Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Amazing resort

This was one of my best stays in Puerto Plata,the hotel was very clean,cleaning staff where so amazing always there to help.The grounds where beautifully kept up.Every one was very pleasant.I noticed this time that when at the beach the vendors didn't bother you as much very friendly.The food was amazing the best sopa l have had yet.l like that they offered a spa and excersise room right att he pool.Three pools which was great not to crowded.l am going back in August and will deffinetly be stayi [... read more]ng there.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: We were the party

Wouldn't necessarily recommend for spring breakers but still had an amazing time. Buffet was okay but restaurants were great, staff is amazing and beautiful resort in general! I wish I had done more excursions, the beach was nice but you get heckled a lot

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Quiet loud fun excellant

Stayed there for 5 weeks relaxing they make you feel like your home. Got to know many people working there nicest people around. When you meet them the first time they ask you how is the family back home if they aré good you will have a great vacation.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Awesome

I have been going to this resort since 2000. I love the fact that it's an adults only resort, rooms have been redone and they are beautiful. Beds are very comfortable, entertainment at night time is very good. People and staff are very friendly, food was not that good this time and also we didn't have a mini fridge that worked the whole time we where there,, but I would go back there and also would recommend this resort to anybody that asked.we stayed in room 2103 , nice and close to everything  [... read more]but of course you hear the shows at night as you are close to the stage area.also this resort is only about 15 mins from the airport.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Exceptional resort

The staff are top notch! Friendly and courteous. The food is over the top phenomenal and the cleanliness is amazing. At 9:30 pm there are still staff cleaning and mopping. The weather was not always great but the staff had games and little culinary classes for all ages. Highly recommend.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Amazing resort

This was my 1st trip to Puerto plata but it's was most amazing trip I had.. Everyone in this resort were very nice...I will go there again and again. I did had hard time that I couldn't understand them because I did not speak Spanish and I did meet some people who did some English..thank you for great..thank you

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great experience ! Outstanding staff and services.

The food is fabulous..so much selection and daily comfort foods like at home. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Must do..get a private tennis lesson from Pablo the tennis court convenor. He is an amazing teacher and can improve your technique with even just one lesson but why not take a lesson everyday. It is so worth the 20 bucks an hour. I'd go there again if even just for the tennis.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful Resort!!

This is a well cared-for resort with well kept grounds, older but clean and comfortable rooms, and great food!! Friendly staff and an excellent pool area! We stayed there May 3 - 10, 2016 and really enjoyed our vacation!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Lovely resort

Food was good. The Japanese a la cartel was the best part of the trip, highly recommend! Beautiful beach. Nice clean rooms. Good layout. Pool was big and nice, needed a bit cleaning! Best pina colada mix ever! Very happy stay!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Vacation

Rooms, restaurants, pool, facilities, etc were all exceptionally clean. I work as a Housekeeping manager and was quite content with the services provided. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and actually hope to return this upcoming November with my family. Staff on the resort were very friendly. Booking with trip central was fantastic and would definitely rebook future vacations with Lisa at trip central!!

Overall, really enjoyed our stay! If you are a younger student, there are not too many young partiers here. However, the pool bar always offered a good time shared by all ages. The disco on the resort is usually close to empty but the off-resort bar just a minute walk away is very busy (just make sure you have a male with you so you are safe!). Very good service, clean, and an enjoyable place to stay!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great Time! Great Value!

We had a group of 11 people and had a great time at this resort. There were really no complaints from anyone in our group. The entire complex is near the ocean so the views are great. Our number one compliment was the food, great buffet with tons of variety. The gourmet a la carte was also excellent. Our expectations were not high due to the excellent deal we got as a group, it was worth every penny. The shops in the strip area were great during the day as well. The resort is 20 years old or so I believe so don't expect a new complex. Everything is well maintained and extremely clean at this resort. The staff are excellent and make you feel welcome wherever you go. The side pools are a good option if you want peace and quiet away from the main pool. Overall I would recommend this resort and would go back.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Great spot.. Very easy going atmosphere

Nothing bad to say except maybe the food could use more flavor but hey it's a different culture..go with an open mind and if your looking for perfection and luxury please look elsewhere ... It was clean and friendly and the atmosphere was great.. I do wish they had a swim up bar but i survived just fine !!

Riu Merengue: Great resort!

I've been to this resort 3 times and still love it! It is laid out nicely and you are able to view the beach & ocean from all three pools. Although it is an older resort, it is very clean. There are always maids in or close to all washrooms throughout the resort and keep them clean at all times. The food is great and deserts too! This resort is on its own in Amber Cove so you are free to walk the beach without being approached by vendors. I would like to see a better set-up for the a-la-cartes (you have to book them each day for the day you want to attend, so sometimes miss out), but other than that, there is nothing bad I can say about this resort!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing TIME

Went with my best friend to the Iberostar Costa Dorada. We had an amazing time. Always things to do, the wet bar was the place to be. The nightclub on resort was good for pre-drinks.. but the club right beisde the resort was the place to be (kavier). It wasn't live till after 2pm mind you. Food was good, hospitality was great.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Excellent vacation

Food was good and plentyful. Impossible to go hungry. Staff were very helpful and eager to please you. Our first time to this hotel but far from our last. This place is kept spotless if a leaf falls out of a tree someone is there to pick it up. This is a 4 star hotel with 5 star food and service

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Relaxing Resort

We stayed April17-24th weather was over cast most days and heavy rain 4 nights.The grounds were very clean and cleaned everyday. The beach was clean, lots of seaweed, however we had rough seas the first 4 days. The breakers in the water are less to be desired to look at, and you loose the breaking wave sound you come to enjoy while staying on a beach resort. The food at the lunch/ beach location was a hit everyday ! Amazing soups We found the private pools on the far ends of the resort to be the best, very clean and the bars there very fast and real frozen drinks not out of the slushy machines. The main pool was very cloudy and dirty. We were at this pool for the first day and wouldn't go back to it once we found the other pools at the end of each end of the resort. The rooms were standard rooms. The maids were great and we always had enough towels for all of us. However I did have my scuba mask and snorkel go missing from our room. :( we did the jeep safari with Marco Polo and it was amazing! The highlight of this trip was on our last day the scuba guys came around and had 3 hours open that afternoon and offered a 3 hour boat trip to us for a fair price, we saw the coast of San Juan and Samara. We snorkels and saw a cave but the seas were to rough to go in it, we saw new Villas being built. We went on a white sand beach then we went down a canal to a village where the scuba guy lives, he took us into the village where we saw local ppl go about their day and we bought pizza from a boy on the road who went back and got us 2 more pizza's they were amazing or we were just hungry from not eating lunch and having a few drinks on the boat. Over all great trip for all of us Over all nice resort

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: An ok but not amazing time

This resort was big and had a lot of activities to offer (from mini golf to dancing to archery, etc.). The beach was very rocky and the food was good but not amazing. The entertainment staff was good and very friendly but everyone seemed a little money hungry. The resort also allows locals to come in on weekends which makes the resort busy (longer waits to get drinks and food) and barely any pool side chairs available.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Very Nice Resort

Overall the resort is very nice. We had booked Ocean View room and it was beautiful, just steps away from the beach. We are beach people and found the beach to be very nice with no very few vendors around. Resort is clean, food is good, staff are all very pleasant, helpful and quick. Would go back to this resort. Only suggestion we have is to have the pool tables available to be played in the evenings.

Very relaxing resort with great service. Food was adequate but more A la carte restaurants needed. Rooms had ample space and were very clean. Buffet had theme nights for dinner which help break up the regular selection on the buffet.
