Allegro Cozumel: Some key points

This is a beautiful resort. Very clean and amazing landscaping. I travelled with my boyfriend of 7 years and we did truly have an amazing time. However, this is a very family friendly resort meaning there is no 24/7 bar. No real lobby bar, it’s upstairs above the lobby with a pool table and air hockey so there’s always kids around and no smoking is allowed up there. Also if you’re there for sleep request a ground floor room because the second floor has a thatched roof which carries so much sound!

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Great resort!!

Enjoyed our stay!! Loved the 2 bedroom hut Very friendly staff Good food!! Was a little confusing after dark as there are many pathways to get to the rooms wish there was more lights on these paths. That is our only concern Great entertainment and no fighting for beach chairs and poolside Lots of seating!! Would definately go here again. 15 minutes from the airport was a real bonus

Allegro Cozumel: Well Worth the Value!

Positives: Perfect sized resort, less than 5 min walk from Main lobby to beach; Grounds, pools, amenities were in excellent shape (no cracked pool tiles) Kids pool area was loved by our kids and kept them very busy; Drinks were excellent, a lot of premium brands and made well; Staff was great,very friendly and majority of them spoke English; Beach was awesome (a little seaweed) the volleyball court was front and center with a lot of activity; The entertainment staff was great around the pool;  [... read more]the food demonstrations at the pool were excellent; The dive shop was very professional and excellent to deal with; diving from this location was very good and sites were close by; Rooms were clean and updated, Beds were very comfortable; Evening Entertainment was great, something different and professional every night; Kids club was located in an excellent location; Food overall was good but could use some improvement, Japanese was excellent, Italian was not. Negatives: Rooms were tight for 4 people; 2nd floor rooms leak in heavy rain; rooms were noisy from people outside; Hot water in room was hit and miss - more miss; Kids club was an excellent facility but needs to have more engagement and scheduled activities; Times between when the buffet was closed there was no real place to get good food (sports bar food was crap); Having to book Restaurants; The biggest negative I found was you could only book 2 a la carte restaurants within one 7 day stay - dumb.

Allegro Cozumel: Good

Grounds were beautiful, well kept. Rooms also nice, small but nice - liked the hut idea. Food was ok, experienced better in other resorts in Mexico. Since we were limited to two a la carte choices (although we managed to get a third), the buffet for lunch and dinner was very repetitive. We were also not allowed to take any food out from the buffet so each meal had to be a sit down one (even if you wanted a quick snack).... we had no grill available during the day by the beach or pool so now [... read more]here to get a quick snack with the exception of the sports bar which often had not so attractive choices (hot dogs, etc.). The resort would also benefit by having somewhere to get a coffee/latte. They had two machines only, one was out of service the entire week we were there and the other only available while the main buffet was open. The Beach however was incredible, friendly staff and our weather was amazing so it made up for what we were lacking. I would recommend the hotel if someone was looking for a decent affordable place as the beach is incredible, great location to explore Cozumel, plan snorkel and/or scuba diving activities.

Allegro Cozumel: Average Resort .

The resort is isolated as far as shopping or dining out. Approximately $30 USD to take a taxi to town. We booked the premium package which was probably not worth the additional cost. It did get us a room close to the beach and one extra a la cartel booking. The lounge was nice and at the beach with a private pool, but shade was at a premium at this pool. Rooms were nice, although we had to keep a towel over the floor drain in the washroom to block sewer smells. Maintenance came twice and declare [... read more]d the emergency solved- not so- but the towel did work. Food was adequate but certainly not great. The buffets (lunch and dinner) were usually crowded and line ups were normal. These was a first for us. Evening entertainment was nothing special and even repeated one act during our week there. The beach is small but nice. Don’t expect your own space or palapa, too many people. It is a family resort so expect plenty of wee ones, especially on the beach. They don’t seem to use the kids pool but prefer the beach. Snorkelling off the beach is great. Starfish, rays and many varieties of fish are regular sightings. Staff are wonderful and always friendly. We were also disappointed that wifi was not free anywhere on the resort with an y of the packages. For 12 USD per day, we opted to block our contact with the outside world. It did get cheaper if you took the entire week at 56 USD which is still expensive. All things considered, probably won’t return to this resort.

