Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: 2nd year in a row - just as great!

This is our second year in a row going to PJ in Playa Del Carmen and we still love it! The rooms are big and spacious, the beds are so comfy with soft white duvets, the food is amazing and the staff are the best I've had. I've travel extensively throughout the Caribbean and I now consider PJ my go-to resort. The beach is non-existent but once you get over that, the resort is to be completely enjoyed! Last year, I wrote in advance to the resort and told them of my husband's inability to walk far and they gave us a room right beside the lobby. Wow! This year, they once again gave us one of the designated handicapped rooms at the lobby and it was so appreciated. Everyone worked so hard to make our trip memorable. From Natalie Collura at TripCentral who arranged wheelchairs at both airports, to Luis Nunez at the front desk at Panama Jacks to Julio who got my husband drinks all day at the pool, let me just tell you how grateful we are for all your efforts. This is a friendly, family oriented resort that goes overboard every day to make their guests welcome. I have no complaints whatsoever about this resort.

The Sens Riviera: OK Resort

Spent 1 week with our 4yr old and 8month. Kids Club was amazing - highly recommend. Our 4yr old begged to go and he had an amazing time. Bernice was so friendly and really made him feel comfortable, and also made us feel comfortable leaving him there. But for being a kids focused resort, improvements are needed. Buffet should open earlier than 6pm, more highchairs are needed for sure as they were always scrambling to find one. Dinoland was awesome, a hidden gem really. But it should also  [... read more]open earlier - we went at 9:30am on our last day and it was not yet open. The beach was beautiful , we spent most of our time there and also the kids pool. We had a deluxe tropical view room - nothing fancy , definitely dated but we don’t spend time in the room other than sleeping, so it served its purpose. The resort seems very dated and needs some upgrades. Overall we had a great week, kids had a blast. But we would not go back.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: So much to do.

The resort is massive, yet you have everything you need close to you. We stayed at the Colonial but you have access to the other hotels. There is a lot to keep a family busy or you can sit and relax doing very little It is clean and service is excellent. You can get chairs in the shade at any time and the beach is great. The sea is warmer than the pool, which is too cold. I only managed to get in it 3 times! Al a carte restaurants are very good; lots of choice and good food. Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Small user friendly resort

Had a nice relaxing time at this resort. It is laid out very well and very easy to get anywhere is a short time. We met lots if nice people to chat with. Dining was very good. We really made use of the coffee shop and snacks! We have been to many adults only resorts in the Mayan and have to say this is our top so far!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Comfort that is world class

This was our seventh trip to this beautiful resort and it is consistently a paradise experience. We went with our family and we wake up to beautiful sunrises with palm trees sparkling with rays of sunshine, glasses of fresh orange juice with an abundance of tropical fruits, passion fruit and pineapple, family favorites, to a medley of buffet foods for everyone’s tastes. We play  [... read more]paddle ball every day and games as a family, botche ball or basketball are family favorites, and of course some jenga. We head every day to the sauna and ice pools and steam room to unplug more before getting ready for a family dinner. There are many restaurants to choose from and we always live the Japanese restaurant for the entertainment and the food is excellent. The Spanish is another favorite as the Lambchops are always delicicious. If you are a big dessert fan you may find the sweets are not always the best , but a steady diet of fresh fruits 🍉 is more than enough. House wines are ok but if a wine buff spend the extra $ for a quality wine. We love their margaritas so a week in Mexico drink their drinks instead and you will be happy. Beers are good to with Coronas with lime: our sons go to. Are we going back? Absolutely next year is year 8 or maybe 9 : have to check but this is a spot our family calls our Mexican home. The staff are always helpful and responsive: customer service and keeping the resort clean are top priorities for health and safety. Bon voyage: you won’t be disappointed!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Stunning Resort!!

