Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Must read if you are travelling here

I just got back from a 7 day vacation at iberostar costa doroda. first of all i will say that this resort is for everyone no matter what age. They literally have activities for everyone. I travelled with my boyfriend and we are both 22 years old. we did not know what to expect when we went to the resort but we were so pleased with how it turned out. I will start off by saying that the entertainment staff made our entire trip. superman, batman, bon bon, blacky, pepsi cola, and hulu hulu were abso [... read more]lutely amazing. they tried to get everyone involved in any kind of game that they had going on. the shows were even better, we went to the shows every night and they were fabulous. the entertainment staff gets guests to dance and go out of their comfort zone which is great for everyone. They have so many activities not only for kids but for adults too. the pool is where most of the action happens. next, the beach, it wasnt like coral blue water or white sand but it was a good beach. its not the best if you are looking to only go there for the beach but they do have a beach volleyball court and a san soccer complex. they also have 2 days where lunch is served on the beach. it was so good. the only annoying thing at the beach is the vendors at the beach they are so annoying but if you say no thank you they walk away. the food was so good. they had alot of variety and it tasted so good. all of the a la cartes were great the japaese one is the very best. they also had food open all the time so you were never hungry. the room was nice not like amazing but you arent in your room very much anyway. all of the staff that worked there was so helpful. everyone was so great and i would recommend this resort to anyone. it was worth the money and the event staff is so amazing.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: This was our second time to the Riu Bachata!

My husband and two sons aged 19 and 24 stayed at the Riu from April 19 to 27. Food was good. Lots to choose from. Especially good if you like fish which was always cooked in front of you. Most of the time we ate our meals on the on veranda. The side facing the beach is non smoking. Julia took care of us most of the week at breakfast and lunch. We had excellent service. The red flag was up all week on the beach and there is a very strong current that will take you down the length of the beach. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful resort.

Although we were a little disappointed at first, as we stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Esmeralda, in Punta Cana in previous years, but we had a wonderful time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Because we had a standard room, they did not have a coffee maker or iron in the rooms. They are only offered in the suites. Rental of these are not an option. Also the safe had to be rented. All in all I would recommend this resort as a very reasonable price for an all inclusive vacation. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: The resort was not too small but a good size.

Property was well kept, everything was close by, the food was ok and the staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurants were good, wine was bad, entertainment was in transition so not great and pool was fun but a little too warm to refresh you.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Clean, and friendly!

The service level of this resort is truly why I rated it a five instead of a four. Service: From check-in to check-out all of the staff at the Iberostar went above and beyond. On my birthday they put a birthday cake and beautiful flowers in our room. You could tell how much pride the maids have in their jobs, we were sure to tip them a few dollars everyday and in return we were left with beautiful towel art and a spotless room. The animation team were all very friendly and not at all pushy like they are at some resorts, they really made the pool area a little more interesting however, the nightly shows aren't much to rave about. Room: Our room had two double beds and was a perfect size. The safe was digital so you didn't have to worry about losing a key, and the shower was very large and had decent water pressure. The wifi didn't work well in our room, but it did work on the balcony. Food: The food was really good, and the beach BBQ is not to be missed. The food was somewhat repetitive so don't try to eat everything at each meal, you'll have plenty of time to try everything thoughout the week. The Japanese restaurant was good, and a nice change from the buffet. The main buffet has better food at lunch than the pool buffet. Pool/beach: We didn't spend most time at the beach, the waters were rough and had a lot of seaweed. We did walk along the beach though and there were plenty of chairs and shaded areas, definitely a quiet place to relax. The pool is where we spent most of our time, to get a shaded chair you must put your towels out around 7am. Most activities happened around one side of the pool so if you wanted a quieter place to lay out, pick the pool end near the lobby. I did find the pool a little deep, I am 5ft tall and couldn't touch the bottom in the main section of the pool, I can swim but I find on vacation I like to be able to stand around the pool! I would definitely return to this resort, it was small enough that you get to know a lot of the guests and staff, I would also recommend this resort to anyone who enjoys a smaller feel.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Wonderful family friendly enviroment

The grounds are very clean. Great variety of foods available. Staff very friendly. Shows and activity staff are very poor. Often saw activity staff sitting around and drinking. One day spent 20 mins trying to find out if they were still playing beach volleyball, we then asked for ball,again told to go here then there. Finally they said we don't have a ball. Watched one lady dance by herself during Boggie night show while activity members sat around drinking. Very disappointed. Would like to see  [... read more]fridges in rooms filled with beer as bars close early (11 pm). All in all would go back again.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Very good

Very clean resort and rooms, very friendly personnel and all the problems were resolved immediately, good food, excellent professional entertainment and much weaker entertainment involving public (which I personally do not like but some other do).

