Sol Turquesa Beach: Disappointment Vacation
Was very unhappy with the hotel. Had to share a king size bed with my daughter, when we booked 3 months in advance and requested 2 double beds. The room was a disgrace. Curtains falling off rod. No blackout backing. No pictures on the wall. Coffee maker; no coffee. Ran out of toilet paper, asked the maid for some, she said there wasn't any. Thank god we had Kleenex. Was wi
Don Lino Hotel: one star
This is my third time in this resort, and the last time in April I somebody went in my room on the last 2 hours while I was at the restaurant....when I arrived home in Canada I was missing $ 300.00 from my wallet, plus two memory cards with all the photos that I took, and a pair of Adidas pants all from my suitcase..this time I went back to complain with the manager but nobody would listen to me......good luck anybody going here.....I won't..... This is the typical Cuban resort that would be one [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Great resort, wonderful location
We travelled as a family in August 2015 and had lots of fun. Food was great, always something different. Everyone was so friendly, from the reception, to the gardeners. The buffet was great, and what a wonderful view. Beach was just great and Jorge and Raul did a great job with the service and the food. Food at the Italian and Romantic A la carte was just great. We did not like that much the shows in the evening, except the pool show and the water ballet team. Rooms were great, try to get 400 or [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: not the resort that I had hoped for.
The hotel was beautiful and the grounds vaste.Everything was spotless. The rooms were ordinary and a bit musty. The air conditioner could not hold up to the 42 degree weather. The food was very good but the choices were not as numerous as I have had in 4 star resorts. I think that that was due to being there in the off season.
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Won't recommend
We went there as a family of three with 9 year old son. The only thing I don't like is very basic rooms with ants crowing all over the place, so be careful, or bring the insects spray and other thing is food variety. Maybe it would be OK for the week, but been there for 2 weeks very tired of food. Other than that everything is perfect : the beach is most beautiful I've been, customer service is perfect very professional. If you don't like the room, they'll give you 3 or 4 to choose from. I conta [... read more]
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Memorable resort
It was my first time to Blau Costa Verde resort and I stayed in the new area, the Plus building. I appreciated how well it was kept, the fact that an umbrella had been left in the room to use during times when the sun is too strong to just walk under it. Great weather, good food and respecfull staff. Also the fact that Hola Sun included an excursion in the package was a lovely surprise and a smart move on their part to encourage travellers to book more excursions. I really liked that the pools w [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Good value for the $$
This resort is a little tired, could use a good paint job, repairs (missing tiles, chewed up wood on some of the buildings) and a good ole fashioned deep cleaning. The public restrooms were predominantly a serious stinky mess, and our rooms, while swept, needed major wiping down of walls, sinks and shower, which never happened. The beds were comfy and AC always worked perfectly. The food was good by Cuban standards, and the entertainment both during the day and in the evening was outstanding. Th [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: Well worth the money.
Our first impression of the hotel was it's sheer size. The grounds are so extensive that getting around was a bit of an issue. Once we got around that we were able to appreciate the scale of the place. The staff were very helpful and willing to solve any problems big or small. The beach is probably the best beach I have been to in Cuba. Turquoise water and white sand. The food in the buffet was generally pretty good with the exception of the fruit. Poor selection and quality. The food in the a l [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Exceptional Royal Service
We booked our 8 day vacation through Trip Central and that was smooth and without a hitch. We flew Cubana Air, which could do with a upgrade/refresh. Paradisus Rio De Oro was a disappointment, moreso due to the reconstruction of pool and pool restaurant and area. There had been no rain for 6 months and so the resort was dry and not tropical as you would expect. There were only a handful of people there, which made it seem like a ghost town. However the staff were incredibly wonderful and welcomi [... read more]
Brisas Guardalavaca: 2 1/2 star disguised as 4 star
Poor services, poor food, lots of locals that act like savages, very loud and disrespectful to the other tourists. The water does not have the "Caribbean" look due to the seaweed. Not going back there
Don Lino Hotel: Don Lino Hotel
Basic small hotel. Very clean and well kept. Located close to the village and therefore feels like you're in a village yourself with cows roaming at night and roosters singing in the morning. Horseback riding is included and is a must! Countryside is gorgeous when you go through the fields. The beach is small and clean, but extremely rocky . No bank at the hotel, exchange at the airport. Same food everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No enterteinment
Playa Pesquero: Gorgeous resort!!!
5 star resort in my books in all areas! Would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone. Great for families - clean grounds, courteous staff, great food! Large pool areas and beautiful beaches!
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Worst place ever
The place is so old and rundown. There is mold in the rooms and it smells really musty. The air conditioning works part of the time and the pool was shut down more than it was opened. There was algae growing it. The food was horrible and once I saw people serving themselves with their hand at the buffet, I was done. You have to buy bottled water as there is no filtration system in the resort and no WiFi. The Cuban dollar was the same pric as an American dollar $1.37).
Playa Costa Verde: Resort is fair
The rooms were very acceptable, the staff very friendly and helpful to all requests, the food was somehow ok if your not a picky eater. The place itself is big and spacious for everyone, all the grounds very well maintained. One thing that it would need is a little more entertaining at night started at 9:00 and ended +/- 10:00. The snack bar and lobby bar open 24 hours. The pool would need some renewal, tiles missing and some mildu at some areas. The buffet area is not enclosed in an air conditi [... read more]
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Very good expect for the beach
I found the hotel very good, the service excellent, I only eat at the buffet but it had a lot of things to choice from such as custom made to order omelets for breakfast. I would recommend to the hotel owner to have the water in front of the beach have stones as rocks removed from it. I was only in knee deep water but was stumbling around like I was drunk because of stepping on stores or rocks. So I only when to the beach three times, twice to try a swim and the last time to turn in my beach tow [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: Good Resort
Good family resort. Nice Beach, but entertainment lacking. Service was hit and miss especially around the bar. Excursions are the standard Cuban ones you see at all resorts. Not sure if I would go to Holguin again.
Sol Turquesa Beach: Our best Cuba trip yet!
My family of 5 had the most fabulous time at Memories Holguin Beach Resort.... Having spent the week of August 11-18 there. Wish we were still there... Sigh! Everything about this resort is spectacular: the staff, the pools, the beach and the other guests we met and shared the most wonderful week-long vacation with! So, here goes: When we arrived at night and in the dark we were given our 4 rooms: 118, 119, 121, and 122 (top floor, not a bug in sight!). These rooms were along the road at the v [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Resort with beautiful beach...good.
Although this is a 3 stars resort, but the beach is a 5 stars beach..white fine sand, clear water, colorful view...beautiful. Service, staff, room clean, food, drink ...overall rate 4 stars. I enjoy this holiday.
Don Lino Hotel: Nice quiet resort
Not recommended for those who are looking for busy place with a lot of actions and fun. Good place for those who need quiet time to relax read a book just to slow down and do nothing. Good place to go on loosing weight diet as well.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Fun times
Had a great time at this hotel. Loved the beach and the people. Only advice is to upgrade to a villa room. Still very afordable , the hotel rooms are completely claustrophobic. I also wish I spent more time outside of the resort, so take a trip to Holguin and make friends with the locals. Also go snorkeling! Gorgeous coral reefs within swimming distance . Talk to the life guards they'll hook you up. Enjoy amigos !
