Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Cuba's best kept secret

I have travelled to Cuba numerous times for our annual spring vacation. We have been in Holguin, Varadero, and Cayo Coco but Cayo Santa Maria is by far the best. Valentin Perla Blanca: The ocean was spectacular!

My friend and I just came back from 7 nights at Valentin perla Blanca resort in Cayo Santa Clara. Nice hotel, great pools, outstanding beach....the food was ok but it is cuba after all. Piña colada's were fantastic! And thanks to Alexandra Biddle at trip central in dundas, Ontario. It was extremely relaxing!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Good Resort

In total we had a great trip. The hotel is beautiful and clean, you can tell they take a lot of pride in it! The food & maid service was fantastic, huge shout out to Tall Ernesto and Magdeil in the buffet and Tania in Villa 16, they were all so nice and helpful. The beach is gorgeous and the pools are spacious. I love that there is a market right next door. All the workers are so nice, they really want to make it special for everyone there! The food was good, lots of options. I did find it re [... read more]petitive which got tiring but I always find that. We only managed to find two A la Carts, the Italian was fantastic! We were told the one outside was Privilege only at supper. I wasn't a huge fan of worrying about what was only for Privilege but it didn't come up often, only with the A la Carts. We had some issues with getting an extra bed brought in that we requested in advance for the room with 3 people, had to ask three times, was finally brought on our third night. Two people with us had some mobility issues and we asked if we could call to have bell boy bring them to the lobby for meals and stuff. They said that was fine and usually it was. Except the two times we had time constraints and they never showed up, despite calling over an hour in advance. We almost missed our excursion because they kept assuring us they were coming. And then they had to carry their bags up when it was check out time, which was really hard for them to do. Disappointment the Havana overnight trip we saw advertised online was not available when we arrived ( we really wanted to go on it). The AirTransat ladies were very helpful in finding us another excursion though. Would definitely go back, the people, the hotel and service was all great! The few hiccups we had did nothing to ruin the experience for us. Ocean Casa Del Mar is a lovely resort! Would recommend to anyone!

Valentin Perla Blanca: FUN,SUN.GREAT VALUE

The Valentin perla blanca was a fantastic property, well kept grounds a great 24 hour snackbar ,a huge lobby area with 24 hour bar,tons of seating in that area as well evening entertainment there.The buffet was average but still enough choices for anyone...a few of the evening shows were enjoyable ie..beach party with bubble machine,Michael Jackson,songs an dances from broadway shows,my favorites. Melia Las Dunas: First time going

We went for 10 days. Mar 28-apr 7. Overall a good experience, great food and amazing people. Only thing to complain about it they do not change sheets. They only make the bed even when asked for new sheets and the wifi does not work. Other than that it was a nice trip.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Ocean Casa del Mar

The beach was awesome! The pools were also wonderful! The food was ok but could use some improvement. The entertainment for the most part was a bit of a let down. Sharing of resort information could have proven to be beneficial.

Melia Las Dunas: Las Dunas 2017

We had a great week at melia Las Dunas. We left March 28th/April 5th. We were a family of seven. Grandparents, parents and 3 kids aged 12,7&2. Staff were wonderful beach was amazing, food was ok..we could always find something to eat. The only thing if your traveling with younger kids the buffet did not open for supper until 7pm. The kids enjoyed the nightly entertainment. And there was always something happening around the pool. The resort itself is very large so lots of walking! Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Wonderful experience

We went for the beach, and it is the best ever - very long. Beach attendants could always find you a place in the shade. Beach bar waiters were active and drinks were generous. Bring a travel mug. Beautiful buildings & landscaping. Rooms clean. Some exceptional service, mostly very good service, but some not. Food very good, but remember this is Cuba, and not up to a 5 star elsewhere.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful Resort

The grounds were beautiful! The beach was Amazing. The water clear and blue. I would have to say this is the most beautiful beach I have been to yet. We took particular notice of how good the food was at the twenty four hour snack bar, which had more variety than other twenty four hour snack bars I've ever been to. Great variety. The chicken fingers were to die for! Very friendly staff! A little slow with maintenance coming to fix our toilet, but just a minor thing really. Amazing resort,I'll definitely be back! The staff are the sweetest people and can't do enough for you. The food was good,ketchup tasted like real ketchup! Beaches are beyond amazing! Very modern accommodations.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing fun time at this resort

