Club Acuario: great

Room was nice dinning was great only during night lots mosquito in room I would suggest the housekeeping ladies during cleaning they should keep the door closed the night activities was great really enjoyed pool is fun So friendly helpful people always happy . I like it . My 1st time but really enjoy it . One comment about Internet service most time it's down.

Club Acuario: not that famous

the hotel location is very good. the service is not that good. the maintenance if the building is very bad. I got the roof leaking I had to call for repair, I asked to change the room but they preferred to fix the problem. the toilette doesn't flash the water at ALL. you have to spend 2 or 3 times the water to flash it. it was moisture on the wall. they paint it will they fixed the releasing for the roof. They serve the same food everyday. it was really boring. as I don't eat meat I was looking  [... read more]for fish. no way. so I had to be vegetarian for 1 week Anyway I won't return there anymore.

Villa Bacuranao: Best of both worlds!

Very pleasant setting and great hospitality. Easy access to Havana and local beach is quite nice. Basic rooms, mattress a bit soft, some water pressure issues, and sewer smell at night (either close bathroom door or cover the vent). Not all rooms have hair dryers.

Club Acuario: Cuban people are terrific.

We paid for a suite. The toilet didn't work and after the first morning, there was about an inch of water all over the floor (more in the sitting room). One day the water was turned off. Two days the elevator didn't work. We are seniors (80+).

Marazul Hotel: Met expectations

I had read reviews of the hotel and I think they prepared me well. Tropicoco is a two star and therefore not luxurious. The rooms are large, clean but very sparse. Many have a great view. No balcony in either of the two rooms I had ( I switched for a better view). Staff were hard working and efficient. Food was as bad as everyone says. Plastic cups for drinks at the bar. Location is great for a split beach/Havanna vacation. Shuttle bus was great. Beach is nice, but crowded and at times very litt [... read more]ered. Lots of jelly fish when I was there. I would go back.

Hotel El Bosque: Okay hotel

The hotel was clean and most of the staff were pleasant. The pool was nice & clean but got very busy & loud for a few days due to locals with day passes. The rooms had safes but there was a charge to use it. My expectations for the food weren't high but I was disappointed by the lack of fruit at breakfast. The snacks available by the pool were good and reasonably priced. The area around the hotel was residential but there were places within walking distances to see.

Hotel Paseo Habana: Charming hotel in a great neighborhood!

I really enjoyed staying here. My room was spotlessly clean with a nice view, the staff were friendly and very helpful, and the hotel is close to great streets for strolling,eating, the gorgeous Museum of Decorative Arts, and the Malecon. The air-conditioning worked well but the shower temperature was sometimes a bit unpredictable, and traffic noises at night can be loud. But this place gives you that 'Cuban vibe' and a taxi to Old Havana takes only 10 min or so. The city bus also goes right by  [... read more]the hotel (if you are up for that adventure). Hotel El Bosque: Not too bad

My boyfriend and I stayed there 3 or 4 days. The room was quite comfortable, we didn't had any problems. There was a little bit of rust in the bathroom, but it didn't annoy us that much.The staff was nice, we even enjoyed a show on Friday and Saturday. The food wasn't very good (especially the breakfast), but we spent most of our time in the Old Town anyway and left several days to visit other cities : the hotel is near Viazul station (only 5 min by taxi), which is a good point ! Kohly hotel is cheap and OK if you plan, like us, to spend most of your time outside Havana, but I would not recommend for a long stay in the capital city.

Iberostar Selection Parque Central: Awesome service and facilities!

We stayed in the modern section, and it was just as good as a typical boutique hotel. We had a suite and it was huge. I would definetely stay there again. We walked into the lobbys of all the other comparable hotels and none of them match the Iberostar Parque Central.

Las Terrazas Aparthotel: location, location, location

Do not expect 5***** is nice placer with friendly staff and unfriendly mosquitos when tour room is close to palms .... . nice weather you stay on the beach very close to the hotel if not you could always go to Habana in 35 to 40 minutes. Cara to renta cheaper than un Habana. Nice fisherman village close by Guanamo worth to go specially for late dinner by taxi or you walk by beach forma late lunch. Comodoro: Good for cuba

Nice resort for Havana. And when you know Cuba the star rating is givin when the resort wa built. I have been to alot of hotels and well. They need to stop misleading guest. There is no man made beach there is no boats. It does not look like the pictures. Due to hurricanes and being so old with no financial income. Marazul Hotel: The beach and proximity to Havana

The hotel is 2.5 star so do not expect much. But if you want a perfect beach and a convenient location to do sightseeing in Havana this is the hotel to choose. Good and polite service. Food: meats are excellent veggies bland. Entertainment: two years ago very good this year not so much. Cuban dance shows always very nice. Pool: not good but what for do u need a pool when u have a perfect beach?

