everything very nice spotless vary large assortment of food ocean not to clean but not a big deal rooms clean entertainment nice pool area clean people very friendly airport questionable i don, t like service and waiting are no drinks no food no duty free

Grand Decameron Panama: Beautiful area

This hotel was huge with lots of stairs which I didn’t mind. The resort was clean well kept with plenty of staff. My husband being a big football fan enjoyed the game on a big screen on the beach. The food was soo good and plenty of selections. There was a language barrier as most of the staff only speak Spanish but we all did our best to understand each other.

Westin Playa Bonita: This is a Hotel Conference Center

The hotel is lovely with a contemporary style. It caters mostly to conferences, it’s quiet with no entertainment only a bar and a lounge to sit and socialize in. When we booked an all inclusive package we were not aware that they offered “standard” and “premium” packages. This is not offered on Trip Central and we were disappointed that we did not have an in room mini bar as well as a la carte dining vouchers. Also we booked this trip 8 months in advance requesting to be adjoining or close to our friends. Upon arrival they placed us on separate floors and made no attempt to honour our request. The hotel was not fully booked during the week, locals book up the hotel on the weekends filling up the buffet restaurants where we had to be sent to a secondary location with the same buffet and crowding the pool areas. The beach was nice with lots of beautiful shells, we did not swim or kayak in the ocean because of the frequent tide changes throughout the day, rocks and dirty water due to the ships being close entering the Panama Canal. Our friend one day got trapped in the elevator for 30 minutes, she kept ringing the emergency button as there was no speaker system in the elevator so someone could let her know it was being fixed. When she was finally assisted out of the elevator she was very distressed and in tears. The manager only offered her a bottled water and asked if she needed medical assistance. She was distressed the remainder of the day, no one approached her to ask how she was feeling. Her travel partner complained several times at the front desk for compensation finally receiving a 20 minute massage the following day at the spa. A couple we met went to book their anniversary dinner at the steak house a la carte and was unable to do so as they closed that restaurant for that evening for a private group upsetting them both. We spoke to many couples who booked the same package as us paying approximately over $2000 per person not expecting a standard package and disappointed that we had to pay extra for premium alcohol such as Bailey’s, Smirnoff, etc. The excursions were great and we enjoyed them. It was cheaper to book through the concierge desk with local tour companies. Due to no entertainment or shows in the evenings it was boring with nothing to do. We did expect a higher standard of service that’s why we chose The Westin along with its location being close to tourist areas. The entrance grounds were not kept up, no gardens at the entrance. Hallway walls were beat up and railing dismantled in one elevator with sharp edge. It’s best to book ocean view because in forest view rooms there are lots of mosquitos that will come into your room which ate up a guests legs after one night. This guest was extremely upset with all the bites on both legs only receiving cream from staff to apply. The buffets were ok with themed dinners. The steak and Asian a la carte restaurants were fabulous! Overall we were not happy with the service at The Westin Playa Bonita and will not return or recommend this hotel. We made the most of it, enjoyed our excursions and the pool. We’ve stayed at Riu’s for the same price and had premium packages with exceptional customer service. Unfortunately we were all disappointed with our stay and the poor level of service received.

Dreams Playa Bonita Panama: Panama

We really enjoyed our stay at Dreams Playa Bonita Resort. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are comfortable with ocean views. The resort is well laid out and never felt crowded, we were always able to get seats by the pool. LOVED the option of A La Carte dinners and the food was top notch!

Radisson Decapolis: Nice hotel, excellent location

We enjoyed our stay at Radisson Decapolis. Clean rooms, good facilities, friendly staff, excellent service. I would stay here again, and would recommend it to my friends. The location is very convenient, adjacent to Multicentro, Casino, short walk to Cinta Costera

Grand Decameron Panama: Not very kid friendly

This was our second time at the Royal Decameron Panama. We found it very clean and well maintained. Problems were it was not very kid friendly. Food was sub par as well. People were very friendly and staff were great. Hotel needs to invest in more shade umbrellas. The sun is very hot and we felt there were not enough umbrellas for shade. It was tough for the kids to be exposed all day in the sun.

Grand Decameron Panama: Tips & Tricks

This is the perfect stay if you do not require extra bells & whistles. Yes, a lot of walking (to wear off the food)so bring several comfortable sandals. If you prefer less walking consider purchasing a lower level room. If you have any concerns, go to the Transat desk and they will do everything to try to accommodate you. We were not happy with our 2 double beds, but changed us to a single King bed the same day. A+ Food was pretty good, just not really hot - more like lukewarm unless you got it  [... read more]from the grill. If you need a beach/pool chair, put your towel on at 6am or earlier. They book quickly and there is no resort rule about saving chairs. It was a little confusing about what restaurants are open at what times. It would be helpful if they posted them outside each restaurant. If you're travelling with a group of 6+, consider inquiring about gold bands as they give you more privileges and cost WAY less in Canada than down there in US $. For the average traveller, in my opinion, is not needed.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great Time !

