Ocean Coral and Turquesa: It could be better!

Well, it is not a 5* resort. It is more like 3*. I should get a luxury room with an ocean view. I got a huge room for 5 people, which was stinking very badly. Of course I couldn't sleep in such a stench so they moved me to a small quite comfortable room without the stench. None of these rooms had a sea view. This resort was very peaceful and quiet. The room service was slow and the people taking care of the resort were always expected tips for anything they did. The food was not the best. Y [... read more]ou had the impression that you were eating dishes that were made a few days earlier. In fact, only fruits and vegetables were fresh, the rest was not. Overall, I bought a very expensive multi-day vacation that was not worth the money and was very disappointing. I don't think I would go on such a vacation again and certainly not to this resort...

Hotel Castillo Huatulco: The resort was value for the dollar

We took it solely because we were meeting friends and the price was good. The food was adequate but not somewhere we would stay looking for three meals per day. The breakfast was boring and same everyday but enough to get you to lunch. Dinner was terrible for the two nights we are there. Staff great. It suited our needs but not if your looking for an all inclusive for a week

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Awesome service!

From the get go top notch service at breakfast,lunch or dinner. Wait staff was phenomenal. Facility was impeccably clean and our room had a spectacular view. Highly recommend! Food at buffet and a la carte was very good to excellent. We will use the Riu brand again.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: We had great weather!

The weather, beach and ocean was really great. I also enjoyed the quiet pools. The hotel itself was just okay for me. The room was very large and looked very tidy. I had problems with my sliding doors, that never really close properly and were hard to open and close. Also my door wouldn't always lock automatically so I would have to check it all the time. I did not find the employees very friendly or even happy.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Good resort

I thought the restaurants were great , service was amazing I was disappointed we didn't arrive to the resort until 8pm because our shuttle dropped off quite a few people before arriving to our resort. Check out was at 12 pm which was fine but I thought we could use services until we had to leave at 4. It's kind of a rip off because you loose a day traveling there and half a day due to check out yet you have to pay for 7 full days.

Catalonia Yucatan: Wouldn't go back.

If you have already booked this resort, I doubt you'll love it, but you'll be fine. We booked last minute for some much needed sunshine, and we certainly got it. There was sunshine, warm pool temperatures, nicely manicured grounds and comfortable beds. I'm surprise to read reviews that say the food is good and the beach is beautiful...neither of those is true in my opinion. The beach is VERY rocky, but we knew that going in. We ended up walking to the marina a few nights to have dinner out. Also the resort is about a 90 minute drive from the airport, if that makes a difference for some. I have been to many AI resorts throughout the years and I would say this one would be at the bottom of the list for me.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Family Vacation

We traveled to this resort at the end of January with my husband and 5 year old Daughter. This is an Excellent Family Resort and Excellent value for what you get! Yes the Rooms are out dated but they are spacious and Clean! There are areas within the resort that have been renovated. The one downside is that it is Not Beach front but we did know that when we booked but its not a far walk or Trolly ride! Excellent Food and service! Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: A few hiccups but otherwise good

Check in took very long . Not from a lack of staff but the process. Once checked in we got a room that was already occupied , how that happens.. I have no idea !! Next morning we toured around the grounds and were happy the hotel was clean and well kept . My kids loved the water park . I did find slides marked low intensity seemed a little too fast for my 8 year old . Food was great . Hunters steakhouse definitely a must to eat at. I never had any problems getting into restaurants. Riu Yucatan: Can't go wrong

The grounds are well keot and everything is within close proximity. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pools and beach are great and the service is good. I have been at this resort 4 times now and I keep going back because it is a great place!!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Mexico is the place

Royal Decameron Clean, lovely beach, good food, good drinks great service, pools are really nice, excellent choice. Bucerias is a nice funky town to be in with lots of options for shopping, art, food and music

Grand Sunset Princess: Big & Busy Resort

Overall decent resort. It’s massive and gets busy on change over days. Lots of pools, bars, and activities for everyone. The food and a la carts get the job done. There were lots of free hand pours for drinks. The downsides are the coatis who are cute for a day and then get annoying. We also encountered alot of cockroaches one day outside our room. The staff must have sprayed and never told us. Never really saw them afterwards though.

Allegro Playacar: Amazing Resort

Beautiful garden with Cenote like jungle holes right in there ( one just at the entrance to the parking lot, another behind the Theatre). Beautiful beach with a view of Cozumel Island in a distance. Nice clean pool, comfortable rooms in a cabana like setting ( not a 15 story building!!) Close to downtown Playa Carmen and ferry. Outstanding friendly staff, delicious food offered at the buffet all day long ( we haven’t been to a la carte restaurant- sign in line was too long). We took a tour to [... read more] Chichtzen Itza ($150 a person from TransAt representative at the hotel- highly recommended, and went to Cozumel on our own- taxi $10 one way + $ 35/ person for return ferry. PlayaCar feels very safe but because of its hightened security ( entrance gates, police and military presence ) we’ve got a (perhaps misleading feeling) that anywhere outside is not safe! We have had a very nice time!

Las Brisas Huatulco: Beautiful resort

Wonderful weather during winter months, great beaches - clean, calm water, great pool selection , very friendly staff, big food selection at the buffet, delicious food in a la cart restaurants, above expectation. Fun aquafit classes in mid day, however, lack of other entertainment such as dancing or Zumba . Evenings were quite boring. Disappointed to find out that only vip get top shelf drinks, something I would have consider if given the choice or option

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Poor Experience - go elsewhere!

