Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Very good resort

We stayed from October 22-29 . Check in was smooth .. we had to wait for our room but not long. Very nice ocean view room . Great week at the resort and beach area was amazing! The food was the usual Cuba food some days good some not so good ! Think if they had more variety it would be a plus for the resort. Entertainment was also very good . Bar staff were very nice and fast with drink. In all we would return to the resort .

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great People - They really understand Hospitality

This resort was probably the best we have been to in the Caribbean in terms of staff Hospitality. Being in Hospitality myself, I truly value this and wish I could have "bottled" it. There are too many staff to name but suffice it to say that everyone from the gardeners, maintenance, bartenders, housekeeping, front desk, servers, etc. etc. were outstanding. The resort was new and the rooms were nice. We wish the beach had been closer to the resort. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was gorgeous and there was a lovely gazebo just below that we observed the sunrise and sunset from! We were fortunate to have an umbrella "guy" save our spot each day with umbrellas. But there was not enough to provide shade to the low capacity let alone if the resort was full. They need to look at this! It is hard to comment on "nature" as it is really beyond the resorts control. The weather was fantastic - hot and sunny the entire week. However, the bugs were very bad and we were not prepared. Several in our party of 7, as well as many others throughout the resort, were bitten badly by small black "no seemes" and many had to see the Dr. for infection, swelling and itching. We heard from others at the resort further down that they "sprayed" each evening. This would have been a huge benefit. The seaweed on the beach was also piled up which we believe may have contributed to the bugs. But again, act of nature we couldn't really complain. 3 out of the 7 of us had never been to Cuba let alone Cayo Coco. We had low expectations for food. Unfortunately, the food met these low expectation. There was little in the way of fresh fruit or vegetables. The food and menus were often labeled as one thing but were actually something different. The Indian restaurant was good but several items were filled with black plastic bits for 6 out of 7 of us and was a total turn off. Although, we told management all they said was they were sorry. 5 out of 7 of us had "tummy" issues throughout our stay, even those that took Dukarol before we left which leads me to believe that there are food safety concerns. There was one "mystery" soup that made one individual particularly ill and we heard from others that they were also quite ill afterwards. The resort did provide us with a lobster dinner free of charge to make up for it. On the last day there was an amazing tomato pasta sauce. We were told a guest went into the kitchen and taught the team how to prepare a pasta sauce. As so many Canadians visit, I would recommend the resort consider hiring a Chef Consultant to come teach the preparation of food and food safety that would meet Canadian expectation and standards. There were also plumbing issues. There were several power failures and afterwards water did not run properly and toilets would not flush. This is concerning as the resort was empty - we estimated it would've been at 20% max. What would it be like if the resort was full? Again lots of pros and cons. We would be willing to try Cuba again but this resort has to step up it's game. It is new and not having enough umbrellas, toilets not flushing, lighting at night not working, snack bar out of food items - even french fries, a la cartes not being open, is not a good sign for low occupancy and a new resort. They have new sections opening in December and we really recommend they look at this. We'd have to see that things have improved before returning. Final thoughts...We just want to stress how amazing the staff is and that alone would make us want to return!!!!

Hotel Mojito: Great staff

The hotel was very clean, hotel staff arranges your bed spread differently for every day of your stay! WiFi is only available in the lobby and you have to pay 1 peso or 1.25 american hourly. I would revisit this resort

Hotel Mojito: Exelent resort for full relaxation

I think this resort is exelent for recharging mental energy for people who must sosialise every day with huge amount of people, customers etc. Exelnt nature friendly personal and exelent service will satisfie you.For people who would like to discover something around there are interesting adventures.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beach saved this resort

Air in room ok but constant low rumble was disturbing.Wife had to climb a chair to unhinge chain lock to open patio door to sit out and smoke then climb chair to lock it up again as this was the only Lock for patio.No toilet paper dispenser for paper. Grab it from toilet tank.This sound four star does it not?Fridge was water only well 1 litre of water per day.Even if you stocked fridge with beer and pop then charge what was used but nooo.4star resort eh!! Sandy, sunny.Even had a guy bring you chairs and set them up wherever you wanted.Bar at beach.No Cubans live on this set of islands. It is strictly for tourists.No mall or anywhere to shop except for the one shop at the resort.40 minute drive to town at 40 dollars.4star resort? I THINK NOT.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Ok resort

My husband and I went to this resort from the 18 to the 25 of October, the hotel is new in a lot of ways, the staff most of them don’t speak well in English, it’s frustrating if you have a concern or problem, the food is always the same thing, the a la carts were better, but no food anywhere between meals.