This resort was amazing it was lots of fun, night life was great. The shows were awesome every night something new. I went for the sun and relaxation. There were lots of vacationers, and it looks like every one was having a good time. One thing make sure u get your new bottle water everyday for your room :)

Roc Lagunas del Mar: Lovely Vacation

I am not a well seasoned traveler, and have just started taking vacations to Cuba recently. Cuba gets me the most value for my money so that I can afford to vacation. I travel with someone who has vacationed in Cuba many times and he has prepared me for what to expect. I am thoroughly happy with the Warwick. I have no complaints, and enjoyed my recent stay. My vacation is all about the beach, and it is beautiful. The rocks and coral only add to my snorkeling pleasure.

Memories Paraiso: Great Value For The Money

Stayed at this resort in March, 2017. The hotel, rooms, grounds and food were average. The service and staff were excellent- courteous and friendly. The greatest part of this property is the beach and ocean. I think it's the nicest section of beach in Santa Maria- truly a tropical paradise. Overall, great value for the money if you want a great beach and relaxation.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Great Time

We really enjoyed our time at Starfish. The beach was beautiful and so was the pool. Our room had a fantastic ocean view. Staff was wonderfully friendly, and we enjoyed the feel and decor. The environment of the resort was well maintained with wonderful landscaping and offered an incredibly homey and welcoming environment. We enjoyed spending our time around the open, breezy lobby bar in the late morning enjoying cappuccino and espressos. We enjoyed wonderful nights sitting outside with other tourists we had met and had some wonderful conversations. We were close enough to some towns and cities to do some tours. The wifi was satisfactory and affordable, which was great for keeping in touch with family at home. I am genuinely glad this was our choice for our first adventure to Cuba.

We had contacted Shauna about booking, and after much research and Shaunas insight on the resort we decided on the Valentin Perla Blanca. This adults only resort was exactly what we were looking for. Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice resort

Nice room, not far from beach an very good services. The beach was awesome and the activities were good. More music would have been better. The staff were helpefull. Good services when ask for help with fixing things in our room.

Melia Las Dunas: Melia Las Dunas

Everything good but food ok.A lot of birds in huts eating food ,pooping?Beach great,pools too.Hotel clean,ants in room but to be expected.Just sprayed with repellent.Grounds were sprayed during day,maybe better at night when no food out.

Roc Lagunas del Mar: Great resort for fun in the sun!

Here is an outline: Pros: great location, friendly staff, good food at buffet, great restaurant by pool for lunch - Crazy Lobster, beautiful beach, nice rooms with large rain showers, ample shade areas and beach chairs they even came around with pillows for us. Cons: a la carte restaurants weren't great, long ride from airport(2 hours), 24 hour snack bar wasn't good - slow, ran out of food or didn't offer much, coffee machines in room but no coffee available for them, low on water.

Valentin Perla Blanca Paraiso: Beautiful resort.

Rooms were clean modern &spacious. Well maintained grounds. Beach was one of the most beautiful we have ever been to. Pools very clean. Excellent entertainment. Buffet was average didn't change much all week. Restaurants were very good. Friendly staff. Lots of garbage cans around the resort which was great to see. Only one thing I think would improve the resort is washrooms closer to the beach.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Loved the ocean

The beach here may not be as wide as in Varadero, but it is better for swimming because the waves are smaller and there are little corals that shelter plenty of fish which makes snorkeling fun. As can be expected in Cuba, the food wasn't great, but our room was very comfortable. We paid $300 more per person for Privilege, but I don't think it was worth it. All the rooms in this resort have a balcony and we did not get an ocean view. The web site says Privilege will get you an hour of free Intern [... read more]et per day and majordome service. In fact, in double occupancy, it will get you 2 hours of Internet per person per week. Any more time, you must purchase. If you want majordome service the hotel charges an extra $ 40 if you've bought a Privilege package through an agency like Trip central. I don't think the small bottle of rum, poolside massage (in plain view of everyone at the pool) and lobster dinner are worth it. Otherwise, Cubans are very polite and friendly but anything non routine can be a challenge. The evening I called at 6 for a clean set of sheets (my daughter had a bad case of la tourista) it took 3 hours and several phone calls before they were finally provided.