What can I say about the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar.... Amazing!! From the time we arrived, we were in awe of the fabulous resort grounds. Walking through a jungle like setting to get to the beach/pool was awesome. So beautiful and so many critters to observe. Flamingos, coatis, iguanas and too many birds to mention. Seeing the amount of "green areas" and being able to appreciate the nature in the resort was exactly what we love in vacationing. The room was clean and the fact that the resort is so environmentally friendly was comforting. Glass water bottles in each room with a refill station in the hallways was great. Food was excellent. Never had a bad meal and there was so many choices. Staff were very friendly and took the time to chat with you. Overall we would highly recommend this resort and hope to return one day!

The Sens Riviera: Good Family vacation.

Check in was a breeze (sun club ), room was very nice, beds were super comfortable. Our room was sunclub pool view, it had a French balcony, so we could not sit on it, but we could open the window and allow a nice breeze into the room. We had zero problems with anything in the room. The wifi is great at this resort, strong signal everywhere and that includes the beach area. The beach is narrow but beautiful and you can walk it for miles. Snorkelling is amazing two feet off the beach, lots  [... read more]of fish to see and a couple of resident stingrays that hang out around the fishing boats. The kids pool area and Dinoland are very well done. Grandkids loved it. Food quality and selection were very good. We tried almost all of the restaurants (we did not go to Tiki taco) and were not disappointed. The buffet is very good and has something for everyone. Did not go hungry at this resort. Coco Cafe is a gem, great snacks and amazing cappuccino coffees. Entertainment was good, we enjoyed the Urban show, the Fire show and the Circus. The staff here is truly wonderful and will do everything in their power to ensure you have a great worry free vacation. This is not a five star resort, but it is a good four star, great value for your money and the staff are wonderful.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Best Vacation ❤️❤️

The Bahia Principe Coba was amazing - super clean - very organized - all staff very friendly - food was all delicious- with lots of variety - tons of lounge chairs by every pool - the shows were the best I’ve seen - and tons of entertainment - will be back for sure 🇲🇽❤️

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Fantastic Time at the Catalonia!

We stayed for 10 days and enjoyed every day! Food was great, including restaurants and buffets. Our room was amazing! Shout out to Amanda in housekeeping; Alejandro at the front desk, Antonio and all pool entertainment staff, waiter Bernardino at the El Marcado buffet restaurant! Enjoyed the kayaks and spa. Loved the Puerto Adventurous area! Felt at home the entire time. Planning to return!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful

What a beautiful resort, great pools, buffet, restaurants and the service everywhere was amazing. Beach was a bit rocky, so take water shoes. Rooms were clean. Air conditioning worked great. Loved the sports bar.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: enjoyable resort

I would rate this complex very high but with one major fault. The beach sand area is perfect but one can't enjoy the water. 80% of the water area is covered in sharp jagged rocks. An area sectioned off for swimming isn't very deep and after walking out 200 yards the water level is about 2 feet deep and still has rocky areas.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: second time here and love this place

It is a beautiful resort with lots to do. grounds are very clean and staff is excellent. all the restaurants are amazing. we had an ocean front suite and it was spectacular. the beaches are beautiful and very clean. the night time entertainment was great and atmosphere is fun

Riu Tequila: TRULY AWESOME

Riu Tequila is a wonderful resort. It appeared to me early that this resort had a great management team with strong leadership skills. No matter which area or corner of the resort you were in the staff and workers were extremely positive, polite, friendly and eager to please. Such pleasure to see and feel. The food was terrific, great varieties and excellently prepared. Rooms are newly renovated, modern and refreshing. The pool's and pool area's are spacious with lots of chairs and palaps. Even [... read more]ing shows and nightly entertainment are very musical and colorful, with lots of dancing and singing, especially the White Party (60's 70's 80's tunes). A definite must see. The spa treatments are fantastic. Initially you think "WOW" this is a little pricey, however after you indulge in a massage, you gravitate to a different zone and a special level of appreciation. Well worth the price. Entrance to the beach is a short walk and even shorter ride. It is somewhat majestic, a long corridor with white pillar architecture, beautiful vegetation and greenery, also the occasional small monkey. It opens to a gorgeous sandy beach. A massive area decorated with palm trees and beach chairs. Very, very comfortable and relaxing setting. This is a truly awesome resort that caters to your comfort. I shall return!!

