Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort

This was our first time going to Mexico and will be definitely returning. Ocean riviera paradise was absolutely amazing. We stayed at El Beso section we had a swim up room. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The king size bed was so comfy. The service through out the resort was excellent especially Nelly at the swim up bar. David the gentle man that drove the shuttle made us laugh everday every time he drove by. Miguel was also amazing and friendly. The food was spot on the buffe [... read more]t had a great selection and was very good. The Sakura restaurant was entertaining and very good. The Blue Moon was amazing. The steakhouse was ok. We never made it to the Italian. Mike's was good as well was there every morning to get a capaccino. The monkeys were beyond entertaining and the coati's were very interesting creatures. We will be returning to ocean riviera paradise on our next vacation

Paradisus Cancun: Phenomenal all inclusive resort

This hotel was fantastic, clean rooms, exceptional service on the grounds and in room. The food was amazing and the servers was amazing. The ocean was.so much fun. Overall one of my favorites so far and i have done a lot of travelling.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: I will be returning

My second stay at the Bahai Principe and it will remain as one of my favorites. Akumal is the luxury and beach side area of the 4 Bahai Principe resorts located together. Im going to rate this and the other Bahai areas very high, as we visited all but the Adult resort on our recent trip. I have previously stayed at the adult Sian Kaan area and it is beautiful and quiet, you have to shuttle to the beach from there. First Akumal, we were fortunate to stay in one of the recently renovated modern [... read more] units and they are comfortable, a good size and the AC is perfect. There are first floor swim out units with a small semi private pool, may explore these units for our next visit. A good choice if you prefer quiet, not necessary if you plan to be in the action at the pool or beach. Did hear the older units are a bit dated and the AC less powerful. Akumal has an adult area away from the main pools, that has a beautiful infinity pool, adult restaurant KATOK and a private beach access. If you want quiet, request a room in this area, there are shuttles to take you to the lobby. As for the main pool areas (separate from the adult area) , there are three areas to choose from. The main action area near the lobby, pool with the swim up bar, and a third quieter area with limited bar service. We spent most of our time at the first two where there is music, bar service to your seat, easy beach access. The pools are weave around the area and have seating and lounging options in the water. There is plenty of seats around the pool area, no need to save a spot. Shaded spots are a bit more limited at the pools but abundant at the beach. The beach is busy and seems to be where most people tend to hang out. there is bar service, some activities and a lot of chairs/umbrellas available. COBA is the kids area but really nice and still caters to the adults. We didn't spend much time here outside of restaurants but it is a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Nice sports bar and wide open nighttime area. Pool looks great for young kids. TULUM is a bit further from Akumal but there are shuttles available, not too far if you walk along the beach. TULUM is huge, and renovated. The pools are very large and open, it is louder then AKUMAL. TULUM is a beautiful looking resort. Has beach access but much smaller then AKUMALs beach area. If traveling with just adults I would choose Sian Kaan. With older teens really tough choice between Akumal or Tulum (no bad choice here). Maybe Akumal if I was going to access an adult only area or prefer beach over pool, otherwise Tulum if I want pools more then beach. Coba or Tulum with kids. Coba is budget friendly. Now the best part. The food. Prebook your a la cartes using the Bahai App a week ahead of time. There is an amazing selection of restaurants some focusing on great food and other on an experience. You will not be disappointed. If you are staying at Akumal, Sian Kaan, and I think Tulum, you can book at any of the restaurants on any resort. Some are adult only. The Coba restaurants definitely have a kid focus on menu items but the Mikado experience with the cook top is worth it. I also recommended the Brazilian Steakhouse and Tequila at Tulum for a bit of an experience while dining. All the restaurants at Akumal and Sian Kaan are excellent. You will have a tough time deciding which restaurants to book. Great selection at the breakfast and lunch buffets at all locations, again the COBA features a few more kid friendly options. The only bad thing, is the drive out from the airport. It is a long way and traffic can be an issue. If you are using the transfer bus then you may have stops along the way and you will be the last stop of the journey. My daughters review was, that is a long drive but totally worth it for this resort.

