Club Amigo Ancon: Some excellent Services

Hector at the pool bar is a perfectionist with his bar tending skills, mohito's, Sangria and Pina Coladas were spectacular. Truly an artist! Also the coffee bar and beer bar were exceptional as well. The main dining room is too hot and stuffy

Hotel Rancho Luna: Economical good resort

Grounds well kept. Food good, need labelling on entrees to identify. Beach satisfactory, not long enough for walking experience, best swimming at public beach nearby. Staff efficient and attentive. Large pool was an asset.l. Fun animation team and activities. Appears guests are mostly seniors. Complaints about the nightly entertainment music being far too loud. A la carte dinners were a nice change, not really special...room needed more atmosphere,too. Guest rooms basic, but clean. Impressed with all the guests returning year after year and well satisfied with their holiday and friends met there over the years.

Club Amigo Ancon: Club Amigo Ancon, Cuba

Hotel 3 stars that makes great efforts to be top. Food ok, restaurants help for the variety. Oceanview room ok but not so big. People are very very welcoming, great service. Scuba diving is great and Leo and Igor great instructors. Hector makes delicious and original cocktails. MariaElena very attentive to the clients and she offers great service either to the dining room or the lobby bar. Trinidad is a beautiful city.

Club Amigo Ancon: Great Resort.

The Club Amigo Ancon Resort is very nice. The lounge is good, they gave us good room and upgraded us without charging any extra money. Over all the resort is very compact and enjoyable. The food is ok, very basic. But we have to remember it that this is 3 star. About the Gran Caribe Resort , I am very much disappointed. The main reception is nice, beach is nice, the people are very friendly. But the conditions of the rooms run down a lot. The food is average. Hotel Rancho Luna: HOTEL Rancho de Luna cienfuagos CUBA not so good

the house cleaning was not so good- the food at the buffet so & so- very bad on the beach for sand flees she was bitten on her ankles my wife had to see a Dr. at a clinic. the best good time we had was at the pool the pool boy had it clean all the time the, and snack bar at the pool was our best deal.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Friendly resort

The staff at this resort are very friendly, most don't speak English but try very hard to under stand and reply to your questions and comments. The maids are good and trust worthy but do forget replacing dirty drinking glasses in your room daily. The kitchen staff do a good meal and display it nicely. The bar tending staff don't have a large drink mixology knowledge but are adequate. The beach is nice but not soft and sandy but gritty to the touch. There is no horseback riding that was advertise [... read more]d and no bikes to rent. The cabs are small, old and a bit uncomfortable but they will get you to where you wan to go. There are adequate site seeing trips to some very nice places to visit. All in all we did enjoy our time there and would consider going back, just not at New Years as the locals are invited to partake in the resort festivities and it made for some crowded situations at meal time and food was lacking. The weather was beautiful the whole time and that's what most people go for. If you go do take toilet paper as this is one area that was the biggest down fall, most toilets where not stocked on a regular basis and washroom water and soap is in short supply.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Could be better

Just returned recently from Hotel Rancho Luna. We had some cold nights from the beginning of my stay. Otherwise the weather was quite pleasant. The service and food is the same that is standard in this place- from better to worse. One day is quite good the other quite terrible. There is no consistency to maintain some standard. There is some improvement in the service stuff, mainly rejuvenation. They are younger, professional and pleasant. The pool was completely redone with new tiles; quite nic [... read more]e. There were also made changes of some mattresses and some new fridges on the ground floors. Although, I was in this Hotel many times, it is time to look for some new destination.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Very very nice resort!

Good food and the service was excellent, peoples very nice! Nice large pool, nice beach near the hotel, pedalos, kayak's and catamaran's rides and many activities planned by the peoples there! I'll go back anytime!

Hotel Pasacaballo: best value for the money

Very clean.amazing service.great swimming pool .and close to many great restaurants at the bay(1.5 km. walk such as Cristal ranch) No beach at the resort but the Cuban hospitality there makes up for everything. Will go again for sure/

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Great Improvement's

This was my second time at the Brisas Trinidad , we enjoyed our second visit very much . The main buffet was finished with its renovations. Very bright and large Buffet area now, the selection was good . The staff at the Brisas Hotel are all wonderful . Always ready to help you with all your wishes. Club Amigo Ancon: Very good budget vacation!

My sister and I (both seniors), spent a very enjoyable week at Club Amigo Ancon at the end of Sept.2014. Our room was really nice, with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. It had an excellent bathroom (full tub, hairdryer etc. and spotlessly clean) with lots of hot water, and good water pressure. We had a mini fridge (fresh bottle of water every day), safe, and a top-notch, digitally controlled air conditioner. Also very comfortable beds. We were in the ''Superior '' building. The beach was [... read more] absolutely gorgeous, and the ocean nice for swimming....no rocks or coral, and a nice gradual slope into the water, which got deep enough to swim within a few feet of the shoreline. Perfect !! Lots of palapas available for shade, although quite a number of the beach loungers were cracked or broken. This resort is VERY accessible for anyone with mobility issues (or mom's with strollers!) ...there are ramps everywhere, and wooden boardwalks leading down to the beach. BUT, strangely,no elevators in the newer (Superior) building, which seems odd (and inconvenient!!) Unfortunately, the pool was completely unuseable for the entire week that we were there. It looked like pea soup, you could not even SEE the bottom!! This was not a big issue for us, as we prefer to swim in the ocean, but must have been very disappointing for people who prefer the pool. And the weather was HOT that week !! I have to say that the food was not the best feature of this resort, although this is possibly because it was low season, and they may have been gearing the food to the many local Cuban families that were staying at that time. The breakfasts were nice (eggs, omelettes, lovely fresh orange juice, fruit etc. etc.) but the food at lunch and dinner (with the exception of some very nice fish) was quite monotonous. We ate mainly at the 24 hr. snack bar, which served quite tasty pizzas, fries, burgers and sandwiches, and just went to the buffet for dessert (very nice ice cream !!). We certainly didn't starve !! It is a very long (3 hour) drive from the airport (Santa Clara), but the scenery is absolutely spectacular, so was quite enjoyable during daylight hours. In the dark, not so much !! We really enjoyed our week at Hotel Ancon....wish we could have stayed longer !!

