Melia Braco Village: Melia Braco Village - Jamaica

We booked with Westjet vacations, 7 ladies. We all wanted to be close together and requested this at booking in November but we ended up with 3 rooms in separate villas, the oceanfront view and closeness to the water and beach were magnificent. Some of the people are great and helpful and enthusiastic (Homroy, Vinessa (love you), Dezine, Warren (thanks for the food tips)!!) Sharone thanks for your smiles and all the coffee!! and yet some look very unhappy to be there...Food management, give the  [... read more]girl making the omelettes some help please in the morning...long line ups with just 1 person each day! Same with the hamburgers at lunchtime at the Market. Other food management issues, the tables are not set up properly, constantly asking for coffee, cups, cutlery, salt/pepper etc. This should all be ready before we are seated. Happened for each meal all day long. So weird!, do you not have enough tableware? A suggestion to have a coffee station/bar setup for walkups in the morning for self service. Instead of carrying all those plates, there should be trolleys to help out the staff. Also, what is with the lack of butter, jam and keeping the buffet supplemented....really at 8 am and 12 noon there should not be empty platters!! Salsa chips with no salsa or guacamole around, just a lumpy cheese sauce. Very confusing for vegans as the signs state dairy free and dairy on the same one so which is it! And the bread all being made with butter, eggs and milk....should be more vegan options clearly marked. The restaurants well....Rasta Pasta, such a long wait and the food not that good, how can you go wrong with pasta. Did not go to the Steak restaurant. The Asian Fusion was ok but a lot of things on the menu were not available when you ordered (so why are they on the menu!) Jamaica and Beach Nights were good but food ran out quickly. The Grill was good but by 12:15 pm there was no jerk chicken and you had to wait another hour....seriously this is the #1 staple in Jamaica, they had great fries. 3 mornings in a row I would walk out to find dishes upon dishes outside my doorway area from someones room service still with some plastic wrap left on the stair walkway area! This needs to be looked at as people would dump all their dishes outside and then the cats would make a mess of everything left over during the night. I believe the whole Food Management of this resort needs to be seriously overhauled!! One of the worst experiences of all the many resorts I have attended. Also, not enough staff on the beach for drinks and long waits for everything! Again, a trolley would greatly assist. This is a great place and could be so much better with better supervision of staff and facilities. The beach pathway from the Market to the Villas is in dire need of repair, many a stubbed toe walking along this path. And what is with the towels and cards and no cards....really should all work with the bracelet...we received no towel cards at check in and were ok going back and forth for a few days and then on the 3rd day they asked for cards???of course we did not have them and the towel hut guy did not wish to give us towels....seriously!! Went to the office to complain and they stated towel cards were not available and we should be able to get towels without them....COMMUNICATION everyone...#1 basic thing at a resort is towels for the beach. Also the double beds in the rooms need to be upgraded to queens! There were 3 of us in a 2 double bed room and it was a tight fit for 3 adults. All in all a good vacation but there are a few things I would like to see made better before I would return, there are nicer and better resorts for less money out there on other islands. If you like cats then this place has a lot of them wandering around everywhere. Also, even though this is an all inclusive, tips are needed and expected for everything, cleaning room staff, bartenders, services, everyone! Grounds were nice but not great. Beach was nice, but garbage left around in bags by the walkways, some not cleared up for a few days. There was minimal seaweed. Some of the bathrooms need constant attention, lack of tp. A great little resort but needs some much needed TLC.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Had a great time

It was an amazing 4 days trip to Melia resort. Every staff member were not only courteous but very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean, all the amenities and services were flawless. All the restaurants were great specially the market place. The pools were clean and were great for kids and all family members. The beach were clean and spectacular to swim or for walk. I will definitely will come again and will highly recommend to my friends and family. Thank you for such a great experience.

Melia Braco Village: Amazing Resort!

