Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great week with Bahia Principe
It was our third time going there and would go again. The grounds were very well kept and clean, the workers were very friendly and enthusiastic. We enjoyed the beach and activities there like volleyball and aqua exercises. The pools were clean with lots of chairs. We had a great time with the entertainment team at the main pool. They were wonderful and made us feel like family and friends. Ronaldo, Carlos, Jonathan, Yodi, Ybram, Alex, (we forget some names). The buffet restaurant was delightful[... read more] with great food choices and excellent service. Special thanks to Norma, Lucienda and the others working with them.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Royal Decameron Complex
We were shocked when we entered our room. Very poor lighting, 2 lights in the room plus a pole lamp that was busted, lamp shade was destroyed and no plug for it so not sure why it was even there. One dresser that was filthy and broken. Bathroom vanity had two broken doors, no shelves, literally open to the floor. We had cold water in our room for the first four days then after many complaints to front desk and maintenance staff we had luke warm water for the rest of the week. Very uncomfortable [... read more]for showering! There were only two receptacles in the room for phone chargers, etc. and no Wi-Fi reception in room or on balcony.
The complex is very spread out and quite nice. Grounds are well maintained and staff were very pleasant. Pools are nice. Bars are nice. Buffet areas are nice and clean and people working in the buffets are very friendly. However, the food in the buffets was not the best. Food was almost always cold, there were warming trays under all the food trays but it didn't look like they used them at all. Unless you got something that was just brought out, it was cold. Even some dishes just brought out were cold, like out of the fridge cold!
The wi-fi on the complex is terrible. Very poor coverage and moving from one area to another got you kicked off the wi-fi and you had to login every single time. Very frustrating. You also need the wi-fi and a phone to get a reservation at one of the a la carts. That is also a very frustrating experience. You have to login at 8:00 am, choose the date, choose the restaurant, choose for how many people (maximum of 2 people / reservation), choose a time, enter your room number and your bracelet number all in a matter of seconds because every spot is taken for every sitting in literally 90 seconds! Good luck with that! And if you want to go with another couple you both have to be at a spot with wi-fi at 8:00am and you both have to do this and hope you get in. Also with hundreds of guests on wi-fi trying to to the same thing at the same time you will most likely get kicked off the wi-fi and you will be having buffet for supper! It's a terrible system and if only two out of five or six a la carts are open you will most likely not get in. Many guests I spoke with gave up trying after the first day.
The location is nice. We walked to Bucerias a couple of times, also went out for dinner in Bucerias. The resort has bicycles that you can use to go for a ride, however the bicycles are not in the best of condition.

Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and Spa: Fantastic Resort!!!
From the moment we stepped onto the grounds we were met with helpful and friendly staff that went above and beyond. Check-in was fast and we only had to wait an hour or so for our room but were able to use all resort amenities while waiting.
We were blown away when we stepped inside our room and saw how beautiful and spacious it was! The bathroom was clean and had a nice supply of shampoo, conditioner, moisturizers etc. We had the best sleeps ever as the bed was so comfortable!! The resor[... read more]t appeared well designed and it seemed even the “non-oceanview” rooms had at least a partial view of the ocean.
Great variety of food, from morning to night as you can choose from three resorts! Bourdeaux at Secrets ended up being our favourite dinner spot, but all others were fantastic. Try the pizza at the Pizzeria for lunch or the Sky Bar for an evening cocktail!
There are numerous pools throughout the three resorts that you can use as a Dreams guest. By day seven we were still discovering new restaurants and pools.
We didn’t have problems finding beach loungers as we were patient and looked for ones that people had vacated and left their towels behind. That part was a bit frustrating. But we figured, hey, we’re on vacation, the sun is shining and we have a margarita in hand.
Great snorkeling right off the beach with snorkeling gear easily available onsite (and included!). We saw so many amazing fish right off the beach and around the pier. Bring water shoes as the shoreline does have some coral and makes entering the water in some spots a bit challenging. For even more amazing snorkeling book an excursion out to the coral reefs. Truly spectacular!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Not great.
I had some issues with this resort. When we arrived our adult room was not available - we were given a room in the family building with bunk beds and a king size bed - we are sisters and seniors. Next day our adult room still not available and but after persisting they finally gave us a room with two queen beds. The shower leaked over the bathroom floor daily making it slippery and dangerous. One night our beds were made and we had no top sheets. Room service wouldn’t answer so we had to go to [... read more]reception at 11pm asking for sheets. My son’s room had cold water in the shower and plugged toilet most days.
The food was not good. No toaster - only way to get toaster was to wait in the long line of people waiting for omelettes and eggs and the one lady working would put the bread on the greasy grill. There was no pasta station. The cold cuts and cheese were next to each other and touching. Very little fruit. No bacon - we found out two days before we left that it could be ordered from the staff. The beach was mostly rocks which were sharp and craggy. We found out mid week we could go to a sister resort about 25 minutes away with a beautiful beach and good food - we paid to go there twice after we heard about it. We tried on day one to book the a la carts restaurants and none were available all week.
The rooms were clean. The staff worked hard but the resort was understaffed. The surf was beautiful! Lots of loungers. The animals were cute but the donkeys should be free - they were kept in a small corral and looked hot and miserable.

