Hedonism II: Awesome Resort

We stayed for 10 days which flew by . The staff are amazing as is the food and service . The entertainment is incredible .Our room was great and was newly renovated . The CEO is usually around and very personable . We have made many friends from our visit to this resort from all around the world . We are looking forward to returning there .

Couples Sans Souci: Wonderful Resort!

I would describe this resort an a tropical medieval castle, with multi levels of the stone walls and steps surrounded by dense lush tropical trees. It was generally quite peaceful.The staff were always very friendly and willing to help in any way. We were disappointed with the beach, as the sand was hard and had debris on it. We really enjoyed the mineral pool and smoothie bar.

Riu Montego Bay: Riu Montego Bay

I love the resort because it's the first time I went to a resort. I can't believe there were so many varieties of food and the dishes were very tasty. I really enjoyed the food. Unlimited alcohol beverages and I drank a lot as well. I really had a good time. I wish I knew how to swim so I could have enjoyed the pool and the beach a little more. I would like to emphasize that all the workers at Riu are very respectable and they all value their job seriously. None were disrespectful!

Riu Negril: Ok

Food was ok. Sports bar food was horrible. A fridge with tuna sandwiches is not a vacation. Water in pool bar was disgusting. Not enough bars or washrooms. Pool areas not clean enough. The driver of the bus to return to airport was insane. Doing 110km on winding roads was unacceptable. 4 people threw up on the bus.

Breathless Montego Bay: Breathless Montego Bay- Interesting concept with poor execution and sloppy delivery

I visited Breathless Montego Bay with my partner at the start of May 2017. I understand the resort is in a "soft opening" and has only been open for about two months. I chose this resort for its proximity to the airport (15 minute bus in light traffic), access to Secrets next door (about a 5 minute walk to a restaurant or the beach), and a good experience at Breathless in Punta Cana. Breathless Montego Bay did not live up to my expectations and I would not go back unless many changes were made.  [... read more] The Resort: The resort is small (only 150 rooms) but beautiful. Clearly the resort is trying to minimize offerings and bridge off of Secrets next door- the system for doing this just hasn't been arranged well and established. The technology in the rooms is impressive but not terribly well planned (i.e. trying to figure out which of the many buttons is the light for the toilet in the dark). The room was perhaps the nicest I've been in but I worry that it may not last long as the idea was nice but the quality of workmanship is sloppy. Air conditioning was great but temp control was inconsistent. I really liked the control of the light colours and dimness in the room. Hot tub was great! You could sometimes hear the music from outside in the room (especially the saxophone one night). Parts of the resort were obviously very hastily built (i.e. paint coming off in the shower, paint spills from sloppy painting, no heat in the hot tubs outside). There was an active stream of water through several ceilings one rainy day- including one stream above the bar through a light fixture. The Breathless beach was small but beautiful and generally not crowded. There are a lot of rocks in the shallow water so be prepared to hear people yell "Ow! Ow! Ow!" as they try to get in the water. There was no waiter on the beach until the 6th day we were there. The bathroom at the beach is not properly lit and it was always a bit disconcerting to use the facilities when you can’t see anything. Staff and Entertainment: Staff was not friendly compared to other resorts I have been to- in fact I felt completely unwanted and unwelcome at times. I saw numerous cases where staff were rude to vacationers (including myself) and many cases where they just failed to meet the basic requests (i.e. I asked for a bowl or cup rather than a cone for ice cream and was told no and immediately dismissed). I think menus must be expensive because I witnessed many staff scold customers to “make sure you return that to the bin” (menu at the bar that was currently being used… at the bar), or “don’t get the menu wet”. Entertainment was awkward (a small team of people that would typically just dance amongs themselves) and mediocre. The circus act at Secrets and Breathless was great, but the regular entertainment team failed to find a purpose. Housekeeping was always consistent and friendly when I saw them in the halls. Maintenance failed to resolve a simple issue with our safe after more than 3 hours of attempting to get them to come (including arranging a specific time for them to come at their convenience- they did not show). I eventually fixed the problem myself and received no apology or sympathy. Communication about daily events and which restaurants were open or randomly closed for certain days of the week (and their various names) was lacking. It was clear that this resort could be much more organized and a major improvement in customer service is needed. Access to Secrets and Hard Rock was not really explained and we kind of struggled to gather this information on our own. The Food: The food at both Breathless and Secrets was by far the best I’ve had at any resort. We ate at Breathless and Secrets and I can say I was impressed with the quality and assortment of foods at both resorts. The restaurant staff was more accommodating in general (not always) and had much better customer service skills than reception staff and the bar staff. The beach restaurant was great and staff was amazing although they often did not have almost 50% of the menu offerings available. The music: I like EDM and techno. The first day was fine but by the end I felt like I was being hypnotized by the monotonous and irritating music. This is not where the party was at. I enjoyed the variety of music that you could hear from Hard Rock at the Breathless beach.