This is a beautiful resort with outstanding restaurants, beautiful grounds and fantastic customer service. This was our second trip to the Melia Braco and we can't wait to make it a third. If you can, I suggest you upgrade to the Level. This is the premium side of the resort with ocean front rooms, an enormous hot tub, lovely pools and an exclusive beachfront outdoor restaurant. No need to get here early to hold your spot on the beach. The entertainment at the resort was very well done (too bad the piano man is not there any more). The jerk chicken and pork are outstanding at this resort and the steak restaurant is fantastic! We had a couple of issues with our room initially but thanks to the hard working staff and the especially the help of Gloria (guest relations manager) it was corrected. If you're looking for a great resort with awesome food and beautiful beach look no further! We will be back this year.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Above Standard

The Melia Nassau was as advertised and more. Not only did they deliver on food quality, white sandy beach, numerous pools and prompt courteous service it was all meticulously clean and staffed by courteous friendly and efficient people who took time to talk to us personally. The restaurants on site continued the wonderful service and friendliness and the food served was outstanding for a four star resort. The turtle exhibit and flamingos were absolutely enjoyable and quite unique. We toured the casino and supplemented our dining at Fi Lia restaurant. I recommend the seafood stew. The resort made sure there was lots of towels for beach and pools and that there were plenty of activities planned for all ages.The transfers from and to the airport were smooth and timely. We flew West Jet from Ottawa and despite a weather delay on return airport staff and plane crew couldn’t have been more courteous and helpful. We plan to return next year.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Amazing Resort

We had a great time at this resort. The staff was very friendly, excellent service at the bars and restaurants. The bartenders Luciano and Efrain were amazing. Very attentive and entertaining, they kept your drinks filled. The resort was kept very clean, including the public restrooms. Thanks for a great vacation!

Paradisus Punta Cana: Under Renovations Do not book

The grounds were amazing and the beach and pool was great, but the reason we booked this location was they advertised 11 restaurants and a buffet with very few reservations required. What we found was the restaurants were under renovations and only three were open a day. All required booking in advance. The buffet was very small and even that changed locations. The staff was not helpful and tried to avoid discussing where there was food available because they themselves didn’t know. Melia Braco Village: Inviting and cozy!

Melia Braca was indeed a village. The set up was pleasing to the eye. The two storey buildings scattered on lush grounds, which were relatively easy to navigate upon arriving. Rooms were nicely updated. Our room in particular was PERFECT for my elderly mother since it took us steps to the lovely beach. We received mixed information re daily towels. Service was extremely hit and miss. Most of the staff were super upbeat and friendly, which made up for spotty service. Jamaican night and beach night were nice.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Very clean

Beautiful grounds, well maintained public areas, helpful friendly staff, comfortable lobby area and a beach where you can walk for miles. We really enjoyed our stay. The perfect place to wind down and relieve stress.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Very nice resort

We absolutely loved this resort. It doesn’t have your typical a la crate‘a. You don’t need any reservations for them and no limit either. Dress code was much nicer for men as well. You can wear shorts and golf shirt with sandals. Unlike most were men have to wear long pants and closed toe shoes. The resort was well kept and clean. Entertainment at night was so fun. Staff was wonderful. I would return to this resort

Clean rooms with great service. The food was really good and so was the choice of restaurants...the buffet was really well stocked and fresh. Great staff and the ground were kept very tidy. This is an excellent resort for the cost.

Zel Cozumel: Best Vacation and Resort Ever

Melia Cozumel was an amazing resort. We found it very clean, comfortable. WE loved the small and intimate size of Melia. Food was so delicious and well prepared. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had fun with all the activities that were offered. The evening shows were amazing. My favourite was the Valentine's day show. I hope to return to Melia Cozumel one day. I would definitely recommend the res8rt to my friends and family.

Zel Cozumel: Valentine's Week at Melia

Stayed at Melia Cozumel the second week of February (our second time visiting here) and we had another wonderful time. The weather was great, the beach was really nice and the service was top notch. The tower rooms are quite large - we had one on the 5th floor with a small kitchenette and table with four chairs, and an excellent view of the beach, incoming and outgoing cruise ships, and the Playa Del Carmen across the straight. The wind was blowing mainly from the east, so the turtle grass [... read more] washing up on shore was not an issue this week. If the breeze is from the north it does wash up, however the landscapers rake the beach at 6:00am so it was really should not be an issue. Lots of chairs and plenty of shade available. The beach is very walkable, especially to the north. It's much, much nicer than the beach in front of the adjacent hotel to the south, however if you have water shoes to cushion your feet from the pebbles and reef, you can hike along the beach for about a mile to the south. The food was plentiful and good, with something for everyone, so If you go hungry, it's your own fault. One observation was that the options at the buffet were sometimes just warm, never piping hot. The omelette and grilling stations were always fresh, hot and delicious. Being able to eat with an ocean view was great, as the buffet and beach restaurant are directly on the beach. Skip the Italian a la carte - it's just not that good. The International (Paraiso) restaurant was the best of the three with the fresh salmon and mahi-mahi entrees both excellently prepared. The service was excellent. Don't forget to tip the restaurant waiters (interestingly, all men) the bartenders (Antonio at the pool bar, and Abril who served the Bali Bed section - both excellent) and the maids. They all hustle. One negative was that they never once got the restocking of the mini-fridge as we requested, even after speaking with the concierges almost daily. I ended up just grabbing 6 bottles of water from the premium desk each day. Overall a great vacation. We are planning to return with the adult kids and grandkids next time!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Relaxing family vacation!