We were thoroughly impressed. I have been to six other resorts, and this one trumps them all. My wife and I plan on returning next year if possible. I can't imagine a better place to relax. It was awesome.

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Second visit as good as the first!
Enough has been said previously about the beautiful sandy beach, gorgeous grounds and walkways, and the clean and well maintained rooms, so let’s focus on the best part of the stay at the Majestic: the staff!
Starting with our extremely late arrival at 1:30 am, we were met with the pleasant, smiling night clerk, Angel, who not only quickly had us checked in and ready to go, but also ensured that we connected with our travel friends (who had arrived a day earlier) and facilitated adjoining r[... read more]ooms. Thank you Angel.
My spouse has a serious fish allergy, so food products are always a concern for us when travelling. The Majestic takes food allergies as serious as we do. On the first morning of our arrival, the restaurant concierge, Joy, met with my spouse to discuss the food in the broad range of restaurants and to identify risks. This care continued throughout our 2 week stay, with Joy addressing concerns about the labelling of snacks in the club lounges, and chef Sebastian checking in with my spouse at the various restaurants we attended. What a pleasure to be able to relax, knowing that allergy concerns are taken seriously at the Majestic. Thank you Joy and Sebastian.
And then there’s the restaurant and poolside staff, starting with Julian’s smiling and friendly breakfast service every morning at Flavors – especially his ‘special’ coffees! Thank you Julian. And poolside was made to feel like a second home with Andres’ happy smiles and jokes and genuine friendly demeanor. Thank you Andres! And thank you also to Andres’ poolside ‘brother’, Angel. The two are a fixture in our memories of our 2 week stay.
And finally, what can we say about our butler, Gloria, other than “wow, what a great face to the Majestic Resort”! Gloria was always available to assist us with any questions or concerns with a pleasant, caring, and quick response. We can’t say enough about Gloria, but can say thank you so much Gloria, and good luck with the wedding!
Can't wait for our third visit.

Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta: Amazing week!
We were extremely happy with our stay at the Hard Rock, it was clean, all of the staff were attentive, extremely friendly and accommodating. Shout out to the waiter, Rafa, who always had a smile, and Cheyanne for the best omelettes. The food was great, as well the entertainment ! Our only complaint was the time share people who are over the top pushy for the first couple of days and again on checkout. Otherwise an amazing week, we would come back again!

Riu Flamingos: Overall Really Happy with Resort
Gonna keep this short and sweet cause I know I hate reading those long winded reviews.
THE GOOD
The grounds were well kept and clean.
The food was probably the best at any resort i've been too so far. Lots to choose from.
The pools (one smaller, quieter one and one bigger with swim up bar and music) were nice and no problems finding chairs at 9:00/9:30am, if you didn't go down super early.
The beach was good, also a lot of chairs if you didn't go down early.
The room was good. I like[... read more]d that you can choose to have your room cleaned or not like a regular hotel.
Staff was friendly and accommodating.
The beach vendors (handful of them throughout the day) didn't hound you. If you said no, they moved on. There was also a hut on the beach where you could purchase the same items.
THE NOT SO GOOD
One thing I didn't like about the resort was how loud the nightly entertainment was. I don't think it mattered where on the resort you were staying but i'm sure you could hear it clear as day. We sort of faced toward the stage area and the walls shook at times.
The resort is in a "U" shape with 6 floors and only one elevator in the main lobby area. If you are older or unable to do a lot of stairs, I would request something on the first floor or near the elevator.

Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta: Fantastic Resort
One of the best all inclusive I have been to. Older resort but the Hard Rock delivered in service, cleanliness, and amenities and the room was perfect and house keeping were detailed and timely. The staff were ALL amazing and couldn't do enough for you, the food fantastic and no having to pre book, loved that! The grounds are all kept very well and the beach was amazing. Fantastic nightly entertainment. Highly recommend Hard Rock Puerto Vallarta

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Needs work
The animals wandering around are a nice touch. I hadn’t seen a lemur before. But I felt sad for the donkey who was not free range and looked hot and tired (like me).
The pools are fine but not plentiful and not visible from the trails. There are no trolleys to take people around ( except staff) and I overheated twice trying to find a place to sit or cool off.
The staff are lovely, the room fine, the food iffy.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing resort
Food was amazing. 24hr room service
A la Carter every night
Rooms were clean. Staff extremely friendly and caring.
It is a distance to the beach but there's a trolly to take you all over.
The resort was overall quiet and relaxing. If you're looking to party though I'd maybe suggest one of the Bahia closer to the beach

Riu Playacar: Amazing Resort
We just arrived home after a beautiful week at Riu Playacarmen. What we found was that it was just the right size. Not a whole lot of walking to and from meals and the beaches and bars.
The grounds were well kept with interesting little creatures bouncing around. Our room was very clean.
Food was amazing and the hospitality was great with smiles and always willing to accommodate.
We found one thing that was great was that the beach was kept very clean. Most of the resorts had seawee[... read more]d washed up in front but our hotel alone with the other adjacent Riu hotel were kept very clean. Beach was amazing with a lot of chairs to accommodate everyone.
The size of the resort was perfect for everything not a lot of people to make you feel crowded and crazy. It ranged from littles to older folks like us.
The resort is set up for all accommodations with ramps all around the restaurants and into one of the pools. The only access that you couldn't get with a wheel chair or other accessibility means was the beach but I know that they could help out with that.
Thank you for an amazing holiday.

Riu Playacar: Great resort
The resort is beautiful, staff are very friendly and helpful, food was really good but not very warm under the heat lamps. Pools were great. Room was very nice although I'm not a fan of the open concept washroom as I travel with my sister. Eliana Anton was my agent and I was very pleased with her, she was very helpful and prompt.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Amazing Staff
My boyfriend and I had an incredible stay at the Seaside Palms section of the resort. The food was great, the grounds were absolutely beautiful and lush with plants and palm trees. And above all the staff were incredible. We wanted to make a shout out to Veronica and Martha, who we grew to love. They went above and beyond to make our beach days the best! And a special thank you to Mildred for helping us when our flights were delayed, and ensuring we were set up and comfortable! Highly recommend

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Amazing value
If you’re on a budget but want to experience paradise, this resort is for you. It’s nestled in the jungle yet has an amazing beach. It is very dated, but clean and well kept. The staff are amazing, they work very hard and take pride in this resort. It is extremely family oriented though, so don’t let the adults only section fool you, there will be lots of children at the main buffet and al cartes (like A LOT). There’s a lot to do here, so you probably won’t experience all it has to offer in one [... read more]trip. It’s in a gated community so it is very safe and away from the crazy playa del Carmen. This is not a party resort there is no nightclub or disco, just nightly shows that were very entertaining! The food is ok, but for the price you pay, do not expect a culinary experience. There are several pools and a long stretch of beach to enjoy, so you should be able to find what you like here. We loved it and already miss it, what a great place to have a vacation!

Park Royal Cancun: Not Enjoyable
We had no A/C. Came into the room at 26*C and called front deck to assist in the issue. Was told Maintenance would show on several occasions and never did. Being and HVAC operator I tried to see if I could resolve the issue and discovered the wires were cut to the valve and was just running in manual mode (T-Stat did nothing just controlled fan speed) and the valve handles were removed so no adjustments could be made without tools. The amount of Black Mould in ceiling area was disgusting. The Ba[... read more]rtenders would serve (Locals or people that could speak Spanish) as priority even when they see you have been standing waiting.
Also, I left a personal belonging on the Bar and no effort was made to ask around to see if this was placed somewhere or may have seen it. I've stayed at resorts in past that have put effort in and been successful in recovering items I've misplaced. Then when asking when checking out at 4am if maybe they could check lost and found one last time, they said no even though the room was just behind the front desk.
This is without a question the Worst resort I've ever stayed at and not sure if I can trust Tripcentral star ratings going forward. There is even more issues but I'm not typing a novel as this is enough to show my point.
