Riu Cancun: Gorgeous resort!

Just arrived back from the Rui Cancun. This was my 3rd time there and and my friends first. The hotel is amazing . Beautiful decor throughout. The staff so very friendly. I was quite impressed with Marlene a waitress at the buffet restaurant she actually remembered me from a trip 2 years before and asked how my girls were doing. Megial the pool waiter was so sweet . Views from our room on the 15 floor were breathtaking. We had a great time

Riu Merengue: Another great trip

The Riu Merengue was great. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The grounds in the Merengue Garden are well kept. The flowering plants were in bloom making for a very pleasant setting. The beach is constantly being raked to keep it clean, the water was warm and pleasant. The quality of the food has improved since our stay last year with lots of choice to suit every taste. All in all the Merengue Gardens is our resort of choice and we will be returning next year.

Riu Flamingos: Great service, good food, rooms to be improved

The layout of the resort is great. Family / kids friendly, 2 pools (one more of a families with kids type of pool), decent variety of food and extremely friendly staff. Activities and competitions during the day to keep folks entertained. Daily shows at evening by the crew (main area) and "guest performers" by the lobby area where nice. Location is not bad (it's a resort area, hotels are a bit isolated). Located very close to Bucerias village and the town of Puerto Vallarta with a fairly short  [... read more]and inexpensive taxi ride to either of those. Outside, there's plenty of attractions. Highly recommended is ziplining with Adventure Vallarta. The one thing that didn't make it a perfect review was the rooms. For a 5-start hotel the rooms are really far from what one would expect. Ignoring the rooms, everything else is a good deal overall.

Riu Bambu: Very nice, BUT

Very nice resort. The staff was very friendly and entertaining. Just 2 issues. Only 2 sheets on the bed. Talking to other guests there is an extra blanket in the closet. We had no extra blanket. Asked housekeeping staff for a blanket. No luck. Asked the front desk twice. Again no luck with the promise of "yes seniorita right away", NOPE!! So we froze all week. If we turned air off then the room was too hot, so we chose to freeze. Secondly I left a pair of earrings behind in a drawer. I emailed  [... read more]them upon my return home. They got back to me 2 days later and said they asked housekeeping staff and said they were not found. I don't believe the housekeeping staff took them. I just think they didn't check the drawer in the room. Sound advice, leave your jewellery at home. The earrings are still there I'm sure. Now the resort is closed for 3 months. Oh well, live and learn. Had a wonderful vacation anyway.

Riu Reggae: Just a fantastic place

We stayed in April at Riu Reggae and had great temperature the whole week .The staff are great people and make your stay even better .The rooms are nothing fancy but new ,kept clean ,spacious and had 4 bottles of liquor so no complains there and we had a garden view by the fence that turned out to be a great ocean view from the top floor and we saw lots of cruise ships go by at night .The grounds are also well kept with lots of fresh trees and plants but will be better when fully grown (still ne [... read more]w).And for the food well we had lobster ,shrimp, steak ,and lots of jerk chicken and all the salads you can imagine and all the desserts you could imagine,,,,really something for everybody...All the workers even the security where very friendly and wanted you to fell welcomed Thank you to all of you xo ...Don't miss the beach party on Sundays ,great time. And they do free tie die on the beach but you can give a donation ,well worth it . Oh and if you need transportation or private tours call Neville ..the best and very respectful...would definitely recommend Neville and the hotel to friends

Riu Emerald Bay: Very nice and friendly

Very clean and friendly except the bar pool could have used a little more attention. Our preference would to return to the Riu Santa Fe in Las Cabo before Mazatlan for this reason and the food quality was better in Cabo.

Riu Santa Fe: Great Resort

Everything about this Resort is great, it is always clean, the staff is friendly, the food is however mediocre at best. But what is NOT up to par is the wine. The wine that they serve at the buffet, as well as all the specialty restaurants tastes like petroleum......absolutely the worse wine I have ever had, it is COMPLETELY UNDRINKABLE. When we asked for another wine, that would be better than the first one they gave us they came back with the exact wine, different bottle. This made us go out of the resort for dinner instead of having to endure this horrible horrible beverage they call wine. Will probably NOT stay here again due to this very reason

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Not A 4 1/2 Star

We just spent 14 days at the RIU Bachata in Puerto Plata . The first night was not good, our room was only set up for two people and there was three of us. I went to the front desk and explained to them that this would not work for us as my sister in law would not like to share her bed with the wife and I and that we needed another bed put into the room and that we had requested that when we booked our trip,The women on duty said that this is how Sun wing sets up the rooms. Then the manager tha [... read more]t night said he would get it done in the morning and they did.The next problem was the air condictioner . The room was always warm and even though they sent some one up to look at it never got any better they just put it off as being to hot out side and the equipment to old.I think this resort needs a magor up grade and should only be rated as a 3 ½ star. The next issue that we have is the beach in front of the Bachata it is very dirty and disgusting ! Their was garbage floating in the water and on the beach it self. My wife and I and another couple went walking on the beach and found a Sirenge and the Needle still in it , they took it to one off the shops on the beach and they just said no problem and put it in a hollow tree trunk, THIS is NOT EXCEPTLE.!!!!!!!! They need to do something with the intertamment . This is not good for a 4 star resort. We found the food to be excellent and the room maids excellent along with all the staff .

Riu Reggae: Loved this resort!

This resort is close to the airport which is a bonus!!! It is very new & modern, nice and clean, the service was great, the food was great, everyone was friendly. I am so glad I chose this resort. I typically do not like going to the same resort but for this one I will be returning soon.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Beautiful Resort

Hotel grounds are beautifully maintained. Several well kept pools available. No washroom facilities around the pool and beach area. The food at the main dining area and restaurants was fantastic. All staff were so helpful and friendly.

