Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful Guadalavaca Beach!!

My 4 th trip to Holguin resorts and my first negative review. Same limited choices day in and day out. Cabbage and cucumbers daily for salad. Pasta looked awful and it was. Cuban kids didn't like it. My husband is not fussy and he had a hard time with the food!! Too many rude and loud locals come for the week ends. Unruly kids with lousy parents. So much smoking all around, in the pools and the ocean!! The price is far too high lately for this resort. Use to be reasonable . Playa Costa Verde: Very Good

Most things were very good. No major problems. The food was good, there is lots of choice so you should be able to find something.I went in October and it was quiet on the resort. There was no much of a wait for anything . The staff for the most part is very helpful and pleasant. The beach is very nice, the water is beautiful. Good snorkeling . Good for couples. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Mildew Central

The beach and the grounds are lovely. For the second time, the room they'd gave us was uninhabitable due to mold and mildew. My sinuses lit up like a wildfire and I had to back out of the room. Eggs were not available for breakfast. The plastic cups at the bars seemed to have gotten smaller since our last visit. We traveled on Air Canada Discount carriers and the planes were crowded, poorly ventilated, and service was non existent. I would recommend you find a different airline for your trip. Brisas Guardalavaca: excellent vacation resort

Grounds well maintained,Staff very friendly,Great beach close to local straw market,Guest services ready to assist with any problems,lots of acctivities water sports, spanish lessons.Great food and beverages.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Disappointing

Just returning from Club Amigo.My room was not ready till 4:40 pm (I arrived at 12:30). The services at the front desk was slow and inconsistent. The food is so so.The best was Ashley Café. Great beaches.

Playa Pesquero: Unforgettable experience!

My husband, myself and our three-year-old son stayed at Playa Pesquero for a week second week of October. Prior to this, my husband and I have visited a few resorts over the years in other countries as well as in Cuba. This was the first time we both said that we are definitely returning here and for 10 days next time!!!!!! Loved absolutely everything! We upgraded and stayed in a superior room which, we were told, is just slightly larger than the standard. Beach is fantastic and perfect for todd [... read more]lers. While my husband was still able to enjoy deeper ocean and snorkelling. People are amazing. Bring unwanted clothes, shoes and other items as the people there are very much in need. We brought a whole suit case of stuff that we left for the people working at the resort and any locals asking for clothes.

Playa Pesquero: Had an amazing time !!!

The hotel is in a very good condition and has a welcoming atmosphere. The grounds, the beach , the food, the service - it's all excellent. We will definitely come here again and again and again! Thank you so much !

Brisas Guardalavaca: Wonderful...as always!

September/October 2015 I recently returned to a long time favourite and again, did not disappoint. Enjoyed wonderful meals at the buffet and a la carte restaurants. Great room in the Villa section which gave us quick access to the pool, hotel and beach. My only issue during the week was with Guest Services...little tiring when you have to constantly remind you are a 'repeat' guest....this trip was probably my 15th/16th return although even after my conversation with Guest Services and providing  [... read more]past travel dates (again!!) nothing was done other than to agree to a late checkout !!!! All in all terrific week and definitely will be returning in the near future.

Playa Pesquero: Loved the resort

Trip was a amazing. Karl really help us find the best pricing for everyone and resort was great! Loved the service, the scenery and food was actually not bad. I heard many rumors about cuba food and coming from a picky eater... it wasn't like bad. Officially a return client!

Don Lino Hotel: Very nice and peacefull resort

It is the third time for me in that resort and I will go again If you are picky about food stay at home but if you enjoy different culture food you will love this place the rooms are fantastic and clean you don't have to walk a lot to reach to the beach, bar etc. I recommend to rent a scooter for a 25 CUC a day so you can go around to all beaches of all resorts in Holguin as well as all the shops in the near towns the scenery is very beautiful and people are very friendly and helpful If you want [... read more] to have a good time it depends on your attitude and imagination and not the resort

Playa Pesquero: Average

Average. Most of the staff were very friendly. There were a few issues that had to be resolved and this was done amicably, however this took up vacation time, which can be frustrating. Food at the a la carte restaurants was a good change from buffet.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Got To Have A Sense Of Humor