Riu Montego Bay: Good resort

The hotel was nice and pool area was very nice...i just fid not like the beach found it not very clean and water not that clear...the entertainment staff were fantastic. Overall was a very nice hotel

Royalton Blue Waters: Blue Waters did not disappoint!

Our first trip to a Royalton was two years ago. We stayed at the White Sands. After spending a good but not great trip to another resort in the same area last year we returned Royalton Blue Waters this year to check out the new addition and were not disappointed. The hotel is new so not a lot to say other than we did not have AC the first two nights. That was rectified and we had an overall amazing experience. Having access to the White Sands property, recreation, restaurants, etc was a bonus. T [... read more]he food was great. Lots of options for parents and kids alike. The beach areas were clean and the service was good. Our butler Carla was amazing!!! I have and will continue to recommend this property and Jamaica as a whole as a wonderful destination option for families.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Satisfying vacation

I got this package for a "deal", so our room in the Luxury part of a hotel was facing the noisy road with no-muffler motorcycles and cars constantly driving on, especially could hear them at night, so we had our balcony closed most of the time. The shower stall was not draining, so no long showers. We told about the plugged drain to a few people on the staff, but nothing was done. The Luxury part of a beach did not have enough shaded loungers, so was the situation around the pool. We would ha [... read more]ve to get up early to reserve the seats, because around lunch time it was impossible to find any shaded spots. But I have "enough" early mornings during my workdays and we like to sleep in during our vacations, so we just had to walk to distant part of Grand Bahia to find shaded loungers. The food was very good, the staff in restaurants very helpful. The trips were organized nicely. The Luxury part of this resort is suitable for younger people who do not mind the noise of "happy" vacationers. Overall atmosphere was very positive and upbeat. Would we go back? Most likely not, we would want to experience different style of resorts.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Great resort!

Not your top notch but clean rooms, great oceanviews, close to the hip strip and wonderful staff and good food. Would recommend this resort to friends. Had an amazing vacation!! Top floor ocean view rooms are the best views.

Sandals Dunn's River: Quaint and beautiful!

This resort is about creating a unique and memorable experience for guests as only the Jamaican people can do. Comfortable rooms, lush gardens and friendly, accommodating staff complete the experience .

Jewel Paradise Cove: Beautiful resort, great staff

The hotel was beautiful and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and the beach was nice! Lots of activities were available to keep you entertained and off site excursions were easy to book. The food was delicious! I had a wonderful stay overall!

Jewel Paradise Cove: Best time of my life

Everything is amazing there, the food, the grounds, the staff. I felt well taken care of. Never hungry or bored. The resort was never crowded, I always found a chair. I loved the small beach. I felt like a mermaid in the jade water. The water was so clean and clear, that you could see the bottom. Love love love this place. Lots of Canadians there I truly felt at home. This resort deserves all the repeat business they​ get, and they get lots

Melia Braco Village: Amazing Resort

This was our first time in Jamaica. We have no complaints after spending a week at the Melia Braco Village. The resort was amazing. Clean rooms, friendly staff, we used the Buffet for breakfast and lunch and were never disappointed they changed up some of the dishes on a daily basis. The 4 restaurants we tried in the evenings were really good food too - did not need to reserve, got seated straight away and friendly staff. Entertainment every night. Sunscape Splash: Clean, Pleasant Resort, but not without its failings.