Allegro Cozumel: New Years Fun

Our family of four, with two teenage daughters, stayed at the Allegro Cozumel for one week over New Year’s. We had a wonderful vacation and met many very friendly people. Our girls had a great time participating in the activities offered, especially volleyball on the beach. The staff was always working hard and very friendly. The resort is very pretty with lots of palm trees and greenery. The pools were fun and the beach is nice although the water wasn’t as clear as we expected. The food was [... read more] always good with plenty of options to choose from. The only downside with the food is that there is only one restaurant for lunch. There was always a line up during peak times although it was only about 10 minutes and the food was always good once we got in. We loved going on a snorkelling trip and exploring the island by Jeep one day. The resort did a great job on New Year’s Eve. There was an excellent, special meal at the buffet restaurant and then some really good entertainment with an acrobatic show and a super fun band to ring in 2019. All in all, we experienced a very fun and relaxing vacation!

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Wonderful Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Secrets Aura. The staff was very friendly, especially our bartender, Santiago in the Preferred Lounge. We found the food very tasty, the resort very clean. Our only disapointment was that they did not have nightly entertainment. You'd think an adults only resort would be a little more lively at night.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Again, great resort

This is our second time at Secreats Aura Cozumel, we like that it’s an adult only resort and we wanted to go diving again in Cozumel. Our last saty there was 2 years ago. The food, drinks and room was excellent with a comfortable bed. Loved every minute of our stay!

El Cozumeleno Beach: Great location, poor food

Great location, service and beach. Rooms really dated but clean. Food very poor - food poisoning outbreak during our stay and EVERYONE was ill, many for days. Is hand washing hygiene enforced with the kitchen staff? From what I saw, it isn’t.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Amazing Staff & Tasty Food

Overall a very clean resort. Personally did not like the buffet food, and beaches were very rocky, but staff was great and still had a great time... FOOD & STAFF Staff was amazing, (Victor, Rusbel, Enrique & Maria) as well as front desk staff and ALL bartenders were a pleasure to chat with daily. Sunny Side & El Patio were the best restaurants. We did not try the Italian one since I eat italian food way too much, but overall, food was delicious and many options from the two listed above. Not [... read more] a fan of the buffet for any meal, just found the options were minimal and picked over. ROOM: Stayed in 2031, 3rd floor - Room was cleaned and restocked with non-alcohol beverages daily. Only complaints - one mirror that was in the bathroom which would steam up when showering so bring an extra to do your makeup! Bed was a little on the firm side, so be prepared for some stiffness in the morning. Other than that. The AC worked WONDERS! Better than the one I have back home and the ceiling fan was super quiet. Tiny ant like bugs in the washroom on occasion but barely any. Doors are not insulated very well so you can easily hear conversations of the loud drunks walking by at 2am, but not horrible enough to pay for the upgrade to the “adult pool side” POOL & BEACH: Pools were fairly clean, but overall hard to keep super clean since we had a bit of rain when we went and it was windy. Cool temperatures kept me out of the pool but the activities seemed to bring everyone in to play. The beach was cleaned daily with lots of seating and hammock options, though the waters are ROCKY! Be prepared to walk very slowly or just sit on the edge like i did. Waters were like bath water. Staff would come take drink orders right from the beach too. NOTES: We went dec 17-24 in room 2031 - it is windy and cool at night! Bring a jacket since many restaurants sit outside and entertainment shows are all done by the pool at night (i was freezing!) - rainy days will also call for a jacket as temperatures cool - for a beach that you can actually swim at, rent a scooter (right outside the resort) for $40USD for 24h and go to a spot named “miami beach” (the next beach and bar past the well known rasta beach bar) - bring a mini speaker for the room or beach to listen to your own music, there’s no speaker included in the room - don’t pay for wifi, head to the lobby for free connection and do what you need to, paid wifi apparently had a bad connection said people we met there - this is a small resort so set days for excursions like playa del carmen or downtown cozumel - this is a resort for families (mainly younger kids) or couples, if you are single looking for a party spot, this is not the place Overall we had a great time and would recommend it for a relaxing and lay low trip, we loved everything we ate at Sunny Side and El Patio and LOVED seeing Victor & Rusbel from sunny side and Enrique, and Maria from el patio daily. Occidental Cozumel: Great staff