Hotel Rancho Luna: Good Experience

The pool was under renovation, so there was dust everywhere. The staff were very accommodating and professional. They were attentive and polite. Front desk staff spoke English and were polite. They could have provide transportation to the city in the afternoon, instead of just the morning , with a pickup in the evening.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Please read this before you book

 I am writing to you to inform you about the inconvenience that was caused due to the swimming pool renovations as described below: Power sand blasting machines were used to remove the mold and paint from the pool. During this cleaning process the excessive dust and mold was flying all over the place making sitting and breathing in that air impossible. I want to emphasize here that mold is considered to be a serious health hazard.  Due to this excessive dust even the espresso coffee machin [... read more]e had to be moved to the A la Carte restaurant as it stopped working due to that dust, leaving all guests without access to coffee for 24 hrs.Due to the excessive noise from these machines it was so uncomfortable to have a sound sleep especially in the early morning hours (8 am), which you expect to have on your holidays.Beside the sand blasting machines, an excavator was used to remove all the surrounding tiles around the pool causing excessive noise and making the accessibility to our rooms difficult. The left over debris was not cleared up properly which caused me to cut my feet at night while trying to get to my room from the restaurant.The shuttle offered by Hola Sun from Rancho Luna hotel to Faro Luna hotel to be able to use the pool in that hotel, was on a ridiculous schedule. It would pick you up at 8:45 am and drop you back at 12 and pick up at 2 pm again and drop you at 5 pm. There was no shuttle service between these hours making it so difficult to plan your day. I tried once to walk to that hotel which is about 20 minutes walk, but the heat was excessive. The temperatures were 35 - 37 degrees Celsius. I went for holidays and did not go there to suffer.  Hola Sun should be responsible to provide the shuttle service from 8 am - 5 pm continuously or a more frequent service than just twice a day. Due to this lack of continuous shuttle service I had to spend $90 out of my own pocket on taxi rides to go back and forth to the hotels in order to use the pool. This hotel should have been completely closed down during these renovations. Its very inconvenient for travellers and a huge health hazard. These were the worst vacations ever that I have been to so far. I did talk to Hola Sun staff about all these issues but they were not responsive and they did not seem to care at all about my complaints.

Club Amigo Ancon: Amazing and relaxing

Pool and beach where top notch. I've been to veradero twice and it is no where near as good. This is a place more for people who want to relax and party with their own friends and family. Veradero is more commercialized and for a younger crowd (16-24)

Hotel Rancho Luna: ok

Nothing good in that Hotel ,the only good on that Hotel it is in Cienfegos city that,s way me and my friends we going that Hotel,and also some good person working in that Hotel .like manager,Always no dishes bad foods,cockroach on the foods,and Hola Sun makes difficulty to book just Hotel for my friend in Cuba from Toronto to Rancho luna Hotel. Faro Luna: Very bad hotel

Our experience when staying in this hotel was simply bad. Room furniture in urgent need of repair/replacement. Very limited menu for breakfast and dinner Long waits for dinner. Staff with very little English. Staff let locals use the swimming pool. There was a lot of screaming and loud music. After that the water was green (algae?) and we would not risk swimming there

Hotel Rancho Luna: You'll Love This Place

You can't get this much for your money anywhere in the world. I have been to Cuba many times and this was my second holiday at Rancho Luna. The first time was Nov/13 - I vacationed with my son and daughter. We got adjoining rooms, met some fun people and had an absolutely wonderful vacation. Reception is smooth and the rooms were fresh and conveniently located near the bar and pool and front desk. The beach is a short walk across a field that offers horseback riding. Entertainment included the usual, dance lessons, bingo, group guessing games, and Cuban dancers that will dazzle you with their beauty and talent. All service is excellent with friendly bartenders, cooks, servers. If you want a quiet, beautiful vacation where you can relax and just enjoy Cuba then this is the place. You can get a cab into town anytime for 10 Pesos or use the convenient shuttle twice daily. We cabbed into town one evening and danced the night away. I returned in March 2014 - this time by myself because my daughter and son couldn't come. I went home a new person - relaxed, tan, and with money in my pocket because Rancho Luna is affordable for even the tightest budget. Rancho Luna now has a disco on the beach for those who want to dance and drink after the sun goes down. I've stayed at resorts from three to five stars and I can tell you the food, service, things to do, beaches are pretty much the same. There are two differences - first is you - are you one of those people who have to boast to folks back home that you went to a five star resort - or do you want to boast about a great vacation and the money you still have in your account after Rancho Luna. Club Amigo Costa Sur: Hidden Treasure!

We had a bungalow on the beach. It was a gem. Very clean & cozy. Both, the naturally enclosed beach and the pool were great. Food was well prepared, and well served. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and we were very pleased to make new friends, both among the staff and the guests. And yes, we certainly will return.
