Another Fantastic Vacation at Bahia Principe Club Ambar

This is the fourth time we have vacationed at this resort. We keep coming back here because the service is beyond excellent. The resort is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. The beach is very nice and yes if you want to have a sun shade either on the pool or the beach you will have to get up early to get those ones but you will always have a seat/chair somewhere. Over all this is a very lovely resort and will definitely go back again.

Beautiful place

Our stay last year at Ambar Green went more smoothly than at this year Ambar Blue. The first three days our main door for our room did not automatically lock. Each time we had someone come, they would fix it , it would only work temporarily. After 3 days it was working properly. Even the safe malfunctioned on the second day, but got fixed after that. The food was really good, but A La Cartes were tough to get in from the every first night. Luckily our main restaurant always had good food anyway. [... read more] The resort was very clean and the staff was always so gracious to help when they needed. Staff were good, and for the most part had smiles on their faces which made the trip pleasing, We had a fun memorable trip.

PERFECTION IS ALL I CAN SAY

been to this hotel several times, never fails to deliver quality...food/beverage/staff/pool/ beach....we will return again and again.. going to do renos in june til nov but don't know what they could possibly improve

Very Nice Vacation

Resort was nice and clean. We had no complaints about the resort or staff. Entertainment pool side was amusing and upbeat. Beach area was spectacular. Food was decent - no complaints - always left full and satisfied. Ambar Blue itself is nice and small but entire Bahia property is huge - they offer golf cart service around the property which was available with no waits. Great vacation.

I've been to Luxury Ambar Blue 7 times now , it gets better everytime , staff are a amazing, friendly and always helpful , smilies are endless and beautiful . Can't wait for next year with all the new renovations happening this coming summer and to get more enjoyment and relaxition .. Cheers to everyone there . I recommend trying this piece of paradise !

Awesome Capsulated Resort

We stayed here for our first time late March 2018. Everything you need can be found in the Ambar Blue section without having to leave. There are 3 buffet restaurants and also 4 additional reserve only restaurants including the Don Pablo which was exceptional. The pool was clean and warm and the pool bar was hopping with lots of servers so not much wait time. Very nice (too big)resort

When we arrived at the airport and cleared customs, we were directed to bus #9 . I was displeased that we had to wait sitting in the bus for a whole hour before the bus actually moved to go to the resort....I find this totally unacceptable... When you get arrive after a long flight, customers are understandably impatient to get to their hotel and being held up for an hour, shows a severe lack of customer orientation....In previous years for other resorts, the wait was an acceptable 15 minut [... read more]es The grounds are very well maintained...the walks were always spotless... The pool was cleaned every day and there were a lot of lawn chairs and umbrella's(palapas).... The restrooms(banos) have attendants cleaning them all day....You have to get to the pool early to reserve a good spot but then this is normal for this type of resort... The buildings are 3 stories so you have to expect some stairs....the rooms were cleaned without fail every day...some of the buildings are somewhat far from the beach...The common rooms are spacious, well lit and the waitresses keep the drinks flowing...Too often the music is the boring typical repetitive carribean sounds (that I don't like) Just don't expect rock and roll more than once a week. The staff all over the resort appreciate tips.....most people give out US dollar bills.... They have many "gourmet restaurants e.g..Mexican, japanese, mediterranean, italian etc....The food and the service in these is exemplary, the atmosphere pleasant and I would recommend them yet the buffets and the food they serve therein is beyond reproach . In closing, I found this resort way too big and I would select a different resort if I return to Punta Cana...

A Great Huge Resort!!

This resort is no shortage of food, drinks, pools, restaurants, shops....you may need more than seven days to see it all. The grounds were very well maintained, the staff were helpful and polite, always smiling and greeting you. We had one small problem with our room and that was the shower that sprayed water all over. T [... read more]his resort is a 'Complex' of smaller resorts within it that makes it feel like a complex. This resort has a shuttle carts that run up and down the main artery with people to go to the beach and different locations within the resort. We like to walk and there was no shortage of places that we discovered along our walks. However, even thou this was a huge resort we always felt safe no matter where we were. They had staff on the beach making sure that the vendors were not hounding the sun bathers, making sure that the resorts patrons were at their designated areas (Ambar Blue & Ambar Green adults only) no families with kids were allowed in this area. All in all its' a lovely resort and if we go again we will certainly stay for more than seven days. :O)

Beautiful Resort

Everything about this Resort was wonderful, no complaints. Our stay was very enjoyable, the grounds are immaculate,the staff friendly and cheerful and helpful. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a large comfortable bed. A la Carte was great, as well as the Buffett a lot to choose from. Pool was nice a little noisy, but that’s to be expected with the bar being there. A lot of pool activity, always something to do. I would recommend this resort to any body.

Just Okay!!

This was my 6th time to this resort and the quality is going in the wrong direction. Too many things going on around the pool, food is never warm and for the first time one of us was very sick from a bacterial infection in the stomach from the food that required hospitalization......overall not a great experience!! Not the place if you want quiet and relaxing. It has gotten too big and the personal touches are all gone. Some of the customer services staff were great (Ronny in the Ambar blue  [... read more]lounge) and others were rude and unfriendly. Definitely time to take our business elsewhere.