Smaller resort with really nice grounds. Outdoor entertainment was outside or first block and we had to move. Rooms are 24 per block and set up in a courtyard fashion - you hear everything/everybody. Got super busy/uncomfortable just before Christmas.

Allegro Cozumel: Great trip

This was our second time at the resort this year. Rooms are clean and spacious. Loved the hammock. Good food at the a la carte restaurants. Stayed in building 65 thru the premier upgrade. Close to beach.

Allegro Cozumel: Amazing resort

Wounderfull place people are very friendly. We met the executive chef. Italian restaurant is a must. Drinks were expertly made. Snorkeling right at the resort was great. We did a day trip to a local reef. Check in needs improvement.

Allegro Cozumel: Phenomenal resort!

I simply can not say enough about this place. Super clean, food is delicious, service outstanding. Love the authentic bungalows, everything is very close. I would definitely love to return with my family.

Allegro Cozumel: Nice Relaxing Vacation

We enjoyed our week at the Allegro Cozumel, the grounds were well maintained and kept clean. The maids did a great job, the room was always clean and the fridge was always restocked. The food was good for an all inclusive, I found the oriental alacarte was the best out of the 3. The staff were excellent, they were all friendly and helpful.

Occidental Cozumel: Not a 4+ Star - Needs improvement on the food.

The Occidental Cozumel is a very lush and beautiful resort. The grounds and rooms were beautiful. My husband and I upgraded to the Royal Rooms before our arrival, and the room was excellent with comfortable beds. However, the food in the buffet could be greatly improved.The a la carte restaurants were fine, however, nothing was outstanding. In my opinion, it should not be rated a 4+ Star, as the food needs some major improvements.

Zel Cozumel: First time in Cozumel

This year we decided to go away for my birthday. I have to say it was a very last minute decision. We wanted to go back to Cuba and then as I was talking to my trip central agent, we found this deal for Cozumel. Our flight was on time and no problems. Upon our arrival to Cozumel, once passing security, my husband and I were greeted by this lady telling us to go to this specific counter. We were up since 4 AM and could not wait to get to our final destination. Once at that counter, what we th [... read more]ought was a deal for an excursion, turned out to be ( which we found out the next day) a tentative to sell us time share for vacation. BE AWARE !! These people have nothing to do with the resort nor whoever you purchased your vacation with. Beside that little hiccup, we had an AMAZING time. Would we go back?? For sure.

Zel Cozumel: Lovely

Very friendly staff ! lots of variety food too bad there was no fruit bar. Grounds were nice . check in was acceptable. Very safe , really good staff. Beach was nice when first arrive a lot of seaweed but they cleaned it up .Irma has done a lot of damage to the Caribbean I must say but the water is still blue. Good entertainment shows and the entertainment team was wonderful Carlos and lena were very involved.

Allegro Cozumel: Allegro Cozumel

The resort is small, clean and very quiet. The rooms are updated but walls are paper thin making it difficult to sleep if you are in bed early. Food is ok, not much selection if your not Mexican nationals. Reserving the specialty dinners was difficult, they seemed to have issues with reservations and timing. Date and times we were told were not available, were, to friends who booked a day after we tried to. The beach and water was great. I won't be going back to this resort, was good to try it, gained some understanding. I went to scuba dive, The dive center was good, good service and the dives were great with very experienced dive masters, top rating to Pro Dive Although the rooms are updated and clean, I gave it a fair rating due to the paper thin walls/ceiling where the next door folks can be heard a fair rating