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Fabulous time with friends

Had a great time with 6 girls, food was really good,rooms were clean , excursions were fun :) we will have memories for a lifetime , only downsides for me was the night life and entertainment could use help otherwise we would all return :)

Riu Merengue: Last minute and one of the best

Could not have asked for a better vacation. Flights were great and the staff were awsome. Cheeky monkey and the entertainment group kept the pool lively and the beach was awesome. Rooms clean and comfortable and the food was great. I loved that the salad bar was enclosed so everything was cold and fresh. Now the best was our waiter Willy who kept us laughing and entertained .

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Absolutely amazing

Beautiful grounds, great food, pleasant staff! Beach vendors are great once you get chatting with them! The resort really values their staff and its great to see. Beach is close, and well maintained. We will return!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Very nice resort

Everything was fine except we requested a quiet room when we checked in but had to be moved twice to get away from all the noise at night. Being a smaller resort, everything was handy. People were friendly and helpful.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Good Family Resort But Expected More For the Price

Expected much more for the price. The resort and room are run down. I don't mind because I go for the sun and beach. As long as there is something to eat, a hot shower and a clean bed, I'm good! This place is just not worth the money. It's comparable to a 3 star in Cuba. The entertain staff was nonexistent and I was missing the music that is playing constantly in a resort in Cuba. Otherwise, the scenery is beautiful and the jacuzzi's built into the reef were cool. The beach was clean but the sea [... read more] got deep very quickly, so not good for non swimmers. The resort in conveniently placed in the city of Sosua, so good if you like exploring and the local beach is a great place to visit. Also, for those who like to party, Cabarete is 10 min cab ride away, which is a must see and Sosua also has a few clubs to dance your night away. We enjoyed our stay but just expected more for the price.

Recently spent 2 weeks at this lovely little hotel. Good food nice beach . rooms need an upgrade but are clean . staff are fabulous .only complaint this time and have been to this resort before is difficulty getting a cababa on the beach as people claimed them early in morning with toweks but never turnef uo till late in the day. Resort needs to work on that.

The girls and guys doing the games and shows were awesome . the food was really good , a great variety everyday and night .our room on the reef side was clean and our maid was really good , some off the front desk was not very friendly .

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort

It is a great resort. The food and the service is execellent. I recommend to anybody that wants to have some relaxing time. This was my second time in the same resort and I sure that will not be the last time. Lifestyle Resort became my favourite place to go for vacation.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Very very clean

Food was good,very clean, rooms were nice. The location of ours was my only compliant ,we were facing the fence so smelled of fuel & noisy on the deck. Very friendly staff. Easy to get around. Close to shopping.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: LOVELY RESORT

FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AT ALL LOCATIONS-INTERNATIONAL RESTAURANT WAS FABULOUSLY AND YOU TREATED LIKE ROYALITY FACILTIES WERE GREAT-ALL SPORTS ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE FOR ALL AGES STAFF WENT OUT OF THERE WAY TO PLEASE YOU GROUNDS WERE KEPT UP DAILY

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: nice quite resort

The workers are amazing Eddy and all the staff the food is good not 5 star but it is a four star this was our second time to this resort no reward for return visitors the grounds are well kept always being worked the rooms are clean but dated. the pools are clean for us Canadians yes they do have clamato for the ceazers lovers

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort

Food was very good, rooms were nice, good beach, great nightly entertainment. staff were very helpful. We found the daily excursions getting quite expensive. Lobby was very attractive. One day they did a great paella lunch on the beach which was great.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great resort

Rooms were adequate (little far from main lobby about 5 min walk or get one of the shuttles) nice big main pool with several little ones around. Nice big beach with lots of open lounge chairs. Food was good and staff very friendly and helpful.