Occidental Cozumel: Very nice resort!

Beautifully maintained grounds with lovely rooms and buildings. The buffet was excellent! I would have liked for the beach to have had palapas to provide both sun and shade. Also, some late afternoon entertainment would have been welcome, for those of us who find 9:10pm a little late to venture out. Over all really nice resort with friendly helpful staff.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

We loved this resort, everything was amazing, room, service, food etc. The rooms had the most amazing showers. My only complaint was if it's really windy the sand on the beach blows around so you can't lay there.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Exceeded my expectations

Great location on the grounds and just outside to BUCERIAS. All fine til going home This is the only area to write seconds on boarding plane we were told to disembark aircraft due to mechanical issues 2 hour wait. Well then it went to 6 hour wait finally a 10 hour delay. Had to bring an empty plane from Toronto to pick us up and return home Air Transat issued food vouchers not worth more than one sandwich we left at 10.:10 pm arrival Toronto 3:30am We were given a $200.00 travel cred [... read more]it hardly worth a nites stay in a hotel that was available. Others missed there rides home. I drove but had to pull over twice to stay awake. Had zero alcohol for last 48 hours and a scary ride home pulled into my driveway at 7:00am. Saturday. Waste of a next day. $200.00 hardly covers what we all had to endure. Air Transat should have put us in a room for the night and flew out the next day East enough to varify what I just wrote hoping for some further consideration for compensation from air Transat. Catalonia Yucatan: Amazing!!!????

This resort was very very clean and the staff were Amazing.. The entertainment was very very good...The room with a balcony was good.. The only thing is there should be music at all pools and the beaxh.

Tropicana Hotel: better than average hotel for PV

BIG thing - shuttle bus did not wait until we were through long lines at airport and left without us. We had to take a taxi. Hotel Irma Zihuatanejo: Gorgeous view, great location

Hotel Irma was everything I’d hoped for this trip - quiet at night, safe, clean, could sleep with the door open (there was a screen for bugs) with the sound of the waves and moist air coming in. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable. Never had to chase down clean towels. Breakfast package well worth it at time of booking. Lovely plate of fresh pineapple, papaya, watermelon and cantaloupe, coffee, and an egg dish of our choosing. Cheery, helpful staff. No music at the pool, which I reall [... read more]y appreciated. So sick of loud music blasting away at resorts. People here had to listen in their headphones. NO SMOKING. Yay! It is up a hill, which is not for the faint of knee or heart, really built up the cardio! But those less fit could take a taxi. Gorgeous edgeless pool looking down at the beach and town. A second pool as well. Enough loungers for all.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort

Beautiful resort. Service was up and down. Some servers were great others not so much. The biggest downfall were the dinners. The food at most of the restaurants was not great and not as good as other resorts that we have been to in the area. Fuego was by far the best restaurant but still a bit hit and miss. The menus sound good but the execution is surprisingly bad.

Occidental Cozumel: Great vacation!

We just returned from the occidental after a great week. More pros than cons for sure. This is our second year going there and we have done the royal level each time. Don’t think I would pay the extra next year. Resort was clean, staff very friendly and attentive. Food was good but small restaurant at royal was very slow service and food was cold when served. Buffets offered some selection and hot! Other restaurants were good. Beach was lovely. Water was refreshing. Unfortunately the Jacuzzi poo [... read more]l for royal was not warm even after bringing to their attention. We won’t go back their next year as need to change it up.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Resort

This was our second trip to this resort. We were impressed during our visit a year ago and decided to return. The food was very good. The service was very good in all of the restaurants and bars. Isobel the pool server was wonderful, bringing drinks to the swim up rooms. Also the room services was very convenient. Our room was very clean and well stocked most of the time. We had a swim up room and there was one day that we did not receive pool towels despite a call and a visit to the concier [... read more]ge desk. There were a couple of maintenance issues that were promptly dealt with and followed up with a call from the concierge desk to ensure everything was satisfactory. One disappointment was a lack of recognition for return guests. Also, during our visit last year there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine delivered to the room. However, they are no longer doing this. Overall, we were very satisfied and would return.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Fun Resort