This was our first time in Panama and at the Riu Playa Blanca. Weather was fantastic the resort was clean and staff were very hard working and very attentive. Service in the restaurants was very good. The rooms were clean, we had an issue with our lock box and the Manager came up right away to fix the problem. Food was fresh especially the seafood, steak was not on par with a good steakhouse in Canada but besides that, food and beverages were very good especially the coffee which make Tim Ho [... read more]rtons crap in comparison. The Sunwing staff were also very helpful and would definitely recommend Panama and the resort.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great resort

We had a great time at the Riu. It’s not a massive resort like others that requires a tram or walk a mile to get anywhere. The resort and beach were very clean. The best thing was the short walk to the beach from our room. It was nice not to have reservations for the restaurants. The steakhouse the best, I loved my ribeye. Also love the jungle boat tour, it was a bit of a drive to get there but totally worth it. Will definitely return!! Bijao Beach Resort: Good place

The overall stay was satisfactory and the food was great. Great location close to the small airport. Only 10 minutes drive to the resort. The airport not equipped with duty free and all facilities like a restaurant.

Grand Decameron Panama: Lovely stay at Decameron

Wonderful relaxing 4th stay at the hotel..staff were friendly, room very clean and good food. Found the entertainment a little loud but all in all a good time had by all. Would recommend to take a cushion for the beach lounge chairs they are not very comfortable.

Westin Playa Bonita: Amazing resort

Hotel was beautiful service excellent all done with a smile the staff is very knowledgeable and pools were clean and refreshing Rooms were comfy and clean We definitely want to come back Again sometime soon

Grand Decameron Panama: Great resort but greatly disappointed as well!!

This was our 4th trip to this resort. It did not disappoint in the food, accommodation, cleanliness, service or golf. It did however disappoint in the newly created upgraded areas. We lost access to our favorite pool and lobby bar. We were not told of this at the time of booking but found it when we arrived. Had we known, we would have definitely upgraded. To upgrade there, it was outrageously expensive. If we had of done this when we booked, it would have been a fraction of the cost. We did c [... read more]ontact our travel agent for assistance and she told us to speak to the Transat representative on site. They were no help either. However, other travel agents made it right for their clients and the upgrade was provided to them. Good for them but not for us. This resort has created some big problems with this new upgrade area. It is highly under utilized and creating over crowding in other areas. Cleanliness is becoming a problem in the pools and lazy river waterways. Will we return for the 5th time? Sadly I am really not sure.

The resort nice, it certainly isn't a luxury resort but certainly a good value. It is Panama and you need to understand that. Have been going for 10 years and so much enjoy it. The golf is great. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

This travel deal is not worth the money. There is a real language barrier unless you speak Spanish . The lodging needs some serious upgrading. One key (an actual key) per room. An extra one is available for $15 but be sure and keep your receipt or no refund! No coffee machines in the rooms and the safes are an additional $3 a day . Housekeeping was satisfactory. Radisson Decapolis: Great hotel

Very nice hotel, great service. My extra bed was uncomfortable and they switched it for me no problem. Beautiful outdoor pool with a hot tub and chairs to lie down on. There is also a shaded area for those who don't want to be in the direct sun.

Grand Decameron Panama: Must try

It was a great vacation. Definately different from the same old same old. Rooms were nice and no musty smells. Food was good and plentiful. Beach was nice and enough pools to please everyone. Not all crowded. Only downfall here was english is hard to come by. Some knowledge of French or spanish for restaurants would benefit for simple things like salt, pepper ketchup. There are shuttles as well though. There is a little restaurant off the resort and across the road, maybe a five minute walk, called La Fogata, they speak english. I would recommend doing one dinner there. Cost was cheap. $75.00 for what would cost easily over &150.00 at home. Great time was had.

Riu Playa Blanca: Clean well maintained resort.

The public grounds are kept very clean. The food was fantastic, the staff was very helpful and pleasant, the rooms for the most part kept clean, the entertainment was good, it needs a bit of improvement. The weather was fantastic. A great place to be if your looking for time to relax.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great Resort

I have stayed at a few Riu resorts in different countries, and although I did not find this one to be as fancy as most, it was still a great place to stay. It was a more modern look, but still elegant. Food and service were excellent, The resort was clean and easy to get around. Everything was conveniently located. Beach was really nice closer to the hotel, but near the shore it was dark and not as warm as I like. Very close to the airport. Overall great hotel. I would definitely recomme [... read more]nd it.

Riu Playa Blanca: Beautiful resort

The Riu Playa Blanca was a beautiful resort with awesome weather. The food was amazing with always something to eat. Rooms and showers very nice and clean. Beach was ok it’s panama. Depending on where your room is it’s a lot of walking up and down the stairs for they only have elevators in the lobby and that could be a problem for someone who has a room on the 5th and 6th floor. It’s very small once you went through c [... read more]ustoms there wasn’t enough seats or chairs for people to sit so people were sitting all over on the dirty floor it was super hot in there where it was at the point people passing out from the heat for there was no water in the vending machine it was empty of course and our plane was delayed people were sweating and starting to smell from the heat. Hundreds of people packed into a little space sitting on the floor and they were not happy. I’m sure there will be a lot of complaints and disappointment from this airport it’s not set up for 2 flights going out. It was ridiculous.