Hotel Caribbean: It grows on you

This is an inexpensive hotel that has a very central location. The rooms are small but tidy with little accommodation for your belongings. The rooms at the front have windows and lots of noise from the Prado but its a great perspective on Habana life. The Breakfast is remarkably skimpy with an egg so thin it is translucent. However the place grows on you. The staff are friendly and engaging and there is lots of local activity that somehow enriches your Habana experience I will return

Melia Habana: Melia Havana

The room was very clean. Unlike most hotels, the bathroom was very spacious. We loved the daily shuttle service into Old Havana. The pool area was amazing. The staff was courteous and helpful. We would definitely go back to this hotel. We could find convenient food markets and inexpensive places to eat within walking distance of the hotel.

Islazul Colina Hotel: Good Value. Would return

Was in room 515 which has been renovated. New clean bathroom, comfortable beds, air cond. , somewhat noisy. Friendly staff. Great location across from University. Met many intriguing characters on the patio. Breakfast is adequate. Next time I would bring my own instant coffee. Would definitely return.

Marazul Hotel: Good Experience, May not be for everyone

Good place for couples, groups of friends - wouldn't recommend for solo. Beautiful beach, nice staff, our room on the 4th floor was great. Food was okay - I would return. Close to Havana and great day trips through sunwing.

Be Live Havana City Copacabana: Good value

We found the Copacabana a perfectly acceptable hotel at less than half the price of hotels one notch up. The hotel has several wings, which may differ in condition, but the wing we were in (room numbers starting with 3) was renovated, everything worked, space was adequate, and the beds were comfortable. We spent three nights there, during a record-breaking cold spell, with howling winds and waves crashing over the sea wall into the salt water swimming pool. So we can't report on the swimming poo [... read more]ls, although the layout looked pleasant. At least one side was shaded at any time of day. Service was friendly and professional, although the room upkeep girl left little doubt about how much she craved a tip. Be generous. She is probably supporting a whole family on her earnings. Previous reviewers have complained about the breakfast. Well-made omelets were the centerpiece of a buffet with considerable variety and some variation day-to-day. Missing however were such standards as crisp bacon, Danish pastries, and whole-grain cereal. Cereal in Cuba is regarded as kid stuff; the only oatmeal we could find in supermarkets was baby food, but it was okay mixed with fruit juice. Be prepared to pay a lot for dicey Internet service anywhere in Cuba--or leave your electronics at home and enjoy the freedom. $4 for a local telephone call was rather steep, though. The tourist bus goes right past the hotel--$5 pp for a round trip to the old city. The official stop is on the hotel side, from which the bus takes you to the end of the line before heading back to the city. However, we have seen the bus pick up people on the opposite side of the street, on its way to the old city.

Hotel Deauville: Hotel Deauville a disappointment

This hotel was a disappointment and I am surprised that it was even suggested that we stay there. When we arrived late on a Sat night there were people hanging around the outside of the hotel and in the lobby, very loud music was drowning out any other sounds, it was dark and smoky. Reception was indifferent and we were told they don't exchange money. Banks are closed on Sunday. There was no water in the room so fortunately they allowed us, after much discussion, to have a tab added to our room. [... read more] There are two elevators but only one works. The light was out in the hall to our room so we have to feel around in the dark to find the card access. Once in the room it was small, dingy, curtains were unhemmed and dragging on the floor, not hanging properly on the curtain rod. The room was clean but there was no where to put the luggage except on a chair or on the floor. The telephone in the room was not connected. We were told if there was a call for us they would come and get us. The bathroom was clean but there was no hot water, towels were not changed daily when we indicated that they were dirty. During our stay, we had two days with no water at all. The cleaning staff was friendly but they did not observe the 'do not disturb' sign and just walked in on us. We could feel the coils in the bed, pillows were flat, only one small blanket was available. The sliding door to the balcony did not fit properly so when the wind blew, it leaked so much that the curtains were blowing with the door locked. The pool was nice, music was very loud. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience and I would recommend that it not be suggested as a place to stay unless you want this sort of place.

Melia Cohiba: A fantastic hotel for singles, couples, families!

Located on the Malecon, the Melia Cohiba was a wonderful place to stay. The hotel is modern, the rooms are clean and spacious and ours looked out over both the water and the city. The breakfast buffet was incredible, the pool area was lovely and the staff were very helpful. This hotel may not be in Old Havana but a free shuttle makes it easy to get there in minutes.If you are looking for an excellent hotel in Havana, you won't be disappointed in the Melia cohiba!

Hotel Atlantico: Nice stay.

The hotel was perfect for us. Not luxurious but comfortable and clean. The room was bigger than we expected with lots of drawers and cupboard space. We did have to fiddle with the toilet a couple of times, the sink faucet moved on the counter and the bathtub had seen better days, but there was plenty of hot water and lots of pressure. It became a bit repetitive, especially since I don't eat meat, but I didn't plan on haute cuisine. Yes, there could be flies and birds in the dining area but it just added to the ambience. And Lado, a waiter, was the essence of charm and attentive service. Havana was just a short, free shuttle bus away, so our stay was a great mix of city and beautiful beach time. The ocean was warm, could be choppy, but playing in the waves was a wonderful respite from frigid Toronto. Hotel Atlantico was the right place at the right time.
