) however, the shows were down by the pool and we were walking through all the water every night. Food was amazing every place we ate and drinks were plentiful. Thanks to the great staff who for the most part had smiles and waves each day.

Exceptional resort

Wonderful location, superb amenities, excellent accommodation, poor service, food not so good (bad sausages and salami), overall good ambiance and value. Would recommend this resort to anyone searching for an amazing vacation.

Breath taking sunsets

First of all before anything else I would like to commend all staff in all departments for all of their hard work and service delivery with excellence I never have been on a Resort where so many staff in such a large establishment are all consistent with the level of interpersonal and professionalism. I hope that the Grand Bahia Principe appreciates their staff because I certainly did. Room was well maintained by housekeeping and very comfortable sleeping accommodation. There was a couple of issues with the door lock and some plumbing just minor but I have to also commend the process because from me making the call to reception to them making the call to security and maintenance was very efficient and the issues were resolved very quickly.. so I really appreciated that. The mini bar was stocked every day which was lovely. His and her robes are provided. An umbrella, the bath, and shower are huge we could bathe at the same time. The food in the resort was quite good, I would have liked to have seen a bit more decadent desserts and bit more presentation it's hard to explain. I guess more variety a bit more richness to the desserts. The entertainment was okay the resort offers outdoor entertainment and you can get up and dance or just sit and take in the music. And then there was other entertainment up in the shopping area which could have been a bit more advertised..I took me a couple days to actually figure that out. There is a band called The Sweet and Dandy band which is brought into the front lobby twice a week. This bands music really resonates so much with the Jamaican culture to me Jamaican lifestyle just that Grassroots Music and it really created such a lovely ambience in the front lobby. It would have been nice if they were brought in more often to play because the front lobby had a totally different presence when this band played. This music provides by this band was perfect for just daytime Jamaican kick back music. Couldn't stop shaking my head tapping my toes and my fingers when they were there playing. There is shopping plaza upstairs near the children's section of the resort and it's sort of hidden away.. I think It could be more advertised because I didn't learn about that and I think until four days in but one of the things I want to talk about is there was a lot of variety of merchandise but I was a little disappointed to learn that the Jamaican store operators are actually owned by the East Indians. It would have been nice to see a bit more opportunity given to the Jamaicans themselves especially where you see paraphernalia like Bob Marley and so many different souvenirs affiliated with Jamaica and the Caribbean people themselves being sold but not being sold by them. I was just really disappointed about that I really wanted that ethnicity. when you find out the shops are not owned by the Jamaican people themselves it was a disappointment for me I also had come with a very large group of people the feedback that was given to me was that some of the shopkeepers were pretty much towering over and personal space impeded on and overall an invasive shopping experience. My last comment is about the little beach areas the resort beaches were sort of sectioned-off I think it's like 3 or 4 which is kind of interesting and uniquely laid out. Actually, if you can't afford to do an excursion I do want to just mention that in one of the beach areas that I was in was in abundance with beautiful schools of fish who actually bump into your ankles. There was that many of them. If you want to pack the kids snorkeling gear... it's totally worth it. I can't say anything bad about this Resort it is well managed from top to bottom from management team to the Frontline staff.. Everybody was just so consistent as I mentioned before good service. If you're going to Montego Bay I highly recommend Resort THIS RESORT. Remember to tip 😁

Amazing resort

This resort is fabulous this was our 13th visit here and still love it just as much as we did the first. The staff are amazing Donna, Marlene, Timoy, phillip marcel, nyoka, veronica, vanessa, Jerome just yo name a few. Clean place excellent food. Just love it all!!!

Did not meet expectation

Customer service was awful, even speaking with management of customer relations was horrible. The food was constantly cold and not always replenished, everyday we seen cockroaches in the restaurant area as well as the hallway, our room wasn't restocked with towels we had to ask for towels everyday, a la carts weren't running for the first 4 days of our trip and then when they were running only 1 a la cart a night was running for approx. 1600 guests, staff were rude and pushy and actually reques [... read more]ted tips, the best part of our trip was the weather, the company we were with and when we left the resort - the resort was so horrible to be at that we left everyday to eat, the pool was very nice but the deck smelt so awful like old mop water, the beach is very clear and clean but shallow and rocky for the first couple of feet, and crabs For a "5 star" resort it was truly disappointing and this was our 6th visit to Jamaica and worse vacation ever

Fantastic Resort!

This resort really does have it all. Although you will definitely have to walk a lot, it is worth it as this resort is well equipped for your every need. The pool is clean and of course has a pool bar. The beach area is beautiful. Not a lot of people hassling you and lots of chairs available. Soooo much good quality food. The  [... read more]buffet was great as well though, with so much to choose from. The shows are ok, not really my thing, but there are so many excursions to try out near here. The rooms are very big with four poster beds, the bathrooms have a shower and a whirlpool tub and there is a large balcony. The service here is fantastic. The place is so clean I didn't even see an abandoned cup and the servers are all too happy to cater to your every need. Beautiful place, beautiful weather, beautiful people. I will be back. One love.

Great family resort

We went for a family vacation with our 2 year old son. We found the hotel clean there are lots of activities as well for everyone. We recommend paying a little extra to get the golden club. Worth the perks like room service included whenever we wanted. The beach is shallow and there were lots of fishes. The kids pool was fantastic and Our room was quiet so we were able to sleep early for our son. I would go back and food was good too not fantastic but you eat well. Not So Amazing Resort

The grounds were beautiful and the food was delicious but unfortunately that's where the beauty ended. The hotel was dated and dirty, the rugs in the hall ways were filthy. The air conditioner in our room was broken, they moved us 1 o'clock in the morning. The staff on the front desk were the farthest thing from friendly I've ever seen. Great Resort. Great Location. Great Value!

This was a great place and one of the best we ever stayed at in Jamaica and the Caribbean islands. Rooms were great. Service was awesome. Buffet food was excellent too. A la carte restaurants were hit and miss but that did not affect us in anyway since we were offered more a la carte options than our three options included in our package. We would have liked to have a little bit more flexibility with checking out times.