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Tropical dream Resort

The staff were amazing very helpful and nice all the time. The resort was beautiful. We loved the adult area and the snorkelling. Our room was perfect all the time. The buffets were always good and the restaurants were super good.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Fantastic Vacation

Resort was excellent. Rooms were spacious and the maids did a great job keeping them clean. Grounds crew did an amazing job keeping everything looking beautiful. Staff were great, friendly and very attentive. Food at the buffets and a la carte restaurants was great, we were there for 10 days and never got tired of the food! I would definitely go back

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Sprawling resort needs a better restaurant reservation system

My husband and I spent our Anniversary week at Luxury Bahia Akumal from February 23 to March 1, 2020. We booked this location because it offered adults only facilities, was expansive and it was right on the water. The beach and grounds were lovely and well kept. We stayed in an ocean front room in building 66 which the closest to the beach and the perfect location. The rooms had basic furnishings and amenities. Some aspects of the room showed wear (eg - there was rust in the bath around some of [... read more] the fixtures and the tie backs on the bed curtains were dirty). While I’d consider the grounds and common areas 4 stars, the rooms could only be considered 3. They have many restaurants from which to choose, which was another selling feature, but it’s almost impossible to get a reservation! It seems that you have to book prior to arrival in order to get seating. This was very disappointing. When we could get a reservation it was at 5:30 or 9:30 for dinner. Thankfully the buffets were very good with a lot of variety. The resort was full of Canadians and although they have a lovely sports bar, they couldn’t play the Leafs or Raptors games. I’ve been to other resorts in Mexico that had access to all the games. This was also disappointing. The alcohol was not top shelf and some options like Grand Marnier was an extra charge. I couldn’t recommend this resort to people who are accustomed to 4.5 to 5 star resorts as the rooms are basic and in poor repair and lack of restaurant choice. The beach and grounds are truly beautiful, but I would only book this resort again if it was a deep discount.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Good clean adult retreat.

The resort is well maintained. Staff were busy cleaning everyday. Staff were excellent and friendly. Service was great , food was excellent. Loved the fact that you did not have to make reservations at the a la carte restaurants - it’s first come first serve. The beach snack bar was excellent (although under staffed). You could get chicken wings, ribs, fries, burgers, hot dogs, nachos and drinks. The breakfast buffet was excellent - service was fast and efficient - servers were excellent. Make sure you check out the sports area. It’s not well advertised but you can go paddle boarding, batting cage, archery. It’s a bit of a walk from the main area. Check out the other resorts you can go to with your reservation - one next door is HUGE! There is a casino and sports bar. Didn’t take in any of the nightly shows but heard great reviews from others. Get ready for the foam party every Saturday night. The main pool is very busy And logic music is played from 11-430 everyday; everyone rushes down in the morning to claim their chairs. If you aren’t down by 10 good luck finding a lounge chair. There is a quiet pool but it was a long walk from the main pool. Had a great time despite 3 days of cloud cover and cooler weather. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

We were at the Royalton Riviera in Mexico again this year. Last year for 7 days. This year 10 days. Next year 2 weeks. What am amazing resort. Restaurants galore, Italian, seafood, Indian, steak, Mexican , Texan, Japanese, buffet etc...The most wonderful staff, many pools, great rooms. On & on & on. My one recommendation is book up to the Diamond Club. That will make your time there great!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice and clean Resort

Resort is very clean, grounds, rooms, lobby, restaurants. Great food selection. Difficult to get reservations at all A'la carte's. Staff is nice. Entertainment is average, same as most resorts. Layout is great. Building 6 is very central to everything. Not enough pool chairs.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Amazing Resort

The resort is fantastic. From the moment you enter the lobby to check in you notice that the Resort is clean and well maintained The rooms are spacious and well appointed and clean. All staff have a great attitude and seem to love to come to work. The Entertainment Staff Celia,Sergio and Mr Mike made the day awesome and the shows on the outside stage Fabulous.