Great Place

Service flawless. Grounds, pool and beach all well kept. Very good entertainment; love that it’s in the large lobby where there’s no smoking. The singer who also played violin was amazing! Brand name liquors included. Free Wifi all over, even at beach. Ice cream cart on beach in afternoon. Our week went by way too fast! Our only wish is that the bed wasn’t so hard.😏

Overpaid trip in comparison

Everything was perfect for the exception of the amount paid for this trip. I met and discussed the cost of trip with others in Ambar Blue like me. No amount exceeded $1700 for the week double occupancy; direct flights and all services available. My weekly cost was $2,295. for the same trip for the exception of being single. That is a difference of $595. per week more for my trip. For a 2 week vacation, I had to put out an extra $1,190. more than others I find this quite unacceptable. As  [... read more]a test, I was able to google the same trip exactly for the 2 last weeks in February as a single occupancy for $3,100. without Trip Central as agent. Please do explain such exorbitant fee on your part.

Disappointing

Most food was tasteless and bland. A la cartes were disappointing and most servers had very very limited understanding of English which resulted in wrong orders, especially Don Pablo. Alcohol was low grade and several times ran out of vodka and baileys and Clamato juice. Room was run down - broken drawers in dresser, shower door would not close, no facecloths most of the time, irradic supplies in fridge, water and coffee. Cleaning was never done on deck. We have travelled extensively and by far this is the least satisfactory resort we have stayed at.

Second time and still beutiful

Traveled Jan 28th 2018 for 7 days, exceptional service, great beach, excellent food and drinks, only reason i would not return is the resort has grown in the past 5 years and is very busy, but the biggest reason is the staff hounding us to buy in a time share, i always wondered what happen to all the sleezy used car salesmen, well there all in punta cana selling time shares!!! big turn off!!

5 star all around

Had an awsome time. Staff were amazing. Grounds were exceptionally clean. Food was abundant and very good. Our server by the pool Zolita was the best I've seen. Santo and the entertainment group made our vacation fun and entertaining. I would recommend Ambar Blue to everyone.

Great beach, good food, decent service, but watch out for mosquitos

Beach was excellent - clear water, decent amount of shadey lounge chairs. Food was really good. Drinks were also good. Service really varied depending on the person - one of our butlers (Odelite) was AMAZING!!!! And some of the waitors and other staff would go out of their way, but others were not as helpful. One issue we had for example was that our room had tons of mosquitos throughout our stay and we kept getting bitten in our sleep. We were killing like 5+ per day and there were more. We as [... read more]ked the hotel twice to address it but they never did. Bring lots of bug spray including extra to spray around the room doorways etc.

Great place

This was our 5th trip to the Bahia Principe Anbar Blue. They have done some good upgrades. The activities around the pool has definitely been stepped up! Kayak races, trapeze artists, Zumba in the pool and big blow up agility sets. The only bad thing we had was when we went to the Don Pablo restaurant for dinner. Our reservation was for 7:30pm. By 9:00om, we had only had our soup course. We did something we have never done before, we got up and left. It's a great resort with lots to do.

Perfect for Adults!

The grounds of this resort are meticulously kept. Even the beach is groomed all day long. The services were very accommodating. Our room was lovely. We did ask for ocean view and did not get it. As we explored the resort, we realized that there were not many (if any) rooms that were ocean view. Our room was 2nd floor with a king bed, lovely shower, deep whirlpool tub, working safe, working fridge. Our only complaint was that our balcony faced some sort of generator or compressor behind a  [... read more]store which made a constant loud noise. We decided to let it go since our room was so lovely and we did not spend much time on the balcony. This resort is part of a huge resort. We did wander into the larger areas but we did not need to. In Ambar Blue, a lobby, buffet, a la carte restaurants, pool, beach and shops are all within the Ambar Blue and an easy walking distance. Our maid/butler service was wonderful. Food was great at the Brazilian Steakhouse. It was mostly good at buffet and beach BBQ. The staff were friendly and polite and helpful. An invitation was slipped under our door to attend a "privilege club" meeting. We were sure this was the "time-share" meeting. We did not go and no one else mentioned a time-share or bothered us to go to a meeting the entire week. A very classy way to do it. Pool was clean and had everything nearby (washrooms, food, small shop, beach). Plenty of beach/pool chairs. We loved this resort and the low-key adult vibe. Shows got a little crazy sometimes in the evening but all in fun! We would definitely return to Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue.

Beautiful Resort, But lacking

Grounds, rooms, pool and beach were very well kept and clean. Most of the staff were very good. Friendly, courteous and maids did a great job cleaning the room. Because of the food, I, my wife and our co-travelers all agreed that the resort was definitely not deserving of a 5 star rating. I have been to 5 star resorts before and I could always choose a steak at evening dinner and give it to the cook at the buffet to cook or heat up. This was not available at this resort. On 2 occasions, there [... read more] was no bacon left by 09:30 and if there was some left on other days, there were only small pieces. There was no bottled water at the pool, beach or in the buffet. You were only given water in a cheap flimsy plastic glass. Because of the food, I would give this resort a 4 or 4.5 star at best.

Fantastic Resort

An excellent overall experience- Amazing dining options, Friendly and helpful staff, Fantastic pool area, Beautiful tropical setting and Great nightly entertainment. Looking forward to my next visit !