We visited the Fives in fall of 2019 and again in winter of 2024. I understand that there was an ownership change during that time and the resort and specifically its services and experiences have declined in those four years. The service is, at best, inconsistent. Sometimes you will get enough bath towels and a hand towel; sometimes you'll get a couple bath towels and a bath mat to use as a hand towel. Sometimes the beds are made correctly, sometimes they are reversed (fuzzy blanket beneath [... read more] a flat sheet??) Even if you find an ambassador moments after you arrive, you likely won't get reservations. We were only able to go to al a cartes twice during our 7 days. The buffet is very substandard compared to other resorts in a similar price range in the same area of Mexico. Some of the staff is incredible (shoutout to Patricio at the bar near the beach taco/pizza stands!) and other staff aren't enjoying their jobs (and will share with you their experiences which is heartening). We booked a special evening at Casa de Rosa (a Christmas gift to our group) and were very very disappointed. It is advertised as an authentic Mexican cooking class. We put on aprons, pressed a single tortilla each, then removed our aprons and sat down to a hastily served and cold dinner. We weren't even told what we were eating. Only a 50% discount was provided upon sharing out disappointment and lack of services provided as indicated. There is a lack of activities and options for things to do at this resort as well. There are a lot of other options, so skip on by this place and go for another location.

Royal Solaris: Great hotel

The staff and service was great .i have travelled all over Mexico and it’s the Mexican people that always make me happy which carries over in there work to name a few Lily,Elisa and Janeth in the lobby bar…….Johnathon the breakfast waiter (exceptional service) Ramon the pool waiter and Alejo in the Marco Polo restaurant

Allegro Cozumel: So so resort

We were at this hotel 10 years ago and what a different experience! Not for the good! The food is terrible when there was food. Always empty trays. A la cartes were booked up when we arrived already unless you wanted 9pm sitting. Had a group of 39 people and were told they couldn’t put us all together for just one night. Took 3 days of begging and then finally Pedro accompanied our group. It was a 60th wedding anniversary so we wanted a special dinner. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: For Mexico it was okay

No map, no menu, no drink menu, couldn't find entertainment listings..everything was a QR code and took too much time. Couldn't locate air canada rep, beach was dissaponting. Got scammed by "no we don't have timeshare" on the resort, we just want 10 min of your time; 2 hours later if being passed around to this person and that to find out 10k to buy in to some resort deal. Wasted my time although I was upfront and said don't drag me around, give me the bottom line so I can enjoy my vacation.  [... read more]Basically with the 1.5 hour drive from airport to resort and getting sucked in to the drag around we lost a day. Paying as much as we did, on limited vacation time, I was truly dissatisfied. On a good note, the food was great, rooms were clean, and service was wonderful by staff. I've been to many Bahia's and I'm going to stick with Punta Cana, less travel, never got stocked by "not time share" scams and had access to paper formats if needed, could look at an actual menu at the bar and restaurant and was always informed of activities. I overheard others talking, and they thought it was the most boring resort yet, I suspect they couldn't figure out what was going on either. Won't be back to that resort, but will continue to enjoy Bahia in other areas so long as there is something I can read in front of me and not have to use my internet and find QR codes.

Grand Riviera Princess: Been to better

The resort was well manicured, room was clean, check in was simple! Had a few issues in our room with a clogged drain and a not working safe but once we called the front desk they were very prompt at fixing it! The buffet was decent as long as you go early! Mamma Mia miso and lefluer were really good! The grill and taco bar near the pool area were great! The rest were sub par! The water is murky and very rocky! And when the waves pick up all the sea garbage comes up on shore! Too much seaweed for my liking, most resorts seem a little better at keeping this at bay! Did enjoy all the wild life around! Didn’t care for them asking me to upgrade to premium wrist bands upon check in, was told had to do it now or it will go up tomorrow! Thankfully I did not as it’s not needed, not that I would have when it was presented the way it was, don’t like being felt pressured right away! Didn’t care for the way this was suppose to be all inclusive yet every time we turned around they want to charge for this or that extra! Ex, ice cream shop, kids water park, the one and only restaurant on the beach! Unfortunately ran into more than a couple people who complained about being drugged at the same pool bar! we believe two people that we were with also fell victim to this as they had complete black outs that didn’t make sense! Unfortunately 5 out of our group of 10 got sick either while thier upon returning home or a combination of both!

Ocean Maya Royale: Great resort even if a bit noisy.

Staff very friendly, property kept very nicely. Music very loud by 'party' pool all afternoon and very loud in front lobby area in the evening. Try to get a room as far away as possible from those two if you want some peace and quiet. Also, do not drink the water at restaurants, ice or crushed ice. We were very sick for 24 hours. Be careful booking up trips through agent at hotel. We booked up Tulum, snorkeling with turtles and cave trip, and the transport was awful. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing place, wonderful people!

The room was amazing, the grounds beautiful and well kept. The staff are always friendly and go above and beyond. I had sore muscles after a long flight, so booked a massage at the spa. Maria easily found the knots and gently but firmly worked them out, always ensuring my comfort. Regardless of where we ate, the food was amazing! Patricia made us feel very welcome at the evening buffet, like coming home and the outdoor patio was the perfect setting for dinner.