This was our first time here! We had an ocean front room on the main floor that was super convenient with a nice patio to sit out on. Our room was close to 3 of the pools, the beach & beach front bar & nice common areas to sit around close by. It was amazing going to sleep every night listening to the waves crashing on the shore! I would have an omelet made everyday by a lovely lady. One issue was not having all of the Ala carte restaurants open every day. We only made one booking as you had to be online at 8am to get into one of the available restaurants. As it was I messed up the booking but they let us stay as they had a few empty tables. We just stuck with the buffets from that point. We had no issues getting pool chairs either, which was nice. There is some need for upgrades, & upkeep needed around the place, but for the most part everything was really good. We attended a couple of the evening shows & they were great! It's a great location to walk into Bucerias. Definitely should wear runners on the rocky roads! We enjoyed our time here!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing place

The hotel was cleaned at all times. Very friendly staff. Very good food and variety of options. Glad that we went there. Had a great time.we had adults only beach area which was great for us. The pool we didn’t use because of a lot of sunscreen in the water even they cleaned it every night. We will go again there for sure.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing.resort

Had a terrific time and would go back in a heartbeat. Everything is so manicured and super clean. Staff were perfect and treated us like royalty. Carlos Chance(?) was manning the poolside bar and beach bar, always ready with a cold beer, of course with the amazing Loreena helping him out. Claudia at the buffet.. could go on, but appreciated everyone. Super relaxing and fun. Amazing entertainment every night.

Riu Tequila: loved the tequila hotel!

We have stayed here 5 times and thoroughly enjoy all the trees and bushes and spaciousness of the grounds. I do think there is too much food waste though. For instance the steak house- the portion I got was enormous and I could only eat 1/3 as it was way too much meat. I would suggest to advertise 2 sizes- small and large.Also there is no. need to have the buns as an appetizer when we have another appetizer. Also place more signage reminding people to not waste and not to take more than the [... read more]y will eat- as it gets reflected in the hotel price. Also too many people stop to feed the animals roaming- better signage here also needed to not do so and enforce with staff discouraging it. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Resort for Adults only- areas for peace & quiet or

Cons- currently construction 24/7 - could not sleep! Some nights like hammering through rock! Not as Stated in brochures:No international top shelf liquors (unless paying a stipend). Did not replenish mini fridges daily. No bubbles in cheap Prosecco. Orange juice was real juice at all- this made for yucky breakfast mimosas. No heat in rooms when outside temps got down to 15 overnight- so did the room. Requested Blankets were never delivered. I know real hardship. Good daily activities & nightly entertainment. Ocean/ beach red flagged most days. Like the option to visit other Bahia Principe properties during stay by golf cart. Rooms dated but AC is not too disruptive while sleeping. Fridge keeps things nice & cold. Main thing right? On arrival Long HOT wait for bus before leaving airport. 2 long hours to get to resort from airport.

Riu Santa Fe: Oceanview room was fantastic!!

Our oceanview room was overlooking the infinity pool, with a view across the bay of the rock formations that included the Arch. We were able to watch cruise ships come and go. The grounds of the Riu Santa Fe are well kept, with gardeners out each day. We used the infinity pool daily in which the water was clear and well maintained. Hotel staff was constantly cleaning all areas of the resort and our room was well cleaned daily. The fridge and coffee supplies were well stocked. The activity gr [... read more]oup was very energetic with programs going on daily to entice guests to partake in pool activities. The main buffet (Baja California) always had a good selection of food. Our favourite choice of the a la carte restaurants was the Kulinarium that had the best beef tenderloin we have every had in the Carribean. Reservations are not required for all a la carte restaurants. We stayed at this resort for the first time in 2019 and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the resort has been nicely redecorated, as well as the rooms. We stayed in Villa 7 which has a large open foyer that includes a sculpture in the middle of the foyer. Guests passing through this area would often spin the orb in the middle of the sculpture which created a loud, disturbing noise during all hours of the night. We did bring this to the attention of customer service upon leaving.