While the resort was clean, and the staff were pleasant, we were disappointed that several of the restaurants did not open at all and/or were only open one night of the entire week. Our rooms were not as promised, and when we attempted to resolve it, they wanted to charge us an additional $700 USD to "upgrade" to the rooms we originally booked. A phone call to our AMAZING tripcentral travel agent Sarah-Jean and all was resolved, and we were moved to our proper rooms....however it took thre [... read more]e days for this to happen! They hold "towel cards" like hostages, and it is nearly impossible to get them - however you absolutely CANNOT get a towel for the pool or beach without one, so if you happen to forget your towel cards up in your room, prepare to pack up your entire family to go back up and get them (says the frustrated mother of four children as the disinterested towel Nazi watches me struggle). Our children adored the water slides, and finding hermit crabs, starfish, sea urchins and barracuda in the beach shallows was a popular favorite for our crew! Beautiful pictures were taken, and fun times were had by all despite the difficulties we encountered. We were always full, although the buffet being the only restaurant the majority of the time became repetitive for certain. Not a 4.5 star as promised - probably a 3 star at best.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Awesome resort

2nd time at this Resort, the food was very delicious as usual, lots of Jamaican dishes to choose from. The staff at IBEROSTAR ROSE HALL BEACH makes the difference at this resort, Stringbean, Angel, Chocolate and all the other entertainment staff is just amazing and wonderful people. Sandrnee at the front desk, you are the best, what an amazing, helpful and kind person you are. The bar tenders are the best I have seen compare to other resorts I have visited. The rooms at this resort is very d [... read more]ated and very damp, needs major upgrading. Washrooms needs brighter lights and fan.

Dreams Rose Hall: Beautiful Family Resort

Very clean and extremely helpful staff; We initially had a problem with the our room on the ground floor (requested full ocean front) but the an outdoor restaurant partially blocked our view including the heavy guest traffic walking by to the beach was uncomfortable. After three nights we were transferred to the 6th floor of full ocean view which was great. The entire resort was a pleasure to stay at; we would definitely return.

Beaches Negril Resort and Spa: Beaches Negril

One of the best vacations we have ever had! The water park was smaller then the other two locations but service was spot on. We traveled with a 6 year old and he loved Pirate Island and the slides. Kim worked with us from the very beginning and was always available to answer our many questions! We did have to use the medical facilities there and were well cared for. Food was fantastic with lots of great options. We were so happy with the vacation that we rebooked for next year!

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: It,s deff an amazing resort

We loved iberostar suites staff where very friendly polite food at the buffet was excellent we tried five resturant s there they also where excellent Italian japenes French where fantastic entertainment was good and funny more live would be good that is the only thing if I have to say negative they could work on entertainment more staff by the pool and all the activities where also great I rank this resort very high our son is 23 came with us he had agreat time great resort for all ages

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing resort!!

Entire stay was great. Resort was amazing-everything was clean and well maintained. Food service left nothing for you to want for-selection, variety and quality were great. Pools, activities, entertainment were awesome. The staff of the resort really made our vacation memorable, they really went out of their way to make our stay special. We had my daughter's wedding there and it was perfect. The wedding planner was so helpful in making everything perfect.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: What a view!

The views from the Luxury ( buildings 25,26,27) are amazing! The arrival and check in: transfer from airport took a couple hours because we waited on the bus for an hour before everyone was on. The trip was an hour and they had beer for sale on bus. No bathroom so we stopped at a hotel as we dropped someone off. Check in: Air Canada took us to a different part of lobby to do our own check in, unfortunately there were 30 people and you couldn't hear so people just started gabbing their own keys,  [... read more]they should have just given everyone a drink to calm them down and welcome them to hotel ( just saying). Food: all good. Bars: lobby bar great atmosphere, sunset bar (martini bar on the water to watch sun set, oh ya no dry vermouth to make a real martini, just all flavoured martinis), pool bar ran out of ice each day and bartenders constantly running up and down stairs to get bottles from part of bar on the deck side ( I'd suggest having bottles at both spots, lol). Service: hit and miss, some excellent servers who acknowledge people by eye contact others who need some customer service training. Way too many waiting with their hand out - tip or not the service didn't change ( btw We tipped 30 US at dinner one night because the service was amazing and she didn't imply she was looking for a tip). Daily entertainment: good. Other: beach party in the afternoon was a blast! Memorable moment: hotel manager in full suit wading into the pool handing out ice cream to everyone in the water! Overall beautiful resort, very clean, nice beach, golf down the road was fun, some staff amazing some need work. Oh ya remember you are in Jamaica and it called for rain everyday and yet it didn't rain once (April 10- 17) . And finally, you are in Jamaica so relax and enjoy your vacation - if you have a bad time there is only one person to blame...