Riu Flamingos: Great Family Resort

The staff make the difference at the Riu. The location is great and so was the food. It was all a very pleasant surprise and good value for money. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional,.

Riu Bambu: Beautiful beach

My family and I visited Riu Bambu twice, in 2007 and 2017. The hotel grounds are beautiful and nicely maintained. The beach is stunning, with lots of mature palm trees that provide plenty of shade. Beach loungers are abundant. The food was excellent, with lots of variety available. However the drinks on offer were not that great. There is no real orange juice, the alcoholic beverages were too sweet and syrupy. For us the best choice were red wine and beer. White and rose wines were too sweet.  [... read more]Coffee served for breakfast was good, together with specialty coffees available from the machine. The room we stayed in was closer to the beach and the main buildings. The resort has a mix of renovated and non-renovated rooms available. Renovated rooms are mostly at the back of the resort away from the beach. Our room was a non-renovated one. The room itself was good, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We asked reception staff for help in that mater but unfortunately they didn't accomplish much. At first they tried to remedy the situation by putting several blankets on top, under the sheets. That didn't help much, so after our third request they changed the mattress but to no avail since the new mattress was the same as the old one. We gave up after that. The staff in general is OK, but may seem grumpy at times. On the side note, the tennis courts were in a really bad shape, full of debris. The surface was gravel. We chose to go for one excursion to Saona island. It included a semi-submarine visit, snorkelling around it, speed boat ride to the island, lunch and catamaran ride back. We found it too expensive for what we got. The guide was very good, but we felt everywhere we went was way overcrowded. We couldn't see much from the submarine but our kids enjoyed snorkelling a lot. The island itself was very crowded as other tours come there too. The lunch provided was very good. The catamaran ride was the biggest disappointment, as it was really overcrowded, with barely any space to move.

Riu Negril: Rui beach club Negril Jamaica

The hotel property was very clean. Main pool with swim up bar got pretty gross daily . All the other pools were very clean . The bartenders and waiters all very friendly. The buffet was very good always lots of food lots of variety . Only one restraunt was alla Cart. And it was very good . Asia was buffet Italian and French just main coarse was served . Sports bar had cold sandwiches and pop corn 24 hours so if you wanted something late at night not much choice. Activity staff worked very [... read more] hard to keep guests entertained .

Riu Palace Macao: Wonderful Resort

The resort grounds were well kept and the resort is small so you can get to the dining areas and beaches just a short walk away. The food was excellent. The rooms could use some updating and the nightly entertainment definitely needs improvement.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Perfect vacation

Absolutely nothing to complain about ... Flights were on time Hotel was way above expectations Food was great every meal of every day. Pool and beach fantastic. Weather phenomenal and sunsets amazing. We got a very good last minute price but even at full price this place would not disappoint. If I had to whine about something just so anyone reading this doesn't think it's a fake review I would say the beds kinda sucked. Super loud diaper like mattress covers that were sewn on. And the [... read more] pull out couch bed for my daughter was pretty brutal. Not dirty or anything. Just really poor quality. And some ppl might think I'm weird. But sometimes the service was " too attentive". If u know what i mean. Every single person who works there asks you if everything is ok at every moment in time. I'm assuming there are some that will love this. For me it's almost over the top. But they're genuine. And very friendly and helpful. Best resort I've ever been to in Mexico. And I've been to a lot

Riu Flamingos: Great short getaway

My sister and I went for a 4 night stay. The location, beach, and pools were great! The rooms and restaurants were a 6/10. The beach is very sandy and has beautiful views of the mountains. There is an adult pool and kids pool, however the children do go to both. There are many bars and bar carts located throughout the pool area. For a short trip, it's a good value and stay.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Awesome staff

We were returning guests to the Riu Bachata, after having enjoyed a week-long vacation at your resort February 16-23, 2016. We enjoyed our time at the Bachata so much that we are returned for two weeks this year, March 28 - April 11, 2017.The fantastic staff there, which included Whitney, Salami, Luis Pablo, Candy Crush, Kitty Kat, Hansel, Muriel just to name a few. We also went there purposely to seek out our favorite groundskeeper Ramon, who, last year, climbed trees to get us fresh coconuts [... read more]. Sadly, and with deep condolences, we've heard that he has since passed away. This news definitely was the only huge damper that we had during our stay at the Riu Bachata. We've recommended your resort as a perfect vacation getaway to our friends and family, and as a result, there is a couple heading your way for a week's stay on April 28th, 2017. The only recommendation would be to have an ATM in the lobby, as we had to take a $25 cab to Puerto Plata to get more cash for gifts, extra excursions etc. Last year, there was one at the entrance of the resort, that is no longer there. Riu Reggae: Riu Reggae was great!

We had a gardenview room. The room itself was updated and clean! The bed was king size and was very comfortable. We were on the second floor, the view from the balcony was not great but it didn't really matter cos when you think about it your not in the room for long The girls that clean the room did a great job!! The service in the restaurants was great! . I will definitely be going back when I return to Jamaica!

Riu Flamingos: Beautiful & Amazing resort!!

The room was very nice lots of room & comfortable bed, Dinning area had lots of selections and food was amazing 😉! The grounds were very well kept clean & there was always someone cleaning up after everyone! I would definitely return to this resort!! If you go on any tours while there be sure and ask for Pancho Ochoa he was the best! Nexustourptovallarta.

Riu Playa Blanca: Absolutely Wonderful Resort & Experience

We went with a group of 8 and we were all very happy with our experience. Our check in and check out was seamless. The hotel was extremely clean. The staff was very kind, the food was delicious, the pools were clean, the ocean was clean with no seaweed and the entertainers work very hard at their routines - great shows every night - even for children. We travel often and I would definitely go back to this resort and recommend this location.