We stayed to week of October 15-22nd the resort was very clean, our room was excellent lovely sea view.Speciality restaurants food was tasty and well presented. Buffet restaurant was very repetitious but okay. Staff were friendly and the service was very good. Nice beach, it was a little windy while we were there but very warm, couple of quick rain showers not a problem. Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Sercotel Club Cayo Guillermo is a sweet easy Paradise

I am reminded of the, "village the of small huts", where from very comfortable and clean accommodations the views of El Mar are breath taking and the sand & sea go on forever, Siempre! The linens & towels were plentiful and refreshed daily with the added touch of "towel art" with hibiscus! ensconced on the bed different every day...so creative. There is a lot of walking getting from here to there so mobility should be good. It feels like wilderness there but good for small children with the shal [... read more]low water extending 100 metres from flat pristine wide long white sand beaches. Night walks are dreamy. It's a great place where everything works well. Especially great for kite surfing and snorkeling via small sailboat.

Hotel Vigia: A Must See!

So grateful to our travell agent and to the wonderful staff at sol Cayo Guillermo. Everyone was SO welcoming and friendly! Our first time in Cuba and had the Best family vacation! The resort & rooms were comfortable & clean, the food was really good and the sand & ocean was beautiful! We miss it already! Thank you Cuba for giving us the best memories! Melia Cayo Coco: Nice well kept Adults resort

Good Adults only resort.Well kept and organized and friendly staff including Gardners. Food is OK and rooms good and properly attended. Few suggestions: Snack bar can be more efficient & serving more SNACKS ONLY with soft drinks Need better access to Pool bar,straight path OR "AQUA POOL BAR" in POOL Books collection can be consolidated and visible to guests for reading. Hotel Vigia: Get your steps in!

For those who love to get their steps in and stay active, Cayo Guillermo’s Playa El Paso 4km beach is amazing for both swimming and walking. The sand is incredibly soft, yet firm to walk on and stays shallow so far out. The Sol Cayo G is dated and needs much work however, it is a casual cottage-like spot on an expansive piece of property providing very good quality service. I have visited this hotel the past 9 years in a row!

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Paradise Home Away from Home.

I have been a regular visitor to this hotel for the past 9 years. The staff have become part of my family.... I am always treated as a VIP guest. Upgraded to beach front rooms /bungalows /suites. All personal needs met beyond expectations... In my opinion, this resort and rooms provide the best guest services and staff of all the hotels I have visited in Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: wonderful hotel experience

My husband and I spent 7 days in Iberostar Daiquiri resort, this is one of the best experiences in our vacation time. Room is always very clean, and cleaning staff did perfect job, we are happy with our room service. it's a surprise to us that food in buffet are delicious, there are very good chefs cooking there, no need to worry that " food got no taste ". We are very much enjoy the music show in lobby in the evening time. it's so high level performance, beautiful music. what we enjoy the [... read more] most is the White sand beach, we spent a lot times there in each day, clean water, good weather and lots fun there. we like the beach, we like the hotel and we will come back together with our friends and families.

We appreciated the service, the people! The food was okay, rooms very clean and the overall entertainment quite pleasant! The beaches werent the best but Cuban water is still warm and very much therapeutic. Overall 8/10

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Resort

The resort was nice and the staff were ALL so friendly. Pool and beach was impeccable. We did have cockroaches in our room and some sort of sand bugs and the air conditioning didn’t work. They moved our rooms and everything was great!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Resort, lots of activities

As in Cuba food is less desirable but I found this better than other resorts. Great staff and shows where very interactive. Weather was decent despite hurricane Michael. Took the scuba excursion was fantastic. Would recommend.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Had an amazing time!

An amazing resort if you're looking for something very quiet ! Beautiful room but smelled like an ashtray for the first few days. But the beach makes everything worthwhile ! Very friendly staff as well.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Good time in Sep-Oct 2018

It is a great resort with fine food and great beach (no restroom/toilet though). The staff is very friendly. Buffet is great with lots of choice and variety. Restaurants are great. Very close to the airport.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Mouldy Rooms

I was hoping to be able to relax on the beach or in my room with a book by myself. Turns out I had to change rooms four times and there were still issues. Seems like if you're not with a male that can stand up for you you get targeted by whatever game they happen to be running at that hotel at the time whether or not you're a participant. I will not ever be returning and will not recommend this to anyone. Nothing has changed for the better.

I like this resort it is a 3 star and the price is great the people are friendly and the food is good it is quiet but there is lots too do I have been there 8 times in 6 years so for me it’s like going home