Our family spent one week here in February and had a great time! The beach was beautiful! We really enjoyed taking long walks down it. The food was great at the buffet, many different choices, so the kids always ate well. The pool area was great for the kids! The staff was helpful and friendly. Only downfalls about the resort would be having to ask for water and mini fridge restocking. Most days they forgot to do our room. Our room was a walk out on the main floor. It was spacious enough for us, [... read more] even with the cot between the two beds. It was however, very dated. Pretty sure it was the original hotel. They should renovate this area. Definitely get rid of the carpet in the hallways! All and all, a great vacation. Close bus ride to the airport, downtown area and even paradise island. We will visit again!

Zel Cozumel: Amazing service

Cozumel Melia is a very well kept resort. The grounds are clean as are the two pools. The pool without the poolbar in our opinion is actually kept too warm! It is heated not giving you a refreshed or cooled off feeling underthe hot sun. Bartenders at all bar are fast friendly and knowledgeable! Only draw back with the resort is its location. Although only seven minutes from the airport it is located 150 yards from a cement pier which disablesthe natural flow of water in that direction. This resu [... read more]lts in often merky water close to and sometimes further out from shore. On the other side of the pier the water is crystal clear Carribean blue and good snorkeling! We stayed in a room on the oceanfront ground floorwith spa tub on patio..not used by most.. nothing more than a selling upgrade enticement. Nice to walk out of room to beach however the view from floors above are as good or better without the higher premium cost. Check-in was personal private comfortable informative and nicley air conditioned with a cold drink offered when booking Royal and premium suites. Ask for service and you will get it..but dont expect it if you dont. For example more water, ice, and beer in room

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful resort!

Our family vacation at Melia was fabulous. The resort is clean, the rooms are beautiful, the food is great. The beach is amazing. My grandchildren loved the Splash Park. We all did!!! I spent an afternoon at the spa, it was lovely and so relaxing.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Wonderful staff

Beautiful resort, excellent restaurants, generally quick service. My husband uses a walker and found it difficult to get around. When we called for golf cart, several times we had to wait a long time or had to call because the dispatcher forgot. Sandro and Edgar were very helpful when they got the call. More variety needed in Rumba buffet.

The resort and the grounds were beautiful. The food at the buffets was good however the hot items were on the cooler side on most days. Having upgraded to the Level was nice as we could eat all three meals a la carte. The bars all had a really nice selection of premium alcohols. Some staff were friendly and helpful and others not so much...it was pretty much a 50/50 split. The pools and the beach were nice. I would recommend this resort to a friend only if they were looking for some quiet time. We prefer a bit more buzz!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: The best time!

Hotel was well maintained. Food was delicious. A la carte restaurants were superb. Drinks were plentiful. Service was great. Room was clean and spacious. Beach was incredible! Always managed to find a lounger on the beach or by the pool. I will definitely be returning to the Melia again! Loved it.

Paradisus Cancun: Another great stay at Paradisus Cancun!

Just returned from a one week stay, Feb 2-9th and were not disappointed. This our 3rd stay and the first time for our friends who we travelled with. They loved it and were impressed with how clean the resort is kept, the amazing staff, the beautiful lobby, location and the hotel in general. Everyone works so hard to make a favorable impression and it truly shows. Also Augustin who got people involved in the daily activities..even Finger Painting! 😁 The only thing we would like to see is a great Italian ala carte restaurant / wooden oven pizza. Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Amazing Resort - Not too big!

I enjoyed this resort totally - she grounds were superb. the short walk to the beach was great. The staff was amazingly friends and I would recommend this resort to anyone. The pool was great and the service was excellent.