Grounds were vast. Very far to walk from rooms to common areas. The only a la carte restaurant that was decent was the Romanic. Buffet were often out of usual items, like no bacon, no juice, no potatoes...Prepare to lose weitght! Staff and maids were very very good. Rooms cleaned well but not stocked up real well. There was nearly no entertainment and what little there was, all shut down at 9pm. Then it was quiet. They fogged with pesticide every evening with absolutely no warning. Suddenly your [... read more] surounded by a massive cloud of chemicals and nowhere to run. We asked for a cesar salad to start and we recieved shredded lettuce with peanut sauce. haha We all lost weight. That was a bonus. Also, so many stairs because the resort is built on a hill. Not good for anyone not interested in a daily workout. Beds in rooms are rock hard. Little blankets or pillows.

Playa Costa Verde: Pleasant Journey

This was my third trip to Playa Costa Verde and was just as enjoyable as before. Although it is starting to age, the hotel is always clean and well maintained, with work being done on upgrades on a regular basis. Food in the buffet was plentiful and well prepared with lots of variety. My only complaint: What happened to the bar stools in the Lobby Bar?

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: more then i expected

From the food, villa overlooking the pool, pool with walk up restaurant and bar. the villa rooms are away from the main hotel and a little nicer, (well worth the few extra dollars). The best feature of the entire resort was and still is "THE STAFF" . the most friendly and accommodating I have ever encountered. The staff at Club Amigo were amazing and I can't wait to return.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Very enjoyable stay!

I stayed in the Plus section with ocean view. The room was clean and new with a coffee maker (bring your own coffee...morning coffee is important to me) Building was fairly far from the beach so view of the ocen was from a distance. Beach was also a public one so there was much security evident around the resort...I didn't mind that. Beach was great; staff were welcoming, service was superb, a la carte restaurants did a good job and a welcome change to the buffet. Grounds were well kept but much [... read more] concrete walkways with sparse vegetation. I would also recommend the "Inside Cuba" day trip. Charges are in American dollars but I wasn't informed of this.

Playa Costa Verde: Fabulous time in Cuba!

I love Playa Costa Verde. I have been here four times and it keeps getting better. Love the people there. Especially Wilson and Patricia and Ivan and Enrique. Staff are excellent. We have made many friends here. Love it.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Love this resort!

Beautiful resort and great staff. The only staff that is not pleasant is the front desk. Great entertainment staff for activities. Food is decent, definitely won't go hungry. Market is in walking distance. This was our third time to this resort.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: very poor place

we had cocaraches, frogs and gecos in the room, 3 days with out TV, and when TV started to work, we coundt find the remote, no internet we coudnt call Canada to inform that we were allrite, didnt have any water in the morning in the toilette, one day we coundt take a shower, no water at all. housekeeping was a bad service, forgetting mat for floor, soap, shampoo, etc., etc., one of the pools was out of service, we had no chicken nowhere in the whole 10 days, breakfast was ok but lunch and dinner [... read more] a disaster.

Playa Costa Verde: Love this resort!

The staff at this resort is really what sets it apart from others. Having travelled to the Mayan Riviera 4x, Veradero and Cayo Santa Maria I can honestly say that what will keep me coming back to this resort is the staff. They go out of their way to make you feel at home, whether it's Guest Relations, Front Reception, Lobby bar, buffet, snack bar animation or beach bar they take the time to get to know you and make you feel special. We found the drinks to be mixed the way we like them when on vacation (strong) Rooms are spacious and kept clean the maids do a wonderful job and we love the towel art! Beach is beautiful. We love the contrast of water and mountains in this area. Yes there is a bit of coral to get around but there are plenty of openings to get in.Seriously if this bothers you then just walk towards either of the other 2 resorts and get in that way. I blindly choose this resort to get married at in 2014. Read the reviews and they were consistently positive. The wedding package not only offered more but was also less expensive. They went above and beyond what we could have imagined and made our day magical. We were so impressed with this resort that we went back the following year with pretty much the same group of 10 and were not disappointed the second time around. Looking forward to being back at this resort next year :)

Paradisus Rio De Oro: great time away from the kids!

The place was in renovations which we knew ahead of time. The pool they recently renovated was beautiful, you could stand and lean in the ledge of the infinity pool and see the ocean. Amazing! Everything was within close range. Food ... I don't know what people want .. We found the food amazing except for the Royal service which was odd.
